Internet cafés are interesting places that come with three classes of people. The first are the computer inept; the holiday makers from foreign countries, the 60+ who need continual nurturing from the spotty teenager behind the desk. The second type of person was the complete opposite; the computer whiz, here to play online gaming in order to feel connected in some social sort of way. Then there were people like Rae. Rae was here because she was breaking the law. Again.
It was something she was becoming accustomed to doing. She realised that part of her survival was this breaking of the law and that sometimes such a thing was necessary in order to preserve herself and her cause. While she sat at a booth she was not here to log on and surf the binary waves, but instead she was contacting one of her father’s old friends. He had sent her a text message several days ago, with this location, with this time and here she was awaiting his presence.
With a starbucks coffee nestled between her fingers, Rae waited anxiously for the mans arrival. She knew not what to expect, and had come, in this instance, armed. Just in case. Her gun was sitting, warmed, in the back pack that was placed on the floor beside her. Her long, leather, blood red coat, thrown carelessly over the lip of the bag, as if she expected people of society to know her for carrying a gun.
Despite her rainbow coloured hair, the last thing Rae wanted to do was to appear out of place. It was bad enough she had a British accent.

Jamie walked into the cafe with his long black leather coat on so as to hide his wings and gun. and immediately spotted the woman with rainbow hair. Not very inconspicuous, he thought. He walked over to the booth and sat down, extending his hand he said "hello, my name is Jamie and you are?" but before waiting for an answer his eyes rolled over to her bag. "I'm guessing you have something in the bag, if it's something to harm me if I try anything" He said.
He then reached into his belt and took out his pistol and then, making sure no-one was looking he slid it under the table towards the girl "C'mon take it, it won't hurt you" he said looking her in the eye "I could have killed you and been away by now, if I wanted to" he said quietly "But I don't, trust me"

Now she had a bank account things were easier, despite it being registered to London and her old home it gave her a centre in the vast universe- it gave Rae a place to return too, even if she wasn’t sure she could call it home any longer. She clicked, un-interestedly through the horoscopes on the page before her. She believed in such things, in Tarot Cards and fortune telling; in fact, in her bag on the floor beside her she had such a set of cards and often Rae would turn to them for advice. It was a scary thing after all, being alone in the world and Rae was only eighteen.
The man she was waiting for was not the man that came so boldly towards her. He came storming straight for her, like a speeding bullet. It was almost like he expected her to be there. Rae had been so careful not to be followed while she was here in America, it was important that she try her experiments and pass unseen back over the borders and into England to monitor her plan in completion. He practically knocked over her Starbucks mug and Rae hastily shut down her browsing page as he introduced himself.
Maybe this was the man she was waiting for? Perhaps this was the associate of her father? She had expected someone older, had that been naive of her? For a moment she paused, but had not the time to answer before he prattled on. Her eyes, chocolate brown and beautiful, went to her bag and then slowly came back to him. Was he threatening here? Or was this a gun show? Perhaps he was trying to forcefully remind her that she was not better than him and that she should be scared of him.
For Rae’s liking he was talking too loudly and the small, slender girl near flinched when he pressed the pistol into her hand. It was different to hers, heavier for one, it was cool to her touch and she ran her fingers along the barrel. She didn’t like being out in the open here, not with a gun in her hand. Her eyes flitted around the internet café; and she felt a blush rising on her cheeks. It was one of those proven facts the more innocent you tried to seem the more guilty you looked.
Rae wet her lips, slowly. “Maria.” She said, giving him the name she had given when she had first made contact with her fathers ‘friend’. It was a false name, but someone had given it to her a long time ago and she had taken a liking to it; adopting it as her pseudonym.

Pulling up outside of the internet cafe Varis' Charger roared just before he shut off the engine, he had stored his swords and gun in a compartment under his rear seat the continued into his trunk, but had on his duster to hide his wings as he walked in and to the counter. His massive frame was hard to hide so he never bothered, the only time he did and the most he did was his wings. Varis noticed a young woman and who looked as though he was a dangerous from the trench coat and the girl's blush he decided to check as much as he could, he saw a glimmer under the table and figured it was a gun.
"Yea give me a Mocha with a double shot bud." His deep voice resonated through the small cafe as he made sure to keep an ear and eye out on the various people in the building but particularly the couple he passed on his way in, with the gun.

