"Maybe I could tell them I want to study other species? Would that work?" Stillia looked up on the moon, but, as per usual, it didn't respond. "No that'll never work.." She mumbled to herself.
The gorgon girl was currently trying to figure out a way that would make the nest agree to let her leave and explore. One that didn't involve banishment, and didn't involve sneaking away. She wanted to be able to explore the world and come back to friendly arms.
So far, she couldn't find the right excuse.
She had come to the little grove of trees every night for a fortnight, sneaking away from the nest while the others slept, for she found that she could think clearer when she had such beautiful scenery as the night sky to look upon while she thought.
"Well, maybe I could say it's to better understand Medusa?" She mused. "But how am I supposed to make that work..?"
A crackle of leaves, and Stilia instantly turned. Before she could look upon the maker of the noise, a sharp pain came from her neck. Blackness instantly took most of her vision, and she was too weak to even pull the dart from her neck. All she saw as she fell was her attacker's dark, blurry shape.
When Stilia awoke, she was disoriented quite a bit. Her vision seemed impaired by bars the color of metal.
A cage!
She instantly shot into a standing position and grasped her dagger... Which wasn't there. She heard a laugh; people were watching her! She hissed menacingly at them, and tried to claw at them with her fingernails, but they were out of reach. Her arm slumped back to her side, and brushed against her side.
She realized, with embarrassment, that she was unclothed. The bastard who took her had took her shirt! Usually, this would cause Stilia to hide herself, but she was enraged; all she could think about was hissing and trying to claw her laughing watchers.

It hadn't taken long for Devereaux to hear the news about a strange snake-lady being captured. His fondness for sneaking around and eavesdropping made obtaining information and gossip of this nature fairly easy. But the young shifter had been doubtful. He assumed that finding a gorgon and capturing it would be rather difficult, so his small bit of info was likely to be a hoax. But he decided to venture out and confirm his suspicions instead of succumbing to boredom.
But things like this needed a disguise. After some of Dev's last encounters, the boy decided it best not to go far without the proper attire and face. He donned a hat that suspiciously resembled a top hat, rolled up the sleeves of his white buttoned shirt, and replaced his street shoes with something a bit more classy. After a brief moment, the boy found himself looking in the mirror and finding the reflection of a clean shaven man some where in his late twenties staring back at him. With a sigh, the shape shifter removed the dog collar from his neck and slipped it into his pocket, placing in it's stead, a bland, neutral-coloured tie. Dev rearranged his hair and crowned himself with the hat. For now, he was officially Henry Snatch.
The blurry outline of a man was barely visible in the shadows of the room, but his eyes gave him away. They reflected in the dim light like an animal's, forming the appearance of two piercing orbs concealed under the brim of an unusual hat. A thin smile spread across Henry's face in the darkness giving him the likeness of the Cheshire Cat. He'd first learned about gorgons and other beings from a fellow shape shifter, but since they'd parted ways, his curiosity had peaked, not only on his own species, but on spectrum of other non-human creatures as well. Like finding your favorite celebrity sitting a seat away from you on the bus, seeing a real gorgon was a treat.
And here he was, standing in a muddled group of laughing men with a caged gorgon. It felt like being at a zoo. Well, almost.

"I dare you! I dare you to approach, and we'll see who's laughing then!" She shouted, reaching her arms as far out as she could to try and scratch them. How it would satisfy the usually non-violent gorgon to have her hands grab their eyes, and rip them out. How it would make her blood coil in delight if she got to send theirs spreading across their clean shirts.
"As if we were that dumb!" One of her watchers argued back.
She grinned, an idea forming. She slithered to the back of her cage. "Then may I propose a contest of speed? One approaches, and we see if he cn get out of the way before I rake him with my nails. Any takers?"
Oh how delichiousoy bloody this would be, she thought, if one agreed. She had quite a brilliant plan in her mind, although it was simple.

Henry blinked at the gorgon's challenge. He pulled a out an old pocket watch and checked the time non-nonchalantly. As his normal self, Dev would accept such a challenge in the blink of an eye, however, Henry would not. Keeping to himself, locked in character, the shape shifted boy waited patiently for someone to take the gorgon up on her offer.
No one stepped forward.
With an exasperated sigh, Henry shrugged and pushed through the group of men until he was in view of the caged creature but still just out of her reach.
"Fine, fine. If no soul ever has the courage to play games with you, I wager you must be a rather bored creature. For your amusement, I'll take you up on your challenge. But, I refuse to anything until you are properly clothed." Henry smiled sincerely, glazing into the gorgon's eyes, truly feeling sorry for her and showing it. His voice was welcoming and smooth, like butter on warm toast, tipped by a slight English accent.
Holding out his hand, he offered the gorgon a shirt which he'd filched upon entering the dim room.

