She had hoped that she wouldn't have to give much more detail on her story, but vague answers to questions will normally lead to more questions. That's exactly what happened. Beth answered Jack's question and he asked another one.
"It doesn't matter. He's dead now." To her at least. And it didn't really matter. Her and Marcus were no longer speaking, and at the moment she was fine with that. An angry expression began showing on her face at the thought of him, though it could easily be because she was thinking about the death of her friend.
She had to wonder how much Kage knew about her. He had to know some things, but how much detail? He was keeping quiet and enjoying his meal while Jack questioned her, just listening in. Part of her wanted to know what they told Kage about her to know if it was all truth.

Kage seemed finished, Jack noticed. That was ok because the Jack was pretty much done with his food, too. He sipped some more of his drink while Beth gave her reply to his question. It was rather curt and told him pretty much nothing but the young man wasn't terribly invested in her story anyways. She seemed mad but Jack couldn't tell if his questions were annoying her or if the bad memories her story dredged up were the problem. He supposed it didn't really matter much. "Oh. Ok," Was all Jack could think to say in response. If Beth didn't want to tell him more, which she apparently didn't considering she wasn't telling him anything, then that was fine with him. Kage hadn't said anything in a little while.
Pretty much done eating, the young man wasn't entirely sure what else to do. Kage had finished, Jack was pretty much finished, and Beth wasn't seeming much more talkative than the ninja was. As for Jack, the young man didn't have anything he cared to talk about with a couple strangers who didn't seem to be big fans of his. So he continued to sip his drink, waiting for someone to say or do something.
Kage was slightly amused with the interactions between the two people before himself. They where not getting along very well apparently, however Kage did not care about that. He was much more interested in what was going on with the female he had decided to not kill. He looked at Bethany, slowly sipping from his glass of water and finishing it off before setting it back down and finally talking to both of the individuals who he had invited to diner with himself after they had run out of conversation between themselves. So finally he supposed it was time for his point to be made.
"So, we are all killers here it seems. Which leads to the question that has been twirling it's way about my brain. Bethany, do you really want avenge your friend against the person inside that building? Do you really wish to break in to that place, and kill the person you are wanting to kill? If so, you are in the best situation you could be right now. You have to kills with you apparently, possibly both of which would be willing to help you achieve your goals."

It was Bethany's fault that her and Jack's conversation was pretty much going nowhere. She wanted to apologize but wasn't good with things like this. Maybe at a later time. Instead she stared down at her glass and kept quiet again.
Kage finally broke the awkward silence again. Of course Marcus's death was total bullshit and she would rather smash his face in with a baseball bat rather than "avenge" him, but these two strangers didn't know that. But it was true. If she had wanted or needed help with killing the Vampyre causing her so much grief, this would be the perfect opportunity. It was extremely tempting too. Bethany only had to think about it for a half a second but shook her head.
"You know that I can't ask either one of you to kill for me. It wouldn't be right. It's my problem. But.." Beth shrugged "if you happened to have nothing else better to do and decided to tag along, that's fine with me. Of course I can't guarantee anyone's safety, and have nothing to give you in return besides perhaps a favor later."

The young man raised his hand, objecting slightly. "Um, I'm not sure I'd consider myself a killer, per se, just that I happen to kill stuff with some frequency in my present line of work." After that little tidbit, Jack gave Kage the thumbs up.
"Nothing better to do? Tag along?" Jack's face split into a wide, mischievous grin. "Sounds just like the kind of night I'm having. Don't worry about asking me to kill for you. You seem nice enough and these vampires sound like a bunch of bullies. Bullies can use a lesson every now and then, so they don't get too ahead of themselves."
Leaning back, Jack shrugged, not entirely sure what he'd do with a favor in exchange for risking his life, something he happened to do everyday more or less for free, mostly in it for more personal reasons. "I'm not worried about my safety, but I'd like a better idea of what we're up against. How many vamps, what kinda firepower might we run in to? Guns, magic, guns and magic?"