She looked from the man stood at her booth to the man who stomped into the café. It wasn’t that the place was busy and there was a confusion caused with his entrance, it was quite the opposite, the place was quiet and the entrance to the newcomer disturbed the gentle click-clacking of eager fingers on keys. Rae saw the man looking back and for a moment she gave him something of a pleading look. This did not seem like a situation she wanted to be in; she did not want to be threatened by this man with the gun and she did not wish to find herself in a tough situation. Ultimately, if this was her father’s contact then this was far to advance for her experience as a huntress. If this was not her father’s contact then some random guy came up to her and offered her a gun.
“Why don’t you take a seat?” She offered the man standing over her, not linking him standing over her as he was. It was unnecessary for him to be doing that. Kicking the chair near her, so it screeched a little against the tiles she glanced once more around the room, looking to the other computer users and back to the man at the bar. Her eyes followed him as he passed, and held on him as he waited at the bar. He was striking, it was easy to look at him.

Turning his head just in time to see the young girl give him a pleading look he nodded slightly and walked over to her and the man with the gun, making it seem as though he knew the girl. "Oh my god I haven't seen you in months how are you?" He asked as he leaned down to hug her. "I won't leave till you say so." He whispered in her ear hoping his feeling was wrong about the other man. As he stood up he kept his eyes wandering and he cursed himself for leaving all of his weapons behind in his car, he reached behind him and pulled a chair over to himself between the other two as he looked from one to other.

Neither of the men before her were the three types of people previously specified in Rae’s opinion of Internet Cafes. Neither of them appeared to be holiday makers, neither of them appeared to be computer gamers and while she could assume that they both had the capabilities of breaking the law they did not look like they were here to gamble and get away from annoying wives/families. It was a bit of a predicament as to why they were here in the first place.
The newest member of the café answered Rae’s plea for help. It felt strange giving such a plea in the first place; what with her being a hunter of the nocturnal and deadly and all that. But this was a rather interesting and delusional situation she had found herself in. A stranger had come up to her, threatened her and handed her a gun. It was very odd indeed. Now she was being saved by a man with a goatee. As he leant in and hugged her Rae felt herself tense slightly. She was not use to being touched, though she could appreciate the act he was putting on, and found herself quickly responding in kind. “Hi.” She smiled, loud enough to cover his whisper in her ear.
This stranger cared about her. She had no idea why or what made him join them at the booth. Maybe this was finally the hunter she had been waiting for? The companion of her fathers? She smiled again as he sat and reached down to pick up her nap-sack. “Actually, I was just going to Starbucks to get a refill-“She commented, casually, tapping the top of the paper cup. “-Want to join me?” She asked him, logging out of her screen. This had become too uncomfortable to comprehend. It was time to get out of here, preferably with her saviour. “I’ll buy- we can catch up…” She offered, keeping up the pretence.

Varis' eyes drifted around the cafe one last time and rested on the other man before answering the girl. "Ah of course please lead the way." He stood up and lifted his right arm to indicate the way to the exit for the girl and his smile was genuine to the girl. "And good day to you sir." He nodded slightly his smile more pleasantries than anything else. He put his left hand on the small of her back to guide her to try to get her to move a little faster, he really didn't like this guy. He moved towards the door slowly making sure to keep an eye on the girl to make sure the other man didn't do anything.
((Sorry about the gap and if it is shorter but I have a splitting headache that just won't go away lol))

Rae smiled and rose from her seat, copying him as he stood. She picked up her bag and slung the strap over one shoulder. The gun that had been in her hand she placed carefully on the table and left it behind. Then she turned and walked away, following her saviour out of the internet café.
Stepping out onto the street she looked up at him. “Rae.” She said, and offered her hand. “Thanks for that. I was beginning to get rather nervous.”
She wasn’t really going to Starbucks, at least not yet. She still at her paper cup and as she shook it back and forth some of the coffee inside sloshed about. Her eyes went across the road to the green and white sign. “I owe you a coffee…at least, for saving me from that really awkward situation.”

Smiling as they exited the Cafe, the cold night air a brisk awakening, Varis looked back at the man at the table and then at the girl. "Pleasure is mine lassy." His true Irish accent coloring his already thick booming voice as he took the girl's hand in a firm grasp, at least it would feel such a way to her. His eyes wandered around as he shook her hand briefly. "The name is Varis but please call me V." He chuckled as he motioned for her to lead the way. "I got me own coffee for now so we can walk and talk a little more." He chuckled and ran his fingers through his hair hoping she wouldn't notice his horns. She can't see them they curve with my head. He thought to himself then thought himself stupid for it.

