"You barge into my home, tell me Rachelle is Sick... In the arms of her Uncle... "
“I didn’t barge in.”
She turned to face him fully; her hands at her sides, looking like something of a Roma Gypsy wagon, but not looking in anyway to be a threat. Her eyes were perplexed as she watched him, the large jade orbs content on his face as he seemed to swirl in anger. “I mean, I was invited, in a roundabout way.” She smiled at him. “You sent your friend an email, but it didn’t have her name in it or nothing, I read it and here I am. I didn’t barge in, I simply am here.”
Still the smile remained, growing a little as he apologised to her. “I came because I was invited, Mister.” She repeated, but she nodded; “I mean, I’m sure I could tell you about your friends situation if you wanted me too, but we’re both servants of the Great Goddess Varos, are we not? Surely we should be friends not enemies?” Khali was a trickster, she liked fun and games and weaving lies and tails. She served Varos, of course she did, but she was not a being of balance, she served all of the Gods and was designed to serve them until she was killed, hunted and destroyed with her beautiful features as a puny reward.
But she did not give thought to that now as she smiled at him, openly, her face appearing honest.
"It is quite shockin' to be in an almost fortress to suddenly have some one in it..."
“Perhaps you perseve it as a fortress because you are human?” she asked him, innocently. “I mean, I’m not, in case the pair of you haven’t already put two and two together and come up with that answer.” She did not have any intention of telling him what she was, even if she did she would not tell him the truth, but Khali did not make a habit of giving much away, she could talk and talk and talk and yet find that she had said nothing at all of any use. It was something that this disguise was particularly good at.
Tucking her hair behind her ears once more she kept her smile firmly locked in place and those gorgeous jade eyes firmly locked on his.
“Hello Adam”
"May I ask who you are and where I might find Rae..."
“You may ask” Khali said, unsure as to what answer she would decide to give him yet.
But he persisted
"So... who are you? What are you, and what can I do for you?"
Well it gave her the opportunity to play her favourite game, didn’t it? “My name is Khali, Mister.” She told him. This was the truth, to some respect, after all, the best lies had truth within them. Everything she told him was true, but it was not the whole truth and he would not find himself likely to learn the whole truth. Khali had not moved an inch, stood still, incredibly so, her cat-like mannerisms keeping her calm.
“I am a fire elemental.” She told him. This was also, sort of, truth. She had the power of pyromania as a fire elemental would, so if he asked for proof she could show him, but it was by far a stretch from herself. But then, telling someone that you were a Sphinx and a Guardian to the Gods themselves usually caused more chaos than it was worth. As he places the gun down and sits she relaxes a little bit, watching the man and the dog and girl as she speaks once more.
“You’re friend is at her Uncles house, though she won’t be there for long I imagine. She has visited Shanghi and has been given a gift that she cannot return.” Khali spoke; “Varos, the great and beautiful, has not decided how long she shall allow this product of chaos to live…”
A wicked idea came to her, and she wondered how quickly Varos would catch up to her and punish her as she planted the seeds in the air. “Of course, when Varos is displeased, us agents of her balance find ourselves with a lot of work to do, don’t we?” She smiled, glancing once more between the three strangers in the room.