Kage let Jack object to the statement that he was a killer with out a word. Personally Kage failed to see the difference between being a killer and just "happening to kill stuff in current line of work". Either one killed things, or they did not. There was no grey line between such matters in Kage's mind because killing was still killing. He said nothing about the matter however, because he knew that his opinion was not the opinion of everybody else as well so he left it alone. He did however make a comment to Bethany who had spoken as well.
"Well, luckily for you you did not ask us to do such a thing. It appears that both Jack and myself have happily volunteered to help a beautiful lady such as yourself, so no asking will be required. As to the questions about what to expect I can not truthfully answer. I am, however, sure there will be plenty of guns and ammunition. There also might be some magical abilities involved, seeing as they are vampryes and can probably perform several magical feats and stunts."

What luck Bethany had to meet two people that would be willing to help her take down her enemies. It seemed almost too good to be true. Jack was even grinning and it appeared he might actually enjoy this. She wasn't sure about him when she first seen him in that alley, but it seemed like they might actually get along just fine if she gave him a chance.
"He's right." Beth nodded in agreement with Kage. "There is a little mix of everything, depending on the Vampyre. Guns, knives, one blasted fire from his hands at me, and another appeared to be able to control metal. Almost disarmed me by taking my gun. But that's what makes it interesting right?" Beth was the one grinning at Jack now.
"Are you sure you want to do this?" She asked Kage with a slightly worried look in her eyes. "They did hire you to kill me. Yet you are now helping me and turning against them." Jack hadn't known that part but she figured there was nothing to hide now, it didn't really matter.

"Magic does complicate things but that's ok. A little difficulty can make things more fun." Jack admitted, scratching his chin. He honestly couldn't recall the last time he'd shoved a handful of candy into his mouth, so he decided it would make for a good dessert. Whaaat!? The vamps hired ninjas, specifically Kage, to kill Beth? The surprise at this newest revelation was clear on the young man's face at first, but Jack soon shrugged it off and brought up a small handful of candy to eat from the bag in his pocket. It was certainly unexpected, but he didn't really know either of them all that well and it didn't seem super important. After all, it seemed that not only was Kage not going to murder Beth, he was even going to help her take down those pesky vamps who'd hired him.
Jack wondered what exactly they'd be up against. The vamps probably weren't all that strong if they had to outsource the murder of a single magicless human. But you never know. Maybe their heavies felt it beneath them or something. Supes could occasionally be arrogant like that.

Kage leaned back in his seat, lifting his arms and placing them behind his head. He stared up at the ceiling, listening to the other two for a moment before Bethany asked him a direct question. When she did, he did not move for several seconds, continuing to stare a the suddenly very interesting ceiling. He finally spoke slowly, mostly directing at Bethany though he did not mind that Jack could over hear. It was a lesson for the female, a lesson about himself. About the way he thought, the way he operated, and the reason why he did the things he did.
"You know I was suppose to kill you in the ally, yet instead of doing so I let you live. Do you have an idea as to why, Bethany? It is because you where willing to change your ways, to learn from your mistakes and to move on with upon your life path. You made the decision to give up upon the path of the fool that would have ended in nothing but disaster. Now you have been given a new path, an new opportunity that would not have been available to you before. That is why I spared your life."
He paused, slowly moving his arms from behind his head, and lowering his gaze from the ceiling above their heads. He looked from Jack to Bethany, staring directly in her eyes for a moment before continuing.
"I also offer you my help because of that same principle. The one you want dead....he refuses to change his way and path. He is not longer....how should I put this...Hmmm... Worthy of the life he has been given. A wise man once said that the only thing constant is change. If one refuses to change...then one can not remain constant with the higher needs of life demanded by somebody upon such path. I will leave it in your hands whether it be this man's fate to live or die, however I will help see to it that you get that chance as well.'

Bethany thought she seen a surprised look on Jack's face about something, but when she looked over to see what was the matter he seemed calm and was eating candy he had found from.. somewhere. She hoped it was from his pocket or something.
It almost seemed like Kage hadn't been listening, instead spacing out at the ceiling. But he did speak up after some time when she asked him the question. She nodded at his response, thinking more about what kind of people she was hanging out rather than his answer. All this talk about change. She did change her mind about running to her death, but she still wanted the man dead. Part of her still couldn't understand why he would decide to side with her. On the outside, Bethany didn't see herself as a good person.
One thing she did like was that Kage would give her the choice to kill or spare the man. Bethany wasn't sure why she'd ever let the man live, but maybe she would if there was good enough reason to.