Irish...
It made her melt inside.
The Irish accent is known across the world for so many things but most importantly their accent was known for the damn sexiness of their spoken words. It was the way they sound like their serenading you with every syllable that danced seductively from between their lips that made women everywhere fancy the pants off these perfect men. They didn’t even have to attractive to look at, but an Irish man’s voice carried you away to a world of romance.
Perhaps she had been too anxious of the gunpoint to notice before, perhaps she had been too focused on the danger she was surrounded with, but as he spoke now, as he introduced himself she felt a gentle tingle go up her spine. At eighteen, Rae was something of a typical teenage girl and she noticed, even if it was subconsciously, the gorgeous men of the world. She blinked at him, wondering where the accent had suddenly come from and as if she was enchanted by him she flushed as she introduced herself; “Rae.”
It was the first time in a while she had not used her fake name- her works name- it was the first time in a while that she had just given anyone her real name. But Rae smiled, and looked away as he suggested they walk and talk a little more. “Okay.” She responded, wetting her lips with her tongue.
Rae shoved her hands into her pockets and happily walked beside him.

Varis smiled as she re-introduced herself. "Miss Rae you already told me your name." He chuckled and shook his head as she shoved her hands into her pocket and wet her lips, all the while he was speaking his voice must have sounded like it was gold to her from the look on her face when he began speaking outside and his accent took hold. "Anyhow why don't head towards the park?" He asked as motioned in a direction in front of his car. I need to get some kind of protection from my car. He thought to himself still thinking he was stupid for not bringing something with him. He looked around careful to make it seem as though he was just looking for the right path to the park. His ears and eyes peeled for anything out of the ordinary.

”Miss Rae, you have already told me your name.”
She flushed pinker; she hadn’t meant to do that. Had his accent really knocked her for so many sixes? This was not fun; it was not like Rae to lose her head so quickly. Yes, she was a typical teenage girl in so many respects, but there were so many things about Rae that were not typical. She knew how to kill a man.
To clarify, Rae would never actually kill a man, killing another mortal seemed wrong; it seemed perverse in fact. No, Rae was use to killing beings much more complicated and dangerous than your average day man.
Slowly she wet her lips again, it was one of those idiosyncrasies she did when she was nervous.
Her beautiful brown eyes followed the direction in which he pointed and she nodded. Across the road was a small green area, with a little duck pond and a couple of benches. It seemed like a reasonable request, it wasn’t a particularly dank or grey day and while it was cold here, it wasn’t uncomfortable. Still, she drew her thick, leather jacket around her, doing up the jet-black buttons. Rae tucked her dark navy scarf into the lip of her coat and nodded again; “Okay.” She agreed, shyly.

Varis smiled to the young woman and crooked his right arm to the young woman. He began to look at the woman in earnest for the first time, her hair was obviously regularly dyed and she wasn't all that large but she was very attractive, for a human that is. "So why don't you tell me about yourself there lassie?" He didn't bother to drop the accent when we was alone or when he wanted to try and seduce a woman. He wasn't what was different in this woman but for some reason he didn't want to kill her, he hoped she wasn't a hunter he'd have to kill her as soon as she attempted to kill him.

Rae gave him another gentle smile. Of course she was not aware he was a daemon and he was not aware she was a hunter. A dangerous, daemon hunting huntress who had killed a few supernatural beings in her time, actually, thank you very much. Still, Rae wasn’t a blood-thirsty hunter, she didn’t go around killing every supernatural being out there, no, she was rather selective with the lives she took and generally only ever entered into a confrontation with people who were on her hit list- at this point, that consisted of the daemons who had killed her family. Since embarking on this journey, Rae had actually met a few really nice supernatural creatures who she considered putting a little faith in.
She tipped her head to one side as they walked down the pavement, considering his question. She didn’t really know how to answer it; he was a stranger, who had saved her from a gun fight in an internet café…it was a rather bizarre meeting to suggest the least. How did one answer his question with that in mind? “I don’t usually get into such impossible situations…” She started, her words not strictly the truth. “In fact, I’m an artist…” That part was true and from there on out she tried to stick to it; no mention of course of meeting another hunter to be heard, “I’m just trying to make a living here…that guy, I don’t know him- I don’t know what he was trying to imply…or do to me..” she smiled, angelically. “Thanks for helping me.” She said, again.
