Adam is gunning it down the highway, pushing one twenty for a vast majority of the time. He had passed cop cars and punched it harder to one sixty. It had been roughly a couple of months since the events in Alaska had taken place and he retreated to the Canadian wilderness to work out. It had even been longer since he was at the shop last. He turned off the road and swapped the plates then continued a few times in the past few days since he finished his training and started to haul ass.
He enters the familiar town as he slowly pulls up to the garage that for some reason, sadly, was the closest thing to home he had. The familiar noise of a motor coming up, tires slowly stopping, truck door opening, and engine shutting off rang outside as he slowly walked up to the door. Each step was heavier as he clanked and jingled the whole way. His sunglasses hid his eyes while the serious tone of his face stayed focused on the ground. His hood is up and his scruff is stubbly. He knocks on the door and waits. He had no idea why he was here but he felt he needed to talk to the duchess as he has now deemed is a fitting name for the deamoness. Adam needs to talk about what happened and, what pains him the most in admitting, advise on what to do.

Surprisingly the little red Corvette was nowhere to be seen when Adam pulled up. It wasn't, however, devoid of vehicles all together. There were in fact, more there than usual, likely belonging to other employees who worked there, or possibly customers visiting the shop. When the knock came, the door was opened, this time by an unfamiliar man. He would let Adam inside the office, which had another person as well as what was most likely a staff member in it. It was slightly cramped, but not so much one felt their personal space bubble being invaded.
Through the window, Adam would be able to see that the Chevelle had been replaced with a top-fuel dragster. It had had been lifted off the ground and placed onto what appeared to be a special mount that bolted into the floor in recessed ports. There were several people gathered around the dragster, messing with it's engine and various other drivetrain parts as they tweaked the machine. After a few minutes, the machine roared to life. The rough idling machine was far louder than either Adam's truck, or Rennia's Corvette. It created enough noise even to cause things within the office to rattle and the shop floor to rumble. After a minute it was shut back off and they began tweaking it again.
In the meantime, the pair of staff within the shop turned their attention to Adam, waiting to see what it was that the man wanted with them. Of course, none of them had seen him ride up, or they might have been able to make out the handiwork that had been done at that very shop. There was also notably no sign of Kristen in the shop, save for one or two of the photographs with said woman standing in them.

Adam seems displeased as he looks around and notices the only trace of the woman is the photos. "Hello men... Have you by chance seen...This..." He points to the picture with kristen in it. "Lovely lady recently? I was told not to be a stranger...." He doesn't know if she actually said it but felt like she would so it only felt like a white lie. He looks around the shop as if he is window shopping after he spoke. His hands are behind his back, one holding the other, as he looks up at the men close by. "You can see the handywork of my last time here...." he nudges his head toward the door he came in from to where his black beast rested from it's journey. Adam continued to peruse the knick-knacks around as he then proceeded to pick up a picture to look at it. "Also one of her friends...the one with the red bullet....."
Adam brings his hands forward as he proceeds to put his hands under the ends of his jacket and pull them back. He sticks his hands in his pockets and seems to expose what his jacket is hiding. If he does this to threaten or simply because it's comfortable who knows. The men would see an Obsidian gun with silver inlay as well as a heap of magazines on bandoleers. Well at least the men saw parts of these things.

The men looked between each other as Adam spoke before looking back at him. It was clear they knew who he was talking about, but weren't quite sure what to tell him at the moment. Neither of them seemed rather disturbed by the sight of what was beneath Adam's jacket, but given whom they knew this wasn't exactly a surprise.
Fortunately neither of them really needed to come up with an excuse, for a minute after Adam stopped speaking, a faint rumble began to work it's way through the walls and door of the office. The rumbling would grow louder and louder as it's source grew closer and closer to the shop. After a few minutes the pitch would drop as the machine started to decelerate as it closed in on the shop.
Inside a red 1967 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, Rennia looked over into the shop parking lot only to see the tail end of what she knew instantly was Adam's truck. She tightened her grip on the steering wheel and glared at it for a moment. She thought about just continuing on down the road and even revved the engine a few times as she started leaning towards the thought. Finally she'd give a defeated sigh and let off the clutch. She'd suddenly push the gas and shortly after the brake, causing her rear tires to lose grip and begin to spin. Due to the power behind them, they would continue to spin, unable to catch grip as smoke began pouring from the rear wheels and their wells. Finally she let off the gas just enough for them to catch partial grip and she whipped the wheel around. The result was that the Corvette would roll forward only for it's rear end to whip around, swinging into the parking lot and coming a stop facing a full 270 degrees (or 90 if you go the opposite way) from the direction it was initially facing, and parallel to Adam's truck.
Rennia would give another sigh before she shut the car off, unbuckled her seat belt and stepped out of the car. Like before, Rennia felt able to expose herself more here, and thus this time was dressed in even less than she was last time Adam had seen her here. This time Rennia would have merely a bikini top which did very little for modesty, and in fact exposed two noticeable lumps underneath (Whatever they might be), and the same shorts she had worn last time, though the band of an equally small thong could be made out juuuust above the top of her shorts. She still of course had a pair of shoes on, her boots in fact, as neither barefoot or flip-flops were for driving. There would of course also be that familiar holstered Kimber at her side, seeming to be a constant with her, especially when she wasn't in her normal outfit. Her hair would also be notably soaked. It wouldn't be far fetched at all to believe she'd just come back from a swim in a lake.
Once outside the car, Rennia would come to a stop outside the front of the shop, not even bothering to go around the side and through the door. For now... she was content with bathing in the sun while she waited to see if Adam would come out.

