Ancaladar is a runt of a dragon, only 30 feet long including his tail. He has blue scales and a narrow, almost beak-like jaw filled with sharp teeth. Two large fin shaped ears flare out behind his head. A short ridge of webbed spines runs down the length of his neck, ending at his wings. His wings are typical of dragons, leathery and large with clawed hands at the joint. His four short limbs end in claw tipped hands, webbing between the toes. His tail is tipped by a flat flipper to aid in movement in the water.

background:;
Ancaladar was born in the Great Lakes, a much more confined area than water dragons are used to. His family had developed over the years to be smaller than most dragons to make hiding easier in such a small body of water. Ancaladar continued this trend, but was a runt even among them. His small size actually made him even better at staying hidden than the rest of the group. They all lived in the same lakes but in different places, visiting once in a while but not too often.
As he developed into an adult dragon Ancaladar realized he would be growing no larger. However he did come to develop the ability to turn invisible for a limited amount of time, permitting him to spy on humans without much risk. He found them fascinating to watch, their lives seeming so short and filled with change. He could not imagine life as a mortal. On his many trips to spy on humans he learned to hate fishing nets, seagulls and snow. Nets could entangle him, snow would fall on his invisible body and make it visible, and gulls just always seemed to know when he was about, reacting to his presence by diving at him repeatedly. A harpoon hit him once when a human caught a glimpse of him, and he has feared them ever since.
Lately Ancaladar has taken to watching humans inland and not just when they were out on the lakes. It is risky but the dragon has grown bored with the comfort of life in the lakes. It was far too easy to hide and offered little challenge. Not only does he desire challenge but he also honestly wishes to find companions with which to share his long life. Other dragons tend to be reclusive, but he has heard of something called Draconians, humans who can speak to dragons. He hopes that they are real.
