Benjamin Locke was born the youngest of two boys. His early days were filled with lectures from his father about his lack of gratitude and what was expected of him. At the very beginning, it was made clear to Ben and his brother that they would grow up to be a respectable adults, find good wives, and have kids, though he never paid much attention, just nodding along until the lecture ended.
Ben never had any trouble with his work in school though he was occasionally disciplined for fighting and causing mischief. Bullies who mistook his relaxed, passive manner for weakness would often be in for a surprise, finding themselves running naked through the school or some other embarressing moment where they'd find they'd lost their ability to control themselves. Or, if Ben happened to be in a particularly bad mood, just plain bleeding on the ground from a busted nose.
During sophomore year, Bob, his older brother, left home and at almost the same time Ben's mother became fed up with his father's drinking problem and divorced him. He didn't see her much after that but he didn't care too much, imagining a life free from his parents control, envious of how stress free he imagined his brother's adult life to be.
With his father slowly drinking himself to death after losing his job and most of his family, Ben managed to get a full ride to a decent college. It was an eye opening experience for him and he managed to enjoy himself enormously. Away from his father, Ben grew used to pretending to be someone he wasn’t, enjoying the amusements he could provide himself while avoiding most responsibilities thanks to his abilities.
After graduating, he took a job as an accountant. Honestly, Ben is pretty shitty at his job and he isn't too fond of the work but he does it anyway, knowing he needs the structure.
Currently, he works as an accountant and spends a lot of his free time lazing around playing video games or just napping. That is, when he's not out making mischief to amuse himself.
