Crusaders of Nysa History The Crusaders of Nysa was once known as the Council, and was established shortly after the revolution of the Antitheists, by the goddess Varos Talantos. As the keeper of balance, she saw the sorry state the world had been left in by the negligence of the Gods. Therefore, she hand-picked a single person from each race and formed the Council, to watch the world and aid in keeping her sacred balance intact. Since then she has chosen to never abandon earth to its own demise again, sparking the slow return of the Gods. The Council has been in place ever since. They have prevented and started wars, doing whatever action is needed to preserve the balance. Good and evil means nothing to them, and their symbol is Varos' silver scales, perfectly equal. To bless them, she bestowed upon each Keeper a replica of her sword; it appears chipped and dull, however is always sharp and can never be broken. The sword could only be wielded by its owner, as it shall burn all others. The Council was originally closed to only one of each race. However, with time it changed. Their purpose changed. Once only hidden in the background, with a small membership, the Council has evolved into a league of crusaders and hunters. They still remain fairly hidden on Earth, but have decided to let the other factions aware of their existence. With the discovery of Nysa, many have gone to the world to begin spreading their ideals, to keep the balance and help evolve the other world. They are becoming a powerful force in Nysa. They decided to spread their name, and the name of Varos. Although the Council’s intent was to better Nysa, power began to tempt them. More and more began to be rejected by the swords Varos had bestowed upon them. Exasperated, the Goddess decided to abandon them. The Council became known as the Crusaders of Nysa, with only it’s highest ranking members being called members of the ‘Council’. Many still worshipped the Goddess, but she refused to lead it. The Goddess did not punish them, as their cause was just and good, but did not believe it’s intention was to keep balance, but rather, peace. The Crusaders now serves only themselves, and are viewed as ‘saviors’ of the new world. The Crusaders are not evil, and does have the protection of others in mind, but without a Goddess to peer into their souls, the Council is as self-serving as any other faction. Purpose The purpose of the Council was once to keep balance in all worlds, keep supernaturals hidden on Earth and protect supernaturals from Hunters. However, with their shift in leadership, also came a shift in priorities. Their purpose is to colonize Nysa, and build walled cities. To hunt out of control and overpowered creatures, and aid the weak in need. They wish to become the ruling force in Nysa in order to do so. They patrol and protect the cities. Requirements Must be physically fit enough to traverse through Nysa and fight. Ranks One Leader: The Master. Elder: Peacekeeper. One of each race. Trusteds: Knight. Two of each race, also act as pupils to their Councilman. Members: Crusader Abilities Joining the Crusaders gives a +5 boost to Endurance. Upon being promoted to Peacekeeper, they still receive the Sword of the Crusader; a replica to Varos’ powerful sword, it appears chipped and dull, however is always sharp and can never be broken. The Sword of the Crusader may only be wielded by its owner, as it shall burn all others. It is bound to them by the Master, and if the Master decides one is no longer deemed fit as Keeper, they will lose the ability to wield the weapon. |
