Ciel looked from Rachael, to Thanatos, her eyes finally landing on the all too familiar voice of Rennia. Her breath got caught in her throat, she'd told Rennia of Thanatos but hadn't talked to Thanatos yet about the deamon woman. Her eyes darted from one to the other to the last. She was getting an urge, though not her normal urge but an urge to run. To get away from things that held to much emotion, to much anger. She looked at Thanatos and bit her lip, "I'm trying..." She said her lip quivered, she knew she was in trouble if she didn't learn what she was supposed to from Thanatos.
She looked at Rennia, "This is my teacher..." She said quietly before looking at Thanatos, "I'll explain her later..." Ciel sighed and held her chest before looking back at Rachael, "I-i'm sorry for this." Said more out of a need to be polite than actually being sorry.

You know that feeling? The one that makes you feel like you’re floating in the world, like you’re having an out of body experience and have no control over your limbs and movements, the one where you’re trapped with your thoughts and in a completely surreal reality. This is how Rae felt at that moment in time. In the last four seconds the number of occupants in this room had doubled and the information that was being passed between them was frazzling her brain. Rae, though she sat a little dumbly at that moment, was actually an intelligent being. She was great with computers and clever with robotics, she had a good understanding of fundamental and advanced science and she had survived in this world on her own for some time, but something about this gathering of people seemed more than a little strange, even to her. Of course, the hooded figure registered to her as another reaper perhaps that was the reasoning for her confusion. Wasn’t the conscious always depicted as life and death? Angel and devil, the grim reaper and St Peter? This- this was far from that…and it messed with her understanding of the world. Rae found herself ogling, thoughtlessly and sitting bolt-still for too long as the seconds passed. She wasn’t even aware she had been addressed as she lost herself in momentary insanity. And to think that her night has started out so differently….
“Perhaps I should…leave you to your teachings?” She murmured, glancing at Thanatos, then at the other figures. “But you shouldn’t be so harsh with her, she may have saved my life this evening…” Rae wasn’t sure if she believed that to be true. Granted the other girl had saved her in a way, definitely from a messy and uncomfortable evening of horror, but her life? Would she had been so paralysed with fear she would not defend herself? Rae did not wish to know the answer to that question.

The black hood soon lit up with a pair of faintly glowing red eyes that seemed to materialize out of nowhere. They first followed the reaper, watching him from where she sat semi-perched on the railing. A faint chuckle escaped from her as she heard the man's reply, and gave a slight tilt of her head. As he finished her eyes shifted over to Ciel as she began to explain the situation. The woman remained silent for a moment, musing at what the woman said before she looked back at Thanatos. By now he'd already shuffled over to her and inquired about her bow.
Again the woman spoke, and like before the voice was soft and had a certain melody to it, but in the very same instance it was devoid of emotion and cold. It was like the bittersweet voice of a singer who did not feel the song. Despite it's soft tone, the voice seemed to fill the room regardless, carrying behind it some hidden weight. "Ah Thanatos, yes... You certainly look the part." She indeed specified looked the part. It was true that Ciel had told her of Thanantos, but she had learned more the moment she connected with the shifter. The surface thoughts that had traveled back to Thanantos when she touched her, left her with more than just a name and his status in her life. It left her with an image of the being. "The girl might be under your guidance, but she is under my protection. I would highly advise against from even threatening her with death, as I really do dislike chasing people down outside of those I'm sent after." She gives a sigh at that point. "There's so much explaining that has to be done and it is just unpleasant. So as a courtesy... Please do spare me the time."
After she had made her point on Ciel's life, she let her gaze wander over to the bow in her hand. Another chuckle escaped her and she slowly shook her head. "It is a relic of the old world. I should think someone such as yourself should know that well enough. It has different songs to sing, of the future... and the past. There are thousands upon thousands of stories it could tell, if given the time." Rennia's fingers shifted on the bow, tightening their grip momentarily before relaxing once again
Finally she turned her attention over to Rae, the other person in the room. The fiendling would give a nod over towards the woman in a sign of respect before she gave her own comment towards Rae. "I do apologize for the intrusion. I merely came to ensure the safety of one of my investments. It would be somewhat aggravating to lose her so soon after all the time and money put in. As for her saving you.... I suppose that'll be an interesting story she'll have to tell me some time." Her tone shifted as she turned her gaze back towards Ciel as she spoke on the woman saving Rae. It carried a very faint underlying hint to it that she would indeed be very interested to know what that was all about.
Shaking his head he looked over at the rest of them he tried to ignore the requiem he was hearing. Looking at Rae when she spoke. “But you shouldn’t be so harsh with her, she may have saved my life this evening…”
"Yes.. She did good." Looking over at Rennia he spoke. "She shouldn't fear death from me. I'm the only thing that will stop the ones she truly has to worry about." Turning to face Ciel he walked over slowly. "I do not care if you kill for this woman, just make sure the kills are in the right name."
Looking over at the cloaked girl he saw the eyes and spoke. "She kills in the name of Varos for balance. Otherwise you and her may meet your untimely ends.. No this is not a threat, it is a warning that I hope you heed."
Walking over towards Rae slowly he spoke to her softly. "No need to leave my dear." Seeing Morrigan on her shoulder he reached out and stroked her breast softly and watched her ruffle her feathers before relaxing them. "She has taking a liking to you, last time we met she flew to you as well."
"Now yes it is I that needs to apologize. I was a little harsh with Ciel, but I need to be with her or she wont get it. When we get the chance Ciel I must speak to you about some matters." Walking past Rae he slowly sat down on the couch. Resting the scythe against his shoulder the blade slowly spun around to face the ground.

