Sefarina lay atop a small wooden bench at the edge of the Recreational Park, located somewhere in Ohio, plush lips drawn into a slight smile. Ice blue orbs shifted within their sockets, hidden behind the large dark shades which covered half of her pale face. Sitting up abruptly, she swung her legs over the edge of the bench and leaned back against the back. "So bored," the soft murmur slipped past her lips, drenched in a thick Irish accent. She lifted her face to the sky, sighing softly, as she stared through the thick branches of the trees above. At the sound of a dog barking, she let her chin fall to it's normal height, jerking her face in the direction of the noise. Perfectly plucked brows lifted, as her gaze landed on a large pitbull, standing at the base of a tree and barking ferociously at a small squirrel, balanced on a branch high in the tree. It stared down at the dog, as if mocking him. The animals owner, a small woman, yanked at the leash attached to the spiked collar around it's neck, yelling uselessly at the large dog. Sefarina shook her head, a soft chuckle vibrating in her throat before she stood, turned, and started down the path, whistling softly as she did.

Vrases sat underneath a massive oak tree near the walkway, enjoying the time off that he had from work. he had just finished up a job with his target being a local gang leader and he had been payed fairly well for it. believing that since he had worked for a pretty long time with no breaks, he decided to take the day off; "and why the hell not?" he thought to himself, "might do me some good." he had decided to just relax at the local rec. park and relax there. he sat underneath the tree on a slight hill with his pad of sketch paper, his pencils, and oddly enough... a peregrine falcon in front of him, standing proudly on his foot. Vrases had a very strong connections with these falcons; probably had to be with the fact that both the falcons and his self were wanderers, never really staying in one sport for long enough. it came in handy definitely when he needed to cause a distraction on a job or something of that sort, and he always appreciated the help. this one was in the area so he called it over to just relax and sketch it with the lake in the background, "and the falcon was calm enough to just relax and be drawn, so that was nice too.", he thought to himself, and scratched it behind his head, feeling the falcon watching him approvingly.
listening to some whitechappel on his iPod, he sat there with one earphone in and one out so he could hear if someone approached; his heightened hearing allowed him to do both and still hear minuscule sounds, thankfully. as he sat there relaxing, a dog came over and tried to jump his newly found friend. turning his head sharply at the dog and making sure that the women had her head turned, he felt his teeth grow longer and more feral and growled at the creature who had threatened the falcon, feeling his eyes turn into slits of yellow as well, watching as the dog whimpered and ran off with its tail between its legs. glaring at the creature as it backed off, he went back to his work, enjoying the music and the sereneness of the outdoors. it was much different from the clubs and music festivals and concerts, but it was nice all the same to him.
pulling out a flask, he took a swig of the strong jack Daniels inside and felt it course through him, smiling slightly. adjusting his tuke slightly out of habit, he pulled out a piece of paper from his pocket and a little bit of weed that he still had from his condo not far away. smiling and humming a tune to himself, he finished wrapping it and lite it up, letting it rest on his lips as he continued to sketch the falcon with the lake in the background. he secretly really liked to draw, always had; even in the foster homes he had liked to. "this one looked like it would turn out well at least" he thought as he took a drag of his joint, and looked around the park, and something bright caught his eye; a girl was walking around with bright green hair. "huh, wouldn't expect someone like that out here...shes cute. wonder whats she doing here though...odd." giggling slightly from his start up, he watched the girl for a bit and decided to go back to drawing, glancing at the girl occasionally.

Her chin lifted, blue orbs darting to a fro, as she felt the odd sense that someone was watching her. Her gaze landed on a young man with a joint hanging from his lips and a bird on his foot. It was a peculiar sight. She watched the dog wearily as it and it's owner walked past her. God, she hated dogs. They scared the crap out of her. As the animal moved away from her, she visibly relaxed, shoulders sagging slightly. She then turned her eyes upon the boy again, just in time to see him glance up from his sketch pad. She swept her gaze over him, landing on the joint and staying there for a moment before moving to his eyes. Pearly whites caught at a plush lower lip, eyes flashing before she turned away from him, settling on another wooden bench beside the path, facing away form him. A small red fox kit moved out of the treeline and hopped up onto the bench beside her, yiffing softly. A smile tugged at the corner of her mouth as she pet the small animals soft fur, murming softly to it.