Adam heard the stopping of what sounded like a car orgy outside. He opens the door to see the scantily clad deamoness and for once does not seem phased by the female body. His sunglasses cover his eyes but it was not needed cause he looked directly at hers. His voice is in a monotonic melody void of emotions oddly enough for this man. "Duchess... how goes... can I talk to you in private?" His hands kept a rest in his jean pockets. No threats or stutter to her tempting attire.
Adam had been training in the wilderness for a while and had plenty of time to think along with a few interesting happenings that has seemingly altered his personality, if only slightly. He removes his glasses as he puts them on his head to almost reveal an apathetic gaze in them. If Rennia didn't hear about what happened after she left the two of them alone in Alaska, she might start to wonder, maybe not care at all but still maybe wonder, what transpired afterwards.

Rennia ran a hand through her hair and took in a deep breath. She refrained from giving a sigh at his request for a talk and merely let it out slowly. If she noticed the lack of the look or emotion, she didn't show it. It might have possibly had to do with the lack of caring, or perhaps it was more to do with the fact she wasn't sure she really wanted to talk to him after the events that happened in Alaska. Her eyes looked off to the side as she gave a slow nod, resigning herself to his request. "Alright... get in." She nodded to the passenger side of her Stingray, and walked over to the driver side door.
Inwardly she was slightly intrigued that he managed not only to keep himself composed, but also that he managed not to flirt with her AND keep his eyes off her breasts. She didn't put much thought into the cause however, as she was fairly sure it had to do with the events in Alaska. Still it was an interesting change.
Rennia opened the door of her Corvette and slid into the driver's seat. She would buckle herself up and start the car, waiting for Adam to get in. If he instead chose to get into his truck, she'd look over at it before throwing her car into gear and taking off down the road. If he did get in, she would take her time as she pulled out, though once she was sure she wouldn't roast her tires again, she'd pick up the throttle somewhat. Once she'd gotten up to sixty-five, the speed limit on the road, she would throw it into fourth. At that point she'd rest her elbow against the frame of the open window, and lean her head on her hand as her right arm gripped the steering wheel. She made sure to shut the radio off so that Adam only had to speak over the loud engine, that was thankfully (For him) at a low RPM so it wasn't too extraordinarily loud. Meanwhile the expression on Rennia's face was one of Neutral contemplation, wandering from thought to thought as she maintained control of the vehicle hurtling down the road.

Adam's pace had changed but, like usual, she probably didn't show any caring. He got in her car and waited patiently till she seemed ready. "I'll save you the details but after you left all hell followed... but I must know... You said kristen liked me..." He turns to her. "To what extent?" He does not seem enthused but more worried, he didn't fully understand the workings of feeling quite yet. "And do you know of a man important you pet with a name beginning with a 'J' ?" Again the tone of his words are of concern and not anger. "I would hate for someone be like that over someone as fucked up as me....."
Adam has seemingly lost his over optimistic view of the world and seemed to have a different set of eyes to the world. His naivety was stripped from him, all of it, in one fell swoop and he seemed to worry about kristen partially cause he liked her, to what extend he didn't know, and because she was ren's friend. He figured he'd be on her good side especially since she is the one to build his truck. He needs her skills, and such with the way of the world, decided not to fuck something else up.

