"Gotcha, let me see what I can find that I like." the girl replied, glancing up at the overhead menu and taking a glance through its contents for something she would enjoy. She would also have to order for Talos, for he could not speak on his own. Of course the dragon was easy to order for: anything heavily meat based, and water. Not that dragons really ate much else.
As she spotted something tasty for herself and Talos, she made her way over to the counter with Korina, watching with surprise as she handled the rather awkward situation by herself. At least she wasn't afraid to speak her mind, something which Tayva admired. The draconian preferred to make others happy in exchange for her own benefit, and so always had a lot on her mind that she never spoke of. As her companion turned to address her and what she wanted, the girl realized that she was now on the spot, quickly grinning.
"I'll have a Cuban sandwich without the pickles, and a glass of chocolate milk. And he'll have a corned beef sandwich and a glass of water." Tayva replied, gesturing to Talos with her hand for the second half of her order.
Koruna watched and listened as the female ordered and smiled. A duo who did a lot of things apparently. To eat like that so early in the morning and still be as skinny as both where. However that wasn't her Concern at the moment. She, with a single easy movement of her wrist, turned her wheel chair about then rolled up to the table. Grabbing the back of a chair she lifted it and moved it out of her way. Parking herself she watched the other two seat themselves and smiled. Korina smiled warmly and placed a napkin in her lap.
"So are you ready to fly for the first time by yourself? Hang gliding isn't anything like riding in an airplane or even flying upon the back of something, like a dragon." She looked at the female carefully as if she was being serious then burst in to giggles. Dragons where not real so how could anybody ride upon one anyways.

"As ready as I'm going to be." the girl grinned, taking a seat beside Talos as they followed the woman bound to the wheelchair, taking a seat across from her. She then made some note about flying on the back of a dragon, before laughing as if the very thought were preposterous. Tayva blinked, trying to laugh along with her, though a hint of anxiety in her voice as she joined in. She knew better of course, and had it not been for her heritage, she likely would have had the same reaction as Korina. But little did she know that she was sitting right across from a dragon.
At the supposed joke, Talos scratched his head in slight confusion, before turning his head to Tayva.
"What's so funny?" the dragon asked through their telepathic bond, clearly quite confused as to why the notion was such a joke. Settling down, Tayva glanced back at him, and gave the dragon in human flesh a small smile. "She thinks that the idea is humorous, because the idea of riding something that is supposed to be fictional is not possible. It's hard to explain..." Tayva replied through the same bond, Talos still not seeming to understand her explanation, though simply shrugged.
Korina sat watching the two back and forth for a moment lime she had missed something (which she had) before sighing. Her lips parted and she inquired upon the two beings. "So...how do you two know each other so well. You don't seem like brother and sister, and he definitely isn't old enough to he your father. Nor does he act like it. A hired bodyguard perhaps? Yet you said you didn't have much money. So...?"
She left the last sentence open, waiting for her answer as the guy who has taken their orders appeared and placed all the food before them. He stared at Korina for a moment who respond in silence by raising her left eyebrow in a questioning manner. He ran off quickly leaving them to their food as Korina unwrapped her sandwich and slowly took a bite watching the two still awaiting her answer as she ate.

"Well...you could say that we're very close friends. Not like, in a relationship or anything, just good friends!" Tayva replied, seeming to be a bit hasty at the mention of the possibility of being in a relationship. While it was not unheard of that Draconians and their bonded could forge such a connection, the girl knew that she didn't feel that way about Talos. She did care for him deeply, but like family instead.
As the food came, Tayva slid the plate containing the very meaty sandwich over to Talos. The dragon had become a little more accustomed to using his human hands to pick up and hold things, and so with some grace he did manage to pick up his sandwich and began to eat. At the same time he watched his companion struggle to explain things to their host, while at the same time picking up her own food.
"We're not related, but I've always seen him as the brother I never had." the girl reasoned, trying to explain the situation without giving away everything as she took her first bite out of her meal. It would be awkward trying to explain to a human that the man she sat across was actually a fire-breathing dragon. Not that she wanted to do so anyways.
She smiled around her mouthful of food, extending one slender hand to grasp her glass and lift it to her lips taking a sip of the caffeinated brewed beverage. She was listening intently thought she hadn't responded yet. She replaced her drink upon the table and took another bite of her sandwich and leaned upon the table on the elbow of her free hand, her chin resting in her palm as she chewed and swallowed the bite she had taken and looked between the two her eyes twinkling then.
"So there isn't and never will be a relationship, but you see him as a brother...I can understand that. I was a single child, and was quite happy. I suppose I could have wanted a brother or sister at one point in time. I could even seethe fancy in one know I guess, but I've always been a very independent girl who didn't need anybody else. Though I never say no to a little company." She grinned and reached out stroking Talos arm with her fingertips batting her lashes at him and giggled before winking a Tayva and pulling her hand back quickly and taking another bite of her breakfast sandwich.

