What a pain...
Sitting in some dusty old ruins while waiting for the big manhunt to die down was not how she envisioned her stay in egypt. Sure, she had had a job to do which had it's own set of risks, but this went above and beyond what she had been lead to expect. When her middle man had called her up and told her of the job, it had looked simple enough. Practically an all expenses paid trip to egypt with a side of corporate sabotage.
Some big western company had recently started talks with another large company seeking funding and power for some grand plan out in this arid land. Her job, was to sabotage the meetings and turn the two against each other.
At first, everything had been going exactly as planned. Leak some files, whisper in a few ears, sneak in and then make a big mess. Until the getaway driver panicked and left without her. Honestly, that wouldn't have been a big deal if the client hadn't withheld rather important information on the scale of what they had been getting into.
On the run, the Cambion had eventually escaped, nabbed some supplies to last her a couple days, and then beat it till she found her way here. Some weird set of ruins, crumbling slowly. Soon, she started poking around, searching for somewhere to set up and rest. But she was no great survivalist. She just hoped she'd find somewhere safe To stay a day or two.
Little did she know, she wasn't alone.

The male was waiting for it to grow slightly darker. He did not enjoy working so hard when the sun was up so high, pounding it's heat down upon the world so ruthlessly. Instead, the male would usually wander and explore other things nearby or simply just nap. No, he was not lazy but instead of working in the heat of the day he chose to work when it was typically cooler and the sun was either set or heading towards the horizon. So he slept when it was dark, and when it was extremely hot and worked diligently between those two times. His work was paying off though, he had uncovered portions of the buried temple and had even found an entrance though he was not sure which entrance it was. Well, uncovered was a bit of a loose term. It was buried deep with in the sand, and the ruins above where built on top of it. However, a few of those ruins had been built and connected with the ancient temple and he was simply working to clear out those paths. Most had lead to nothing but the solid sides, but one path had caught his attention and he had been working to dig and move rocks from the broken path to gain access.
Why was Zacharias out here all alone, digging to gain entrance to an ancient pretty much lost and forgotten temple? Well...for starters it was because it was his. Well, maybe not in the sense that he owned it...or built it...but after a lot of serious research he had found that his old god had NOT hidden his weaponry among the temple where Zacharias had first been awoken, but in fact had had a second temple built all the way out here. Why, Zacharias could not find out such things and probably never would. Perhaps it was simply to test the male, to see if he was still a true warrior after all this time and could get his things back. It was a distinct possibility, however Zacharias was not going to dwell upon things that he was uncertain of until he could either prove or disprove such things. His first concern was getting inside, while avoiding the strangers who came and went through this area routinely and typically carrying....what where they called? Firearms he believed was the term. Dangerous weapons, cruel with no honor that killed somebody from far away so that you never had to see the light leaving their eyes. It was disgusting, and a foul way of killing somebody at least in his own opinion.
Zacharias had thus taken to moving and exploring in a form that was less likely to arouse much suspicion. Selecting from the local wildlife, he had taken a form close to his true form for it gave him a sense of wholeness and solidarity. A felinesque form was also so graceful and agile, making him feel like a warrior again even with out being in a human form so the male had taken the form of a caracal, a medium sized feline with distinct markings upon it's face and little black tufts of fur extending from the tips of the ears. It was in this form he explored the newer ruins upon the surface and traveled about. He left anything he would need at his digging site, and only kept a small sleeping pad in one of the ruins.
Today though, something was different...there was a stranger here who seemed to be hiding. Zacharias had been watching silently from a distance, stalking from the darkened shadows of the ruins and watching the young female who was apparently trying her hardest to escape from some unseen force. However, that unseen force did not remain unseen for long. Soon, a line of dust began to billow up from the desert, and the male feline leap up on to a rough with ease and looked out to notice a convoy of vehicles. Perching himself upon the roof despite the sun's heat, which he did not truly mind except for when he was working so diligently, he observed them as the vehicles spread out around the part of the ruins that they had approached from. Men disgorged from the vehicles, carrying those dreaded firearms. Zacharias had a feeling it was not himself who they where hunting, but the new arrival.
Leaping down from the building, Zacharias darted in and out of the buildings looking for the female. Finally finding her, he was unaware if she knew or not of the people who had followed her here. Instead, the exceptionally unique looking feline strode directly up to female, sat upon his haunches for several moments staring at her then proceeded to stand back up and wander off. His tail flicked several times before he disappeared through a doorway. Then he would poke his head back through and look at the female, finally meowing loudly to get her attention and hopefully the point she should follow. He would then disappear again and begin winding his way through the building avoiding the mercenary group until finally he began to trot down the long tunnel leading towards his dig site. With only one way in, and the other leading in to the ziggurat buried below he figured it was safe for the moment and refuge could be found in the ancient temple beneath the sands.
