Kage leaned in an allyway, looking out from it towards the darkened streets ahead of himself. It was quiet now that all the sun had set, but there was still the occasional traveler out and about. The street light outside of the ally flickered slightly on occasion, slightly irritating the robed and hooded shinobi but he did not move to to change his position or put the light out. Instead he sat, seemingly to wait upon somebody...or something. He did not move, nor make a noise even when a rat ran past him and over his foot running towards where only it's small mind seemed to know. The male was intent upon his viewing of the street, and paid little head to the other creatures about this place.
After seeming a long time, the male suddenly moved and pushed away from the wall. He moved towards the edge of the ally and watched as somebody walked past. Reaching inside his cloak, the male withdrew a small photograph from an inside pocket. He held the Polaroid and glanced at it, then slipped it back in to his pocket. He moved after the female, the one that matched the photograph he had in his pocket. He had been given a mission, a mission given to him by his clan who had accepted it from..whoever. The clan didn't really care who gave them the missions as long as the money was there. Kage however worked differently. He was not the kind to kill anybody, for any reason. He preferred only killing somebody who really deserved it. Sometimes some people need to be...well...reeducated in life and when necessary he would do that as instead and put them upon the proper path that would be laid out before them.
He stayed several feet back, about eight or nine from the female he was following. He did not want to draw complete attention just at the moment, and he hung to the shadowy walls, ready to dip away from the street in to the allies and cross cuts between this street and the next, or even in to a doorway to disappear from sight if he needed to quickly and discreetly. He reached under his cloak, and pulled out a staff and held it in his left hand, just in case he needed to defend himself. He was waiting for the right moment...that critical time to strike and find out what he needed to know before he decided what to do next upon this mission.

Bethany just wanted this shit to be over. So she could get back and have a few beers with Alan, and visit her parents. Gods.. She hadn't seen her mom, dad, or anyone in months, afraid someone would follow her to them. Perhaps she was a bit careless with her own life but she would never purposely put friends and family in danger.
But even if she did kill the guy in charge would it really be over? Even if it was then what would she do after this? Bethany had spent months having to constantly watch her back. She was positive she'd never go anywhere without some sort of weapon on her ever again.
Just about a week ago, Beth thought she had the bastard but he got away from her grasp. Instead she got to have a little fun with one of his buddies, and got the information she needed. Torturing was not her favorite thing to do but it sure helped get the job done. Beth was by no means a true hunter of the supernatural, it was just that these Vampyres had fucked with the wrong woman.
This wasn't the first time that Bethany was being followed, nor would it be the last. She didn't sense the man's presence..yet. He was further back and skilled unlike the other goons she was used to. Beth's destination came into view and she slowed her walking pace.
Kage watched as the female ahead of himself slowed down, and with her slowing he moved just that touch bit faster. He wanted to catch her before she got to where she was going. So he increased his pace ever so slightly, and with a simple thought, send a mental request of his friend flying above them above the building rooftops to kindly distract the female. With the mention of female, he sent a snap shoot of the female he was looking at, just to make sure his small companion knew exactly which one he was thinking of. He kept watching the female, holding his weapon ready to use it in the situation as he intended for it to be this time. Instead of weapon of death, he was simply wanting to use it to detain the lass. No permanent damage....and even no temporary damage as well if he could get away with it. However, his luck seemed rather sour lately and he wondered if he was going t end up with another injury over this.
Suddenly a large dumpster came rolling out of the alleyway directly in front of the female he was following and crashed there, over turning and dumping foul garbage all over the sidewalk right in front of her. Kage received the distinct impression of a gloat from his companion, and the briefest flash of an image of acid melting away the locking breaks upon a set of wheels upon a certain dumpster. Kage sighed, shaking his head but moved quickly towards the female, wanting to get her in to that same alleyway alone where his companion was already station ready for him.
Coming up behind the female, gripping the baton in one hand just in case, he suddenly grabbed her wrist and pulled her. He swung her around, spinning her suddenly in to the alleyway where they both would disappear in to the shadows. As he got her there, he would release her hand letting her stumble away but making sure to not release her to soon so she would not stumble and fall or in to a wall. He did not want to damage her in the least bit. He didn't say anything yet, but simply stood before her, blocking the entrance to the alleyway he had just pulled her in to, crossing his arms as he stood in his black robes and looked at her silently.

