It probably wasn't the smartest thing Eli had ever done.
Kale was tied to the fence a few feet away, tugging at the end of his leash and sniffing curiously, his tail wagging obliviously. Meanwhile, Eli was trying not to get his hands carved open any more as he tried to extricate a hawk's mangled wing from the chain link fence. The fence was old, the beam along the top not even connected anymore, and obviously the hawk had tried to land on it and instead slipped past and got his wing caught in the twisted metal.
"Hold still, hold still," he said as the hawk screeched and flapped its free wing. He wasn't sure why he was talking to it- sure, at the clinic some dogs and cats calmed down when they were spoken to, but not a wild animal.
The hawk had already gotten a good slice in on him, cutting a gash along the palm of his left hand, but he would worry about that later. Right now, he just learned from the mistake, trying to work around talons and beak to bend the metal and get the bird's wing free. There was a good chance it was injured from struggling on the fence. He'd have to take it back to the clinic. They didn't see many birds, and even then they were usually very tame parrots, but surely they could throw something together. Or find a wildlife rehabilitation clinic.
"If I get any kind of weird bird disease from you, I swear..." he muttered, trailing off as another flight feather pulled free. He'd been trying to keep from getting his own blood all over the place, and trying to ignore the throbbing pain through his hand, too. A few more minutes and he might have it, if the hawk didn't completely freak out, and then he could do something about his hand. But the hawk seemed tired, thankfully, its struggles lessening as time went on and its feathers fluffed up in what was probably the only defensive display it had left in its arsenal. Kale certainly didn't get the memo, pulling against the leash on his three legs, probably wanting to chomp down on the hawk to see if it squeaked.
The other bird sat in a tree, watching as the human male attempted to help the frightened injured bird that in self defense injured the male fairly bad upon his hand. The male was trying to help, but in reality he was doing more damage then good as he accidentally pulled feathers from the struggling creature. Having seen enough, the eagle leap from the tree and glided through the woods towards the two struggling beings. Beneath a tree the eagle slipped through the shadows ink to vanish completely. Instead what appeared from the shadows was a human male, clad in a sleeveless black leather vest. His legs where clad in black military cargo pants and his bare feet moved across the carpet of grass, moss, and fallen leaves soundlessly. Dirty blonde hair swung about his shoulders as piercing eyes of solid with out white or pupil gazed upon the two. Each hand was wrapped on a gauntlet up to his forearms, the metal fingers upon it talon like and dangerously sharp looking and a red sash was tied about his waist.
He strode up to the male and called out to him. "Stop, you are hurting it." Coming broadside to him he place a hand out and upon the injured fowl, calming it with his simple touch as the bird knew who this male was just as every animal knew their true master. He looked at the male and nodded. "They sense fear, pain, and anxiety. You must be calm, patient, understanding, and always loving. You may finish extricating her now." While speaking he has mentally warped the wires, making it easier for the male to simply remove the avian's wing.
Stepping away he removed his hand from the aerial hunter and watched as the human male finish what he had started the male nodded. He reached down and tore a small strip of his red sash from his waist. Reaching out he wrapped it about the male's hand and nodded. "You have done well young man. Just remember what I have told you."

Eli jumped in surprise when a rather authoratative voice came out of nowhere, and when he turned he expected to see a cop, or someone with the wildlife service (which would have been great), but no. It was a tall, rather imposing looking guy in leather and cargo pants, which, come on...that was a little much even for LA.
He was about to ask who the hell the guy was, but then the guy was reaching out for the hawk, and the hawk just...relaxed. Like he'd been sedated. Eli gaped for a moment before he caught the last of the man's words, and he stepped forward to take his chance. He bent the wire back (and wasn't that wire a whole lot tougher when he last tried?), easily tugging the hawk's wing free.
The hawk didn't stick around. It flopped to the ground, fluffed up, and then shoved into flight with a strong push of it's wings. Eli sighed with relief, jumped when he felt the stranger grab his injured hand. He winced as the cloth pulled tight over the cut, looking up at the man with equal measures of suspicion and curiousity.
"Thanks, I...who are you?" he blurted out, and he could've kicked himself for that one. Really? Someone helps you out and your first question is 'who are you'? Granted, the guy was definitely weird, and definitely not from around here. And he seemed to have a magic touch with birds.
Ca'guuror smirked softly at the male, his solid golden hues flashing with mirth as the male questioned who he was. His smirk revealed his sharp top and bottom canines that glinted in the light. "Who am I? Well now, that's a question I have not had to answer in a long time. Hmmm.... I am known as Ca'guuror DelaSangre. What about yourself?"
He crossed his arms over his chest, metal gauntlets clinking and taloned fingers gripping his biceps. He was interested in the male before him, one who had allowed personal injury to rescue one simple bird. Most would have would past, barely even caring much less stopping to actual attempt to free the animal. It was impressive upon the god of nature, even for a human. As be waited for the answer he twitched his fingers slightly upon his biceps and the metal fence behind male silently disappeared, collapsing upon the ground as metallic dust that slipped beneath the dirt to mingle back with the earth. Man did not own the land and had no right to place artificial boundaries upon it for their own benefits and amusement. Especially ones that hurt innocent animal attempting to simply live their lives out in ever shrinking habitats around the world.
