Warren Read
Dread Pirate Read (His first name unknown to most) is the god of Luck and fortune. Up until recently, Dread Pirate Read has remained secluded and only appearing in isolated situations. This has lead to the creation of legend and myth surrounding the Pirate God who spends most of his time onboard a Colonial Era Ship of the Line. When this god has made one of his rare appearances, it is usually in the form of a pirate raid. Strangely individuals who encounter, and survive an encounter with this god find that things surprisingly go their way unusually often. Those who anger this god quickly find that bad fortune and superstition are more than just belief and myth. This god delights in bringing wealth to the unrightfully downtrodden and socially outcast members of society and dislikes all forms of Tyranny and oppression.
Hero/Heroine of the Dread Pirate Read:
Those who please the Dread Pirate Read significantly might become a Hero/Heroine of the Dread Pirate Read; that is, they will be granted blessings that vary by tier. Each tier of this nature is progressively more beneficial than the last, and past blessings are retained. Those who attain the fifth tier as a Hero/Heroine of the Dread Pirate Read are very powerful indeed, fighting for the glory of their God with abilities that approach Godliness in and of themselves.
Probability - The first tier of official favor has been gained from The Dread Pirate Read. Those who have gained the favor of Probability have been marked with a tattoo of a pair of dice. Those with the favor of probability have luck on their side. Chance seems to swing in the direction of those blessed with probability, causing them to succeed more often than one might consider normal. These people are the ones people often call lucky.
St Elmo's Fire - The second tier of official favor has been gained from Dread Pirate Read. Those who are blessed with St. Elmo's fire have been marked with a tattoo of short length of rope tied into a knot that's engulfed in blue flame. Those with St. Elmo's fire have been gifted with the ability to call upon the spirit of St. Elmo (St. Elmo's fire) in order to guide their path. They may ask a question and use St. Elmo's fire to provide an answer. If one flame appears than the course is bad and should be changed. If two flames appear, then there is clear sailing ahead and all is well. Probability of a reliable answer depends on the complexity of the question.
Piece of Eight - The third tier of official favor has been gained from Dread Pirate Read. Those whom have reached this tier are given a piece of eight. These unique ancient Spanish Dollar coins can be used to summon a creature of lore for a short period of time. When used with other pieces of eight, more powerful creatures may be summoned. When 9 pieces of eight are used they may summon beasts such as the Kraken of lore. There may only be nine pieces of eight at any one time with the exception of those who have surpassed this tier.
Lucky Seven - The fourth tier of official favor has been gained from Dread Pirate Read. The Lucky Seven have been marked with a tattoo of The number seven. They have the benefits attained at the prior three tiers, as well as a one in seven chance to be gifted with a new ability once a month. Should they be in luck, they will be bestowed with a random ability at the choosing of Dread Pirate Read. There may only be Seven lucky Seven at any one time.

Those who have gained 'The Lucky Half-life' have been marked with a tattoo of a lower-case Lambda. They have the benefits attained from the prior four tiers, but also gain the ability to cheat death itself. Upon being struck by any mortal blow, the favored of Read will enter a half-life state, continuing their life at the cost of half of their powers. Once a person graced with 'The Lucky Half-life' expend their ability, the Lambda tattoo disappears and the tail side of a pirate coin complete with Skull and crossbones appears on the backside of their hand, marking that they have expended their luck.
