Linette couldn't help but burst into a fit of giggles at Apollo's singing. It was adorable and whimsical; it took a moment for the meaning behind his lyrics to sink in. "You think I know how to.....?" She looked down towards her lady parts. The thought of anything poking out of there sent the chills down her spine.
She let out a quiet whine, but resisted giving them puppy dog eyes. She knew any attempt to get one of these boys into that cave would be like pulling teeth. "Well.... how hard could it be" she said tentivly and with that she began her trek into the cave.
The tunnel didn't go far til it reached the main cavern in which the massive prime Akhlut lay with Bayla by her side. At the Sight of Linette she let out a low growl; obviously not pleased by the sight of her. "You wouldn't by chance have any idea how to do this would you?" She sheepishly smiled at Bayla.
This girl is looking at me like she asked a question. Bayla stared back at Linette, who had been the only one brave enough to come inside the cave. She turned her head to look at the mother Akhlut, who was obviously weak but putting on a tough growl to Linette. The mother did the same for Bayla, but Bayla had a fearsome growl of her own that overpowered the mother's. The mother was afraid of her now, and when Linette came in and it started growling, Bayla growled at it again, silencing it.
The Akhlut mother was sitting at a corner where she could see both of the intruders. She was breathing rapidly to keep her body under control, but Bayla could tell that the mother was slowly withering away, and the only thing keeping it alive was its child. Bayla stood near the mother, but only two meters away. If she got any closer then the mother would show its teeth and Bayla would fight it instead of helping it.
I think she wants something from me... Bayla told Apollo. Something, but I don't know what.
Maybe she wants you to help her deliver the baby.
Bayla laughed inside her head.
Do you know how to deliver a baby? Apollo asked.
Of course I know how, Bayla answered. I am a mother after all.
YOU'RE A- Just help her! Apollo yelled. Bayla would have yelled back at him if it were not for the fact that the Akhlut mother was giving birth. The mother tried to stand so that the baby could come out easily, but she was weak and fell down as fast as she stood up. Bayla raced towards the Akhlut, not caring that the mother was being defensive, she was too weak to harm Bayla anyways.
The wolf shaped dragon positioned herself below the Akhlut, then used all her strength to help the Akhlut up with her back. The Akhlut mother could stand now, but the main challenge would be to get the child out of it. It's coming! Bayla screamed in Apollo's head.
~
"IT'S COMING, THE BABY IS COMING!" Apollo sang back to Linette. He was still outside with the man with the shot-gun. His goal was to keep the creatures away from Linette long enough for her to deliver the child. If things got too drastic, the stranger was there to make sure that the beasts did not make it to the cave. "So don't waist your time, get BEHIND, and deliver that CHILD!"
His voice was becoming sore from all the singing. Soon he would have nothing but a man with a shotgun to protect him, if the man would at protect him at all. The main worry that Apollo had was how he was going to get out of this situation. There were giant wolf orcas that would kill him at the moment he stopped singing. He needed an escape plan, something that assured his and everyone else's safety.
Apollo then conjured up an idea. If his singing was enchanting enough to bring the Akhlut to tears, he could probably use it to tame one of these creatures. It was worth a try, and Apollo tried.
He slowly walked towards one of the beasts that hid in the forest. His singing style went from one you would hear at a play to one you would hear at an opera. One of the creatures responded to him, slowly moving towards him as he did towards it. Apollo reached out his hand and the creature licked it. Taking this as a sign of acceptance, Apollo cupped the creatures chin, and it licked his cheek.

Suddenly, Jack felt a lot less confident that his shotgun would protect him. He couldn't quite describe the feeling but it sort of felt as though the rules had... changed, all of a sudden. That sucked. It was a definite game changer but whatever. The young man had always found a way to do survive, even if he wasn't the best shot with the various weapons he carried. Besides, Jack still had some magic up his sleeve. That would have to be enough. It always had been, right? He would live. He would.
Meanwhile, the others seemed to have their hands somewhat full delivering the Ak's baby. Jack didn't care about that, though. He was slightly worried that no one else seemed to feel the need to take aggressive action against the pack of Akhlut that were surrounding them, currently enchanted by the singing. The young man stole a glance towards the others. He didn't want to leave them but he also didn't want to be eaten by monsters. For now, Jack would stay.

