The picture above is of Leta’s human form. This is the form she is currently trapped inside of. She is 5’7, with curves in all the right places, she moves with a feline grace and she strikes with terrible claws and teeth. When she is angered there is darkness around Lea and her eyes, so blue and beautiful, turn a discoloured lime green. She is created to look beautiful because it draws humans, and other creatures to her, she stands out from a crowd but can pass unseen should she want to.

Leta has always been a servant of the Gods, most formally Forgery Zaytsev, the God of Deception, as were her fore-fathers. Her mother use to speak proudly of the time when the Sphinx were given the task of guarding the Gods themselves; then the great darkness came- the hunters seeking to better themselves, the humans looking for a way into the heavens. Leta’s father was a traitor; he allowed a group of humans to slip passed and into the gates of glory. He was weak, he had fallen in love with a human girl, and he was pathetic and brought shame to their family. Leta was twelve when she killed him, twelve when she destroyed set upon him and took his heart from his chest.
Her family were casted out because of that; heartbroken her mother, Skira, begged the Gods to be fruitful to their family. Leta and her mother were disguised as humans and sent to Egypt. There they were to live forever.
Only nothing is so simple as all of that. Skira despised her daughter, could not look upon her without seeing the blood of her husband, could not speak to her without being terrified with nightmares and hatred. Skira sent Leta to join a travelling circus; the girl was young and still learning the ancient passed and rituals of her people, she was still thirteen when she was separated from her mother and embarked upon her own journey.
Over the years she has grown into a glorious performer and over the years she has learn a lot. She travels with a group of immortals, after all, circus’ are rarely made up of humans, and she had grown to love these people as her family. Here she had many brothers and sisters and parents who looked after her and loved her; but Leta knew she could not stay.
On her eighteenth birthday she left the circus, slipping into the darkness of the night. For the last 3 years she has been searching for the door to Shangri-la, for the gates of the heavens where she intends to retain her place beside her brothers in arms; she intends once more to give her service to the gods and guard the doors of their walls. Her adventure has taken her to many places, and she has met many interesting people; having been to Rome and to Greece, having visited America and Russia, she has picked up lots of stories and learnt lots of skills; all of which have turned Leta into a formidable, beautiful woman.

About Sphynx:
They're a noble species, holding their heads high whether living in Shangri-La still or on Earth. Originally they were guardians of Shangri-La, protecting its walls ferociously with amazing feats of acrobatics and deadly accurate blows. They are respected on the battlefield for this, but also for their strategic minds. They are quite brilliant, being able to keep conversation with the most intelligent of beings. They can frustrate, though, as many of them tend to speak in riddles.
