The soft pad of rubber shoes trotting along seemed to be the only noise for miles in these fields. A shadow of a man flew by the gently swaying corn stalks. The boy breezed through the small path with expert ease, leaving hardly a trail of dust in his wake.
His foot caught a loose rock, and he tumbled forward. Instinctively, his body changed; the world blurred, and his frame looked something less than human, and for an instant, it would appear as if a tail had grown from his lower back. His body spun in the air, rotating around itself, his legs kicking out from behind and under him. The world shimmered around him, and his body returned to normal just before he landed on the ground, facing at a perfect ninety degree angle from where he had just been running, looking down a tiny path in the corn.
He looked both ways before bounding off like a sprinter, going from all fours on the ground to just his legs again. He flew through the field, hardly even touching the ground. He passed like a ghost, leaving hardly a trace of himself behind.
After a few minutes of following the path he slid to a stop in a small clearing in the field. It was about ten feet across in both directions and had a small indention in the ground he had dug out. A small campfire burned quietly, crackling on the single log he left for it to eat.
He kicked some more wood onto the fire, not for warmth, but just so he'd have something to watch.
The fire ate it greedily, spreading it's flaming tongue from the solitary log to the other two he kicked in as the boy sat down.
In the dancing light of the fire his face for just a minute seemed awfully...unusual. It looked like a cross between a dog and a man, the snout fading away in seconds as his breathing returned to normal. He took a large deep breath and shook his head, the last vestiges of canine vanishing from his face. His chest heaved, and relaxed very quickly. Near him, a small backpack sat, dirty and torn in places, but lovingly attended to with patches and stitches of questionable handiwork.
He sighed as the moon overhead began to reach it's apex. He pulled his knees towards his chest and put his chin on them as he gazed at the fire quietly.
He said nothing. Nor did he move. He just sat there, quietly, staring at the fire. A look of...deep sorrow and loneliness clouding his eyes.
The God of Nature stood I Shangri-la. He sensed something, something f unusual and he smiled, revealing his sharp upper and bottom canines. Leaving his home with in the sanctuary of the gods he walked to a place he had seldom come to. He stood beside the Pool of Visions, staring upon the glassy water. Extending his right hand he dipped the index finger in to the pool. The razor claw of the metallic gauntlet set that covered both his hands and wrists glinted in the light slightly as a single ripple slowly expanded from the point of contact. As the water disturbed then flattened again the view changed from the reflection of the sky to a boy sitting in a clearing, clutching his legs to his chest and his chin upon the tops of his knees. A small fire crackled before him. Ca'guuror tilted his head, looking at the scene, before standing up. He waved his clawed hand over the Pool banishing the scene. Then he simply disappeared from Shangri-la. ---------------------------------------------------
The five foot nine inch tall male with dirty blonde hair that hung to shoulders appeared in the clearing. Nothing spoke of his appearance, no wind or footsteps. The male simply appeared, sitting beside the fire, warmed his razor clawed fingers over the fire. "A magnificent night, at least for the moment, isn't it?" He looked up at the male with his golden orbs that lacked whites and pupils that glinted in the moonlight.
"You look alone child. What, pray tell, is it you seek that you do not find? Companionship? Friendship? A family?" He passed his and through the fire, the fire heating the very tips of the claws to a soft red that vanished almost as soon as they left the fire behind.

He had no idea why in the world he was on the edge of a corn field in the middle of nowhere. Well, other than the fact he was being paid for it. Though what he was being paid wasn't near enough to waste his talents to investigate some "Animal Boy" that this backwater farmer hired me to catch. Not even to kill, which would be easy to do, but to capture. So this guy can have the glory of saying he caught it. Honestly Vagus didn't care, he had work to do. As always, he would pray beforehand so that he may be successful. "Anpu Thutmose, guide my hand so that my work, that is connected so close to your own, may be successful, and that I bestow upon you the souls of the living I have taken so that you may guard them in the life after death. Amen" Nevermore cawed in agreement as Vagus summoned an Andean Condor from the shadows of world around them. He climbed on and took to the skies. Although he had to fly low, and not for very long because it was, after all, a bird. He swept back and forth with the thermal scope from L96A1 before he caught two hits and fire down below. He had his condor descend silently from the sky about 100 from the fire. He snuck, even more silently towards the fire. Vagus stopped just before the edge of the corn. Watching the two. discerning which might be his target.