She blinked, surprised. Slithering slowing forwards as to not scare the man by any sudden movements, she took the shirt hesitantly and shot back to the farthest part of the cage. She donned the shirt quickly, and, although slightly large, it did help cut the chill of the cold metal floor of the cage. gorgons were cold-blooded, so she did not agree well with any sort of cold. The gorgon sat deep in thought for a moment, but came to a desision. "I will not spill your blood. I refuse to do so. you are kinder than they are." She gestured all the watchers with disgust. "So please step away."
If he refused, and she attacked, she would feel like a cheating liar. She had never said that she wouldn'y use her inborn power, but she felt like she couldn't use it now that this man had shown her kindness. She couldn't think of clawing open his insides like she could with the others, and hugged the shirt close to herself for warmth.
"I would much prefer another challenger. Or are none of you brave enough to face a young woman?" She sneered, and they bristled. She knew that few men would back down from a fight if their manhood was in doubt. She hoped one would come up, so she could Mesmerize him and try her hardest to slit open the challenger's throat with her nails and teeth. But she would not do it to the man who gave her the shirt. It went against her morality. What would the other gorgons think of her for harming the only person who gave her any kindness or help?
"I'll accept," Another man said, coming up to her cage with clapping all around him. Smiling, she waited until he looked into her eyes...
Now!
She instantly used her ability to Mesmerize him, and launched forward at him, for he would not move for a short minute or so. But before her claws could dig into his flesh, someone else snatched him away.
"I will not have you harm my customers." He turned to the crowd with a smile. "Behild my exquisite capture, whom I shall bid off at-" He stopped, having notices something. "Who gave the bloody wench a shirt?!"

Henry put on a look of astonishment as a rude comment was blurted out, obviously by whatever low life had confined the gorgon. Keeping his air of maturity on the outside, Dev chuckled to himself. Humans could be so amusing.
“I did, good sir. What kind of manners have you to cage a woman and sit her up without any attire what so ever? For God’s sake man!” Henry scolded, the slightest hint of a smile tugging at his thin lips. Ignoring the calls from the other men, he slid his eyes back at the gorgon. Eyes hidden from the other men’s eyes under the brim of his hat, Henry winked. The man straightened his hat to a more serious angle and crossed his arms over his chest.
Dev loved this. Messing around and causing problems for others was just too much fun. It was so easy to stir up a conflict when your own face wasn’t involved.
Vivian had been hunting for a member of her own ilk for some time know. Rumors had spread of another gorgon, far away from her home. So she had stolen aboard a train, dozing the hours away until she had arrived where it was rumored the other gorgon was. She slunk through the town, listening to people speak behind closed doors. Apparently, many live stock had gone missing, and several exceedingly long snake skins had been found. Vivian interest was piped. She shifted her ukelele more comfortably across her back, as she pressed harder against the door. The woman and man speaking obviously had no fear of being over heard and spoke loud and clearly, of a place a few minutes from the town where the serpent people had been spotted a lot of recent.
Having gathered enough information to suit her needs, Vivian set off into the night to find the others. She soon came across a clearing, but several hunters where upon the other side. She hid amongst the trees, watching and wondering what they where up to. When another gorgon appeared, a young female by the looks of her, Vivian could barely conceal her excitement. However, her excitement quickly faded towards anger as the youngling was tranquilized, and transported away. Anger boiled in her, knowing exactly how that felt. She followed the hunters, the one claiming to have shot her moved her into a cage where he removed her simple shirt and dagger, making no effort to conceal his wandering hands upon her body as the other men laughed. Opening her mouth, Vivian caught herself, holding her sonic blast back. She needed to know where they where taking the nestling.
The "owner" of the nestling got in the first truck in the row, and began to rumble away. Smirking, Vivian slowly unslung her ukelele, and slipped into the back of the second truck, hiding low so the male would not see her. She began to strum her instrument, singing a song of drunken forgetfulness. The man's driving slowly became slightly erratic, and he began to forget to use his turn signals a lot. Vivian held tightly, to the truck and her instrument. Her own simple leather outfit concealing her breasts kept her from rubbing her skin raw against the rough texture of the truck. Suddenly, the door slammed, and the man staggered out, disappearing into a building.
Vivian slowly raised her head over the top of the truck. She looked around. Many vehicles where parked around. But most notably, a large moving van was nearby. She thought about it and smiled. It would hold two female gorgons nicely. She slithered from the bed of the truck, and methodically went from one vehicle to the next, her sharp nails slashing tires until she had handicapped them all except for the van. Moving to the building, she looked around, trying to figure out a plan in her head. Spotting a near by ventilator grate, she jerked the grating from the wall and set it aside. She kissed her ukelele, for there was not enough room to bring it along and hid it back in the moving van. She then slithered into the ventilation of the building.
Making her way slowly so she didn't cause to much noise, she was extremely unhappy. She didn't care so much about the tight space, having to squeeze through many of them. But the freezing cold metal and the occasional burst of chilled air upon her body was drying her scales, causing her to itch unbearably. It was also making her cold, something she along with her entire species did NOT like in the least bit. Stopping, she looked through a grate just in front of her, and gasped softly. Below her in a cage, was the other gorgon. Many people where sitted around, and several where close by. She bit her lip, thinking hard. A male was being nice to her though. Giving her a shirt, and standing up for her....
Finally deciding what to do, she took a deep breath, and ripped the grating from the spot it was upon. She hurled it towards the nearest person she could see carrying a firearm, and plummeted through the hole. She gritted her teeth, knowing the slap against the ground would sting like crazy and hurt. Sure enough, it did and she even thought she felt a bone break. She would deal with it later, and just prayed to her Forgery that it was not permanent or life threatening or hindering. As she fell, she gathered air into her lungs, hyper expanding them beyond anything any mortal was capable of doing. His tail lashed out, wrapping around the young male who had given the other gorgon a shirt, dragging him to her with a sudden jerk.
Her hands clapped over the male's ears as she let loose her sonic blast, directing it towards the mass of grounded people. Her body being free again, but her hands still holding the man's ears, her tail instead wrapped around several bars, and using her immensely powerful muscles, she contstricted, crushing the bars to release the other female gorgon.

