Disloyal Order of Water Buffaloes
by Fall Out Boydescription:;
Michael stands at a decent 5ft 11in tall and maintains a lean build. His skin is light, despite his attempts to spend adequate time outdoors. Messy, tousled brown hair hangs around his face, just about to his chin. His eyes are an average brown, but blind and unfocused and usually hidden behind reflective eyewear. His skin retains a slight chill at all times, not clammy or unpleasant, just cool. His stance is causal and loose and he tends to take everything into his long stride. Large hands with callused fingers busily explore his environment or stay tucked into his pockets. Michael is friendly and humorous with a laid back trait in pretty much everything he does. Almost sage solutions and excellent advice slip past his lips.

Michael has a decent sense of style, or his friends do anyway. He tends to gallivant about in second-hand-store Indie ensembles. At home he likes to lounge around in casual clothes in bland, neutral tones. His clothing choice, regardless of style, is always geared toward cold weather and comfort. He does not own a pair of shorts, preferring to wear jeans just about year round. He usually wears a leather jacket or other overcoat when going out, and owns one black and white striped scarf that is almost perpetually around his neck. He wears two rings on his left hand, one silver and the other brass. The brass one has the etching of a wolf in it and the silver one is patterned with abstract swirls and designs. He keeps his feet strapped into low leather boots with buckles, not laces. He will wear aviators most of the time.

Michael is completely blind in both eyes. A childhood accident caused him to lose his sight by the time he was 13-years-old. He carries around a collapsible cane but prefers not to use it if he can avoid it.

Michael Thatcher is above all, a free spirit. He always has been and hopes to always be. His childhood was unremarkable, his ice powers remaining unpronounced beyond a propensity for making excellent snowmen in the wintertime. His parents were pleased with him and never placed too much pressure on him. Michael was a good student and a friendly kid, causing his parents little grief until he hit his teen years. When he was 12, Michael suffered a terrible accident. He and a friend were biking in the city when a car swerved at a turn. Michael, attempting to avoid the oncoming vehicle, veered into a construction site. Riding quickly through the site he frantically avoided shouting workers and heavy machinery. His bike tire caught on an exposed rebar pole however and Michael was flung onto the concrete. He experienced a life threatening concussion and was rushed to the emergency room. It took him a week to be able to walk straight. After his release from the hospital, his sight quickly began to deteriorate. Within a few months of the accident, Michael had gone completely blind. Short of radical brain surgery, there was nothing to be done for his condition.
For a while, Michael slumped around school and his home in a disgruntled state. No one could blame him, he had gone blind in the prime of his life. His parents, friends and teachers consoled him anyway they knew how, but their pity stung Michael worse than his blindness. He set out to prove that he was not useless, he was just blind. He picked up music and fell in love with it. He had his friend mark his clothing so he wouldn’t need his mom to dress him or dress himself in some uncoordinated mess. Slowly, he got used to his condition. Life normalized once again, even as his ice elemental abilities grew. By his late teens, Michael felt the calls of adventure. Of travel and a life outside the circuitous life he had created at home. He set out to “see” the world in the way that only he could.
Michael has been living on his own for a few years now and loves life more than anything. He lets circumstances take him where they will and finds enjoyment in simple things like meeting new people or exploring new territories. He works part time washing dishes at a local restaurant and playing music on the street for extra cash.