The boy’s eyes took a moment to adjust to the slight change in lightning. He was so lost in his world that until the man had spoken to him, he had not even been aware of his presence. Brought now to reality, fear gripped his heart with icy tendril like fingers.
Where did this man come from? Why is he here? ARE THOSE FUCKING CLAWS?! HE JUST PUT HIS HAND IN THE FIRE!
Thoughts raced through his head at breakneck speed as adrenaline began to pump through his veins.
The corn in the immediate area stopped swaying in the wind, passively being held by his own, as of yet, latent ability to work with it. The field itself seemed gripped with his fear. It was palpable.
His heart raced. His eyes dilated and went wide with shock. He was not even aware of the change, as often was the case. He swallowed hard, trying to settle the unease in his stomach. His muscles tensed and in a flash he was on his feet, running back into the field.
Or….trying to. He got a few steps away from where he was before his ankle caught something and twisted around, causing severe pain to shoot up his leg. He fell forward, having tripped on his backpack, and face planted in the dirt. He looked up quickly at the corn that was perfectly rigid…and yet…slightly different. The pupils in his unusual eyes dilated and took in the shadowed figure of another person who was lurking just beyond.
The corn now shook erratically, almost as if they too were experiencing the fear he was. He rolled away, grabbing his pack with him and pulling from it a small, well worn hunter’s knife that one could buy at any store country wide. One of those knives that are mass produced for the people who like to think they are fun to have, and the occasional hunter who actually used them.
He spun to his feet and held the knife in front of him in a pathetic attempt at self defense. He hobbled slightly backwards, praying no one was in the corn behind him, and put his back to the “wall” of safety. The corn wavered and almost bent away from him, as if ready to give him passage. Yet this, he was utterly unaware of. He only knew a few things.
He had been found by not just one, but two people who managed to sneak up on him. (Granted, one did reveal himself, while the other chose to stay hidden) The one who had shown himself had a very imposing feel to him. His ankle was sprained and his running would be severely impaired.
He waved the knife from the man in the corn to the one sitting by the fire.
“Wha-what do you want? I haven’t hurt anyone-“
His voice cracked as he spat out the lie. He had…but not intentionally. It was a serious pang of guilt he felt about that day…But people always seemed to chase him out, claiming he had done things he never would do.
The adrenaline did not subside, or even stop its insane production, filling his veins with ever more of the hormone. He was unaware of it at the moment, but while he was able to manipulate his form and shape actively, so too, was his body not subject to the exact same rules as a normal person. He had unintentionally triggered a response that would continue to flood his body with adrenaline until he actively calmed down, or went into cardiac arrest.
His lip quivered and his eyes darted from one to the other, his breathing picking up with each breath. Not growing any more shallow, but faster and faster. His body was compensating for a response in which he usually fled very far and very quickly, but now he was unable to do so, and the physical change was still happening. Excess of a lot of things were building very quickly in the runner.
His fear was almost endearing. Like a wolf pup that was backed into a corner, now trying to bear teeth that had hardly grown. Any person with half a brain could see the knife was fairly dull, and he held it awkwardly and without training.
His muscles tightened as he fully felt now, the presence of one of the two. It was not frightening, per say, as it was simply awe inspiring. Like how one feels when in the presence of their idol. It made him feel not only incredibly small, but utterly helpless. He assumed, and hoped, it was the man who had tried to start conversation with him.
This entire silly little scene happened in mere seconds. The kid was clumsy, very, almost comically clumsy, but he was undeniably fast.
“What? I uh-“
His voice was still shaking as his body kept pumping him full of chemicals that force a body into the survival mode. Usually, it detracted from mental ability.
“I just….I don’t know.”
He tried to answer the man’s question. What had been asked? Did he introduce himself? Had they been sitting there for a while before he came to?
Oh no…
The thought of blacking out occurred to him. It wouldn’t be the first time. Not remembering days on end, waking up in strange places….or sometimes, in a safe place with strange people. It was not uncommon, especially when he tried to disguise himself as other people.
Did I make this people mad before?...shit…shit…shit….
He reached one hand into his pocket carefully pulled out a small handful of what looked to be dirt.
Which was true, it was dirt. But, there were seeds within it. Dozens of small seeds of a plant he absolutely adored.
He slashed at the air with the hand, sending the dirt and seeds flying out in a wave in front of him. They landed in a fairly neat pattern. He took a breath quickly and exhaled. There was a soft surge of energy from his body into the ground, and within seconds massive, thorny, blood red roses shot up in a wall between him and the other two men.
