Korina sat upon the ground, her back pressed against a rock with her eyes closed, breathing heavily. Her assault rifle leaned against the rock next to her, and despite the cold she was dressed in only navy style camo cargo pants and grey "wife beater" style tank top that hugged her toned body and accentuated her bosom nicely. She couldn't ever remember being this tired in her life. Being an ex-navy girl she had always had excellent endurance and strength, but lately, she just could not seem to catch her breath and she got so tired easily.

The Rockies were nothing like the warming embrace of the Amazon, but they were unique in themselves. A completely different climate meant a different ecosystem and resources, giving Ciriel a chance to explore more of the world around her. Of course with the dropping temperatures, it meant that finding food was much harder. But it was a challenge she was willing to take.
Fortunately there were fewer humans out in this area, meaning that she didn't have to hide too much. Though with the lack of edible plant life (apart from a few bitter tasting acorns she had found), she had been forced to hunt animals to sustain herself. All she had to use was her katana, and with the lower temperatures, there were fewer and fewer critters out during the daytime that would serve as a viable meal.
Moving through the treetops, she kept her eyes glued to the ground in search of a quick meal, whens he spotted a figure, seemingly huddled against a rock. She paused her movement, sheathing her sword as she took a second look at the figure. Sure enough, she recognized it as a human. Ciriel was not one to bother them, but she couldn't help but think this one needed help. They just seemed so cold, perhaps this one was hurt.
But then she remembered her wings. She had nothing to conceal them with, except perhaps with the blanket she had been carrying in her makeshift bag. But this person needed it more than her. So carefully and cautiously, she descended from the tree, removing the blanket from her bag, and slowly approaching the woman, offering it to her in silence while keeping her wings folded tightly against her back. Perhaps she would not see them and question her about what she was.
Korina heard soft footsteps and her hands instantly shot out, grasping her rifle and jerking the barrel upwards to aim upon the being as a reflex action even before her eyes had fully opened. However, upon seeing another quite magnificent female who was doing nothing but approaching and offering a blanket Korina slowly lowered her weapon and smiled.
"Thank you dear but I am not cold. Just a tad bit tired." She smiled, pushing herself upwards off the rock and sighed. She took not of the wings behind the female and frowned. "Wow, those are really pretty. I think that clearly stats you are not a human. A guardian angel perhaps?" She said it half jokingly, but also half seriously.

Ciriel jumped slightly as the first response she got from the woman was a gun to the face. She didn't quite understand what she was pointing at her, but the way she reacted made her think it was some sort of weapon. Though just as quickly she lowered it, allowing Ciriel some leniency on returning to her original position. Unfortunately the woman seemed quick to point out that she was not like her, and so allowed her wings to return to their more relaxed position.
"Y-Yeah..." she replied, trying to recall the different words she had learned while initially studying the humans. She hadn't quite mastered the English language, but she had learned enough to be able to communicate as though she was normal. "Thanks... I never show them to anyone." Ciriel replied, giving the woman a small smile from her compliment, before rubbing the back of her head. "I'm not a human... but I do not know what a 'guardian angel' is either. Could you explain it to me?" she asked the woman, trying to make herself seem less threatening. Of course, the large katana sitting in the sheathe at her side likely didn't help with the situation, though she figured so long as she didn't draw attention to it, she would be fine.
"My name is Ciriel..." the angel added, having come up with the name herself after the third day of being on this world. She didn't know what else to call herself, not having remembered any name she had before. But somehow the words just seemed... right, as if they were able to slip from her tongue with ease.
Korina smiled, reaching behind her and slipping her weapon across her back where she usually kept it for easy access. This angel didn't know it, but she would not have fired upon the female anyways. The grenade like bullet would have killed the angel of course, but also injured Korina pretty grievously and she probably would have bleed to death up in these mountains. However this angel was seemed friendly enough and so she had no worries and even decided to answer her question.
"My name is Korina. As to a guardian angel, it is supposedly an angel sent to guard certain people and things from coming to harm for whatever heavenly influence that person or thing has. They are good beings, with strong powers."

Fortunately it seemed as if this woman was going to be friendly, which was a positive change for Ciriel. The last and only other time she had revealed what she was to another, they had fled into the forest, screaming and panicking about how she wasn't human. She hadn't seen that human since, but considering it had been in the middle of the night, she figured the human must have been killed by the wild things that lurked in the forest.
"I see... I don't recall why I'm here though... I'm just here." Ciriel explained with a slight frown, wondering if this was perhaps her calling. Maybe she was to exist to help people, though with her past experience that would be difficult, since the human culture didn't seem to exactly approve upon things that weren't human. "What sort of things do they protect people from?" she asked, wondering just what exactly she was to prepare for. Perhaps she was to help guard people from some sort of evil, but her powers hardly seemed to reflect this. All she could do was move to some random place in the blink of an eye, and aid plants in their growth with a single hand. Hardly the powers associated with some sort of guardian. More of a gardener rather, or someone that protected nature.
Maybe that was it: perhaps she wasn't supposed to specifically help humans, but perhaps all living things. Perhaps her purpose on here was to help further the cause of life itself, and protect it from those who would seek to destroy it for personal gain or satisfaction.
