Watching the girl fiddle with the fabric she wore around her torso and head he listened to her speak. Chuckling softly he shook his head and spoke. "The woods are a dangerous place, especially at night. The stories told of humans who only walk at night and feed on their own kind."
Pausing for a minute he looked at her before speaking again slowly. "Humans were killing trees again, I destroyed the machines they work with. My kind is dying, there are not many of my kind left."

As Echo was looking down, she felt the corner of her mouth quirk up when he spoke about humans feeding on others. "Well that doesn't sound very human at all." Echo said more in amusement than anything else. She looked up. "There's no one around here anyways, doesn't seem like a place where one could find another so easily." She said thinking about how she had been walking since early evening and hadn't seem anyone at all.
Her smile disappeared when Chiha spoke about people taking down trees and his kind dying. Humans could be some of the most selfish creatures in the world, it was almost disgusting. However, Echo supposed they were just trying to keep their race intact as other races did, such as vampires feeding on others to survive. There was nothing to be done she supposed.
"The human race is getting too large and they're not leaving room for the other races. So you're here alone then?" Echo asked in a sympathetic voice.

Chiha looked down into the fire as he listened to her before he spoke. "That I know of, we are hard to find. If I wanted to you wouldn't of ever seen or heard me." Reaching over he grabbed a larger stick and broke it easily in half, putting it on the fire he sighed and watched the fire, getting lost in thought. Blinking a few times he looked up at her and spoke. "You have a long ways to travel tomorrow, how you made it this far in the snow I am not sure." Sitting up fully he stretched his back and leaned back against the rock wall.
Glancing past her outside every now and then to the sound of snow falling. Paranoia was in his nature, he had to be paranoid to survive. This girl was strange, not normal. It had been a long time since Chiha has talked to any one, he was enjoying it while it lasted.

Echo couldn't imagined what would have happened had she not been helped by Chiha. She probably could have gotten out somehow, but it would have taken her a lot longer. Chiha mentioned traveling. She had actually taken a car to get as close as she could to the forest as not to waste too much time, and walked the rest of the way. She would have to wait until the next evening though to get back safely without risking putting herself in the sunlight.
"It'll be difficult, but I have a vehicle at the edge of the forest. When evening comes again I'll bid you a farewell." Echo said smiling towards the primate. "Do you value solitary so much or has no one given you the impression that people can be nice?" Echo asked wondering if he loved being alone or had known no other way of being. Echo was terrified of being alone, she had to be needed. She thrived on being with people.

Grabbing large flat rocks he placed them in the fire before placing another stick on top of it to keep it going. Running out of sticks quickly he knew the rocks would stay warm through the night to keep her warm, he thought of going out to find more wood for her. He didn't need it, he could of stayed walking all night and would of been fine. The girl was growing on him, usually he would of waited till she passed out, carried her to the cave, light a fire and leave, giving her a chance, but instead he helped her while she was awake. He took a huge chance, he didn't know what she was, the reassurance she wasn't normal either helped but she was still so similar to humans he was a little worried.
He had only really talked to one other human or human looking creature, that was the little girl he saved years ago. Listening to her he looked away for a second before looking back at her to answer. "Humans only want to rid me of my land.. Why should I give them the chance to see or talk to me? I have ever only talked to you and one other young human girl."

Echo watched as Chiha put rocks in the fire. She didn't know why, but he would know more about this then her so she didn't question his actions. She was just about completely dry now. Her legs had fallen asleep though so she moved them to the side so she could stretch them out. She was clearly not prepared for taking trips to the woods and found that deciding to go so suddenly without thinking it through wasn't really wasn't like her. She brushed it off though, not knowing what to make of it.
Echo listened to Chiha and what she heard made her sad, but at the same time she understood. "Yes, it's true that humans can be cruel, but at the same time they can be so kind. Do you let only a portion can represent a whole race to you?" Echo asked sadly. Because she was aware that her kind have done and are still doing a lot of damage. Vampires over time have been given such a nasty name, it made Echo cringe to think that people thought all vampires to be so ruthless.

Listening and watching Echo he scratched his leg before speaking. "I know some humans are kind but not a lot. I do not give them the chance because if I did, I would not be here today.. I will get more wood.. Stay here." Standing up Chiha walked out of the cave and found a large pine tree, searching at the bottom of it he found the dead branches they needed. Breaking the branches off he carried them back to the cave. Walking past her the snow melted and fell off him quickly. Setting the sticks near the fire to dry quickly he sat back down on the ground near the fire. Looking back at her he shook his head and the snow fell off.
Speaking he said. "I give only ones that are different a chance.. I usually wait till they pass out to help them. " Without thinking he yawned and laid on his back. Looking at the cave ceiling he said. "I planned on leaving in the morning, but if you wish I will stay longer to see you to your car."

Echo thought it was sad that Chiha couldn't make friends with other species because of how dangerous it would be for him. She could understand why people would be scared, but you can't judge a book by its cover. Humans always said that, yet that's what they always do. Judgment was so harsh, Echo couldn't stand it.
Chiha went to find more would and came back moments later saying he would accompany Echo to her car. She smiled and shook her head. "You don't have to, I think I can make it back by myself if I'm careful. Your sleep schedule seems to be the opposite of mine. I'm more of a night owl and sleep during the day, in a manner of speaking." Echo said thinking it would be problematic if she had to go out before the sun went down.

He Listened to her before sitting up and scratching his arm and watching her. He thought for a little while. Looking outside he listened, the sound of a canine howling in the distance was faintly heard. He shrugged it off and looked back at the woman. Throwing couple smaller sticks on the fire he scooted a little bit further back from it, he had gotten dry and was getting hot.
He sat silently as he watched her, glancing at the fire every now and then when it cracked loudly and sent embers flying. Speaking he said. "When do you want to leave? I will run you there so you are not walking in the snow all night. It's the least I can do for you, it is odd to find someone so nice." He looked at her and thought that it was great to find someone that is just as strange and has to hide it, not so much as him but still.

Chiha offered to walk her back at the time she wished and Echo smiled. She found the Sasquatch sweet and thoughtful; a big contradiction to most things said about his kind. However, Echo didn't take much pleasure in rumors about certain species as she found that there was never a set character for a whole species. Her kind had been rumored about in such a negative light, it was hard to imagine them even decent, yet some word. Overall, rumors were just distasteful and she was always trying to disprove them.
"That is kind of you. We can leave around sundown." Echo said with a smile. She frowned as Chiha spoke of her being so kind, a type of person he had supposedly never met before. "You've never met a kind person? I'm sure your appearance can be a bit intimidating, but there's always someone willing to look past that. It's not as if you run at them with homicidal intentions, yes?" Echo said a little perplexed.
There were many types of people and beings in this world. To say that not one that he had come across could be considered kind seemed sad to the vampyre. Either he had not seen enough of the world past this dense forest, or his appearances were more scary than they seemed to her.
