Katrina's brow pushes downward as her gaze flickers between the two. She didn't appreciate hearing the conversation in what she believed to be one of the various Scandinavian tongues (presumably Norwegian). The expression was quickly alleviated as she looked to see if their order was ready yet. Something besides the conversation in a foreign language to focus on might do her some good she felt.
Her attention was called back when Avalynn addressed her. She snapped her gaze back and faintly cocked her head to the side. "I-- A pen? I'm surprised they work for his particular allergy. I didn't think it was that serious either. I know he nearly got silver poisoning once." Her red hair bounced side to side as she shook her head quickly. She then offered a slightly bigger smile. "Anyway.. He's gotten into a bit of trouble with his allergies and needing to be patched up, but nothing too serious. Honestly, I'd be a bit more worried about that canine-- friend-- of his than Mister Madsen."
"But-" Katrina continued on as her head rotated the other to the other side. "I'm sure I could answer your questions to the best of my ability, and if I have no answer.. I think I could at least point you in the right direction. I'm not sure how long I'll be here, probably for a bit longer than the conference. After that I imagine I'll be headed back home."

The line in which he stood was fairly short. That may have been in part to the group of people ahead of him that wanted to be far away from him as possible. He lifted a thick brow in their direction but said nothing, that is, until he walked up to the counter and ordered his herbal tea. He paid in cash and seemed to calm down the minute he had the beverage in hand; seems like the crowd here, small as it was wasn't out for his guts. With one exception. He had seen the guy in the corner of the cafe when he had walked in, hood drawn over his face, lean, and smelled like the streets. Characteristics most likely of someone either very poor or homeless. Tyr froze for a minute and reached for a packet of honey, coyly eyeing the suspicious man in the corner booth without him any the wiser. He felt the man staring at him but Madsen went about his business seemingly unphased; however, there still clung that urge of possible danger even as he walked back to the table.
His emotions were hard to read because of their subtlety, and only someone who had known him for long enough knew how to read his cues when he was irritated, nervous, fearful, or angered. This time nervousness clung to him but he distracted himself with Avalynn's comment on being a test subject. "Did I sign up for something?" he had to ask, his steel blue eyes pinning both women. The kind of playful look that got most women's attention whether he was aware of it or not.
Tyr fell quiet to whoever replied to him, taking a sip of the tea. The werebeast was doing his best to not intrude despite the conversation being centered on him.

Avalynn nods to Kat, "Yeah it gets pretty bad." She says and then looks to Tyr and smiles, "You didn't, but I really need to learn if you are going to constantly get hurt..." She shakes her head and sighs, "I swear people believe you to be a mål or something." She says with a shake of her head. Her Norwegian accent showing through, "We can go back to my home if you don't mind. That way I have a better chance of being able to learn, there are much too many people here." Her English was pretty good for someone who didn't speak it as a first language. She had studied the way that people talked, and the words that they used. She looks Kat over again still not sure what the relationship is to Tyr. She thinks for a moment trying to figure something out, she looks up at the ceiling and lets out a frustrated sigh, "Maybe we can get.... um... biff, to cook for dinner to have with you." She didn't know the translation for steak in English.

The red-haired medic cast a glance over at Tyr as she was told that his allergy had gotten bad at times. A thoughtful look crossed her mind as she contemplated what she knew of metal allergies. If it was as bad as they made her believe, Katrina felt she might have some studying ahead of her.
Ever the social outcast, Katrina coughed softly as the two conversed and shyly scratched at the side of her nose, attempting to find just about anything to occupy her attention so as not to disturb the two. Unfortunately the foreign word caught her attention, but the translation was lost on her, and it's meaning thus escaped her.
Katrina was almost startled when the attention turned to her again, forcing her to quickly compose herself again. She gave a nervous smile and opened her mouth to reply. Unfortunately, nothing came out for a moment, leaving Katrina flustered until she just tossed her hands up lightly. "Sure! Uh, yeah that would be fine." Immediately she cursed herself inwardly for yet again volunteering herself for quite the awkward position. It was fairly obvious that the other woman wasn't sure what to make of Kat, which made everything just that much more awkward for her.
Thankfully this time, Katrina caught the foreign word and at least had a concept of what it meant. One of the many benefits of living with a mother like Katrina's was that you got exposed to many different cultures. Katrina had been exposed to Norwegian cooking on more than one occasion and new that Biff had-- something to do with cow. She wasn't entirely sure what, but something. It was a start right? At least, that's what she told herself.