They stood about shoulder height, and while they were individually planted and rooted, their branches wove together as they grew at their super speed rate, creating a sort of makeshift barrier. It was artistic, almost in it's delicate nature. One might see similar things in large estates of wealthy humans. It was never enough to stop people. But the act usually served as a barrier to delay. The seeds that had landed in the fire did not grow, leaving a small gap between him and the men.
He took a step back and tried to turn to run, only to have his ankle fiercely resist and send him toppling to the ground. Lifting the injured leg, he did his best to “crawl” into the corn. He was easily seen, if not heard through even the wall of thorns and red roses.
He was moving slowly enough that a person walking at a casual pace could catch him. But fear was too tight in his mind now. He had to get away. Besides, using that little “trick” he had learned about made him feeling extremely[/i] light headed. It was as if the energy it would take to grow those things came directly from his body. It never failed to make him worn out.
“Fuck……gotta…..go….”
He whispered to himself as he continued his laughably silly crawl. And, truthfully, to anyone but him, this entire scene would be more of a slap-stick act of total absurdity than an actual panic induced attempt at fleeing. [/color]
Caguuror watched as the youngling began to panic, then he went from panic to absolute hysteria. He even attempted to run away. Sighing the god of nature stood and extended his hand as if grabbing thin air. The snipe rifle with in the male who was hidden with in the shadows leap from his hands and flew across the clearing, flipping over and landing with in the male's grasp. He turned the rifle over slowly, looking it over. "I don't know who you are, however point a rifle at me isn't the smartest thing you have ever done. Now come out and I won't kill you." He held the rifle in both his hands then brought it down over his knee shattering the weapon in to twenty or so pieces.
He watched with interest as the wall of flowers grew almost instantly and he nodded in approval. Walking to the wall and stroked a finger along the wall slowly. The plants parted before himself and he walked through them until he stood before the little male. "Stand young one. I am not here to harm you or punish you for past sins. I am here to simply speak with you. I enjoyed your little defensive maneuver. Very clever, using the rose bushes as a shield between yourself and your enemies. Very clever indeed. Worthy of recognition by the god of nature himself. So you are receiving my recognition."
He looked back at the other male in the shadows, narrowing his eyes. "You however sir, threatened myself and this boy. Now you will answer me why or I will have it so you are plagued by all manner of stinging, biting insects that will hunt you where ever you go." He raised a golden at the male of shadows, crossing his arms his metallic razor blades fingers gripping his biceps.
"God Damn it man! It was only tranqs in that rifle!" Vagus yelled, Nevermore on his shoulder. " I"m only here because I'm paid to be. Everyone has got to eat ya know?". He dropped his other weapons knowing that what ever this older man was, it was not mortal. "But even mercs have standards. I wouldn't take out a kid. I'm not THAT heartless." He said defensively. " Hell, i would even help the kid if he would let me. Money, a house, maybe even an apprenticeship. Just not this, no one, especially not children." He sounded sad as if on the verge or tears. Nevermore flew over to the boy and landed at his feet. He dropped a sunflower seed cawed sadly and flew back to Vagus's shoulder. "I would never hurt you. Not a child, never" He sounded hysterical as if recalling some traumatic experience from childhood. "You let me leave, and if the boy doesn't want my help, I can leave." Nevermore pulled down Vagus's hood showing his eyes. Both a depression and longing to help showing in his almost blood red eyes.

The words reached him like a tidal wave. He froze in place.
A...god?
He knew of the major religions, he even knew of some pagan religions and the old forest god or something. But never had he heard of anything like this.
His body was frozen, mid step as a voice reached into his head.
Stand and fight!
His eyes darted back to the bird dropping something at his foot. He gulped.
Against a guy who can shatter a gun on his knee? Are you fucking crazy?!
The answer he got was something to be expected
Considering you are talking to yourself...yes. Yes we are.[/i]
Felix tensed and his body began to move without him willing it, another subconcious failsafe he developed. Though...he knew it wouldn't work.
His body twisted up on his hands, into a sort of hand stand before he spun around, and slammed his feet down, now all limbs on the ground. His back began to change shape, and very thick fur began to pierce his skin. His muscles swelled and his features changed.
He tried to stop it, but it was too late. When fear reached this level, when his adrenaline got too high for him to be able to humanly handle, he became...not human.
