"I don't think it's fair to say that only humans can forgive." Tayva commented, wondering what exactly he thought of when it came to the supernatural. Really anyone that could think and reason could forgive, and it wasn't something special that humans could do that others could not. Perhaps there were some that were more willing to forgive than others, though perhaps not always a well thought-out plan. To Tayva so long as the one that had caused the act was truly sorry for what they had done, truly sorry, then she could find herself willing to forgive. The gesture would be lost upon someone who was unwilling to change their ways though, showing no interest in apology and continuing to do what it was they had done.
"I'm not sure what he was, but he was not human, that was for sure." She knew there were limits to what humans and draconians could accomplish with their limited beings, but with the supernatural it appeared as if they could break boundaries with ease. "But he seemed rather unflinching or unbothered by the idea of causing harm or death to someone. Even with a different upbringing, there's a limit to what it has on a person. After a certain point, it's up to self decision." She wasn't an expert, but what she was certain about was that he definitely was not human.

Tayva kept her arms crossed, glancing downward at the ground as he questioned about her personal life, and in particular the question of whether or not someone had hurt her in the past. Past was past, nothing there that could be changed, even if she wanted to. There never really was any point on dwelling upon such things, and the sudden need to bring them up was a little bit unsettling.
"Maybe I have, but I've made peace with everything. Not just because I've had time to reflect back on such things, but because you cant change what's happened. You can only learn from it and move on." she replied, feeling a little defensive. Yes, she had been mad at Kyrian for ditching her after only one date. But she had forgiven him because he had made some attempt at patching things up, and giving her an explanation on why he had done what he did.
As for the encounter with the mystery man, there was no point on dwelling upon it. Until she knew his motivations, she would be closed off. But she couldn't change what had happened back then, so there was no need to talk about it. It wouldn't change that she had been attacked. It wouldn't change that she had been sent to the hospital because of it.
"What I mean is, I don't feel that there's a point in forgiving someone who would likely do the same thing again and again. It's like trying to help someone to get something done: if they aren't even going to try and do anything, then what's the point in helping them?"

"Agreed, better to stop now before something gets said that can't be taken back." Tayva grinned, peering to the sky once again. Despite the noise pollution that the city provided, she was just able to look past into the stars, seeing a few of the brightest ones managing to peek through the unnatural light back down at them. She hadn't realized it was so late, probably the reason that Talos suddenly began to snore, having dozed off not too long ago. The poor thing was still probably tired from having to fly around the country almost a week ago.
"So have you ever considered going into medicine? You seem like a smart kid, and I think it'd be really cool to be able to help people both physically and mentally." To fix both problems with the human body would definitely be a gift, one that could be shared with the rest of the world. Tayva always wanted to lend people a hand whenever she could, at least more so as her old self, before the weight of the world crashed down on her in one sweep of razor sharp claws. She still wanted to find her purpose though, which she began to wonder if it was possible that she could make a purpose out of helping others, for the better of course.

Tayva knew what he meant, the worry of screwing up when someone depended on you the most. It was something she had the pleasure of not experiencing, because nobody ever did seem to depend on her. It was a load off her shoulders, though she didn't mind it to be different. At least then she would feel as if she had a purpose or a meaning in this place.
"Nobody is a perfectionist." Tayva commented, glancing over to Tyler who looked about ready to pass out. "Everyone will make mistakes, even if they're the best at what they do. But it's from these mistakes that we learn, whether its how to do something the right way or improve on it. It's like having a teacher, though without having to pay them. Even with psychology you run the risk of telling someone the wrong thing, but the ability to get through those fears make you stronger."
It seemed that not long after explaining this, he thanked her, and passed out. She watched him for a few moments, making sure he was truly asleep, before crawling over to him. She adjusted the bedding that she had offered, enough to try and make him more comfortable in his position, rather than freeze in the cooler weather. She then took to sitting next to him, and falling asleep herself. At some point later on there would be a stir, as Talos shifted to human form during his rest, the result of a habit he picked up on whenever they slept out in the forest, in case someone found them.