Talos didn't pull away as one would have expected (if they had known Talos' true identity). Instead he was trying hard to be polite to the strange human before him, and as she reached out and touched his hand, his mind soon began to run deep with questions. Tayva was probably just as surprised as he was, though didn't let it show on her features. Truth be told she didn't quite understand the symbolism of the gesture, if it was an innocent little act, or if she was trying to mean something else.
"I suppose that's true. I always did want to have an older brother growing up. Sure you get all of your parent's attention, but it can be rather lonely at times if you have nobody else to relate to." Tayva started, taking a small bite of her sandwich in thought. Apart from Talos, the only other male in her life that could have been anything close to a sibling was Kyrian, and apart from the short time that they had tried to be more than friends, it was rather comforting to see him as a brother. Someone she could always count on whenever she was in need of help, and someone that she and Talos could be their true selves around.
Korina took the last bite of his sandwich. She licked her fingers clean and swallowed that last bite and drank some of her drink. She smiled between the two and looked out the window. It was getting along towards noon and she figured it was about time to get moving so they could catch the man to take Tayva hang gliding. Korina had done it several times before but after she had had her last attack that put her in the state she was in now and unable to walk. She drank slowly as the other two finished their meals.
Fishing around in her pocket she pulled out a couple dollars and left them on the table as a tip for the boy. She may not have a best friend like Tayva had Talos, however she had a few people she counted upon. Like Eduardo, her military contact who gave her supplies and counseling as well as the occasional job, and Raphael her A.I. program. These where enough for her at the moment.

Tayva finished last with her meal, as her companion Talos had polished off his sandwich well before the two girls thanks to his draconic hunger. To him the sandwich was more of a light morsel than a meal. Catching up to Korina, Tayva wiped her face clean with her napkin, ready to go now as she watched the girl pull out the tip from her pocket. "Are you sure you don't want me to help out with that?" Tayva asked, offering to at least try and cover part of the tip. She knew she had some change on hand, and it wouldn't hurt to get rid of some coinage.
And almost as if on cue, the voice of Talos popped into her head, asking the girl what a 'tip' was. The Draconian quickly explained that it was a small additional to what they owed for the meal, but rather go to the establishment that they ate it, went to the one that had served them, normally to reward good behaviour. The dragon couldn't help but scoff at the idea of humans rewarding other humans like pets, giving them 'treats' to encourage good behaviour. But it seemed that such an attitude was fairly common in this society.
"Anyways, I'm ready to go whenever you are." Tayva asked, a hint of excitement in her voice at the thought of having her first time flying on a hang glider.
Korina waved off Tayva's attempt to help with the tip. She wasn't strapped for money yet. Her father (bless his soul) was still helping her out after being kicked out of the navy for a lie. He didn't talk to her much , and she didn't talk to him much. He probably didn't even know she was in a wheelchair yet. She hoped he never found out. She was sure if she could stand the pity in his eyes. However that was something yet to come and thus need not be dwelled upon.
Korina wheeled herself to the door and opened it for the two, a queir reversal as most people held doors open for people handicapped like her. Once they exited she followed them and began to lead them along, rolling down the sidewalk and waving at friends and acquaintances she had in town. She finally stopped outside what appeared to he a sporting goods store and rolled through the sliding doors. Her height now in the chair made her miss the sensor but once her companions passed through a soft ding echoed through the store. A voice called out to them. "Hello, welcome! Anything I can help you with?" Korina grinned and answered back.
"Possibly, what do you have that has wings and can carry an inexperience flyer?"
A man poked his head around the Korina and a huge grin split his face as he came up and hugged the handicapped female tightly. "Korina! It's been so long! Of course you don't have much call for my stuff since..." He trailed off then suddenly looked at Tayva. "This must be the girl who wants to fly! An honor ma'am." He grasped her hand and lifted it to kiss the back of her hand and smiled at the draconian.

