jinx swittch was born as yvette brown in the year 1990 in the city of chicago. her childhood was far from normal. for starters, she never knew her mother, tanya brown. unfortunately after yvette's birth, tanya lost her life due to delivery complications. her father, lee brown, was left alone to raise the very infant that he felt was responsible for the death of his beloved wife. since yvette's birth, her father treated her worse than dirt; feeding her small scraps of whatever food he had nights before and locking her crib in a dark closet, drowning out the hysterical cries of baby yvette with whiskey.
things didn't get any better when she got older. yvette was starved, beat and cursed out by the man she called dad every single day until she finally had enough and snapped. neighbors claimed to hear blood curdling screams coming from the apartment. when police arrived at the scene, the entire apartment was trashed. they found lee brown's body in his bedroom, or at least what was left of it; lee brown was burned alive and his ten year old daughter was no where to be found.
something within yvette unleashed itself that day. something...strange. abnormal. she doesn't even remember how she murdered him, she just knew she did. all she can remember was sitting on top of her passed out father on his bed, candles on the nightstand flickering. next thing she knew, the flickering flame made its way to her father's chest. where her eyes moved, the fire moved. it wasn't long before she realized she was controlling it. then everything went dark. yvette awoke next to her charred father. she showed no emotion. all she could say was 'Burn in hell'.
witnesses stated that they saw young yvette leave the apartment with burned clothing after the screaming had stopped. she was later found sitting in an alley, staring blankly at the brick wall. she was taken into custody and sentenced to appear before a judge to determine her punishment. not wanting to send such a young girl to juvenile prison, yvette was instead sent to the mental institute of chicago.
for ten years of her life, yvette was moved from hospital to hospital due to the strange disappearances of the nurses and doctors who's care she was under. because of lack of evidence to point her to their disappearances, she was never convicted. instead, she was sent to a more secure hospital. then another more secure hospital, then another. it didn't take very long for yvette to control her new found ability, and then some. it was on her twentieth birthday that she discovered her true self. while being given medication by one of her nurses, she noticed something. the guards that had straped her down to her bed ten minutes earlier didn't strap her down tight enough. as the nurse bent down to inject her medication, she quickly took the needle and sliced the nurse's neck with it. yvette stared down at the body, feeling proud. then she started feeling lighthead. very lightheaded. she stumbled and sat back down on her bed. when her eyes refocused, she noticed her hands looked different. then she looked at her arms, the clothing she was wearing and felt her face. she had the exact same appearance as her dead nurse. she was a shapeshifter. it made her grin.
she hid the body under the bed and easily left the building undetected. she was free.
yvette brown was dead. jinx swittch was born. she now travels the world a free woman. an insane woman. yes, she can be friendly...just don't call her crazy. she doesn't like that.
