Alekz watched as the daemon turned on the sphinx that had come through the portal and they began fighting. Alekz didn't even attempted to help the sphinx. It was clear who had the upper hand here. Everytime the daemon attacked and tried to chain the sphinx the felinesque being seemed to pass through the chains, only to slash at the the daemon from another angle with long black talons.
Alekz watched the two battle viciously, pulling Atalaya further away to stay away from claws and fangs, trampling feet and flapping wings. He watched with fascination as the sphinx clearly was winning then before their eyes killed the daemon, tearing his throat out and then backing away and eyeing the two other beings. It opened its lips and spoke.
"You two where the ones who truly summoned me. Why would you summon me to be attacked by this foul creature?" Large fangs where bared at them, and Alekz swallowed hard knowing they had better answer correctly or be torn to shreds.

Atalaya watched in fascination as the two beings fought. There was no need to help either side, since it was clear who the victor would be. The daemon was soon defeated, his throat ripped out, and died. She gasped when the sphinx turned towards them. The great beast was beautiful and terrifying at the same time. Her awe filled gaze swept over the magnificent creature, studying it and simply watching how the muscles moved under its fur.
The question it asked was not easily answered, even with the threat of being torn to piece by its giant fangs.. The truth was a long and confusing story, and she didn't even know where to begin. Alekzander was probably the best person to answer the sphinx, but she didn't think he knew where to start their tale either. She grabbed onto Alekzander's arm. "Alek, just tell him what happened after you found me." She whispered to him, but the sphinx probably heard her anyway.

Alekz listened to great sphinx then his girlfriend. He took a deep breath and spoke to the magnificent thing before them. "Beautiful creature, we followed the instructions upon the scroll out of curiosity and interest. The daemon fooled us with a disguise and we did not know that it wished to chain you and control your. Please forgive us." Alekzander was hoping that the sphinx would accept their apology as he gripped Ata's hand.
He watched as the sphinx before them watched them, holding his breath. The suddenly the sphinx nodded. "Very well, go and be well." Then the sphinx spread its wings and leap in to the air, flying rapidly off and disappearing. Alekz let out the breath he had been holding and looked at Atalaya. "That...went better then I was expecting," he whispered to her, his eyes rather wide. Realizing he was probably hurting her hand with how hard he was squeezing it he slowly released it and then put his arms around her. "Well, we did it darling. We got through it alive and alright." He kissed her lips softly, not wanting to remind her of what had happened but wanting to show his love of her.
He released her then looked in her eyes. "Shall we go home darling? I think we have earned a small bit of time to be alone. To rest and relax, and to just sit as talk." He smiled and rubbed his nose agains her own.

Atalaya winced when she caught wind of the sphinx's thoughts. It was like he was yelling in her mind, and she could feel a nose bleed coming on. She pulled away from his mind and wiped the blood from her nose. She didn't want to worry Alekzander. He answered the sphinx's question, and even she could hear the truth ringing in his words. The sphinx accepted Alekzander's apology, and then flew off.
Once alone, she chuckled at his whispered words, and his terrified look. When he released her hand, she couldn't help the gasp of pain from escaping her lips. She healed the bruise that was starting to form on her skin, watching as her red skin turned its normal shade again. She kissed him back, wanting to start their new future with their child together.
To his question, she nodded. "Home sounds like heaven right now, and I want nothing more than to go there right now." She smiled as he rubbed his nose against hers and then hugged him to her, almost afraid to let go.

Alekz nodded and looked once more after where the sphinx had vanished. Then he wrapped his arm around Atalaya and turned away with her. He walked slowly back to town, and got a ticket back to Cairo where they could finally go home and be alone, beginning life with their new child. He smiled and held her close but not tightly as they boarded the airplane and flew home together. No matter what happened, he would always love her and want to be with her.
Back where the sphinx had been created, the Vamprye who had attacked them stood alone, looking around at the destroyed camp. He was chuckling softly and nodding. "How...interesting." He knelt and looked at the slain daemon, dipping a finger in his blood then licking the red liquid off. No sign of his lover....whom he would get back. Very soon, he would have her back. He lifted a piece of cloth to his face, inhaling deeply and chuckling as he smelled her scent upon the strip of her cloths. Very very soon.....
