"I'm gonna kick his ever lovin' ass when I get my hands on him." She grumbled, which seemed to be a favorite past time of hers lately. A heavy thud pounded un-rhythmically as she climbed the cold stone steps to the top of what ever ancient Mayan pyramid she happened to be climbing on this night. "Don't get me wrong, because we all know how much I absolutely adore Meh-HE-co, especially after the whole, conquering Spaniard bastards searching for 'their' Fountain of Youth. Bunch of horny old cods."
There she was talking to herself again. 11 months she's been searching for her dear friend, and was about ready to give up and head back home. If anything could be classified as "home". She kicked a stone, which flew through the air, landing about 20 feet away from her.
Her long black hair was loosely braided down her back, the cool summer night air, clinging to her skin from a long day in the hot Mexican summer sun. Her olive tone skin, took on a darker tan as her bright green optics scanned about the place, before slamming the palms of her hands down onto a rock and hoisting herself over.
You know, because it's easier to go over, then around. She stood on top of the rock for a moment before sighing. What a load of crock. She shouldered the tan backpack she wore. Her thin grey sweat shirt pulled over a white tank top, that covered her top half, grey hiking shorts, covered the bottom half of her body. She groaned deeply and rolled her eyes, before sitting down on the boulder.
This man always has and probably always will drive her bat shit crazy.
The cougar lay in a tree, or more correctly the Puma concolor lay upon a branch of a tree. Half lidded eyes revealed solid gold orbs with no visible pupils. Long tail hung down the side of the branch, twitching in the soft wind blowing through the tree tops. A voice broke the natural silence of the jungle, causing many creatures to cease their own noises and the lids slowly opened upon the eyes of the mountain lion to reveal the strange orbs. The tail stopped its slow side to side twitching motion, and the large feline slowly rose to it's feet, stretching idly as three inch long razor sharp claws extended from the sheaths upon it's feet gouging marks in to the bark of the tree beneath the padded feet.
Finishing it's stretching, the feline leap to the ground twenty feet below himself and he glanced around. He watched as a rock skittered to as stop at directly in front of his paw and the head lifted casting his eyes before himself in the direction of the voice. With a bat of his paw he returned the rock along it's original trajectory, sending it directly back at the speaking voice of the clearly half sane person babbling to...yes herself as if somebody could actually hear her. The feline slowly walked forward slipping from the trees and looking up upon the rock female standing upon the rock.
Staring intently for several seconds, the lips of the feline parted and jaws slipped apart opening the mouth to reveal razor sharp teeth as air was drawn through the nasal cavities. The air was suddenly expelled, the high pitch yowl of the infamous mountain lion rending the air towards the female as the feline's hair stood upon end, tail slashing the air from side to side as the beast hunkered down preparing to pounce upon the female babbling to herself.
She paused in her ramblings as the rock came flying back to her. "What in the ever lovin..." She bent down and picked it up, before looking in the direction that it came from, her green hues flashing brilliant orange as they laid upon a stalking feline. Her nostrils flared as she scented the air about her, mixtures of spices and flora filled her nasal cavity, as well as a wet dog sort of smell and the mixture of several other animals. She couldn't pull the scent from the feline before her, which she relied heavily on. A sly smile pulled at the corners of her mouth as she watching the stalking beast.
It wasn't until it the beast hunkered down that Zel's own eyes narrowed. Her body instinctively built up it's power, before she went to a fighting stance, her legs spreading a bit further then shoulder length apart, crouching a bit, her left hand ready for the whip wrapped around her waist as her right hand went out with a finger extended, tucking it inwards in a come hither movement. Her orange eyes gleamed brightly in the moon light as she stared down the feline now. ready to defend herself if she needed too.
Caguuror watched the female turn towards him, smiling in his direction and taking upon a fighting stance. He chuckled to himself in his head. Always ready to fight she was, regardless of who or what it was she was facing. A charming quality, but one he was sure would be her down fall one of these days. He stayed as he was before the female, then suddenly a second mountain lion split from his own body, prowling slowly towards his left around the female in a half circle as still another third cougar split from him prowling to his right. A perfect illusion that would trick the eyes, ears, and even nostrils unless one of these false beasts touched the female.
