Tayva had been spending the last couple of days traveling through the country, taking a brief pause to visit the city of Washington. She had grown bored and restless with the disappearance of almost all of her friends, save of course for Kyrian. She wanted to give him a little time to himself, as she had been spending quite a bit of time in his home. While she was grateful for it, she wanted to give him a little personal time, as to not be a bother.
She couldn't remember if she had been to this city before or not, but figured it would have been a fun chance to get out and do some shopping. With some money in her pocket, she wouldn't have to worry too much about going hungry, or looking after her draconic companion. He had wandered off to examine the natural areas called 'parks', but was supposed to meet up again with the draconian in a few hours. She had not heard anything back from him in regards to being late, so she figured that he wouldn't be much longer.
Standing outside of a local Starbucks, with a hot chocolate in hand, she sniffed the delectable beverage, letting it warm her hands as she took a small sip, trying to decide what to do next. There weren't many people on the street due to the winter weather, leaving her to herself.

Having finally got a good nights sleep Rurik woke, stretching he crawled out of bed and slipped on his clothes. Walking to the living room he looked at the time before grabbing his wallet, phone, stun gun, baton and keys. Slipping on his coat he wraps the scarf around his neck and yawns as he opens the door and closes it behind him. Hearing it click locked he walks down the steps and heads down the road. It is a little walk but he would get into the town within 10 minutes.
As he got to town he turned down the main road and headed for the nearby Starbucks. He could use what little energy the caffeine gave him, he mostly bought the drink for its taste. Walking up to the store he entered through the side door. Waving to the barista he saw as she started making his drink. Having lived in this town so long the workers know what he likes and makes it for him without even having to hear what he wants. Putting the 5 dollars on the counter he grabbed his drink and waved goodbye as he walked outside. Stopping he took a sip before looking around, wondering just want to do he pulled out his phone and looked at his email, nothing important was needing to be done or tomorrow so he didn't have to do much today.
Looking over he saw the woman standing there, smiling he nodded to her before looking back at his phone and typing out a email quickly.

The warm deliciousness of the hot chocolate was enough to make Tayva smile, putting her in a fairly good mood. While she had lots of free time, she rarely found any opportunities to really socialize with others. It was a rather unfortunate predicament for one who wanted to make lots of friends, but Talos' rather antisocial behaviour around other humans tended to make things tricky, and normally drove people away. However he was not with her at the moment, and a rather nice gentleman had offered her a smile.
She watched, curious as he checked his phone for new messages, turning to face him. She waited until he put his phone away, trying to think of some way to start conversation. She normally preferred someone else starting things off, but if she wanted more friends, she would have to be assertive. Even with a complete stranger. But what was there to really talk about? He looked like a regular old human, and she was something else all together.
"So... what are you drinking?" she asked, trying to start out with something small, seeming a little shy as she brought up the question. Hopefully he wouldn't see her as some weirdo that wanted nothing more than a little chit chat.

When he put his phone away he heard her speak, looking over it took a second before he realized what she said. "Oh, chai latte." Lifting his cup he took a sip and spoke again. "You?" Not many people just started conversations with him so it was slightly odd for him. Scratching his cheek he looked her over and smiled back at her when he realized he was maybe staring at her.
"Do you live around here? I haven't seen you around and I frequent this starbucks quiet often." He wondered who this girl was and why she was just standing outside, although he was doing the same thing. This was more of a ritual to him though, get a drink, stand outside, figure out what to do, don't figure out any thing and go home and sleep the rest of the day.

