Lydia wiped off the cakey stage makeup and let her skin breathe. Then she stripped out of her magician costume and tossed it onto the foot of the bed inside her hotel room. Much better.
While taking a nice hot shower Lydia made a mental note to practice that last card trick some more. Practice makes perfect. As she washed her long dark hair, she remembered this was her last night to enjoy Las Vegas before hitting the road again. To the casino we go!
Out of the shower and wrapped in a towel, the young lady picked out her outfit and got herself dressed to go out. Before leaving the hotel, Lydia checked herself out in the mirror. A simple navy blue knee length dress and flats. Cute, but most importantly comfortable.
The taxi came right on time and Lydia relaxed as she enjoyed the view of the city.
Times like this Lydia was glad that she wasn't very famous. It was very rare that someone recognized her, and only once did she have to leave a place because she felt uncomfortable. She paid the driver once they reached their destination and headed inside the large building. So many people were gambling and having a great time. Lydia went straight towards the card games. Of course. She decided to try her luck at blackjack.

A Mind is a Terrible Thing to Waste
James was already seated at the table she approached, his eyes lifting from the table as he glanced up at her for a moment. A relief for her, there was absolutely no recognition in his gaze aside from that normally due another player at a game. He stared at the other player with cards still in front of them, tapping on the tabletop with two fingers for a second, and then sighed, shaking his head. "I'll stand," he said, glancing down at the visible queen in front of himself, then across at the deuce showing in front of his opposite.
The dealer nodded, turning to glance at his opponent. The man frowned, and tapped his cards. The dealer flipped a ten, and the man swore, flipping over another queen before rising from the table. "I've met my match it would seem. Well played, sir," the man said, and bowed slightly before departing.
James reached out, scooping in what seemed to be a fairly sizable pot, and gestured. "Well, miss, it would certainly seem that there is a seat open, if you care to join," he said, stacking the chips neatly and precisely in front of him as the dealer gathered the cards and began to shuffle them. Words: 207 Notes: he just bluffed that guy

Lydia watched the match in amusement as the men played cards. It wasn't long before she got to the table that one man decided he had enough and called it quits. She smiled and gave the stranger a slight nod as he got up and headed away towards some of the other casino games. Lucky her that there was now an open seat so she could join.
"Absolutely." she replied to the man that had just won the last round. He appeared to be very confident but also had kind eyes. She was glad to see a less serious and friendly face at the table.
Lydia sat down in the now empty seat, pretty sure that she was already destined to lose. It didn't matter much to her since she was only there for the fun. The dealer set her up and began laying down the cards.