She smiled gratefully as the man stood up for her, and secretly winked at her. Perhaps she had a friend among these barbarians? Perhaps one who would allow her to escape from this cold cage?
As if summoned by her wishes to escape, something metal, shining in the lighting of the room, flew down and hit one of the armed men. There had been a few, but they hadn't reacted until now. Something large and green fell down from the air duct with a large slap. Stilia was thought surprised to see a fellow Gorgon, although one she didn't know.
The gorgon woman was larger than herself, looking a lot stronger too, but, Stillia was short for a gorgon, being only eight feet long. Stilia had never met that gorgon in her own nest, and wondered who she might be. The stranger did not have the looks of a Medusa gorgon.
She saw the gorgon grab her helper with her tail, and take a deep breath. She instantly knew what sort of gorgon it was, and covered her ears as the gorgon covered the male's. Even with her ears covered, she could still hear the piercing shriek that killed all the others, and Stilia could bet that the man's ears, although covered, where bleeding.
After the last of the men dropped dead, her savior crushed the bars of her cage with her large muscles, and Stilia gratefully slid through the opening. "Thank you."
She noticed her captor, the one who had planned to auction herself off to some rich man for whatever he wanted, and spat n his dead face in disgust, before turning to her savior.
"Thank you, I truly do owe you."
She also checked on her helper, the male. "And thank you for your kindness. May I know my two helpers names? I am Stilia of the Medusa line."

When a loud metal crash resounded across the room, Dev involuntarily spun around to see a large figure collide down from the metal vent system. He could hardily hide his shock as the second gorgon flung out her tail and gripped him. Then, Dev could barely comprehend what was happening when hands clapped over his ears, surprised plain on his face as a loud, unbearable sound rung out from the gorgon’s throat.
He slammed his hand up over the gorgon’s trying to block out the sound, the noise paralyzing him and giving him the urge to squirm all at the same time. Squeezing his eyes shut, he waited for the scream to stop.
Finally, when the sound dissipated and the gorgon released him, Dev blinked his eyes, rubbing his ringing ears. Running his gaze over himself, he was surprised to see that, one: he was still in a single piece, and two: that he was still in Henry’s form. Regaining his composure, merely raised his eye brows as he peered across the room, all the men dead. Then, he nonchalantly straightened his tie and walked over to where his hat had fallen. Henry scooped it up from the ground, dusted it off, and placed it back on his head.
Turning back to the two gorgons, the man smiled crookedly. He nodded toward the gorgon he’d helped, acknowledging her.
“Pleasure to meet you fair Stilia of the Medusa Line.” The shape shifter tipped his hat. “My name is Henry Snatch, but not all the time…” Henry introduced, his grin widened slightly. He didn’t want to reveal himself, yet all the same, he didn’t want the gorgons to feel like they’d been lied to. Then, the man flicked his gaze toward the other gorgon, awaiting her introduction.