Rennia would pull her head off her arm as he started talking. She kept her face aimed forward towards the road, though her eyes would occasionally dart over to look at the man out of the corner of her eye between her observation of the road. Within her head Rennia began trying to word a reply for his question about Kristen. She wanted to be extremely careful with how she worded it, in case she gave Adam the wrong impression and either upset him, or made him hump Kristen's leg. It was definitely not an easy solution as she wasn't exactly the best person to talk to regarding emotions either.
When Adam suddenly asked about the man important to Ciel (her pet) that began with a J, she suddenly snapped to attention. In an instant her right foot had come off the gas, and her left foot firmly depressed the clutch. That right foot then shifted over and slammed on the brake pedal, pushing it down HARD. The effect was immediate as the modified 1967 Stingray suddenly decelerated. If Adam had any doubts to modern amenities having been placed on the car, they would soon be dispelled. Rennia had made sure to install anti-lock brakes in the vehicle, which prevented the tires from locking up completely. The car was also equipped with multi-pistoned brake calipers (Six on front, 4 on rear) and twenty inch cross-drilled rotors. This had the profound effect of allowing that car to practically stop on a dime. The two would be slammed into their seat belts (assuming they were made use of) as the car rapidly went from sixty-five miles an hour to zero in less than a hundred feet.
After being pushed back into their seats when the vehicle came to a full stop, Rennia sat there looking forward for a moment before snapping her gaze over at Adam. "What do you know about him?" Her words came out as a bark, and she made no attempt to elaborate on whether or not she knew who he was talking about, but the intense glare she was currently giving him might suggest that she did indeed know full well whom he was speaking of.

Adam seemed indifferent as he flew forward in his seat-belt and then once again as he was pulled back into his seat. He turned his gaze to Rennia when she gave the order. He stared at her for a little bit before he spoke "She almost called me by his name.. at least she started to call me by his name... why I only know that it starts with a 'J'..." He leans his head back in the seat as he pulls out an electronic cigarette. Jet black in color with the light at the end glowing a faint green when he started to inhale. "Why I ask about Kristen... You made it a point to mention she liked me and I wish to know to which extent so that if need be... I can fix it...." The vapor that slowly crept out of his mouth as he spoke was like a miasma. No scent and no traces of effects from it. The water vapor dissipates almost as quickly as it came into existence.

Rennia would stare intently at Adam for what might have seen like ages before she turned her gaze slowly back towards the road. She pushed the shifter back into second and let off the clutch slightly and then the brake, for a moment the car was semi-held in position as she started pressing upon the throttle. As the throttle advanced, she'd let off the clutch fully and the car would begin to roll forward again. There would be no roasting of the tires as the torque was applied to second gear instead of first. The car quickly began picking up speed but was nowhere near running flat out like Adam had seen before. When she finally got it up to speed again and shifted back down, she would finally answer his questions.
"His name is Jake, and that's all you need to know. Don't ask for more, I won't tell you more. If I find out you asked Ciel....." She would turn her head to gaze firmly at him. "I will kill you. Slowly. Am I clear?" As much as she'd have liked to keep looking at him until he replied, if his reply was not instant she would look back to the road she was driving upon, not interested in crashing her ride for something she hoped wouldn't be an issue. Afterward she'd remain quiet for a few minutes, wondering about what he said about her. "What did you say to make her do that? I can't say she strikes me as the type to forget names regardless of how little she knows them, or confuse people. So something you said must have been pretty something."
She didn't much like the idea of him smoking in her car, even if it was an electronic cigarette, but she kept her mouth shut about it, not even showing the agitation on her face. If Adam watched her, all he would really see is a daemoness concentrating on both the road ahead of her, and the things he had brought to her mind.

Adam finished his last, out of only a few, puff as he put the thing away. "I won't press it and I just wanted to know the name of who she pretended I was...." When she asks her next question he laughs a little. "I told her I didn't deserve anything or anyone special and then offered to stay in the room if she didn't want to be alone...." Adam proceeds to shake his head as he let the last bit of the laugh roll out of his mouth and then die. "She held her stomach as if she was getting sick and then told me I deserved... well.. She started to say this.. Jake deserved someone to love them...." He lets out one more chuckle. "So... figured I'd come to the goddess of apathy for some shedding of light and insight...." He had turned his gaze to the open road and back to her a few times but now he seemed focused on the road. "I'd also would rather be on your good side when I don't have the means to kill you in one blow." He said the last few words in a very joking manner as he turned with an equally joking smile. Seeming to try and get a snicker or simply a grin out of the woman.

Rennia slowly shook her head as Adam kept talking. "Christ....." She looked over at him for a moment, giving him that usual analytical gaze she tended to do. When he mentioned Jake again, she once more repeated her earlier maneuver and brought the car to another complete stop. If anything she was giving her car a good test of it's impressive brakes, which did miracles to bring the car to a complete stop in a very short span of time. Once stopped she would yet again stare at Adam.
"Let's make a few things clear, aight? One, I sincerely doubt she was even remotely pretending you were Jake. You're something, but you're not that special. Secondly... Enough with the pity crap. Really, It doesn't do you any favors. You sound like a depressed Emo kid who wants to be loved but pretends that they don't deserve to be." There was something of a specific irony to her statement in that Rennia had often times been like that before she had walled herself off. "Thirdly I lied, I'll give you a little bit more information. He did deserve to be loved, and lastly... You really need to learn how to act around women. I don't know how many girls you've behaved this way around, but there's a very limited amount of them who find it cute. Telling her you don't deserve to be loved? Ugh..."
Rennia turned back forward and shook her head. Visually she'd only give off a look of annoyance, which was probably one of the emotions she was feeling. If there were any others there they were well hidden and, barring supernatural powers or an extreme knowing of Rennia, would be impossible to pick up on. She gave a sigh and once again started the vehicle moving, quickly accelerating for a third time. Eventually, barring another full stop, they would come over a hill that overlooked a rather impressive lake. It certainly as big as the Great Lakes, but it was still fairly impressive in size. If one's eyes followed the road, they would notice that it would eventually lead them over the lake via the top of a dam, though unlike some dams, the gap of water levels between the two sides was a small one.