Balya assisted the mother Akhlut in her attempt to stand;she didn't seem to fond of either of them but the labor pains had seemed to sap most her strength from her. She'd occasional let out a few growls of pain. Linette felt extremely sorry for the poor mother; she could only imagine the pain she must be going through.
"I saw the light fade from the sky On the wind I heard a sigh As the snowflakes cover My fallen brothers I will say this last goodbye" Linette sand to try to soothe the akhlut, and help her push through the pain. She'd remembered hearing that some people gave birth in bath tubs, so she formed a warm pool of water behind the mother and motioned for Bayla to help her into the pool.
"Night is now falling So ends this day The road is now calling And I must away Over hill and under tree Through lands where never light has shone By silver streams that run down to the sea Under cloud, beneath the stars Over snow and winter's morn I turn at last to paths that lead home" Linette continued to sing as Bayla helped the Prime into the pool, and as if on cue the mother let out a loud bark of pain. Linette could make out a small head emerging and she knew the young pup would be out soon; so she continued her song trying to provide as much comfort to her as possible. Occasionally looking to Bayla to see if she was doing it right.
"And though where the road then takes me, I cannot tell We came all this way But now comes the day To bid you farewell Many places I have been Many sorrows I have seen But I don't regret Nor will I forget All who took that road with me Night is now falling So ends this day The road is now calling And I must away" The continuous pushing continued and with one final effort the new mother pushed the young Pup out, and with that slumped into an exhausted heap panting heavily. Linette pulled a blanket from her back and wrapped the new Pup in it. The youngster was adorable; she moved to show him to his mother and the look in her eyes was that of the purest love in existence. Sadly that the glimmer in her eye slowly faded, and she was no more. Linette began to cry at the loss of the pups mother and something strange occurred as she continued her song with tears streaming down her face she felt an almost magical bound to the young creature. Linette knelt on the cold cave floor crying with the young pup in her arms.

The girl began forming a pool near the mother. It did not take a genius to understand the girl's intentions then. When the girl began singing to the Akhlut mother, Bayla could feel so much powerful emotions. However, the emotion that was most prominent from the song was sadness, and she did not even understand what the girl was saying. That was the beautiful power of Euryale, the goddess of sound. It was wonderful, and Bayla could feel herself crying because of the girl's voice.
While the mother struggled to deliver the child, the girl provided as much comfort as she could think of. Bayla admired her kindness in the face of this dying monster. In her years of living on this world, she only noticed one other human/sentient that gave this much care for a random animal. Some humans were scum, the worst of the worst, but it was people like this girl and Apollo that always seemed to remind her that not everyone was bad. As long as Bayla was around people like this, she would never forget what it meant to have a true heart.
The baby pup was finally delivered when the mother made its final roar. The girl quickly caught the pup and covered it with a towel. It was a cute little thing, Bayla noticed, and would probably grow to be as fierce as its mother. The girl showed the pup to its mother, then stared with sadness as the creature drew its last breath. Unable to control herself, the girl cradled the pup and began to cry. In this moment, all Bayla could do was stare at them.

"I think I can tame it," Apollo said to the new guy in his regular voice. Without a second thought, Apollo climbed onto the Akhlut's back, the one that he was just serenading. It seemed friendly when it allowed Apollo to pet it. However, that was when Apollo was singing. The minute he stopped, the spell on all the creatures in the area dropped. When Apollo was firmly on the Akhlut's back, he heard a low growl come from it. Along with that growl he felt an odd vibration. Before he could begin to regret his decision, the Akhlut went wild and began to buck in its place. Luckily, Apollo had a good hold on the beasts neck, or he would have been thrown off at the very beginning. Unluckily, the longer he held onto this beast, the more it seemed to become angry. It hopped and ran in place until it became tired, then it ran straight into the forest with Apollo still on its back.
While the beast Apollo was on began to run away from the cave, the other creatures that stalked them were racing towards the cave. Apollo wanted to scream the name of the stranger, warn him to run and get Linette to safety, but he lost sight of them quickly. They were now on their own, to deal with their problems on their own. At this moment, Apollo's problem was getting this beast he was riding under his control.

Jack blinked. He didn't know whether to say anything or not, so he chose to put it out of his mind, not feeling too terribly invested in what was going on. The surrounding pack of Akhlut didn't seem to be growing any cuddlier, so he turned his attention to that growing issue. The young man was worried, less for himself than for the others he was with.
"Go for it," was Jack's only reply when Apollo expressed his interest in taming an Akhlut. The young man's grip on his shotgun tightened. Was he gonna have to start killing stuff? It was starting to look that way. Jack sighed. It would be an exhausting fight. He could leave them, go do something more fun. Like play video games or maybe grab a burger. A burger sounded really good right about now. But no. He wouldn't leave them. Not until they were reasonably safe, anyways.
So, as the creatures began to race toward the cave, Jack had already made his way back into the entrance, shotgun at the ready, loaded with overkill. "Ms," He called back, eyes forward. "The rest of the Ak are coming! We should probably maybe leave? I dunno, just a suggestion."
