It had been a few weeks since Drew moved to his new city. He was living as fine as his dining was easy, and in New York, boy was it. In spite of his luck and his recent fun he realized he lacked many friends. Any real friends, anyway. He was able to implant memories into strangers and have them act as though they were old pals from high school, but he knew that he would never be able to regain that feeling of belonging he had while in L.A. He traveled from bar to bar hoping to find someone with actual character and every night he ended up disappointed, but with a more-than willing meal. He traveled from every kind of bar, from Irish pubs, to regular bars, to gay bars, never finding someone he could call friend.
Tonight he sat alone inside of a regular bar, drinking some rum and coke. He sat at a table for three, with him positioned so he could look at the doorway. He waited for something interesting to walk in. He sipped at his alcohol and tried to reposition himself in his seat. He felt his butt getting numb from the hard wood chair while fiddled with his ring. Andrew sat silently thinking about everything that has led to this moment. He sat there looking at everyone, observing everyone, either looking for a someone to talk to, or someone who would be an easy target for tonight.
He let out a sigh, and right as he is about to stand up and leave he hears the door open, his eyes dart towards the door and stares, waiting for this mysterious person to come into his view. When the person came around into view he made a slight sneer in disappointment and plopped back down into his chair.
He rests his head into his hands as he drifts back into thought. He lets his hands go limp and he lets his face land, softly, onto the table in complete boredom. He sits back up and stares off into space, and launches himself deep into thought. "Why is there no one of interest in New York?" He mutters to himself as he finishes the rest of his alcoholic drink.