Jack mostly ignored what was going on, instead slowly chewing some candy while he let his eyes wander around the room. No one seemed to be addressing him directly, but if one of the other two were to say his name or speak to him he'd probably snap back to attention. But for now, nothing interesting seemed to be happening. Or, at least, nothing that seemed to concern him.
Although the young man had been somewhat mildly surprised to find out that Kage had been hired to kill Beth but ended up not only letting her live but deciding to help her murder his employers, Jack still wasn't terribly invested in what was going on. He'd offered to help because he really didn't have anything better to do that night, not so much because he wanted to help out a couple strangers who'd been rude and maybe a little mean to him. He would help, but he wasn't feeling super committed about it.

Kage motioned towards their waitress as she passed by to get her attention to let her know he was ready for the bill. He then looked at the other two at the table, glancing first from Jack then to Bethany. They both had remained silent, and he assumed that that meant they where both ready to go. After all, neither had offered objections to what was happening or the plans. So when the waitress brought the bill, he pulled out a large amount of money and handed it back directly to the waitress who stared at the large amount of dough.
"Keep the change as your tip."
He told the waitress, who almost fainted right there on the spot. It was not Kage's money, so he cared little for how much he spent it. The clan might get upset at time, but they rarely did because he remained so active and brought back in more then his fair share. With the bill paid, he looked at the other two.
"We should get going, if we are going to do this. If you do not wish to...then I suggest leaving now."

Bethany raised a brow as Kage pulled out what seemed like a large amount of money to pay for their bill. Turns out it was, and he was giving the waitress a very generous tip as well. It appeared that assassins got paid even more than she had thought, which made her wonder how much they were going to pay Kage for killing her. She went to object and at least pay for her share, but the waitress was already moving away with the large sum of cash, probably before the man could change his mind on tipping her so much. She already owed the man her life, and now she owed him money too. Beth was starting to feel helpless again. "If I make it out alive, I'm buying next time."
Beth gave Kage a nod and carefully got out of her chair. Jack had gone quiet again and Bethany wondered if he was going to change his mind now that they were getting ready to head out.

Jack climbed to his feet, stifling a yawn while simultaneously rummaging through his pocket for more candy. The young man came back up with only a few skittles. He ate them, looking around the restaurant disinterestedly while everyone seemed to be taking their time. Kage had paid and given the waitress what seemed to apparently be a fairly generous tip. Jack didn't really care and mostly just wanted to get moving. He chewed thoughtfully while the other two puttered about, wondering what magicks the vampires might have at their disposal. Perhaps he would be like one enough to learn a new spell or, if luck was with him, be inspired to craft an original magick all his own. Truly, Jack hoped to one day do such a thing but he'd never bothered to sit down and really focus on accomplishing such a thing so he wasn't even sure if it was within his capabilities. But now his mind was beginning to wander. Back to matters at hand.
Bethany stood, as did Jack and neither left which left Kage under the assumption that both where in to perform this mission. Nodding, he himself stood up and moved away from the table. Having paid, he was not bound to wait or stop by the hostess stand to pay anything more. So he simply walked out of the restaurant and on to the streets. Once there, he reached up and pulled his hood back up and over his head and settled it there before speaking to the others who where either following him...or where not.
"So I see we have two possibilities. We can go barge in, killing on whole sale everybody who get in our way. We would have to fight lots of people, up several stories giving each level more time to prepare for us along the way. That is just the people and supernatural beings, and I am sure that he would have plenty of mechanical and electronic defenses along the way to hinder anybody or stop them from doing such a thing."
As he spoke, his feet where carrying him along the street walking along seemingly as if he was not going anywhere in particular as he talked, filling in the other two upon his thoughts and feelings of their upcoming escapade. He was not sure which they wanted to do, but he supposed he would go along with either. Both had potential and intrigue, along with their dangers and potentials for them being harmed.
"I also had another idea...seeing as I was suppose to kill you Bethany. I could always take you in alive, ostensibly under the pretension of letting the vamprye who hired me have the honor of killing you himself. You obviously would not be truly bound or incapacitated, and thus could...handle the vamprye however you see fit. That would make it much easier to get in to the building, but with the foreseeable consequence of making it harder to get out of the building."
