Vampire Dhampir, Daywalker, Prishtara, Hito’radeau, Roumari, Stone, Argonith, Xenyar, Occuilus, Mortumar Overview Vampyres are immortal creatures that obtain sustenance from the drinking of blood of other creatures. They are an unholy frightening thing in most mortals’ minds and have powers that rival other supernatural abilities easily. Their skin is usually slightly pale, due to an inability to create blood themselves and they procreate via injecting others with venom that does not kill their intended target. When a Vampyre bites another being with this venom, that being has a chance of becoming a Vampyre themselves if all conditions are met. Their hearts still beat, pumping the blood of their victims. Another trait of Vampyres is that they cannot be reflected in mirrors, pools of water, etc, allowing them to sneak up behind people who are focused on makeup or what-have-you. This means they also do not sow up in photographs or videos, however remember that in all of the above cases their clothes will still appear. They do not cast a shadow, but Vampyres cannot come in contact with direct sunlight or mirrored sunlight without suffering extreme burns from the ultraviolet rays. Therefore they have gained the ability to see in the dark. They are typically slightly more attractive than the average Human and superior in strength and speed significantly. Vampyres have retractable fangs that can extend when about to feed. Silver is toxic to Vampyres and wooden stakes can cause them harm that cannot be healed until the wood is fully extracted. When a Vampyre is born, the type of tree they are closest to (be it oak, cedar, pine, etc) will prove fatal if that type of wood is made into a stake and penetrates their flesh. Holy objects do not deter Vampyres and do not cause them harm. Vampyres can go between 5 and 15 days without feeding before dying, depending on how much blood they consumed in their last feeding and how active they have been. In addition, all Vampyres can create/use up to two Human Servants at a time. They have the strange ability to control how they age. Vampyres can pause their bodies, halting their maturing both physically and mentally. So, a 4000 year old vampyre could be an old man, or a stubborn little boy. Note: Vampyres must list what particular type of wood they are vulnerable to in their application. Simply put it under "Anything else?". For simplicity's sake, the options of wood are; Pine, oak, elm, birch, palm, redwood, and olive. Subspecies Dhampir - Half Human and Half Vampyre, Dhampir have all of the strengths mentioned above that are commonly attributed to Vampyres, but they are not vulnerable to silver or wood, but are still vulnerable to sunlight. They can heal quickly, but not as quickly as full Vampyres and they must feed more frequently than full Vampyres to survive, usually feeding every three days. Some full-blooded Vampyres consider Dhampir to be a disgrace to the Vampyre race and attempt to hunt them out. Daywalker - Half Human and Half Angel, the Daywalkers are exactly like vampyres, however they can walk freely in sunlight. They still possess a vulnerability to silver and wood, and still require blood to survive. Although they can go in the daylight, they tend to prefer the darkness. They are usually better accepted then the Dhamphirs, but some still consider them a disgrace. Prishtara - Commonly referred to as Dream Walkers, those born of the Prishtara bloodline are called such because of their ability to enter the dreams of others and interfere with the dreams as they see fit, even being able to cause mortal injuries upon the one whose dream they are in. However, a Prishtara must exercise caution when disturbing the dreams of others, for if they are to kill the one that dreams while they are still inside that dream, the Prishtara will die as well (their existence (which was currently inside the dream) suddenly ceased, causing them to simply cease in turn). Hito'radeau - Hito’radeau are a coven of Vampyres that trace their lineage back to medieval France. They are (much to their distaste) commonly referred to as Rotters, due to their ability to devour not blood, but life-force via their hands. This causes the victim’s body to decompose and wither away into dust. Roumari - Roumari are a very charismatic line of Vampyres from Poland. They are descendents of royalty and have developed a peculiar ability causing them to be referred to as ‘Silver Tongues’. Their ability, in essence, is that they are the most stunning in appearance of all Vampyres and they are naturally born with the ability to understand and speak all languages fluently, allowing them to blend in with other species and trade with usually hard to trade with species with ease. However, they are not limited to human dialect, as they also have the ability to communicate with all animals. Stone - The Stone bloodline of Vampyres are a rather recent bloodline, having started in Chicago. Their saliva has developed so that when they bite their victims, their saliva has a drug-like effect on the prey. This allows them to cause their prey to become addicted to their bite to the point that a heavy addict could die a slow, painful death if they are not bitten in time. This has earned them the nickname of ‘Orgasmic Biters’. Argonith – Argonith are the most ancient of Vampyres, being able to trace their lineage back 5000 years to the Middle East. The Argoniths have a special sense, allowing them to identify other supernaturals. Xenyar - Vampyres descendant of the Xenyar bloodline can trace their origins to the Far East (China, specifically) at around 1000 B.C. Their ability is rather unique and very occult-like; being what is called a ‘Chorus of Anguish’. The Xenyar Vampyre that does such a thing focuses on a target and that target suddenly will hear wailing, screaming, crying, and yelling of others of all races emitting from thin air all around them. This is extremely traumatic and usually the victim will become either paralyzed with fear or run hysterically, blindly, allowing the Vampyre to collect them easily as a food source once they have run themselves to exhaustion