Tayva had probably passed by the sporting goods store once or twice before, though had never gone in herself. Not that there was any reason for her to go shopping in such a place to begin with, but the girl still enjoyed her window shopping. Talos had often questioned the point of 'window shopping', and as the girl always explained, people sometimes found it fun to look at the different wares that shops carried, and perhaps fantasize what it would be like to own such an item.
The Draconian could not help but feel a bit envious of Korina, considering how many friends the girl seemed to have. Tayva had never been great in social situations herself, so the number of people she could rely on for things were unfortunately far and few in between. Not to mention that many of those friends that she made seemed to vanish from her life soon after meeting them in the first place.
As the apparent owner of the store came out to greet them, it soon appeared that he, like many others they had passed by, was a friend of the woman. And quite the charmer at that, as his greeting toward the Draconian caused the girl to blush slightly and grin in slight embarrassment. "Ha ha yeah, that would be me!" she replied.
Korina looked at the male and rolled her eyes. He had always been a charmer. Crazy man, but he was also a very good friend and very loyal. She rolled to him and took his hand away. "Dear, will you please take Tayva here to the back and get her fitted?" She smiled sweetly and batted her eyelashes. The man chuckled and nodded. He waved for Tayva to follow him and lead her off in to the store.
Korina sat with the dragon in human form and watched them walk away. Then she turned to look at the male. "So...who are you really? There's something...special about you. Something different." She propped her elbows upon her wheelchair arms and cupped her hands together. Her chin settled in to the cup there as she looked upon the male. She raised an eyebrow daintly over her left eye. "So, how about it Mr. Big and Silent? Gonna spill?" She chuckled and shook her head. "Immsorry, I don't mean to pry. It's just that I'm always such a curious person."

With a nod, Tayva followed Korina's friend along to the back as she had requested, wondering how long it would take for her to get prepped and fitted. She couldn't imagine that there was too much she would have to wear, but never before had the girl experienced flight without the aid of a plane or a dragon, so almost anything could be possible today.
Glancing over at the woman that Tayva seemed to have befriended, Talos knew well enough that he could not reply back to the woman, even if he wanted to. He was not used to the ability of speech in his human body, leaving him physically mute. He remembered the notepad in Tayva's bag, which she kept with her in case she needed to write down something important.
The dragon had taken up learning written English, as Tayva had pestered him time and time again to be more social, despite his nature. Perhaps now it would come in handy, to perhaps discourage the female from continuing what would likely end up being a one way conversation, for her benefit. He didn't want to seem like a jerk (although he kind of was), but rather his lack of response was due to the fact that he was unable to do so.
Pulling out the notepad and one of her pens, he began to scrawl down a couple of words, trying to take care to make his work legible. Upon completion, he turned the book around to have it face Korina:
The male lead Tayva to the back of the store where he directed her in to a fitting room. "Alright. I'm gonna get you a harness and a parachute just incase. Also I'm gonna get you a body suit. What size clothing so you where?" He waited till she answered then left on get her the items in the correct size. He returned and handed them over the door so as not to intrude upon her privacy. He waited several more minutes and then called out. "How does the suit fit? Ok? If some come out and we will adjust the harness to you and you can pick out a glider."
Korina watched the male in fascination as in response to her question he pulled a pad of paper out and began writing. She knew exactly what was wrong. A mute....the male couldn't speak. He confirmed that when he turned the paper around. She was curious now. "If you don't mind me asking...where you born that way? Or was it some sort of accident or something?" She smiled kindly to show she didn't think him some sort of freak or weirdo. That wasn't like her. She was a kind hearted soul, rarely had she hurt anybody on purpose. That's why she had been a mechanic and weapons maintainer and developer. She knew the need for violence even I she herself rarely engaged in it.

"Just a medium." Tayva replied, watching as Korina's friend left and returned with the suit that was intended for her size. Once more she was left to herself to dress in the one-piece attire. Sliding it on with ease, she zipped up the front, before calling back out to the man to let him know that she was ready for the adjustments.
As Korina questioned the dragon once more about his condition, he began to scribble down underneath his original sentence, running a horizontal line between the old and new statement to divide them. When finished, he held it up for her to read once more:
"Dont remember. I was always like this as far as I can remember."
