The cougar leap from tree to tree, prowling through the treetops before pausing in one. His nostrils flared, sniffing the air as he hunted. He leap from the treetop and dropped to the ground below, landing lithely and began to trot through the jungle, stepping over roots and jumping up on to fallen trees to drop down upon the other side. He was here for s specific reason. Once, long ago he had been here and found a rare breed of draconian style dinosaurs, but had been forced to leave. Now he was back, and determined to find the origins of whatever that creature had been.
Pausing beside a small creek trickling through the jungle, he dipped his head and drank from the water. His tongue lapped in and out slowly, his eyes lifted to carefully watch the jungle before him. Water often attracted other creatures as well. Things that would not hesitate to attack him. Finishing with his drink, he leap across the creek and stepped back in to the jungle, seating himself upon his haunches and looking out over a clearing before himself. His pointed ears twitched from side to side like two satellites, searching for sounds out of place as his unusual eyes scanned around. Pure gold, with no whites or pupils would be seen upon his eyes if anybody where close enough to see them. His tail twitched from side to side along the ground behind him.

It was Krii’s first experience on Earth in a physical manifestation where he could truly scan the world for its treasures and glory. But what posed more of an interest was the populace, as expected the world had been grossly overwhelmed by humans and that merely sent shudders of discuss down the stem of his spine, however there had always been that mystery of adventure with beings that have unparalleled abilities or the stories you may hear in tales of great leaders, deadly Hellish monsters and of course the knights in shining armour.
The thought occurred to such a demon if truth were told but of course he had circled the world in a lesser form of essence and had seen nothing in particular or of significant interest until now. The jungles had called Krii to this part of the world and such a being would not leave within discovering the reason behind such a “Siren call” perhaps it was the wild life? Or maybe some form of creature yet to be seen by man; in any case he had to concentrate on the here and now.
The Demon stood at the doors of the jungle in the form of a human and an attractive one to say the least. He continued through the corridors of the thicket, brushing leafs, sticks and pushing them away from his torso whilst his legs were caught on a rebellious branch every now and again. His forte was never silence and he wasn’t going to start building on such a needless skill now but it was his keen perception of his surroundings and his ability to quickly learn and adapt that made him formidable in any environment.
This place was made for beasts and as such he would have to think like one, by then he had already caught the scent of many peculiar animals within his area. The brush swiftly turned into tall trees and stony hill zones to where he had begun climbing. His trainers barely gripping onto the dirt as it stained the lower parts of his detailed fashionable foot wear, Krii had no option but to use his hands and stalk like a mindless animal.
A good twenty minutes and the demon found him starring out at a horizon that complimented the jungles appearance even through that horrid experience the youthful male found it in his thoughts to forgive whilst his actions said otherwise as he merely spliced down trees that got in his way whilst he slid down the back end of the hill side. He stopped for a moment and noticed movement up ahead, glaring into to the view in front of him and his guard sharp, he demon remained deadly still, as if one movement could cost him the hunt of the newly found prey. On the outside he seemed like a normal frail human being but as legends do tell and for once had gotten right, appearances can be deceiving.
"You humans are always talking about hearts. It’s as if you have them in your hand. But my eye sees everything. Nothing can escape it. What it doesn’t see doesn’t exist. That’s how I’ve always fought. That's how I've always lived. What is a heart? If I rip open your chest, will I find it there? If I crack open your skull, will I find it there?"
The panther spotted movement far across the clearing, and tilted it's head to stare at it. A human being, or at least a humanoid. There where many things that could take the shape of a human, but where not humans. That was irrelevant however at the moment, and he stood up on to his four legs and stretched, three inch razor sharp claws gouging the ground as he stretched then began to trot towards the figure. His body moved with smooth, flowing motions typical of predators of the highest caliber and he came to stop ten feet away from the figure still standing in the jungle like a statue. The smell of fire and brimstone drifted across his nose and he twitched it. A demon then, only they gave off such a scent. It was as clear as a stencil tattooed upon their foreheads. Same thing with angels. They always smelled of honey and fresh hot baked bread. Why, he had absolutely no idea. It was just the way the cookie crumbled in this instance.
A disgusting grinding, cracking filled the air as his bones began to break and shift. They slowly rearranged themselves the fur upon his body began to slither and squirm upon his body. Fur slid back in to his body and his skin became smooth. He stood up, a full human being male again. He stood five foot nine inches tall, clad in a skin tight black leather vest with his arms bared. Black military cargo pants clad his legs and he was bare foot. Dirty blonde hair hung to just above his shoulders. He smiled to the other male, his sharpened canines on his upper and lower jaws flashing. A small leather bag hung from his side, with six lump with in it that held his secret weapon.
"Well, hello demon. What brings you so far out in to the jungle? Hopefully, it isn't me."