as Vrases glanced up one last time up at the girl, she caught him glancing at her when he was sketching. smirking somewhat at her, he went back to drawing and adding some finishing touches to his drawing. taking another quick hit, he looked up again to notice the girl was sitting at a bench were a fox was known to hang out. putting the joint into his tuke and his flask away into his small backpack, he got up and stretched. the falcon hopped off his foot and stood on the ground, looking up at him expectantly, quietly thinking "were too know?" nodding his head over to one direction, he watched as the creature flew up to his shoulder and perched himself there, content to relax and maybe get food from the were.
keeping his pad in his hands, he walked over to girl and her newly acquired companion. walking up behind to the other side of the bench, he spoke " hes been here for years, staying underneath that spot under the bench." pulling out a small bag he kept in his pack, he fed a piece of meat to the fox, who happily began to eat it. he handed one over to his falcon as well, and the falcon grabbed it with his beak and began to tear into it with beak and claws. handing the bag to the girl, he continued "here, you try. he even will eat it out of your hand if you try it." smiling at the girl, he let his eyes wander for a second over the girl and her appearance, including the boots and the small knife he noted quickly. smirking quietly to himself at the girl, he spoke once more "sorry, were are my manners? my name is Vrases, its a pleasure to meet you...if you don't mind me asking, i don't really see people with the sort of clothes like you out here very often..what brings you out to the rec park?" he asked inquisitively to the girl, maintaing eye contact with the girl simply out of habit, noting her bright blue eyes; people tended to be more at ease with people if they could maintain eye contact, as he had found with many others, and he was actually very curious about this girl. she smelled...not exactly human either; she smelled like magic and the earth. he couldn't really put his finger on it, but he knew that she wasn't human or a were; now his curiosity was getting the best of him.

The sound of the mans voice made her jump just about three feet off of the bench, perfect brows lifting as she jerked her gaze to his face. Anger flashed behind her eyes, and she scooted down the bench a tad bit, out of instinct. A slight smile tugged at the corner of her mouth as he fed the animals, before she realized it. She blinked, tilting her head at a slight angle. Taking the bag from his hands, she set it in her lap and dug into it for a piece of meat. She cleared her throat, before slipping her hand out of the bag, meat in her hand, and placing it in front of the kit. "Two things," she murmured softly, her gaze returning to his, one brow raised. "One, my name is Sefarina. And it's nice to meet you, I guess. And two, " she tilted her head a tad bit more. "Why is it that you carry around a bag of meat?" Remembering that he had asked her a question, and not trying her hardest to be rude, she blinked and spoke again. "Oh, and, I came here to relax. What's it to you?" She hissed the last sentence out before she knew what she was saying.

smiling softly, he said "im sorry, i didn't mean to startle you... well, i actually volunteer sometimes at the local zoo for feeding the animals, and i also have this guy here" he indicated to his falcon on his shoulder as it happily ripped apart on the meat he had given him, " to take care of. in order to try and keep him happy, i usually carry around this bag to give him treats, and he seems to like it." he finished up his sentence, and stroked the falcons proud plumage as he did so. listening to her snip at him, he smiled happily. " i was simply curious; cant really help it sometimes. if i get curious about something i tend to want to find out the answer. call it a quirk of mine, really. everyone has their own; mine just happens to be curiosity." smiling warmly at her, he raised his hand in mock surrender as he did so at her question and tone. "haha, sorry, it was rude of me to simply assume that i could ask you that. here, i have an idea." he said, quickly reaching into his bag, and pulled out a a pair of zebra cakes, like one of the ones he used to steal from the local market back in germany. "here" he said, handing it to sefarina," think of it as a peace offering for rudeness. he said laughing a little bit and looking at the girl in interest. hey, who didn't like sweets? as he gave one to her, he opened his own and gave part of it to his falcon and he stood there with a smile as he ate part of the cake and watched the girl for a response.

She listened quietly to him talk, mouth twisting into a frown. She pat the small kits head as it tore into the meat as she waited for the man to finish. She lifted her gaze to him at the sound of the words "peace offering." Selfish as it may be, she loved when people gave her things. At the sight of the small cakes, her eyes widened, mouth dropping open into an 'o'. She almost drooled at the sight, and quickly snatched the cakes from his hand. It may seem rude of her, but she couldn't quite help it. Cakes, candy, anything sweet. She just couldn't handle the sweetness. It made her go crazy. She tore the package open and slipped one of the cakes out, taking an unnaturally large bite of the sweet. After the first one was gone, she glanced apologetically up at the man again. "Uhm, thanks bunches," she murmured, pressing her lips together awkwardly. She wished she wasn't so obsessed. She probably looked like an animal scarfing down the cake. Blood rushed to her face, turning her once pale flesh bright red.