There it was straight ahead, the building where the coward was hiding. There was movement in the alley ahead and she became distracted by the dumpster that fell in front of her path. The startled woman quickly drew her weapon but not quick enough to locate the threat. Someone grabbed her and pulled her into the dark alley. In that moment she figured whoever it was wasn't alone, and there was at least two after her. Beth struggled to get free from his grasp and didn't even notice that he had also purposely let her go at the same time.
Beth quickly spun towards him and aimed the gun at his head, but hesitated instead of pulling the trigger, seeing that he appeared to not be agressive. "This is the end." she thought. Supernatural were so unpredictable even a split second too slow could mean her death. She cursed herself for her mistake and prepared for the worst, but it didn't happen. Whoever this was made no attempt to kill her, at least not yet. Bethany was quickly analyzing the situation and what might be the purpose of this, along with her options. "Start speaking now or end up dead. Your choice."
Kage stood there, watching the female. He was not afraid of the gun she held in her hands, because he had his own ranged weapon. With a simple thought towards his companion lurking in the shadows, something invisible slammed in to the woman's hand and wrenched the gun unexpectedly from her fingers. The gun, seemingly of it's own accord, flew towards Kage and dropped in to his hands. Kage then sent his friend to hide in the shadows while they recharged their skills and abilities. Kage danged the weapon from his finger, dropping the magazine on the ground with one hand and ejecting the bullet from the chamber and catching it. He then slowly bent at the knees, and set the weapon upon the ground beside the magazine, but slipped the free ammunition in to a pocket somewhere with in his cloak.
"If I had wanted to kill you...I would have already done so."
He said it in cool crisp English, standing back up and crossing his arms again.
"I was sent to kill you, however I have no wish to do so. I wish to speak with you, and attempt to convince you from this course of action and spare your life."
He simply stood there again, arms crossed not threatening her anymore and simply looking towards her as he remained where he had been.

Instead of attacking, the stranger somehow knocked the gun right out from her hands and disarmed it. Slightly annoyed, Beth watched as he placed her weapon onto the ground at his feet while pocketing her bullets. She crossed her arms as she glared at the man, clearly not amused with the situation. Who did this guy think he was? If she had felt threatened she would have already had another weapon out, but something told her that it wouldn't hurt to try and play nice.
When the man stated that he didn't want to have to kill her and instead talk her out of what she was about to do she almost laughed. Spare her life? Ha. There was nothing to spare. Although she had no intention on letting her target live, she decided to hear the man out. "You have a lot of convincing to do but I'm listening."
Kage watched the female as she imitated him, crossing her own arms over her chest and glaring at him. He did not move, and he was not impressed by her attempted at either mimicry or intimidation. He really did not care either way. He slowly uncrossed his arms, and let his hands hang at his sides. He then after several seconds reached up and pulled his hood back, uncovering his face then pulling the half mask down away from his nostrils and mouth. Now she could see him, and at least see that he was...well...an average person. Like she was, or at more or less. He did not want this to turn in to some sort of battle between the two of them when it did not have to be.
He finally shrugged his shoulders, then slowly stepped aside out of her path to leave the alleyway.
"Alright, fine. You are free to go. I will not stop you, nor will I attack you any further. However, before you should go, you should know something. The person you are trying to kill is the one who hired me...so he obviously will know you are coming for him just in case I fail to intercept you."
He went silent, letting that sink in to her skull. He did not care how good she was, but he knew and he hoped that she knew that she would never get through an entire building full of highly equipped goons despite their levels of inadequate training. All it would take was a second's mistake, or a lucky shot and she would be down and then dead before she call for help...or worse, she could be taken captive and be tortured. He would hate to see either options happen to her after giving her the option to live.

The man decided to remove his mask and show her his face. It was almost as if he was trying to talk to her on a more personal level. He was younger, at least he appeared to be. He could be a shifter, or even a Vampyre since he seemed to be working for them.
He began speaking to her again as he stepped out of her way, and warned her that the man she was after already knew she was coming. Bethany actually preferred that in a way. She was not one for sneaking around and striking only when the time was right. So when he finished his statement it was hard not to grin.
"So I must be doing something right if he has to guard himself like that, and even send someone like you after me."
Bethany went quiet for about a minute, in thought about her next actions. She could rush in as she had wanted to and attempt to kill every single one but it could mean her death as well.
"Thank you for the warning. But why not do your job and kill me now?" Beth didn't really trust that this man wouldn't change his mind and decide to try at any moment. If he was trying to spare her life what was the reason?