Ciel looked between the group. A panic had set in her that she'd not let show. She closed her eyes for a few moments. She looked at Rae, "P-please don't leave." She managed to stutter out. Ciel then turned her eyes to Rennia listening to the way the woman spoke about her made her smile. She felt like Rennia understood how Ciel felt to herself, to bad Demetria couldn't figure out that they really were an investment. She then looked at Thanatos, she listened carefully nodding when appropriate, and looking to Ren as he spoke to Rae. When he finished she turned back to him, walking over to him, she left Ren and Rae standing as they were for the moment. She sat on the opposite couch, "What do you need to talk about, Sir?" it could be noted that her voice had changed from the sentence earlier, where as that one was scared and full of emotion this one was cold calculating. She crossed her legs and watched Thanatos, wondering what he could possibly need to speak to her about. She chewed the inside of her lip and thought on what he said,
I was a little harsh with Ciel, but I need to be with her or she wont get it.
He wasn't wrong. She didn't exactly get it when people were nice to her, it actually made her more confused when she wasn't getting yelled at. She wondered for a moment if that was why she had to kill that man, she'd been good for so long, only killing those that were allowed, she'd not been yelled at.

Rae would’ve been entirely more comfortable with this situation if she had found herself in it on a usual day. A usual day for Rae included breakfast or some description, clothes that were not pj’s or a slutty thin blue dress and the company of her weapons (both a gun and knives she carried) and her dog; Eli. Today, this evening, in light of all the events that had come to pass, Rae was not having a usual day, her day was unusual completely. She had not eaten for nearly 48 hours, she was dressed in black and sweet sating pj’s that belonged to her host and she was without any of her defences and without her companion. Rae felt very thrown into the middle of all of this.
"I do apologize for the intrusion. I merely came to ensure the safety of one of my investments. It would be somewhat aggravating to lose her so soon after all the time and money put in. As for her saving you.... I suppose that'll be an interesting story she'll have to tell me some time."
Rae did not comment immediately as she was not sure what to say. The Reaper came close to her, and she watched him, unflinching with the dove. She was a beautiful bird and as she was addressed, Rae spoke quietly; “Yes, I remember.” She whispered, reaching up also to gently touch the underbelly of the bird in gentle reverence.
”Please don’t leave”
Didn’t those words bind her here? Rae had allowed the girl to pity her, had allowed the other to rescue her, in her own fashion and Rae clearly owed the other woman. She wet her lips, aware that this was one of those supernatural moments when it was best not to be the only hunter in the room. It was one of those moments where she would do well to sit and listen and watch and wait. With the bird on her shoulder she felt touched and honoured, with the request that she stay lingering in the air she felt obliged, so Rae did as she was bid. She sat a little away from them, at the desk in the room.
After much thought, she spoke; “Everyone makes mistakes.” She said, gently. “Even you, Thanatos, must make mistakes. If you are teaching her then you must expect her to fail at least once or twice or she would not need your tutelage. In that, you surely pardon her behaviour this time?” Her eyes flickered to the hooded figure, and she added; “Does the same not apply to you? Investments are not sure-things, but they require time and energy- if this; if she, displeases you then surely it is not a reflection on her, but a reflection on your own short comings?”
These were brave and clever words, but Rae did not feel particularly brave or clever as she spoke them.