Slowly all three of the beasts began to move towards the female, each hunkered down creating less of a target. Suddenly, both of the illusionary predators catapulted themselves at the female, talons extended and fangs bared as each loosed the blood curdling yowling of the mountain lion. Just as the mountain lions would reach the female, complete darkness coated the area cut the vision of the female to nothing (Blanket of Darkness). However nothing touched her flesh; no talons rending, no fangs sinking, not even a whisper of wind tugging at the hair. Thick, cloying darkness hung around the female and a deep chuckling finally filled the air. Then came the first feeling of contact....something brushed against her left side. Then immediately something touched her right leg. A voice seemed to fill the air around her, coming from everywhere, yet no where at the exact same time (Voice Trick) like a deep echo with in a cavern. At moments it would appear to be whispering in her ear, at other times roaring from a distance.
"Zelozelos, what is it you think you are doing? You think you can disappear for so long, then simply come waltzing back in to my life? You think I will make it so easy for you? You think I will simply, appear for you and make it so easy?" Wind whipped about suddenly, howling like a pack of wolves around the female and the darkness suddenly vanished, revealing the male standing before the female. Dirty blonde shoulder length hair moved around his cheeks and shoulders, arms crossed as metallic Talons clicked against his upper forearms. Tattered remains of a red cloak hung around his throat, whipping in the wind. Chest bare and muscled, black leather trouser encasing his legs the God of Nature stood before the female and smirked, revealing sharpened top and bottom canines, solid golden orbs flashing with mirth.
"Why have you come back, Zelozelos? What makes me so important to hunt down now?"
She watched curiously as the beast split into three beings. Once they started circling her she paused and stood up straight, her head tilting to the side a bit. Her nostrils flared and she blinked a few times, before her hands went to her hips. The lions leapt at her, which she twitched to move, only to have her sight cut off. She froze instantly, waiting for any sound, any hint of movement to give off the position of the creature.
She was a trained fighter, she wouldn't over react, and even though the darkness blinded her, she focused on her breath, knowing that it would be lifted soon. And such the caresses across her body caused her to tense, but she didn't move.
And then the voice. Her lips turned up in a grin as the voice assaulted her from all directions. "If you're going to use your voice to molest me, at least make it pleasurable." She spoke simply, before the wind picked up and he appeared before her. She scanned him up a down, assessing his being before connecting eyes with him and smiling sweetly. She clapped slowly and loudly, before her hands dropped to her sides and she acted appalled by how he greeted her. "Wow, jeez. Good to see you too Cag, how've you been the past 100 years? Good? Wow! Me too. No kiss hello, nothing. Your manners have flown right out the window." She said dripping in sarcasm as her hands went to her hips. "I heard rumor from a little birdy that you managed to get yourself into more mischief then me, which I didn't believe, until that brilliant display you just gave me." She studied him for a moment, before letting out a puff of air, her shoulders dropping. Her arms went out a bit in a sign of surrender. "You can't seriously still be mad after 100 years?" She eyed him, and then rolled her eyes, before dropping her arms and approaching him, stopping when she was a foot from him. "Of coarse you can." She huffed before looking at him. She sucked in a breath and closed her eyes before letting out a slow breath and opening her eyes, looking at him. "Alright Fine. I'm sorry. I was wrong and I shouldn't have said or did what I did. I was jealous, and I let it control me. " She watched him, waiting for his response.
He knew her, better then anyone else. Zel never apologized, which meant she honestly meant it. She wasn't hunting him down just because she had some bone to pick, but because she missed him. Plain and simple.
Ca'guuror sat watching the female as she spoke, unmoved and unmoving. He said nothing through her own personal tirade and simply stood before her, arms crossed and golden orbs trained upon her her unblinking. Then she spoke of his 'mischief' and he again said nothing nor did nothing, the wind dying down slowly leaving his hair to settle around his neck and shoulders and red tattered cloak to fall upon his back. Then....she began to apologize. His eyes narrowed at first, watching her dramatic show of hands and lips and eyes until she finally fell silent standing before him. His eyelids rose back to their full height revealing his eyes again, yet he still didn't move; standing as still as the stone he was standing upon he was.
After several moments of standing there like that, simply gazing upon the female he moved. A single finger, the right ring finger upon his left hand tapped against his bicep before lips slowly parted, upper and lower canines flashing in the slight light. "You broke that girl's left are three times, right arm once, three broken ribs, a dislocated jaw, and she never had kids ever again thanks to your knee between her legs Zelozelos. All for a little comment and brush of a hand?" He continued to gaze at her, then his lips slowly turned up in to a smile.