laughing jovially, he replied "its no problem actually. im glad you like them so much, really." smiling at the sight of her devouring them and her blushing a lot, he shook his head and smiled at the girl. "here, i have some more stuff in here actually....one second...aha! here." since he knew he would come out to the park and smoke a little, he had prepared a wide array of food for the munchies, with many of them sweet food in his bag. "i have more zebra cakes, some doughnut holes, and a box of honey buns...youre more them welcome to them, take your pick...does this make up for an odd start?" he smiled and laughed quietly as he put them on the bench and sat down on the other end and handed them over to her. he watched and smiled a bit at her expression of delight at the sweets offered. he couldn't help shake the feeling though of what she was...his curiosity was still not sated. " if you don't mind me asking, you seem to have an accent. are you from Ireland? i have a friend that has a similar accent to you." he asked, smiling warmly at the girl as he fed another piece of meat to his falcon, and quickly looked at his sketchpad and made a quick adjustment to it simply because his mind had come up with an idea for it when he was talking to the girl. quickly he made the adjustment and put it back down quickly, making sure that it seemed inconspicuous when he made the change to the drawing. after he did it, he glanced back at the girl and laughed as he decided to take one of the doughnut holes and eat it quietly but contentedly.

Her eyes widened as she stared at the array of sweets on the bench. She pressed her lips together, literally shaking with the effort it took for her not to snatch all of the sweets and run and hide with them. She snorted when he mentioned a "pick". She would take all of them if she had the chance. She shook her head and slipped her hands between her thighs, holding them prisoner there. "That's very nice of you, but no thanks." She nibbled at her lower lip, brows drawn together. She smiled weakly at him, shoulders rigged. She nodded when he spoke again, shaking long green tresses out and flipping them over her right shoulder. "Yepp. I was born in Ireland. I love it. So beautiful." And it was. One of the most beautiful cities she had ever been in. She smiled at the thought of the beautiful landscape.

smiling, he asked " you can have them all if you want actually. im just being nice. if not ill eat them. oh nice! ive been to Edinburgh a few times, its amazing during the summer." he smiled mischievously at her, and laughed a little. at least he was getting somewhere;l she smiled meekly, showing that at least she seemed somewhat entertained by his shenanigans. smiling, he suddenly felt his demeanor change instantly...something wasn't right. sniffing the air, he felt his instincts go into overdrive and looked around. he smelled them.... hunters.
looking past the woman, he spotted them; five humans, walking quietly towards the girl with what smelled like a kind of metal... but that couldnt be. this girl was out in the sun; if she wasn't a vampire what was she? going through his mind, he could recall that a type of fae was allergic to iron...could that be what it was?looking at the girl, he went deadly serious. if it wasn't this girl who still had his curiosity, then he would be somewhat indifferent, but he hated hunters, and she still did make him curious. whispering into the ear of the falcon, the falcon flew up to do his job. turning to the girl he talked quickly, "listen, we need to go. now. i know you're...not human. i would probably guess something like a fae or something. look, those people coming over are hunters; they're after people like you....and me. if we don't get out of here, i will have to take them out here and now. i know this is a lot to ask of you, but you need to trust me; those people mean to hurt..no, kill you for what you might be. there's a local spot near the subway not half a mile away. a friend of mine owns it; you'll be safe there. i know its a lot to ask; i sure as hell would be really wary. but ive done this before, and im going to do it again in the future; that's just the way we have to live. so im asking...please trust me to get you out of here...alive." looking deadly serious, he watched the girl, and glanced up at the falcon; he was circling around the five of them, and watched as they advanced upon the two of them. "so...what do you say? get away and live?...or not, and stay here." shaking his head at the circumstances, he truly wished that she would come; he didnt like the idea of a woman dying in front of him. call it a pet peeve of his; he'd been around a lot of death, and caused lots of it; but he never really did like it when a woman died. watching her expectantly, he hoped against hope that she would come along.

Sefarina blinked, gaze snapping to the five humans advancing on them. A soft growl vibrated in her throat as she turned back to the man, anger flashing in her eyes. She nodded subtly and curled her fingers, ready to turn the bench they sat on into a weapon at any time. She swept the sweets off the bench and into the large bag that hung off her shoulder. She raised an eyebrow to him then, gathering the small fox kit into her arms and slipping him gently into the bag. For safe keeping. Of course, she kept it unzipped a fraction, so he could breath and slip his head out if he wanted to. "If you get me killed, I'm coming back to haunt you," she growled, raising a brow. She wasn't as worried for her life as she was for her sister. She would be devastated if anything happened to her.