In seconds his clothing was ripped to pieces, his shoes exploding under pressure of the new form that took his place.
A surprisingly sleek, snarling, and very large brown bear stood before them. He had seen this creature only once in his life, and a few hunters claimed to have as well, one even having taken photos of what he called a "super bear."
Nothing more than a bear that mutated ever so slightly so it grew much larger than either parent. Standing nearly seven foot at the shoulder, this thing was massive. In the picture, the bear had been shot multiple times (according to the story) in the head, and kept charging, until falling on the ground, too injured to move. The hunter had snapped a picture of him, crouched next to the bear's body, which still managed to stand just as tall as him. (Slumped bear=crouched man size, essentially)
In his own experience, while running, as he did, he had flown through some forest he did not recall, and come across the lumbering creature. He stopped to marvel at the gentle giant. It did not do much more than sniff in his directio and meander away.
But here now stood such a creature, formed through fear and too much adrenaline. The toughtest of beasts, strongest of them too. (So far as he knew.) The bear was the best "survival" animal he could think of when he couldn't escape.
The words of the God didn't reach him until he had already morphed. Not in timeline, but in registry. He shook his head, sending slobber into the corn. His ankle was no longer injured, made clear as when he simply lay down passively.
He knew he would be no match against a God. Even while wild in fear, he was not stupid enough to attack someone so obviously powerful.
But he was still, as of yet, unable to change back. He would have to wait until his body caught up with his mind. His eyes sat hovering three feet off the ground, resting on paws easily the size of a man's chest, just behind the corn. The upper lip of the bear quivered as he instinctively let out the whimper of a frightened animal.
Another thing he hadn't learned to control yet; animal reactions to human emotions.
He was a shifter, this was true, but not a very talented one.
(OOC- I know the rules says only shifting into animals that exist...I do hope this counts. It is just a big bear. If it is not allowed, I will edit to make it a normal sized one)
Throwing a foul look over his shoulder at the male of darkness, a flicker of red swirled across the male's golden orbs ominously. "Aiming a gun at somebody is definitely not a way of gaining trust or calming them enough to speak to them. Whether or not it is loaded with killers or pacifiers." His eyes returned to gold, the red disappearing as the male god's psychotic alternate ego fell back down in to himself.
He turned away from the male, and back to the youngling whom he was really interested in. He watched as the male transformed in to a enormous bear, and his smirked. His own form began to change. Golden fur rippled along his body. His dirty blonde hair grew wildly and began to frame his entire skull. His face stretched forward, all his teeth sharpening and his already sharp canines grew longer. A tail extended upon from his spinal column from the human vestigial tail. He shook his mane of his new form. The lion, standing taller then any other stood just as slightly smaller then the bear. The eyes remained golden however, just like when in his human form. The lower mandible of the maw of the lion dropped down and a deep, rumbling roar bellowed forth from his chest. Deep and reverberant he bellowed loudly, deeply, and vibrantly at the bear before him.
Then the male changed back slowly, bones cracking and popping, grinding against each other as try broke and reshaped the male in to his human form. He then walked towards the bear and placed his hand upon his skull. "You are a good lad. You are strong, you simply don't know it yet. With practice and train, youngling, you could be an amazing individual whom all should fear angering. Does that not sound good? Not having to be afraid all the time? Not having to fear others an yourself?" He continued keeping his hand upon the male's ursine skull, not in violence but in console. He offered the male solace, compassion, and empathy.

Vagus thought deeply and realized that his over dramatized attempt at getting out of this had not worked. It not like he lied, he just blew it out of proportion. His failure was really apparent when the god addressed him and the boy turned into a bear that he would have to remember to use for later if the trouble got sticky. Though he didn't think that would be necessary if his plan played off without a hitch. He mumbled off a prayer too Anpu and hoped that the god could not see in the dark but figured that he could. Soon, the entire area was blanketed in darkness.
He made a dash for his weapons and snatched them up and placed them where they belonged on his person. He was kind of pissed about his L96A1 but was able to scavenge the thermal scope from it. Then he ran like hell. Like bloody hell. He hopped back on his giant shadow vulture and continued to fly like hell. As the darkness cleared a small stack of cash, a stack of $500 in $5s, and a note that read:
"If your ever in Vegas, don't be scarred to look me up."
(OOC: this is logically my last post on this thread unless he comes to Vegas)

The bear was roused as the man who called himself a God became a lion of nearly equal size. It was a natural response to a potential threat. He didn't think he'd win, but as an atural response to a threat he had to protect himself.