or into a secluded area. Occuilus - Occuilus Vampyres trace themselves back to Ancient Greece around 930 B.C. Their ability is that of the implanting of memories. This allows them to do many useful things, manipulating politicians into thinking that he has done something horrible that no one but that Vampyre knows about, and can use this to extort things from them. Also, on a feeding level, they can implant memories of friendship into prey and thus convince them to come with the Occuilus Vampyre for old times’ sakes and take them to a dark area and begin feeding. Mortumar - Mortumar Vampyres are a unique breed of Vampyres in that they were created in Italy during the times of Ancient Rome via a pact that a Vampyre (Mortumar) made with the Demons of Rome. In exchange for Mortumar Vampyres’ aid when needed, Mortumar Vampyres can terrify victims with a powerful demonic visage. Essentially, when a target has been selected, that target will see the Mortumar Vampyre dig into the sides of his face and rip his flesh from his skull. As if that would not be traumatizing enough, underneath the face of the Mortumar Vampyre, the victim will see a vision of terrifying Demons and Vampyres doing extremely explicit, vile things to Humans, such as rape, eating their innards, and generally disgusting things. Others that are nearby will simply see the Mortumar Vampyre standing there with his hands by his side and face intact and normal. The victim will either be paralyzed with fear or run to the point of exhaustion (or into a secluded area) for easy collection by the Mortumar-descendant Vampyre. Innate Abilities All Vampyres can take on human servants, as well as infect others. The Dhampir's immunity to silver and wood is known as the 'Blood of the Dhamphir'. The Daywalker's immunity to sunlight is known by the species' name, 'Daywalker'. The Prishtara's dream-walking ability is called 'Dream Manipulation'. Hito’radeau absorb lifeforce, which is known as 'Rotting Touch'. The Roumari's magical ability to commune with any creature is called 'Silver Tongue'. The Stone Vampyre's bite is called an 'Orgasmic Bite'. Argonith vampires can identify supernaturals, as well as know what magical powers they possess with their 'Power Sensing' abilities. The Xenyar have access to a deafening and maddening magic called the 'Chorus of Anguish'. Occuilus Vampyres revel in the mind, and can 'Implant Memory' The Mortumar's terrifying face is called the'Demonic Visage'. The Vampyre and the servant uses up 20 of his/her own points each per mark. Each mark is different based upon which Vampyre created the mark. Also, one can begin as a Human servant of the first tier, but the character's background must be well-made. A mark can only be received once every month for the combined total of 40 points. First Mark - The Vampyre shares his/her "life force" with the Human. This makes the Human immune to their Vampyre's abilities. However, they might still be susceptible to other Vampyres. In addition, it becomes much harder to hurt the Human servant. Second Mark - Two points of flame from the Vampyre come and overtake the Human. They merge into the human's eyes, causing them to glow briefly with color, and then they vanish. After this point, the dreams of the human can be invaded by the Vampyre. Also, the Vampyre can feed off the human from a distance, and can sustain their life energy by using the life energy of the human servant as opposed to drinking blood. The Human will tend to eat much more than normal and the extra energy is siphoned off by the Vampyre and the Vampyre can taste the food that is being eaten. Third Mark - The Vampyre drinks the blood of the human, not to death, but close enough. During this time, the initial bite might hurt, but then the scents and flows of power take over. Depending upon the Vampyre, the scent is different. This mark establishes a more firm link. Direct mind contact can now be opened between the Vampyre and his/her Human servant, allowing telepathic contact. Fourth Mark - The Vampyre opens a blood supply, usually in the chest, and the human servant drinks from it. The human servant is now very difficult to kill and will live as long as the Vampyre lives unless they die of unnatural causes (murder, impaled on fencepost while hurdling, etc). Some Human servants have been known to be several centuries old. The result is the human lives as long as the Vampyre does and possesses his/her strength and stamina, without giving up the daylight. Wounds heal much more quickly and they can withstand greater levels of physical pain. Turning Others Vampyres are considered to be unique among the supernatural because they are the only ones that pass on their qualities through means other than having children. Human servants, as was stated in the previous post, are made through biting a victim, but leaving them unharmed. This is where the myth of being bitten by a Vampyre and becoming one as a result arose. Vampyres "procreate" through a special venom within the Vampyre's fangs that becomes active only when outside temperatures exceed 110 degrees Farenheit. The victim must be bitten twice; once on the scalp and once on the chest. The venom quickly overtakes the brain and ceases all motor functions while the second bite (applied to the chest) stops the heartbeat. The venom that was injected into the brain of the victim then attaches itself to the base of the cerebellum, causing the great physical improvement and memory enhancement. Afterwards, the brain somehow changes in a way that is not well understood by biologists. After the transformation is complete, the newly "born" Vampyre must drink of sentient blood within 24 hours or their new body will fail them and they will die. Any humanoid species can be turned into a vampyre if the conditions are met, forsaking their innate abilities. If one wishes to turn into a Vampyre, please contact Varos Talantos beforehand. Conditions: - Air temperature of over 110 degrees Farenheit - Bite to head, then bite to the chest - Blood of a sentient must be drank within 24 hours of "birth" - Cannot be the blood of the Vampyre that "parented" them |
