It was so close to being finished, only one more mineral was needed and yet it couldn't be found any where. Not from scientists or on the black market. It infuriated him, all this time and it will be for nothing unless he can find some. Rurik had read every book, article, report and legend trying to track down this mineral. The best location he could get was in Russia.
Rurik sighed and rubbed his head. Its been 4 days now since hes last slept. Two since he ate and roughly sixteen hours since hes drank any thing. The fatigue was getting to him but he knew he could sleep on the plane over. Pushing away from the desk he stood up and craned his head to each side, cracking his neck. Looking down at the table in front of him he stared at the artificial spine that would store the power for his robots.
Turning he headed into the bathroom he quickly took off his clothes and took a shower. Once finished washing his body and hair he turned it off and stepped out. Drying off his body he walked into the bedroom and put on fresh clothes. Pulling out his suitcase he quickly stuffed it full of clothes and other items he needed. Taking the suitcase and setting it in the living room he walked into the garage and looked at the experiment being supported by cables from the ceiling to keep it up straight. "You will be finished soon." Turning out The light he shut the door and grabbed his bag and backpack which hes had packed full of his equipment for a long time.
Pulling the cellphone out of his pocket he found a number in his contacts, call it he spoke in Russian when the man answered. "Мне нужен лифт" ( I need a lift ) Simply hanging up he threw his bags in the back seat of his car and got in the drivers seat. Driving to the airport he walked with his bags in hand out to the old cargo plane and drunk looking man sitting on the stairs to it. "Till, we need to get there as soon as possible so don't pass out this time, yeah?" the russian man made no promises. Getting in the large plane after the pilot he set the bags down and sat down in one of the chairs attached to the wall. Looking at his clock he estimated how long it would take to get to Russia from now. Closing his eyes at the sound of the plane starting up Rurik was soon out cold.
The rough landing shaking the plane throwing every thing around making him hit his head is what ultimately woke Rurik up. Looking around he looked at his watch and yawned before standing up. The plane powered down and slowly came to a stop. Shaking the mans hand he stepped off the plane with his bags and walked towards the building. Walking into the building he waved to the man and walked right through. Rurik has been to Russia enough and has enough leverage here to slip through most security. The problem he faced at this point was where to find this mineral. It took him a while by foot but once he arrived at a bar he asked one of the many miners if they have seen any mineral that was round, rough but if cracked open it resembled a emerald and felt warm. Many said no but one said he has seen a rock like that. Though the area it was found in is shut down and even loggers don't log in the area any more.
Sighing Rurik paid the man and left the building with his bags, walking to the parking lot he pulled out his key gun from his bag and slipped it into the lock, pulling the trigger he can hear it unlock the door. Opening the door he set the bags on the passenger seat and used the gun to start the car. Driving out of the parking lot he headed east towards the small towns near the area the mineral was found in.

~Mother Russia~
The journey north east to Russia was a long and bitter one. Though Demmural Neziel Parson did not mind such a thing seeing as he heard of a rare and extremely valuable jewel like mineral some where in the rough rugged terrain of Russia. Thus the reason of him being in such a place. His informants usually never failed him, except for that time back in Guam when that mad man tried to capture him for voodoo purposes and Demmural simply electrocuted him. Gods forbid it happens again and he ends up facing a group of mad Russian mafia men for killing a poor Russian traveler that accidentally trespassed in his cave looking for shelter from a snow storm. The likelihood of such a fantasy becoming reality was very slim.
The specific area of Russia that Demmural was within, was indeed rocky, hilly, and also clustered with trees. This was not the area he was to look in for the specific mineral. According to his source, the clusters of rock would contain mica deposits. And from his travels, he heard tale of such things in the Russian forests.
Lifting his left hand, reaching it under his hood and giving a light scratch to his wavy flowing mane of hair that draped down to his jaw line area, Demmural ceased his continuous walking through the rocky forest. With shiny white glowing eyes he looked about curiously in deep thought, remaining silent for a moment. "Hmmmm...." He muttered from under his dark hood. Sure it was midday, but it was Russia. Cloudy, and dim. The forest canopy added to the shady darkness. Demmural let his left hand reach its way to his left side, pulling a leather drinking sack from his leather belt as he placed the spout to his lips where he then took a small sip of water. After doing so he attached it back unto the leather belt of his dark brown robe. From there he paced onward through the dense forest in high hopes of discovering this said mineral.

Hours of driving and he finally arrived. Stopping the car on a old logging pad he got out of the car. Looking around he grabbed his backpack and slipped it on. Reaching into his bag he pulled out the .45 and put it on his hip, the gun hidden from the world by the large coat he has on to keep warm in this cold northern hell.
Closing the door he locked it and began walking down the hill straight towards one of the larger mountains that had been mined. The small map he got that shows where the mines were he kept in his front pocket, pulling it out to make sure hes on the right track every now and then.
Rurik just kept on walking, he had been for a while and lost track of time. When he realized it he was already on the mountain he needed to be. The sounds of the birds could be heard but what caught his attention is the sound of branches snapping and rocks sliding. Stopping he listened, finding where the sound came from he could see it in the distance through the trees but was following the sound.