"However....that isn't what I am upset about. I am upset for a totally different reason...can you guess what it is? I'll give you a hint...look in a mirror." He smirked, shaking his head. "Of course you do need to learn to control that jealousy and anger. It will be the death of you one of these days."
She watched him, standing there like stone. Once his finger began to move, her eyes darted quickly to his finger then to his face again. As he spoke the memory of that night came to her, and all she could remember was the raging anger she felt towards the woman. The woman was just plain stupid. Zel and Cag had arrived together and had sat together and were talking together and this drunken whore of a woman came over and started hitting on it, blantently and annoyingly. Zel wasn't going to have it. They weren't together together, but the fact of the matter that the women didn't know that and still did what she did pissed Zel off. She shook her head, clearing the whelming anger she still felt about the moment and looked at him. " I paid for her hospital bills, as well as her reconstructive surgery. They also stumbled upon enough money for a surrogate, and are now blissfully drowning in children." She sighed and crossed her arms, before he mentioned looking in the mirror. She grinned and turned a bit looking at her ass, before looking back at him. "I could stare at this sexiness all day long" She said with a tease, before her grin softened to a smile. "We both know I have jealousy issues. If I had stuck around, Goddess knows I'd've probably ended up killing someone because of it,"
Cag sat and watched Zelozelos be a smart ass, checking out her own ass and mention how sexy she was. He raised an eyebrow at her, looking her up and down. "I suppose you are, but I have seen better in my days. However, if you find your own ass so appealing I can remove your head and reattach it backwards permanently for you. Then you can stare at it all day as well as all the sad excuses for male's who usually are slavering over it like a pack of manged dogs. Or if you preferred whatever it is they do to it...."
He fell silent, eyes narrowing. Zel was a great friend, however girlfriend material she wasn't. A little... promiscuous was what Cag would call her, with lovers many even if she didn't really love them. He wondered if that had changed in the female or not...either way it was not really any of his business. She spoke of jealousy over himself, yet she had never seemed to worry back in those day's if he was jealous over her and her lovers. Amusing now in his mind and it caused a lingering smile to stretch his lips.
"So...you found me Zel. Now the question is...why? Why is it you have sought me so hard? Why now of all times, and why is it you only sought me after I as you so kindly put it "got in to mischief"?"
She raised a brow as he spoke about reattaching her head. It seems he's gotten an ego now. She crossed her arms and looked at him. "You make it sound like I'm some sort of...whore." Her eyes narrowed at him. "I'll have you know I was mostly a virgin until about 75 years ago, and I only say mostly because of the time we-" She abruptly cut herself off and pointed at him. "It's none of your business! Just because I made one bad decision...to save your life, might I add, you assume the worst. " She was referring to the time she joined Exodus and "dated" the leader. Dated is more of a loose term of the agreement that the pairing was. She stayed by his side, he didn't kill everything and one she loved or cared about. It turned out beneficial for her; the man and all who served under him taught her to fight. Could Cag have defended himself? Most likely, but she wasn't going to have that on her conscience.
Silence.
"butt head"
She turned her back to him, and plopped down on the rock she had been standing on, her legs dangling over the edge, as she placed her palms down on the surface of the rock. She wasn't angry, not really. A little hurt that his ego seemed to have made an asshole of him. This wasn't the Cag she knew and remembered, and even then she knew once she heard that he had achieved some sort of God hood that probably the power had gone to his head. She just hadn't realized how much. No longer was he the playful joking Cag she knew and loved, but this shell version of him, she was liking less and less the more he spoke.
"I knew this would happen to you. Power destroys everything."
The male arched an eyebrow above his left optical orb, a half smirk tugging upon his lips as she was clearly flustered. He remembered those days perfectly. Exodus, and their pathetic leader who thought he was such a badass. In reality he was nothing but a big bully, a bully Ca'guuror himself fought and almost brought down single handed but was stopped in the process when begged by friends to settle the dispute peacefully. He watched her throw a little Zelly fit, calling him a "butthead" and turned away to seat her rump upon a rock. He decided he had tested her enough.
He stepped forward, coming up behind her. His right hand extended, fingers reaching out and extending towards the back of her skull. They found their mark, twisting in her hair. They closed and clamped firmly upon the keratinized curls and jerked downwards. This pulled her head backwards, straining her neck. However he wasn't attempting to kill the female, or even injure her. Instead his lips parted, and his own neck pushed his skull downwards and his lips meet her flesh. He blinked, staring at the female straight in to her eyes....his lips wrapped around her nasal openings as he bite her nose.