Adam's head bobs this time as he holds it. "Ugh..." He listens to Ren's words. In his mind he has figured out that Ren might have cared about this jake fellow or at least took pity and that through her apathy he felt Ren's words were correct and possibly from personal experience but he didn't know for sure.
Adam proceeds to rub his neck as he continues. "Thanks for the compliment and I get the hint... ugh... It's not like I do it to get girls... FUCK!" he rubs his neck more as she stops abruptly yet again. "Usually when women have led me to a room after being broody... they tried to kill me... I wasn't expectin' what happened...."He leans forward as he massages his neck before leaning back and looking over at the scene in front of him. "I'll take note of your words and reflect them well...." He still has a hand on his neck as he turns his head side to side to crack it. "I'm an asshole... you helped me realize that...." He proceeds to move his hand to the other side of his neck as he scans the scene now taking in all the information as he continues. "...but regardless.. noted... Stop feelin' sorry for myself... Please don't slam on the brakes like that again..." He spoke the words as if he already knew it.

Rennia gave another sigh as she continued driving. She made a mental note to check on her brakes some time soon. They were meant to be able to stop fast, but it had been a while since she'd put them on, and they weren't exactly designed for repeated sudden stops like that. They were probably fine, but Rennia was the type to believe that it was better to be safe than... well not so much sorry as dead.
At this point she'd gone back to resting her head against her upright arm that she'd placed on the frame of the window, simply choosing to listen to Adam now. She couldn't believe that the guy had so much trouble around women, but to be fair she supposed she had the unfair advantage of being one. Still, if she had cared she might have found the man cute. She definitely could see other women being attracted to him, and when he was being his normal self, other than his ignorance, which would have probably been missed by the majority of women out there today, he managed to pull off a bit of charm. At least, he had charm if one ignored his flirtatiousness. It wasn't so much the amount of flirting so much as the caliber of it. Rennia herself was hardly one to judge people on flirting too often, she was guilty of it at times herself. She couldn't exactly recall how many men she'd lead on until they tried to get into her pants. At that point she would inevitably shut them down. It wasn't so much that Rennia wasn't interested in men... No she imagined if things had been different she would have found herself enjoying a good roll in the hay with some hunk of a man. She'd just had bad experiences with them and allowed those numerous hotheads to jade her towards men in general.
Rennia whisked the thoughts out of her head as she pulled off the main road as they were closer to the lake. On the back roads she would continue navigating until they came to something of a beach parking lot. Once there Rennia would shut off the car before unbuckling herself and stepping out. Off in the distance was a short stretch of beach and a little pier. If Adam thought about it, it wouldn't be too much of a stretch to assume that this had been where Rennia had come from when she came back to the shop. Rennia would brush the hair out of her face as she looked back at Adam for a moment before turning back forward as she kept walking. Whether or not Adam followed her, Rennia would walk out to the end of the pier. There she untied her boots and pulled them off, carefully setting them behind her a fair distance from falling into the water. Afterward she'd tug off her shorts and carefully set them beneath her boots. Finally she'd plop down at the end of the pier, now clad in just that bikini, and lets her feet dip into the water.

Adam followed and decided to set his jacket and boots with her stuff. He rolled up his pant legs as he removed his socks to put in his boots. "Beautiful place" he speaks softly as he walks up to her and sits down next to her, his feet in the water. He decided to leave his guns by their stuff as well as well as his shirt at the last minute. His feet rested in the water with a sigh as he puts his hands back behind him. His body was far more muscular and slender than when she saw him last time. His training in the woods for a while paid off it seemed. "May I ask about your fiance... or will you put me in the car again and slam on the breaks." He muses the last part of his question but just simply seems to look for a way to pass the time. He proceeds to slide back and rest his head under the palms of his hands as he looked up, the sun reflecting off his sunglasses. "Or we can talk about whatever..." He finishes after he relaxes, now noticing her outfit, he pays her no mind however as he just watches the sky.
