Under the sea
by Samuel E. Wrightdescription:;
The first thing most would say when describing Callan is the word pale. But, this was normal. She lived in the depths of the ocean; not a lot of oppurtunities for taning there. Her hair is jet black, her eyes a lovely ebony. Her tail, which begins around her waist, is a black as her hair. Once she saw a sailor (to whom's doom was quickly approaching due to her call), and he had an odd black marking around his arm. Fascinated, she visited land and had it replicated, getting what humans call a 'tattoo'.

A top made out of broken pieces of woven fishnet, of seaweed, andof othe pieces of material dumped into the ocean. Like the piece of silk she wraps around her arms. Also, a necklace found in the wreckage of a ship.

background:;
Mountains, valleys, ravines and lakes, Callen wants to see it all. But Callen was not always the wanderer she was, once thinking that she would never leave the ocean that was her home. In fact, the mere want to leave was slightly looked down upon, and she had grown up thinking that land was boring and useless. Land is bland, as she always used to think. This all changed with a simple dare.
A friend of hers visited, and as they chatted, they had somehow came across the subject of land. Her friend wondered what it was like, and dared Callen to go see. Barely ever one to back down from a challenge, especially such an easy one, she climbed aboard the shore, transforming into her humanoid form. And she saw it. She could see everything. Nearby, the hills, which had a blurry shape from her view underwater, stood firm and proud, a lush green. The sand, which had always just been a gold strip of land to her, felt so soft under her bare toes. She could see the ocean like she never had before, taking in it’s whole immensity as the moon’s rays danced upon the calm waves. It was marvelous.
Ignoring her friend, she continued further onto the land. She wasn’t followed, and her friends protests died out as Callen disappeared from the sight of the ocean. She came across scenes she had never seen before. Odd shaped stones, all almost identical, laid all clumped together nearby, and humans could be seen buzzing in and about them. A small piece of water stood nearby, and she trekked down the hill to go see it. She knelt by the water, finding it odd that it barely moved, unlike the ocean. Unable to stand the stillness, she touched it to make ripples, only to find that it was quite different than ocean water. Fascinated by everything around her, she made the choice that she wished to explore the strange wonders of land.