Kage watched the female intently, not with with the intent of action but with the intent of seeing what she would do. He was not going to stop her, not would he try to intervene. He would simply report to the clan that he was unable to find her to kill her before she got herself kill. They would not get paid, and be upset, but sometimes things like this happened. When she further questioned him, he widened his eyes slightly and raised an eyebrow at her.
"I do not simply do what I am ordered to do. Only sheep and weak minded individuals do something with out question as to why. Instead, I believe people should be given a choice... I have given you a choice, and now you must choose your path. I could kill you yes...but why when if you remain upon this path it is clear you will end up dead no matter what? You will never reach your goal, and you will have died in vain. You could chose to divert form the path, and not die. I can only offer these paths, you must decide to take them. That is why I do not complete my mission. One has to make their own destiny."

Bethany struggled in her own mind to try to convince herself that maybe the man was right. She had been so careless and full of revenge it was only a matter of time that she ended up dead. Beth had made many enemies, and many were already dead but it just meant the remaining ones were even angrier and most likely much more prepared.
"If I don't strike now, I may lose my chance.." her voice was just above a whisper and she was looking down at the ground. "I could choose to back off for now and attack once their guard is down again." Backing down seemed to be the most logical thing to do to ensure her own survival, but that frustrated her to just give up like this.
"Ok, you win." she said finally, but now she had no idea what to do.
Jack is an average, unassuming guy. He stands bashfully, avoiding eye contact as he looks around at everything except the person he's speaking with. A closer look. however, will reveal more.
Beneath this carefully neutral appearance, Jack's body is lean and efficient. He's slow to anger and behind his bashful demeanor is an assertive individual observing his environment with an almost predatory nature.

Jack was just strolling along, at night. Because sometimes he did that. No, he wasn't out trying to kill anyone at this particular moment. No, he wasn't wearing his mask, though he did have it with him. Why bring a mask when you're not up to no good, you might ask? Well, because the young man was always up to no good! Anyways, Jack had just come from the store and was carrying an open bag of skittles. His only purchase, he'd tossed the receipt and plastic grocery bag some time back. Now, as he walked, the young man would shove a handful of sugary goodness into his mouth every so often.
Jack wasn't headed anywhere in particular, having decided to abandon work earlier that night. He'd been in town to kill some thug or other. Their names and faces all started to mix together after a while, anyways. What did one less face matter, he'd thought. So the young man had decided to just do whatever.
Ever since he'd decided to abandon that first job on the night a while back when someone had decided to chew up the vampire party he'd been planning on exterminating, Jack had been finding it was easier and easier to say no. Maybe he'd bled that particular vendetta enough to get over it. So lately Jack had been spending most of his time chilling, playing video games and having his amorous advances rejected by beautiful women around the world. It hadn't all been fun, but he hadn't had to hurt anyone recently. So that was nice.
Coming to an alley, Jack found his advance halted by a tipped dumpster that had left trash all over the sidewalk he'd been on. The young man frowned and began to walk around the pile when he noticed people in the alley. Most wouldn't have seen them but there were no shadows in Jack's eyes. Well, ok. That wasn't entirely true. But whatever. Anyways, he saw them. Popping some more candy, the bored young man decided to investigate.
"Jeez. Did you guys, erm, guy and lady, see who dumped that trash all over the sidewalk? I mean, talk about rude. Now I've got to go around. Not that I mind. I'm not in any hurry and I sort of enjoy these little walks of mine. Do you like skittles? I like em. Well, I like them sometimes. Sometimes I get sick of them and have to try something else, ya know?" Jack knew he was babbling a bit. He liked to think it made him seem like less of a threat and more like an idiot bystander, which wasn't too far from the truth.
Kage watched the female, his eyes on her face as she thought and those emotions flicked across her facial expressions briefly. He waited patiently as she spoke aloud, walking herself through her options. When she finally came to a conclusion, he nodded slowly, a smile finally pulling at the corner of his lips slightly lightening his expression. He reached up, grasping his hood and pulling it back up over his head. Suddenly footsteps came behind him, and his eyes narrowed. His fingers gripped his mask, pulling it back up over his mouth and nostrils to just below his eyes before he turned slowly to look upon the new comer with cold hard eyes.
The new comer babbled....and babbled, and continued to speak. Kage's eyes narrowed further at the male. He truly hated individuals who talk to just hear themselves talk. Words should be used to converse true things, things that had real meaning. Nothing about what silly, frivolous candy an individual liked to snack upon. It was slightly obvious by the actions the other individual performed; in this case the action of him ingesting the sugary treats. He simply stared at the male with a cold look upon his face. He then turned towards the female, and asked her five simple words.