glancing at her as she gently grabbed the fox, he gave her an odd look, but decided against it, breathing a sigh of relief as she got up, he glanced up at the falcon, and nodded. suddenly, the falcon swooped down as fast as it could, nearly 200 miles per hour, and began to viciously attack the hunters. the falcon was in no danger; he had done this before. "ok, now! lets go!" grabbing her arm, he ran through the brush and past the trees, breaking out into an open space. looking around quickly, he spotted what he was searching for; a station for a local subway. "this way!" he said, running quickly to the station. pushing through the people, he made sure that she was still close by and not too far. "come on come come on!" he said, mentally urging the subway to get here quickly. thinking quickly, he pulled out a large sweatshirt and handed it to her, whispering urgently "put this on, they might notice you're hair; pull the hood over it and stay close." bringing her to the back of the seats, he showed her where to sit, watching the entrances, and waiting to see if any of them showed; if so, he would kill them, plain and simple.
letting out a sigh of relief as the doors closed, he looked up for a moment and walked over to the seat next to her. sighing, he spoke " ok, they're gone....you alright? sorry for the urgency, i just...really did not want something to happen back there...sorry." he said, taking his tuke off and rubbing his hand through his hair, and putting it back on, adjusting out of habit. glancing over at the girl, he watched in wariness as whether or not she was incredibly pissed at him, or not; he just had to wait and see.
"we'll be at the stop in a couple of minutes, then we can go over to the spot; youll be safe from the hunters for a while, enough time to figure out what you can do... do you have anyone you know that you trust to know you...who you really are?" he asked in piqued curiosity.

Sefarina followed quietly, stealthily behind him, glancing back only once to see the falcon ripping at the flesh of the humans. She grimaced and turned away from the gruesome sight. She blinked when he just about shoved the hoodie into her face and snatched it from his grip, growling softly. She yanked it up and over her head, slipping the mass of green tresses into the hood. She slipped through the mass of people and into the subway, settling into her designated seat. When the doors closed and the man returned to her, she raised a brow. At his words, a blush stole up her neck and across her cheeks. She burrowed deeper into the hood, hiding her face behind the thick cloth. "It's fine," she hissed. The head of the small kit popped out of her bag, and stared up at her. She pet his head soothingly, smiling softly at the creature. He was scared. She knew that. The soft fur told her his story, let her know about him watching his mother and sister die a few days ago, killing by a hunter. She was gonna keep him, raise him as her own. Her pet. She turned her attention to the man again, pressing her lips together. Did she want to tell him of her sister? Could she trust him? Well, he did save her life. She tilted her head and let out a soft sigh. "My sister, Nixie, is probably worried. She's the only person I trust in the world."

glancing around at the people and watching them warily in case of a surprise attack; but that was just his nature to be ready for another attack, its just the way he was raised. sighing in relief, he didnt really think that she was mad with him; at least that was some relief. looking around, he glanced at her for a bit as she pulled the hoodie over her head more; mayhaps from the adrenaline rush..or something else. all he knew was now was not the time for him to be thinking about that. noticing the little fox, he looked from him to her and back, and asked "are you planning to keep him?" odd sort of thing for a fae to do, but hey, he was a were helping someone besides himself, that was pretty weird to. looking up at the stops, he muttered to her, "ok, this is the stop. follow me, stay close, and keep your eyes open for hunters. stick close, i don't want them to come out and find you. its not too far from here. once you're there, you can contact your sister and talk to her and see what you want to do...but right now, lets just make sure you get there safely, alright? ok, lets go." standing up, he waited for her to stand up, and he walked out the door, making sure she was close by. "this way" walking somewhat hurriedly through the crowds, he was able to use his large stature to push through the crowds and make a path for sefarina to walk through.
after about ten minutes, they came upon the spot; a hotel with a bar underneath it styled after Irish pubs. turning to her, he spoke "ok, were here. follow my lead, were almost done" smiling reassuringly to her, they walked into the tavern and walked over to the barkeep. "alex, hey man, i need my flat key back, im home from my trip. you cleaned up right?" after the conversation, he picked his way back to sefarina and spoke to her "ok, just had to talk business; i own the majority of this hotel and he had my keys, i was out on business and he needed to borrow my flat. we can go up, sit for a second, and get in touch with your sister to find out what to do. here" he continued, handing her his phone " its my phone, you can use it to call your sister as we head up. once were there, you can plan what you want to do. does that sound alright to you?" handing her the phone unlocked to her, he sat with the flat keys in his hand, jingling them as he waited for an answer, pursing his lips and shrugging slightly at the situation.

Sefarina raised a brow, glancing up at him. "Yes. He has nowhere else to go..." It wasn't very Fae-like of her, but she loved animals too much to let one be alone. And besides, it was only a kit. She smiled at the small creature. "I'm gonna name him Swiper," she said softly, smiling fondly at the memory of her favorite T.V show when she was a child. She used to sneak into the neighborhoods and watch it through windows of human houses. She stood when he stood, following him out of the subway and burrowing deeper into the hoodie, blue orbs shifting here and there warily. When they reached the pub, she smiled. It felt like she was home again. She slipped through the door after him and let the hood fall off of her head. People would just think she had dyed her hair, like young girls tend to do nowadays. She nodded at his question, moving past him and glancing around the pub. "Lead the way."