Those red eyes followed the reaper as he made his rounds talking to the others. When he turned his attention back on her, his words made one eye shift as the brow perked. Despite her intrigue, she spoke with the same neutral emotion she had from before. "You would do well to consider your words more wisely Thanatos, disciple of Varos. I care not who you are, or who you work for. I for one do not like threats, nor do I like lies. Or, if you will, a stretch of the truth. I feel I should, in turn, point out, that if you move to carry out this... 'warning' that, whether or not you succeed... I will be the least of your problems. I suggest you remember that, and mind your own business. She will kill who she is told to kill. Everyone dies for a reason. I would think that a follower of Varos would know that. And before you make a remark about me minding my business. Her physical health is a concern of mine, and if you threaten it, I do mind."
When the two wandered off, the woman's gaze would slowly come to level on Rae. "I think you misunderstand why I am here. When I notice something amiss with my new investment. I will come to make sure if everything is alright. I would not sit by while someone I don't know strikes out at her. For all I know he could have been sent here to kill her. Now that I know who he is, I very much do not feel that will happen, but that is neither here nor there. As for a reflection upon me? I would disagree highly. She is her own person. Her successes and failures are her own. Indeed if he is her teacher I would say he more responsible than I. All I can do is impress upon her what it is I desire of her. In this case, she has performed well enough... barring a few... minor details. I do not question her actions, merely his. But you are a clever one aren't you?" She chuckled as she paused for a moment, slowly shaking her head.
"I use investment in a loose sense. I've taken quite a risk with her, and spent a considerable amount of money. I could have easily left her the way I intended to initially... in which case she would not have been here to help you. She would have been back in her home, being confined to bed as a vegetable. I figured she would be more partial to being able to use her muscles, and figured her gratitude would be shown by doing as I ask. Or so she vowed to me." She looked over towards the two as she continued to talk, wondering what the two were chatting about.
He nodded and remained silent as the girl spoke to him.
“Everyone makes mistakes.” She said, gently. “Even you, Thanatos, must make mistakes. If you are teaching her then you must expect her to fail at least once or twice or she would not need your tutelage. In that, you surely pardon her behavior this time?”
"Yes.. Even I. I have already pardoned her." Turning his head back to look at Ciel he spoke. "I am leaving for a while. I will be back in a few months time. I hope you will only kill the wicked and those who deserve it.."
Turning his head he looked at Rae and Morrigan as he spoke. "Things have been.. Somewhat well for you I hope?" Glancing over at Rennia as the songs of the dead were still playing he had to ignored them to concentrate. They were so captivating. "I do not wish for Ciel to die just as much as you do.. I would like to see her alive and well.." Reaching over without looking he held his hand out, Morrigan climbed on it happily. Bringing her down to his lap, she hopped off onto his leg, he pulled out the small bag of bird seed. Opening it slowly he set it in front of her, she began pecking away and eating the seeds.

Ciel looked at Thanatos shocked, and then, then he just stood up and talked to Rae as if Ciel hadn't just been told that her teacher was leaving. She looked down and took a deep breath, she was getting to emotionally involved in this. She needed to step away. Ciel walked out of the room onto the balcony closing the door behind her she sits up on the cement bannister and overlooked the city. She was angry that he was leaving but didn't understand why. Why did she care that Thanatos was going away for while, and if he never came back, what was it to her? She looked down wow they were high up. That annoyingly sweet voice popped up in the back of her head, Face it sweety you care about it. You feel abandoned.[/i] Ciel growled and answered the voice aloud, "I do not care if he leaves..." She sighed and leaned forward a little though her balance kept her from falling.

Rae watched and listened and nodded her responses. She was a quiet girl who, though she didn’t talk much, was gentle and patient. These were somewhat unusual qualities for a hunter and yet they seemed to do her well. Rae blushed when she was called clever and she glanced to Ciel when Thanatos spoke to her. This was not her problem. Her problem, for want of a better word, had been solved. With slightly pink cheeks the girl gave a careful smile and an even more timid answer to them all.
“I’m not here to get in anyone’s way. You clearly all have some business together and I- got caught up in the middle of that. I am grateful to Ciel for what she did tonight but I do not want to cause offense here.”
If she’d known Ren was a daemon her response may have been a little different, but for now, she was happy not knowing, perhaps even kidding herself not to know.
"Things have been.. Somewhat well for you I hope?"
She shook her head a little; “There is a lot that has happened since our last meeting, though things have been ‘somewhat’ well at times.”
Then Ciel left the room and Rae was a little shocked, she stepped back and away from the other two uncomfortably. “I think I will take my leave-“ The huntress said, glancing at the balcony area. Her dress was still hung there, drying, but she could leave without it. It would not be missed.

