Reaper Overview A very peculiar species, Reapers are what the Grim Reaper in folklore was based off of. Their body is made completely out of bone; their organs are actually contained inside of the bone structure. Despite this skeletal appearance, it is only an exoskeleton and Reapers still possess al other body tissues and organs, such as eyes and hearts. Reapers are born without an exoskeleton, but slowly build one up over the first few years of it's life. As it grows the layers would crack, fill in, and thicken. This leads to much more severe growing pains than other species, mostly due to the fact that they're literally growing out of a shell and then regrowing it as their body thickens and matures. This proceeds for about 26 years, which is when they reach their final height. However, they are not considered adults until the age of 500. They consume bone marrow of the dead, which furthered their “Grim Reaper” persona. They must do so due to the fact that they lack the necessary faculties to produce enough white blood cells on their own, thus requiring them to consume the WBC-making marrow of other creatures to make up the difference. If a Reaper suffers damage to the exoskeleton, they will begin the slow process of regrowing it once again. They are shrouded in mystery and not very extensive in numbers because a Reaper can only have two offspring in their lifetime. Some Reapers will associate with Humans, but most avoid it for the well-placed fear of being captured and experimented on and eventually caged up or killed. Therefore, they usually only interact with other Reapers and the more placid of mystical beings, preferring a life of sage wisdom and peacefulness. It is rare, not unheard of, however, for a Reaper to take advantage of their appearance and become a killer, warlord, criminal, etc, though such behavior usually motivates other Reapers to hunt the rogue Reaper until their demise. Reapers are know to live up to 3000 years old. They also possess enhanced night vision. Innate Abilities Reapers are intuitive, with an innate 'Sixth Sense'. They can also amplify their frightening image with 'Aura of Fear'.