Then came the chest pounding roar. He heart the voice and with one of his favorite tricks, mimicked it. He took a deep breath and roared as loudly as he could, using as much air and as much of the hearty bear form he could muster. It was half in response, and half just to see if he could.
As soon as the man returnd to human form, the lay back down though. He didn't dare threaten someone who was able to do things like that. Who was so confident.
The hand on his head relaxed him. It was a gesture of friendship, something he rarely got. That was until he heard a strange mumbling that turned the area dark. He stood in a fury, instincts now driving him out of his right mind.
Sniffing the air, he located the man with relative ease. Bears, having one of the most sensitive senses of smells were hard to fool with mere shadows and darkness. He charged after the man, a barreling monstrosity of muscle and fur.
He...it roared in anger and fear, a territorial display of pure carnal rage. The thing moved much faster than a normal bear ought to have been able to, half due to the size, and half due to it not being a true bear.
He did not catch the man, but he came close, trailing on him by mere feet. When a flying creature was formed, the bear lurched forward, extending a massive claw and pushed off with all of it's might, attempting to tear at the thing.
He likely missed. He roared in anger as the prey escaped. Anger. Adrenaline. Rage.
His body shifted again, growing smaller, but easily more condense and into something somewhat more trying to deal with. Thumbs grew and muscles tensed into a toned, heavily strengthened formed of a great ape. The hair turned black and revealed parts of his chest and face. A gorrila, average size now stood in place of the bear, slapping his fists on the ground and beating his hands against his chest. Vocalizations of anger and animal rage boomed through the air.
He stopped after a moment of this silly display, his human mind returning to control.
He huffed once, releasing pent up carbon dioxide and turned around. He walked back to his camp site, where he had left the God a moment ago. Unsure of what to say, or even if he could speak, he just sat down by the roses he had grown and plucked one from the bush and held it gently, using one of his now, large fingers to brush the thing, trying to calm himself down. He huffed again.
He nodded, as if he had thought to himself something.
I don't want to be afraid anymore...I want to be able to control it...I want...to know.
He grunted and tossed the rose into the fire, letting the heat greedily consume it. It was not an act of frustration, just of curiosity. More roses would grow. this one, having been picked would die anyway, so a send off in flames was okay.
The corn finally returned to it's unaltered state as Felix finally, and slowly began to calm down, resuming the position he had previously been in, albeit now, in a rather silly ape-ish version of it.
Ca'guuror chuckled as the other male made it dark around them and with a clap of his hands, brilliant sunshine flooded the area. He watched as the male attempted an escape upon his shadowy bird and with a twitch of his nose both where misdirected, neither able to tell which way they should be going or where they were heading. He finished this off by raising his left palm and sending a burst of color at the shadow creature at it flew past. The brilliant burst of light would slice right through the shadows of the beast and send it cartwheeling to the ground, as dead as any other animal. "I did not say you where dismissed. Now sit and be still. Perhaps you shall learn something as well."
He turned back to the bear who had also attempted to attack the other male with largely unsuccessful results. The sun was still up, and it would remain on place for twenty four hours, magically remaining exactly where it was. He didn't like doing things like that, it disrupted the balance of the ecosystem around them. However the corn looked as of it might need some more sun anyways as an increased amount of rainfall had been upon this sector. He turned and walked back to the shape shifter who was now a magnificent gorilla. He smiled his fangs flashing in the sunlight now and he nodded. "A wonderful form, youngling. Well shaped, and muscular. You would be amazed at what a gorilla can do." He chuckled and nodded sitting down beside the boy.
Extending a hand he stirred the coals of the fire around with his metallic claws, then called a large length on rotten wood to them with telekinesis and laid it upon the fire. He watched as the flames licked up the wood, consuming the fuel and devouring the oxygen, ultimately resulting in the release of carbon dioxide and leaving behind ash. "So tell me, what is you name?" He lifted his golden orbs upon the face of the gorilla and then flicked them to the other male of he had indeed remained. "Your's well." He directed at him, if he should be there. Then back to the shape shifter beside him. "What is it you which to know?"

Considering all the stuff that had happened in a short period of time, it was almost foolish to realize that his only thought from this was: "I hate corn fields". He sighed, he knew he wasn't going to leave soon but he didn't like the fact that the shadow had been destroyed and that Nevermore was almost hit. Vagus sat down as per this Godly person instructed, and when it came time to answer of the god's question he simply said "Vagus" not including his last name for he knew that this man would know.