"Just a hot chocolate, nothing too special." she replied, glancing down at her drink. It wasn't necessarily the best one she ever had, she personally preferred the white hot chocolates that she could get back home. They were much sweeter and weren't as strong as the ones that this chain had provided. Still it was something that she was becoming more familiar with, having spent more time in the United States than her own home country.
"Nah, I just came into the city yesterday. I've been spending some time in Chicago, but I come from up north." the girl explained, taking a sip of her warm drink before smiling. It was nice coming form Canada, as she found herself capable of blending in to American society. Heck she could be easily mistaken for one, she found no offense in that.
"I'm just doing a little bit of traveling around, trying to take my mind off of a dream I once had. Basically just exploring about for the most part." the girl explained, having tried to rid her thoughts of the idea of flight. She had not heard anything back at all from Craig, and it had been almost a month since he disappeared on her. The girl's life seemed to be one disappointment after another, and if it wasn't for Kyrian, she had no idea what she would have done.

"Hot chocolate is good, though I don't enjoy a lot of chocolate, a little bit is good though." Sipping his drink he looked at her and wondered what it was off about her, its just a gut feeling but its one he couldn't shake. He wondered what he dream was, he didn't want to pry but he could guess the only way to find out would be to ask. "What was the dream you had?"
"Would you like to sit then stand there?"Turning he walked past her and sat down on the bench against the wall. Resting the cup in his lap he held it there as he leaned back and rested his head on the wall before closing his eyes for a few seconds then opening them and looking at her. Taking another sip of his drink he took in a deep breath and let it out before his mind quickly wandered to his project, it clicked in his mind on how he could fix the wiring problem in the joints.

"Sure, it's probably better than standing around when there's a place to be more comfortable." Tayva smiled, following him over to the bench and took a seat. She wasn't much of a coffee person, and so the hot chocolate was one of the few options left at a place like Starbucks. Taking another sip of her drink, she thought a little bit about his question, about what her dream had been.
"Well...I know it sounds stupid... but I've always wanted to be able to fly. Not in the sense of riding an airplane or using some personal device, but to be able fly above the earth unaided. To have that sort of freedom that only the birds, bats, and bugs seem to have." the Draconian explained, glancing up at the sky with a brief moment of clarity. Of course, dragons could always fly too... but to include them in her small list would probably make her sound crazy to the human she sat next to.
"I don't think there's really much that can be done to progress the dream though. It's physically impossible for someone to fly without such a device anyways." the girl added with a slight shrug, before taking another sip of her warm drink.

Rurik sat there half listening to her and going through his mind what he still needed to fix, he wasnt ignoring her or not listening he was listening and paying attention to her, this was just a skill he had learned over the years. When she mentioned flight he looked over and gave her his full attention. "You wish to fly? Why is that? It could be done simple enough if I can figure out the energy problem im having.." He quielty slipped back into his mind, still listening for if she talked but his stare went blank as he tried to fix the issue in his head.

Looking over to her new companion, Tayva offered him a small, somewhat distant smile as he questioned her will to fly. Turning her gaze to the sky, she sighed. "It's...complicated. I've always wanted to do so, ever since I was a little kid. Just the idea of being unrestrained by gravity, to have the freedom to go wherever you chose, and not be restrained by man-made transportation. I want to experience the real thing first hand, rather than just fly on a plane and look out a window. To feel the freeze and the sun, and to fly alongside the birds who possess the same gift."
Glancing back down at him, the girl suddenly grinned. "I hope I don't sound weird or anything, but its just something that's been on my mind for quite a long time. I just can't shake the wish, even if I wanted to." she explained, scratching the back of her neck before taking a sip of her hot beverage once again, the warmth snapping her back into the reality that she was forced to endure for the time being, where the dream probably would not be as likely as she, or her new companion, could imagine.

He finished his drink faster then he normally does, although hes sitting and talking not staring at sheets of paper or building robotic limbs and letting the drink just get to the point where its too cold. Listening to her explain he reached over and dropped the empty cup into the garbage can. "Dreams are dreams, we all have our own. Some are possible some aren't. Flying with flesh wings not so much right now, with a small bit of help it is like I said theoretically possible."
Stretching he popped his neck and back before sitting up straight and looking at her. "Have you ever tried hang gliding? using a wing suit to fly?"