Kage seemed pleased with the decision she made and started covering his head and face again. It appeared that he was planning on leaving now that he had convinced her to change plans. She wondered if she would ever bump into him again somewhere. Probably not.. the world was such a big place.
Beth heard the noise the same time as the man and she reached for another gun, not the one that Kage disarmed on her. It appeared to be a young guy babbling on about Skittles..? Something seemed off here. Why would someone be walking around late at night and randomly talk to two strangers in the alley about candy? She remained with her hand on the gun ready to use it if she sensed that the new person was dangerous. "Yeah, Skittles are pretty good." was all she managed to say about that. She looked at Kage and gave him a "What the hell is going on here" look. He was clearly annoyed with Skittles boy just by looking at his body language, and he asked her if she wanted to eat. She was pretty sure she hadn't eaten all day actually, and the thought of food made her realize how hungry she was. "Sure.." still confused about what was going on.

Rude. Jack frowned slightly. All he'd tried to do was engage a couple shadowy figures lurking in a nearby alley in some friendly conversation... Oh. The young man was beginning to see where he'd gone wrong. He peered closer at the woman. Maybe the two had been conducting business? Well, she didn't seem like a lady of they night, but something Jack found it difficult to tell. Maybe the guy was the hooker? Nah. The goods were too covered up. Not on display enough. Drug deal? They didn't look like junkies. Maybe dealers? Oh, will you shut up all ready!? The young man thought to himself. All this internal babble was giving Jack a headache.
"Anyways. Have a nice night!" The young man continued past, shoving another handful of skittles into his mouth. Whatever the two were up to, it wasn't really any of Jack's business. He'd been on his way somewhere, after all.

Kage watched the interaction that the female had with the male. He for one was not going to respond to nonsensical, meaningless banter that played no part in the greater scheme of life. There was to much to do, and not enough energy to waste upon things like babbling about what candy one preferred to pump one's body full of empty carbohydrates with. The young man seemed perturbed by the fact that they did not seem to pay him enough attention, and decided to leave with a a few parting words and another mouthful of his confectionery Achilles's heel.
Kage watched as a single Skittle escaped the hand, bouncing upon the pavement. He suddenly knelt, picking up the candy between his thumb and forefinger. Standing back up, he took aim and flicked it hard. The little missile flew forward, and struck the stranger's shoulder hard enough to be felt but not hard enough to sting or anything. Dropping his hand back to his side, the male looked at the stranger, then spoke four words at him whether or not he turned around or not.
"You need real food."
With that Kage turned and moved away, his cloak swirling about as he turned and moved back out of the alley through which all had entered. With a single thought, he knew his dragon who had been hiding upon the roof was following above them. In the darkness, with the dark purplish colored scales the dragon blended in partially, and unless it came to close would almost be mistaken for a night bird flying through the sky. Kage walked silently, moving through the streets ignoring the strange looks he got. He did not care about them, and did not care what they thought. He lead them to a restaurant several streets away, one that for some reason was still open and Kage walked in to as if he owned the place. He walked right up to the hostess, a cute little girl barely out of her teens and leaned close whispering to her. She darted off, disappearing for a few minutes then coming back with a male who was dressed up and looked like the owner. Kage leaned close, his words soft and low creating a murmur the two behind him (if the other male had followed) could hear but not make out specific words. With a last comment, he leaned back and pulled up his sleeve on his left hand and flashed his wrist at the man, who's face had now gone as white as his bleached crisp shirt. Kage then gestured at his companions, and they where all promptly lead to a table by the owner himself, leaving the poor hostess looking dazed and confused.
Once seated, Kage reached up and pulled his hood off again, then his mask down and looked around.