With the sudden rising of the sun Vagus threw up the hood to his jacket to protect himself from the sun, seeing as he burnt easily. Nevermore, who was shaken from the near death experience the god had subject him to, the bird lay in his lap being pet and feed sunflower seed by Vagus. "If I may speak, I would say to have a look at that boy's ankle. He sprained or possibly broken it. Looked pretty bad before he tried to kill me, and even then its not going to be better because he morphs" Vagus said almost apologetically
The animal huffed, attempting to take a deep breath with shaky results. It grunted once or twice before giving up and scrawling in the dirt.
F E L I X
He took another breath this one being steadier. The adrenaline having been largely used up on the chase and the temper tantrum he through, he was able to calm himself down now.
The hairs stood on end and shook and seemed to almost blur his visage for a moment. Bones snapped, the hair pulled back into his body, and the muscle faded. In a moment or two, he was back to his normal self. Albeit, largely nude. For some reason or another, a pair of shorts remained on him. He didn't question it.
"Felix....my name is Felix..."
He shook his head, a few snapping bones helped to realign his spinal column. His eyes were somewhat glazed, taking on a distant look.
"I want to know why."
He looked from both of the men, neither of them appearing to be anything close to human.
"Why am I like this?"
He never looked at his ability as a curse. But he did know that because of his inability to control it, he was never able to stay around people. He knew it was the cause of his running. Or...blamed it on such anyway.
He looked up to the God with listless eyes.
"What am I?"
His voice was weak. Angry. Confused. Everything he should have been when he was younger and first discovered his ability. He had been. He had been wanting to ask someone for as long as he knew about it. Only now did he have a chance at an answer.
The male chuckled as the great ape spelt his name upon the ground with his finger. 'Good,' he thought to himself. The boy could keep his mind with in other forms. A hard trick to learn to master, sometimes people never did manage to pull it off. This boy seemed to be a natural. He looked over at the dark elemental and threw the the male a grin.
"Is that so? Perhaps I leave it as a reminder to the young man that a fool hardy escape will always cost him pain and torment? Where as a calm though out retreat would have help him in a much better way?" He raised an eyebrow at the other male an turned back to the young shape shifter. "This is true, and not a dismissal of your retreat. Standing and fighting against somebody you know nothing about is a sure way to have your life force extinguished." He snapped his fingers and the fire before then snuffed out to emphasize his dramatic point. Also it was slightly pointless to have a fire going now that it was mid-day.
"I shall answer your questions in reverse order of which you asked them. What are you? You are a shape shifter. Able to rearrange your body as you see fit, in to any form you can see in your mind. Well almost any form. It is usually a genetic trait, passed down from the parents. However, in some cases like my own an I suspect yours, it is simply the random mixing of genes and crossover during meiosis. Meaning its a mutation. A marvelous one. So, now I have answered what you are and why you are the way you are Felix."
"It is understandable that you are frightened and overwhelmed by this. With nobody to turn to, and nobody to speak to you have felt alone and isolate. As you see though, you are not alone and there are others like yourself and others unlike yourself yet still gifted." He chuckled and raised an eyebrow at the male. "Now the real question is...what will you do with this information now that you have obtained it."
(OoC- Apologies for the wait time...it seems our Daemon friend left without letting me know.)
Felix looked into the ground wordlessly. He really had no idea what to say. A mutation? So he was a mutant? A freak? The knowledge sent chills down his spine and through his skin, causing goosebumps to break out. He did not like the day time. Too bright. Didn't allow for mystery. For hiding.
he took a deep breath and tried to pull himself together.
It's not like there is a lot I can do, is there? I guess I'd just keep doing what I always have..."
He did not mean to make it sound rude, he just really had no idea what he was expected to do with the information he was given. Or how to go about making use of his ability. He was just a kid who could do weird things. He didn't want to make trouble, or draw too much attention to himself. He wanted to escape from everything. To get to nature.
He considered it for a split second more.
"...I will escape."
He looked up to the figure before him.
"I will go live how I want to. Away from cities and trouble and all the issues of the world. I'll find a place I can go and be myself without worry."
He figured that was as good an answer as he'd be able to offer. He didn't know what this man wanted or where he came from, where he'd go, or what he'd think of the answer. But that was it. That was the last vestige of truth he had within him.