~Noises~
Demmural followed the directions given to him by his source, and followed the land marks that were told to him. They all lead to a opening in the forest, where from there Demmural could see his destination. He pushed forward through the open clearing, headed straight for the the small mountain side that he spotted. The amount of time it took to reach it was short indeed. Only taking a brief ten minutes. Demmural still expressed his same facial emotion that he had from the beginning of his journey. Plain, and serious, stripped of all emotions and feelings. This was his usual face when journeying alone. He was glad inside though, for he was able to enjoy peace and quiet. Or so he thought.
His peace and quiet was stripped from the grasp of his mind as he heard limbs breaking and snapping off to his far right side. The sound of rock and gravel sliding also filled the silent space in the forest. Demmural closed his eyes and sighed in disbelief, lowering his head slightly. He then swiveled his head to his right and re-lifted it to its original position as if he were standing up right. Letting his white glowing eyes open once more, as he looked towards the origination of the noise. Limbs continued to shatter and snap. With every crack and snap of a branch, Demmurals sanity was slowly slipping. He was beginning to get annoyed by such acts of nature. Or was it nature? Was it another being coming to hunt for the mineral as well? If so, Demmural would either have to dispose of the being, or simply work along side him or her to have some type of aid in finding it, and then dispose of the being claiming the mineral for himself.
"What could be over there I wonder....Well regardless....I must put a stop to this irritant noise once and for all..." Demmural stated quietly to himself, speaking to no one in particular as he slowly began to walk towards the location of the noise. It was about two foot ball fields away from where he currently was, which Demmural did not mind taking a small detour to discover what it was. As before, he tried his best to keep quiet, avoiding limbs and twigs on the ground.

The noise, he couldn't tell what it was just yet but it was big. In russia his best guess would be a bear. Unsure of what it is he slowly pulled the 45 out of the holster and held it in his hand, pointing at the ground. Staring at the noise he followed it before it came into his sight. A large brown bear, sighing in relief he holsters the pistol and watches the bear. It looked at him then looked behind him at something up the hill.
Rurik watched the bear as it grunted and moved on. curious as to what the beast looked at he looked up the hill and began walking slowly. Carefully stepping to be quiet he listened for any noise as he made his way to the cavern. Looking around and down the valley through the trees to see if he can see any one. He didn't like not having the high ground. Although with the supplies in his pack it would be easy enough to change that.

~Monstrosities~
Demmural stopped dead in his tracks as what he realized the noises he was approaching were originating from a large bear. It looked back towards him, and then continued on grunting, carrying out its business. Demmural sighed lightly in slight relief and also boredom for it was merely a bear. Though as he thought deeper upon the subject of the mineral, and his current journey, he agreed with himself that he could not be the only one after the rare mineral in mother Russia. Pondering quickly upon the subject, as he turned back towards the mountain and continued onward pursuing his objective. From what he could gather in his head from various thoughts, either treasure hunters, scientists, or geologists would be after such a rare thing. Demmural being a gatherer of rare and fine items, merely to sale them on the black market to make a living, he was in it for the money, and not the Mineral itself.
He stopped once more from proceeding quietly through the forest as he had a sudden realization. The bear had looked at some thing or some one else before continuing. More or less looked back at some one or thing. He then placed his back against a tree. Once again thoughts raced through his mind as he pondered on what the bear looked at before continuing. Whatever it was, it had to be down that slope. One place that Demmural wished not to end up at, for he already had the high ground. And ever since ancient times, who ever has the high grounds, has the advantage. This was something that Demmural had, and would definitely use to learn what this other thing was that the bear had looked upon.
"There are many fickle ladies...But mother Russia...is the dumbest of them all..." Demmural made a small joke under his breath as he smiled and relaxed his head against the trees trunk as he let the sounds of the forest fill his ear. Mostly quiet. He waited intently for some unknown noise to present itself an an alien to the forest. Seeing as he was hidden from view from the direction of which he came, he would have an increased chance of being seen, and these odds were boosted due to the massive tree trunk he hid behind. And so, Demmural waited patiently.
Looking at the map he pulled out the gps and learned he was ontop of where he needed to be. The mine that held the ore was directly below him. Now to figure out just how to get down there, a shaft must be around here but he didn't see one. It must of been on the other side of the mountain Rurik thought as he looking at the hill in front of him. Looking back and forth he scanned for the mine shaft or a way to get to it. Sighing heavily Rurik sat down. Taking off his pack he rested it against the tree and pulled out a little bag. Inside the bag held a cucumber sandwich and a juice box. Taking the straw he punctured the hole and sipped his drink before taking a bite of his sandwich. He enjoyed it and the view. It was beautiful being up this high, he could see over the hills and mountains until the earth curved.
His mind wandered else where as he ate his sandwich slowly. Sipping the juice every now and than. Finishing his sandwich and juice he folded every thing perfectly and put it back in the bag. Folding the bag he set it in a smaller pocket of his pack. Pulling out the map and gps he held onto a pen. Circling areas of the map he found it on the gps and marked it as locations that might hold in entrance.