The male stood there, casual as if nothing had happened? Such odd mortals that walk these plains of existence these days, and laughable to his own sight, the cracking noises that filled the air reminded him of home but of course home is where you hang your kill but Krii’s kill wasn’t standing in front of him. He stared at the oddly dressed man and to find a shifter in the jungles wasn’t expected however if such a being could shift from form to form of different categorized animals then it also wasn’t unexpected after all it is a jungle and almost anything could happen.
It was a silence before the male broke it into a comment that then reflected into a question, an animal with the ability to talk? Or a human that has devolved to the point where he relies on his animal instincts like a beast and barely clinging onto his human side? The perspective made the demon smile and even chuckle a bit, what was more amusing is that he tried to show an attempt of formidability with flashy teeth, an obstacle easily removed with a well placed boot in the face.
It was a silence again before Krii deemed to answer his question, still keeping the act of being a human even if it was painfully obvious that he wasn’t and he knew not to underestimate others, perhaps this shifter shared an entwined insight and could catch the smell of his true nature, if so then it had already explained three weaknesses considering he highly depends on such senses including a sixth sense, hearing and smell. The plainly brown haired Krii then gave into the lesser existence request and so answered his comment, “My business is my own, friend, and one such as me hunting the likes of you, doesn’t seem pleasurable on my behalf.”
He stopped, placed his hands within the confines of his pockets and walked forward with a posture and poise that told others of his pride and superiority, by now it was unnecessary to hide it anymore. The demon walked straight past him without a second glance, then stopped for a moment with his honey-suckle gaze ever looking forward “And if I was, we would not be having this convocation.” An aura of fierce illusionary flames hummed around him, not as a show of power or to brag of strength, but to confirm that such a shifter would know what he was, like playing with the reaction he wondered what his “friend” would do in either case it would be amusing indeed.
The male watched the demon, smiling. Typical demon, always so prideful and thinking they are superior then others in all regards. He was use to it by now, but at least this demon seemed to have at least a sense of civility unlike most did to mildly curb his arrogance. As to his statement that it was none of his own business what he was doing here, well that was just the truth and he didn't mind it. In fact he didn't mind anything the male said at all. It was all just words after all. Words where simple, easily spoken. Actions where louder then anything. Like the adage "a picture is worth a thousand words", actions spoke clearly of who a person was far more then there words alone.
Sensing the none existent flames from the heat coming from the demon's body, he said nothing upon it for he already knew exactly what this man was. Not that it really mattered. People where people, and as long as he remained civil, and didn't overtly threaten him, he was perfectly fine. He looked around, sniffing the air and smiling. "Well, if you want to you can follow me. I am hunting a creature that might take more then I am capable of taking down myself." He shrugged lightly, not really caring if the man came with him. If he died, he died. Nobody would really care, and nobody would really miss him. But at least he was going out how he wanted. And more importantly, he would make sure people found out about what he found in the first place.
He leap up in to a tree, lithely scaling it to the top and looked out and around, trying to get his bearings. He was looking for the mountains, and a valley that would lead deep in to them. Spotting the mountains, and waving away an angry bird he dropped back to the ground and and landed, bending his knees slightly to take the landing and stood back up, dusting his hands off. "I am headed that way in to the mountains. If you got nothing better to do...." He let it trail off and began walking in the direction he hand pointed and seen above, head looking from side to side as he stayed alert, knowing the closer they got, the sooner they would run in to something dangerous.

It was as expected, a cool, calm and collected individual with an enclosed mind to his nature and others. He did nothing but smile and as such a sensation of completion rushed through Krii’s body at the outcome, this little test was for mentality rather than physical language and as such the shifter had attempted to ignore such a aura as if gazing into the sun for too long and having to turn away from its sheer brightness and all this plus more. The demon could guess what was going through the males mind like it was written all over his face, the cliché thoughts of Pride and superiority had been noticed when he dismissed such an act. A quick man to judge another and yet it was refreshing to the damned souls mind, it was that silence again before the shifter once again spoke, but this time with emphasis with his words like trying to get the attention of someone for help in which this case it did indeed attempt . Though Krii’s attention was only half shown, his eyes glancing from one direction to another. Still with his back turned to the continuous speaking man that murmured something about a hunt and travelling to the mountains. However the simply dressed man had ideas of his own for that of a ruin that was close by for it was never the creatures that drew his attention but his minor interest in craftsmanship.
A simple answer purred through his peerless supple lips to the shifters last comments “I do have better things.” His tone was sharp but kept to a lilt as if being in the same spot bothered him, as such he also made his way from the previous location he had met such a being from his attention drew him away whilst he heard the soft footsteps of the beastly fellow quieting as they once more separated from each other. Krii’s own wits were about him whilst he once again brushed his hand across the trees and branches swiftly make his way through the jungle trees, though it would be easier to destroy such an inconvenience but was reluctant to draw such needless attention to him. It wasn’t like he respected nature, life or the forest but it being bothersome if others dwelled within a humid place and were “accidentally” killed by the deforestation committed by the demon.