Rennia said nothing to the reaper's latest comment, merely offering a shrug before her eyes turned in the direction of Rae at her reply. Finally they swiveled over towards Ciel as she came marching out onto the balcony and slammed the doors. Rennia looked towards said doors for a moment before giving another faint shrug.
Afterward Rennia would remain quietly perched upon the railing. For a while she kept her gaze forward, not saying anything to the other woman that was out here with her upon the balcony. Finally she broke the silence, asking a question to Ciel without looking in her direction. "So that was your teacher, Thanatos, huh? Looks like he said something pretty upsetting." She let the question hang in the air either until it was either answered or a good minute or two of silence had passed by. Whether it was answered or not, Rennia would reach up to pull her hood down before slowly turning her gaze over towards the other woman.
"So what's the deal with the girl? It sounds like there's a story there, so I'd like to hear it." There was no anger or agitation in her voice, merely curiosity. As she waited for a reply for either question, she would lift the bow upward and tilt it to the side across her lap. Her gaze fell towards it as her free hand ran along the relating limb. She gave a soft sigh as her thoughts wandered over the last time she'd used the weapon... Too long.
He watched as Ciel got up and walked out of the room and into the balcony, closing the door behind her. Looking at her through the glass he turned to look at Rae as she spoke. “There is a lot that has happened since our last meeting, though things have been ‘somewhat’ well at times.” "Hmm.. That is good." He said as he slowly stood up and saw the woman was uneasy and wanting to leave. "Do not worry. I am not here for long." Seeing her looking at something he turned his head to see the dress. Nodding he spoke as he looked back over to her. "It is just us now. Tell me, since the last time we met have you offered to use your self as bait again?"
Waiting a bit before speaking again. "I when I return I hope we see each other again. I would like to sit down and have a conversation with you one day. I'm always open to hear good stories."

Ciel sat quietly for a little bit, her thoughts escaping her, she leaned forward a little more, showing her pretty amazing balance before leaning back and looking at Rennia her head tilted far enough back that she was practically upside down on the bannister. "He did. He's leaving for a while. Leaving me to my own devices, but that isn't what upset me, he treated it with so much nonchalance, like his leaving shouldn't effect me at all. Guess I shouldn't be to upset, and I suppose I'm not. Demetria is... Demetria is devestated." She said before going back to leaning forward looking down at the street that was so many stories below her, "Ah the girl, now that is an interesting story." She replied with a smile.
She thought on what to say before moving to stand up on the bannister of the balcony. Her body had a cats like grace to it right now, fluid and almost beautiful. Sometimes she was clumsy, others she was perfectly calm. Every persona had a different personality, everyone a different background, but this right now, this was Jynx the Cat, mostly used for stealing rather than for killing, "She went to the room with me, she had no where to go tonight so I let her stay with me, at least until you decided what to do with her." There was a slight purr in her voice, it was so soft and subtle her voice almost a whisper that most would miss, but she knew that Rennia would hear. Jynx loved curling up to Rennia late at night.

"It is just us now. Tell me, since the last time we met have you offered to use yourself as bait again?"
Rae flushed, shaking her head a little bit at his question. She watched the proud and gentle Reaper, unafraid of him. But, it was true, they were alone and she came and sat at his feet. Like a child, sat at the feet of her grandfather. She didn not reach to touch him, did not look for comfort from him, but she sat contently on the floor.
“I like to get myself into situations I can’t get myself out of, you know that.” She smiled a little, pretending everything was easier than it was.
"I when I return I hope we see each other again. I would like to sit down and have a conversation with you one day. I'm always open to hear good stories."
Rae looked down at her lap, picking a little curl of fluff off the pj’s she was wearing. They didn’t belong to her, but were from the girl. Still, they felt comfortable on, if not a little big on her slender tiny frame. For a moment she looked thoughtful then she looked up at the Reaper before she said, gently; “I’m being hunted.” She told him, “Obtuse, isn’t it? The Hunter being hunted.”
“The man who is hunting me caught up to me, I find myself here tonight because this is where he put me. Like a figurine in a chess match, he moved me into this position. In the morning, he will come to get me and he will realise that the man he entrusted me to this evening was killed by that girl out there-“ She nodded towards the balcony where the girl was.

Rennia watched Ciel in silence, not quite able to comment about the reaper, at least not in a way she thought Ciel would approve of. She considered telling her that's how life tended to go, but that could go without being said. At length she simply shrugged and gave a simple statement. "I think it'll work out alright."
Then there was the comment about the girl. Rennia didn't know enough about Rae other than the fact she thought herself particularly witty. She did have something about her, though Rennia wasn't sure if she was as good as she seemed to exude that she thought she was. Still, that proved to be a bit bothersome. The girl had seen what Ciel had done, and Rennia began wondering what all Ciel had said about it. "Until I decide what to do with her? Gee, leaving that up to me? Are you sure that's a good idea? You know what I'm prone to well enough. What all does she know?"
The daemoness tilted her head as she watched Ciel balancing on the rail, those red eyes following every subtle movement as she considered what she would do with the two inside if worse came to worse. Thanatos seemed like he would be a possible problem, though the other woman gave Rennia the feeling she would be easily dealt with. She muses inwardly as she listens to Ciel's reply, if she gives one.
