Antitheists History The Antitheists are a relatively new organization founded in May of 1696; exactly three years after the last of the Salem Witch Trials. The Salem Witch Trials were the product of Ishtara's work. Being the Goddess of Truth and Purity, Ishtara found the way the witches 'honoured' the Gods as foul and struck against them. Three surviving witches of unequalled beauty conspired and concluded that the Gods were immature, petty, undeserving of the power they wielded so clumsily like a group of three-year-olds. The Antitheists were founded. The three founders were Marisa, Liza, and Gertrude, who operated their organization as a triumvirate. Back when they had been in favor with the Gods, they had made pages of parchment written with a few words only that were imbued with amounts of the power of the Gods. These would later be known as spellbooks. They gathered an army to them and used their tomes to enchant weapons and armor so that they could cause permanent harm to the Gods and not be directly affected by the Gods' own might. Using 'Ake-Habi', one of the three Scrolls of Opening, they created a nexus to the Heavens. They surprised the Gods and actually managed to kill a handful of them before the Gods realized that their armour must've been enchanted. The Gods, understanding they could not directly harm them, created nooses out of thin air around the necks of the witches and hung them from trees that sprouted up. However, the revolution is far from over. Marisa escaped and returned to Earth to rebuild her shattered Faction, bringing with her two items stolen from the corpses of two Goddesses she slew herself. The first, a gown of beautiful diamond-white gems that was razor-sharp to touch on the outside, essentially impossible to destroy, yet comfortable to wear, extremely flexible, and lightweight. The second was the Staff of Enlightenment that was created of microscopic particles called protrobes (you'll hear about them on the news in another 63 years and four days). It was literally light as a feather but had great searing, slicing power and (because protrobes are so small and bond so well) was also unbreakable. It had a mind and will of it's own, acting as a sort of pet for the wielder, allowing for faster reaction times and a "bond" of sorts, until placed down. Upon Marisa's return, she declared herself in charge from then on and began gaining new followers in secret, calling herself 'Forsaken'. Purpose Kill the Gods. Replace the Gods. Note that if you do manage to kill a God, your character will become a God, but will not be an admin or moderator. Note that there will be certain restrictions and rules, to avoid powerplay, and breaking them means forfeiting your God. Requirements Must have a passion against the Gods and be loyal to the Forsaken above all others. Ranks Leader: Forsaken - Decided by duels within the Faction - the strongest, of course, is honored with the title of Forsaken. Sub-Leader: Exile (Tier Three Spells Attained) Elders: Desolate (Tier Two Spells Attained) Trusteds: Outcast Members: Abandoned (Tier One Spells Attained) Spells When one applies to become one of The Antitheists, the Gods will abandon them, stripping all of their abilities from them except for Innate Abilities and Stat-Based Abilities. When one is stripped, however, all points that had been used on those abilities will be returned to whoever applied. These points can then be used to purchase Spells, which are scrolls of paper that have been empowered with divinity, making the words embedded on the parchment have effects on various things when incanted properly. After being used, however, the scroll will disappear and another scroll must be obtained to perform such an act again. It is the fact that the scroll is empowered that allows the spell to function. The power draining from the paper so quickly results in the paper being dissolved. Simply speaking the words without a scroll in one's hands, held out before you properly. Purchase scrolls in the Power Upgrade section. Scroll of Durability: Can be used on a weapon to make it extremely durable, to the point where it almost never breaks. (Tier One) Scroll of Reinforcement: Can be used on clothes, armor, or weapons to make them immune to direct attack from others via use of magical abilities. (Tier One) Scroll of the Doppelganger: Makes the user appear as, smell as, and be a perfect copy of whoever the reader has in their head at the time of invocation of the Scroll. (Tier One) Scroll of Protection: Makes an impenetrable forcefield enclose around the caster, and any directly nearby. However, the caster must destroy it in order to leave it. The caster may also suffocate if in there for too long. (Tier Two) Scroll of Paralysation: Makes a targeted individual silent in a sort of terrified immobilization for an hour and a half. (Tier Two) Scroll of Duplication: Makes a clone copy of any individual it is cast upon that is completely compliant to the reciter until it's death. A duplicate has the prior memories of whoever it is a copy of, though it knows it is a copy. It does not gain the abilities of the original. (Tier Two) Scroll of Dissolution: When read, the scroll will dissolve into acid and project forward for 25 yards, consuming anyone (and anything) in it's path. (Tier Three) Scroll of Fluxation: Creates a moderate-sized explosion of high power capable of killing any being, except a God. (Tier Three) Scroll of Ground-Shattering: When incanted, this dangerous scroll unleashes a loud blast of sound with a three-fold effect. Firstly, the high-pitched part of the blast is so shrill that it bursts the eardrums of all within a 50-yard radius and can shred the bare flesh of any creature within the same radius. The medium-pitch aspect is so strong that it effects all creatures in a short range (25 yards) to be affected as if a concussion blast had been felt. Pacemakers and similar machinery is disrupted by this blast and anyone prone to seizures or arrhythmic heart patterns may have a seizure, heart-attack, or stroke induced upon their person. Finally, the low depths of the sound is so blasting that it creates an earthquake of great magnitude for one mile in every direction. The reader of this scroll is not directly affected by the blast of sound. (Forsaken Only) Scroll of Rending: Causes an individual target to immediately develop an irresistible addiction to suicide. The affected will have a psychological need to kill himself/herself. (Forsaken Only) Scroll of Soul-Binding: Self-explanatory. Binds the soul of a target to an item, allowing the abilities of the victim to be tapped into while one wears/holds that item. An item can only be imbued with one soul. Can be used on Gods. (Forsaken Only) Tier One: 50 points Tier Two: 100 points Tier Three: 125 points Forsaken Only: 150 points Scroll of Soul-Binding: 275 points |
