In the Shadows.

Korina gripped the girls hand firmly and helped her up. She may be nothing but human, but she knew what she was doing at least. She watched the girls face intently, seeing the looks going across it; first of a look between halte and regret, then a resolved look as the girl was clearly making her mind u'p about something. See her like that made her smiled. "There! See that's a good look! It means you have made up your mind."

Korina paused to think about what the girl had asked, rubbing her chin as she contemplated hard. Finally she spoke in a slightly hesitant voice. "You know Ashlyn...I don't think I have done anything for a very long time. I tend to spends days here in my lab working anf that's all. That and practicing with my rifle is all I really so. So it would appear we are in need of finding something fun to do. So tell me....do you like anything? Swimming, movies, animals??" She miles as she asked the question waiting to hear her answer so she could begin to plan an outing or something to do.

The vampyre thought of Korina's question. What did Ashlyn like to do. She liked something for sure. But it's been such a long time. She let out a sigh, and scratched the back of her neck. Suddenly Ashlyn had an idea. She used to go see plays with her family all the time. NAd movies too. They'd hop in the car in the garage. And then drive to the movie theatre. They'd use the below parking lot that had a door inside. And avoided any sun inside. It was fun to sneak around the sun and to see a movie too.

"I like to watch movies, and plays. But I don't really know what's new these days." She thought out loud.

She pursed her lips. What sounds like fun. Maybe seeing a movie would be nice. Ashlyn got lost within her thoughts. Pondering the question of what to do.

"But I don't know abou the sun. The movie theatre and community theatre we went to had underground parking. And we could avoid the sun." She said still lost in her thoughts.

Korina watched the girl thinking intently and smiled. Then the girl came up with an idea. "It's alright Ashlyn! I'm sure we can come up with something. Lets see, there's lots of movies playing. I even have an idea of one you may like. I know I wanna see it!" She smiled and thought about how to get to the movie theatre then snapped her fingers.

She pulled out her cellphone and opened it. She pushed one button and listened for a second. "Hey, Alphonso, I need a ride and have a Vamprye companion with me. No it's not a guy! Yes she seems to be nice and not a deprived, blood sucking murdering psychotic. Anyways, can you please give us a ride, in that special vehicle please? So she doesn't burst in to flames. Thanks Al, I love ya!" She smiled and hung up turning to Ashlyn. "There! He has a special car with tinted windows. I use to have a Vamprye roommate and we needed that car so we tinted the windows." She grinned and moved to the leave the lab.

"Come Ash, lets go!" She grinned motioning for her. Korina had not been on a date for a while, whether it was a date with just a friend or a special person. This fell under the friend group but still she was excited.

Ashlyn followed Korina. Even if she was a little nervous with going out with the sun out. Putting that behind her, she smiled as Korina got excited. It was quite entertaining actually. And Ash could already tell she would enjoy herself. Which was an amazing thing. She hadn't done that in a long time. Ashlyn was quite happy that she was getting this opportunity.

"So what movie will we be seeing?" She asked as they waited for Alphonso to get the car ready.

Ashlyn stopped to tie her shoes, which she needed to get new ones soon. She would have to have one of her families human servants get her some when she gets home. But thats another time to think about. Once she was done she looked up at the human, waiting for an answer to her question. She herself was getting excited. A day out with a friend.. WEre they friends. I guess you could say that. Either way Ashlyn had a big smile on her face, just as big as the human's. Maybe even bigger.
