Big wheels keep on turning, carry me home to see my kin
Crusty, deep bagged eyes cracked open, a deep groan sounding. One of Lilly's wings flapped at the nearby radio alarm as it shifted into the next verse of Sweet Home Alabama, slapping across an old glass of dusty water and knocking down a lamp before finally whacking the device. Sweet, sweet silence.
Except for that god damned fan that squeaked whenever it turned. And the cars outside. And that 'couple' that was screaming at one another on the floor above again. It would be so easy to just spur them into either killing one another, or getting them to fuck their differences out... could go either way really. But then again, that would be a lot of effort. And it would probably get her into trouble.
Lilly groaned into her pillow again, kicking her legs and flailing her wings about. Ten in the morning was way too early to get out of bed, especially when it was like ninety degrees outside with the same percent humidity. The only thing that barely made it worth the effort of tumbling onto the floor, was that if she didn't get into a cold shower and drink something, she was probably going to die of dehydration or something. And even still, barely worth it.
The cool water cascading down across her skin felt nice, though, so there was that at least. The cold, as short lived as it was, would at least help with the debilitating heat outside. Lilly's current uniform, a white dress shirt and a black vest with matching slacks, complete with dull leather shoes, did not help much with insulating against the local weather. In fact it made it worse. The stuff was just thick enough that it managed to trap heat and moisture, but just thin enough that it froze come winter.
The woman sighed to herself as she wrapped her wings about her torso, slipping her shirt and then vest over them. It was gonna be real cramped for the day, with those things folded up all tight, but at least she was getting a paycheck. It wasn't a big paycheck, but it was enough to keep a roof over her head and some ramen in a pot.
One deep breath and the straightening out of some hair later, and Lilly was on her way out of her ratty apartment complex and on her way to work.

Rosario had come out to this part of the country on a 'business trip,' but it seemed her client was a no show, so now she was stuck in this blistering hot city... and it wasn't even noon yet! How did I ever survive the flames of hell if I can't stand the heat here? Now there's a bad joke the young cambion will probably never let see the light of day. Either way, she actually had her hat off to fan herself. Of course, her horns were nowhere to be seen. Yes, she knows that the movement actually produces more heat than she is cooling, but it doesn't make the improvised breeze feel any less satisfying.
By this point, the redhead had finally resolved herself to the fact that it was going to be a while before she could catch a ride back to her usual stomping grounds, and figured that she may as well make the best of it. See the sights, maybe act like a normal teenager and take a bunch of selfies or something… Yeah, That’s not gonna happen.
She usually doesn’t bother with bars during the morning hours, but with this heat and nothing better to do, when Rosario spotted a woman in the classic bartender uniform, she barely even hesitated to jog over. As soon as she is within a polite speaking distance, she says, “If you’re off to work, would you mind if I tag along?” Actually, that could seem a little creepy. “... Bartender uniform. Need out of the heat.”

Lilly was engrossed in speed walking to her restaurant shift, and in adjusting her tail-belt to hike her pants up a half inch higher, that she nearly didn't recognize when someone started talking to her. To her, of all people. In the middle of the road. While she was on her way to work.
It was strange, to say the least.
The succubus' head turned to regard the nearby woman as she walked, tripping over herself a little as she miscalculated the distance to the next curb.
"That's really kind of a strange thing to ask, but I'm late and I don't care." Lilly said, blowing a stray hair out of her face. Who the hell just came up to people and asked if they could follow them to work? Very strange. In fact, it was downright unsettling. Like if a stalker was blatantly obvious about stalking someone, or a mugger or something was casually trying to ingratiate themselves while they scouted out your daily schedule.
Not that it really mattered. Chances were that Lilly wasn't going to be waiting tables much longer here anyways, so it was just as well.
"Oh, and I'm a waiter, not a bartender. My pay isn't nearly that high."
Zach was a cat today. A graceful feline, lacking collar and of a magnificent orange coloration with black markings upon his body and little socks upon his feet. Except his rear right foot, which had a white sock instead of a black sock. He winded between people, rubbing against their legs and darting in to alleyways nearby when the occasional foot struck at him in retaliation and basking in the warmth and affection when the occasional stranger paused to apply affection and love to his body. He paused, in the middle of one ally, licking his front left paw clean and triangular ears standing up and twitching slowly as he listened to the strangest thing outside the ally. A woman stopped and asked somebody else if she could follow her to work.
Completely intrigue, Zach stopped his self cleaning and leap from the box he had been standing upon and padded out of the alley to look at the two females. His head tilted to one side, and he came out slowly and wound between one dressed as a bartender, or as she corrected the other a waitress. He merowed softly, purring as he rubbed his cheek against her leg and looked up at the two women with his large sky blue eyes wanting to be loved upon and paid attention to.
I am a man... No. I am a beast... No. I am both...and I am neither.
