Solemn Creed sent me a personal message asking a variety of good questions. To ensure I don't have to repeat myself to someone else in the future (and risk contradicting myself), I am posting his questions and their answers here.
Thanks for the great questions, Solemn Creed, and if anyone needs any clarifying for these, feel free to reply in this thread.
We also have a FAQ section, found here: The FAQ section Make sure to check here, to see if your question has already been answered.
Always happy to help!
1. Amplify Emotions - Level Two: Frenzy
2. Deathly Whisper - Level Three: Deathly Whisper
3. Divine Sacrifice
4. Evaporate
5. Fire - Level Two: Pyromania
6. Hypnotic Slumber
7. Illusion - Both levels
8. Mesmerize - All levels
9. Shapeshift - Level Two: Morph
10. Slow
1. As you well know the description for frenzy is that it amplifies emotions to the point where people act upon them. I have only one question for this ability. Is it possible to resist or is it irrisistable?
Answer: Frenzy is irresistable. Amplify Emotions is resistable.
2. This is an instant kill ability and i do realize that it would be near impossible to require, but if one were to purchase it would they be able to use it to kill another player or is there some way to avoid being killed by it other than through the use of Silence.
Answer: No. Distension is a dangerous forum different from many others in the fact that characters CAN die without their player's permission. These instances will be rare (people DO spend a lot of time on characters, after all), but they will happen. Deathly Whisper is one of few guaranteed ways to kill another playable character (which is why it's so expensive to acquire). It can be blocked only before it's use and only by the Silence ability.
3. A simple question for divine sacrifice. Are there certain sacrifices one god or the other would prefer?
Answer: Interesting question. Though I cannot speak for the other Gods, I can guarantee that Forgery Zaytsev does not have preference. I hesitantly say that I believe the other Gods wouldn't have any preference, either. Different Gods, of course, would likely be impressed by different things. If one were to create a shrine for Antoinette Argonith (Patron of Vampyres) in the shape of a vampire sucking blood, she'd likely be more impressed than if one just created an abstract pile of carnage. Hope that answers your question.
4. Can evaporate be used to evaporate the moisture within one's body, causing them to be reduced to a dried up husk? If so can one defend against it?
Answer: Yes, it can. I had actually anticipated someone using it in such a fashion, but you beat them to it. The only way to defend against it that I can think of would be through the ability 'Create Water'. Alternatively, one might be able to stave off death by entering a body of water while Evaporate was used on them (or before), though this would likely be less effective than Create Water (or Jet Steam, as one can create water with this ability as well).
5. One of the more important questions, to me anyways. Is pyromania a sort of pyrokinesis ability? To be more specific, does one who uses pyrokinesis create the flames with their mind or through some other means? Can a pyromania user change or affect the color of their flames?
Answer: Fire Control requires a source, but Pyromania allows one to create fire in a telepathic fashion. Also, yes, a user of Pyromania can choose the color of the fire as desired (though this will not affect the fire's properties).
6. Is it possible to resist hypnotic slumber or do you fall asleep no matter what?
Answer: After consideration of your question (and other similar questions by others), we have decided to modify Hypnotic Slumber so that it is no longer impossible to resist. If it is used on one, you must get them to look at you without break for seven seconds. As this will not be easy, we are also making it so that if one is having Hypnotic Slumber used on them, they will not realize it.
7. I understand that to use either of the illusion abilities one must remain within visual sight of whomever it is being used on but i have other questions about it. Is it possible to break thrugh an illusion? Do the illusions affect only one's sight or do they affect other senses such as touch, taste, smell, and hearing(i feel this is implied for it says it can be used to make others see things and entire settings at level two)? Are there any holes or imperfections within an illusion that could clue one who was caught in it that they are in an illusion?
Answer: It is possible to break through. Illusion is less powerful and it only affects one's vision (leaving touch, taste, smell, and hearing unaltered). Scene, however, affects all senses except for taste and smell. For Scene to be broken, one would need to first recognize that the smells are not as they should be and then focus on the inconsistencies, identifying the smells properly to force one's mind to see past the lie it's been given. Illusion is easier to break through (obviously) and is more case specific.
8. If one was mesmerized could they break it through sheer force of will or any other means? If so what ways are there?
Answer: No. Only pain inflicted by another (more than a pinch or some such thing) could bring one out of their hypnotized state.
9. Another personal question. I understand that shapeshift allows one to take on the form of a creature of similar size and that morph is the same yet without the "similar size" attatchment. Does this mean that morph allows one to assume the shape of any creature no matter its size?
Answer: You read correctly. One with Morph can change shape into any creature no matter it's size IF it is an actual thing in our real world or a playable supernatural race.
10. As with one of my earlier question is there a way to resist being slowed?
Answer: No.[/color]