Her head was yanked back as he entwined his fingers in her hair, causing her to look at him, as he bit onto her nose. She blinked several times gazing at him, before her muscles tensed in her left arm, flinging it forward open palm to the back of his head, smacking it a bit. Not hard enough to hurt, but enough to get his attention. She let out a slow breath from her lips, parting them slightly, before her tongue ran along them, wetting them.
"Are we 5?"
She asked, though she couldn't hide the smile in her voice, or the one on her lips.
Her eyes quickly flashed brightly, before she sucked in a quick large breath and blew out quickly through her nose launching a "snot rocket" into his mouth.
She burst out laughing, her hands clutching at her stomach as she fell over, whether he let go of her nose or not, either yanking him down with her or leaving him standing there staring at her.
"I think the answer to that would be a possible yes. At least we are the same age."
She giggled, before rolling to her back and stretching out, gazing at him.
(I know it's short, didn't really have much to work with )
As the corny female took a deep breath inwards Ca'guuror would phase allowing her disgusting ball of snot to pass uselessly through his mouth and out the backside of his head while also releasing the female as she fell forward. He watche her with a half smirk shaking his head and chuckling softly. "Same old Zel, never knowing when to be serious." He gazed down upon her and simply stared at her. She really did look exactly the same as he had seen her the last time. He probably looked the same as well although he most certainly was not feeling like it. A pity, that with so much power came so much responsibility and care.
He looked away from her at the jungle then back down at her. "So, what really brings you back here Zelly. What really made you seek me out after all this time? It certainly wasn't to play childish games I am certain." He looked at her with his unearthly golden eyes, gazing in to her own orbs intently.
She shrugged as she thought about whether to answer his question truthfully or not. Her eyes gleamed bright orange, as she looked up at the stars, before looking back to Cag. She blew a piece of hair out of her face and put her arms behind her head.
"Would you believe me if I told you I was getting to old for this?"
That wasn't a lie. Sakio had settled down, had the secret under wraps, Zel, just wasn't needed at the Fountain any more. She wasn't needed anywhere, which for Zel it was an odd feeling. Thinking for a moment, she chewed her bottom lip a bit before sighing and sitting up, her hands falling into her lap as she looked up at him.
"You're the only real friend I ever had."
She pushed herself to standing with ease, so she was standing casually before him, she let out her breath slowly, letting her eyes rest, the orange glow fading lower and lower, until they settled to a light grey green with specks of a dirty sort of brown.
"I can barely even shift anymore, when I do it takes me days to recoup-orate. Even Sakio is having problems with her magic, her kids however, aren't. They shift just fine and set fires to their father's hair with ease. I thought maybe something or someone was causing the flux or drain or whatever it is, but I travelled to check the Fountain..."
Her voice faded a bit and she rubbed her forehead a bit, looking down.
"The waters are fading. And not by means of drying up. It's so polluted it can't even heal itself. It's beyond the means of saving. There is a single vile left of the water, but that is it. Sakio has it under guard."
When she looked back up to meet Cag's eyes, her own showed something, he would recognize in the eyes of anyone else, but had never been seen in hers.
"We are dying, Cag. Sakio and I. She is surrounded by her family, and I...I don't want to be alone when...It's time."
The young male god narrowed his eyes through put the femme's story. He was watching her face intently as she spoke, scrutinizing the shape shifting woman. The emotions expressing upon he face told no lie as she told her story. She wasn't lying, or at least she thought she wasn't. So the eternal Fountain of Youth, the Spaniards treasure of a life time, it was dying because from unknown reasons. Reasons that probably had extremely sinister, and ones he would need to look in to personally.
"Zelozelos....you will pull yourself together. You will not die. Not on my watch. Do you understand me. We, yes we, are going to get to the bottom of this. I think you and I both know how serious this situation is. If the Fountain of Youth is indeed being poisoned, that's and somebody and something knows about it and could have taken some of the waters BEFORE poisoning it. It also means they want to destroy ancient artifacts, and could even know of a way in to the home of the Gods. Even we have our enemies."
Ca'guuror stood up and brushed his hands upon his pants. He then extended his right hand, fingers curled slightly as he stared down at her with his golden pupiless eyes ready to pull the hopefully composed female to her feet.