Tayva let out a small groan as Tyler's voice called to her during her sleep. She had curled up almost on top of Talos during her rest, using his midsection as a pillow overnight. He did not seem to notice though, or else he simply did not care. The human's words first awoke the dragon, who carefully began to rise to his feet, soon awaking Tayva afterward.
Rubbing her eyes sleepily, she blinked a couple of times, before glancing around at the forested scenery around them. Did they really just fall asleep inside the park? Whatever happened, she was starving, and so was the dragon. Then again Talos was almost always hungry, more used to larger portions of meat than what the humans would tend to ration out at supermarkets.
"...Morning already?" Tayva asked with a small yawn, before stretching, then turning to grab her belongings, folding up the blanketing that Tyler had been using during his slumber. "We should probably go get something to eat." With whatever money she had left that was. Their meal last night had been so basic because of the few funds that Tayva possessed, but she hoped to change that once she returned back north, for Talos supposedly had something to show her which would change that.

Tayva was a bit surprised by the offer he had made, not only to herself but to Talos as well. Perhaps he was trying to get on the Dragon's good side. Not like such a thing really did exist, as apart from Craig Talos did not care for humans in general. She couldn't help but feel a little bad for Talos' behaviour, but it was who he was after all, and that was likely not going to change any time soon.
"Try to be nice. He's trying hard to get to like you, so cut him a little slack." Tayva asked her companion through their mental link, though did not receive a sound answer. Whether or not he cared was really the question, and Tayva just hoped that he would take her question into consideration.
"We'd love that. Our funds are pretty stretched as they are right now, so sorry I couldn't offer you anything more last night." Tayva replied with a small grin, feeling a little embarrassed in her apology. She did wish that she had more to offer, but with neither of the pair working, there was no real way to bring in any sort of income. And Tayva wasn't ready to get tied down with a job. Not when there was still too much of the world to see.
"What did you have in mind for breakfest?" Tayva added in question, not wanting to suggest something like a restaurant. She hadn't given him much in the previous night, and something that extravagant would set things out of balance to her.

"I've never gone before, but I bet I'll like it." Tayva commented with a slight smile, remembering the reason that she had not gone before. Apparently her parents had dined there once when she was little, and the chicken had been severely under-cooked. All it took was one bad experience for them to never eat there again. But Tayva always wondered what it was like.
"Anyways that sounds good. I haven't had any meat for awhile, as it all goes to Talos." Of course it never seemed to satisfy the dragon, so Tayva had been looking for other alternatives to help her companion with his hunger. A good buffet was what they needed, but unfortunately all they had managed to find were the ethnic varieties, that served very little meat.
"So have you thought about what I said last night? I think you'd have real talent with helping people both physically and mentally." Tayva didn't want to beat a dead horse, but she was curious as to any possibility of him getting into the same field as Craig had. The idea of having more bio engineers out there could mean that more people's lives could be changed for the better. Though if there were more creatures out there like the vampyre that had supposedly attacked bio engineers, then there might be a problem.

Tayva smiled, finding it a pleasing coincidence that the kid was interested in the field of genetics. He seemed a little secretive with it, but it was a field that wasn't accepted by everyone. "Well...I have a friend that's a step ahead of you in it, and he's doing some pretty cool work. I'm sure if you keep your mind on it you'll be able to do anything you want." Tayva told him.
She was saying this not because she wanted to achieve her own dream, but because she wanted him to pursue his interests, no matter what he thought other people would think. There was no need to be so secretive over something so awesome, and she wished that others would not be as judging. Even if it was on the verge of playing god, it was a process that could better mankind.
"Anyways I hope you do pursue the area more." she finished, before they began to near the restaurant they had been planning to eat at. She couldn't help but begin to feel starved, the little bit of fruit she had eaten back in the park barely tiding her over. Perhaps she was even hungrier than Talos, if that was even possible.

"I did..." Tayva replied, her expressioning saddening a little as she let out a small sigh. "But then he got framed for a string of murders and now he's on the run from the cops. The last time I saw him was about a week ago after helping him escape, but I'm not sure where he is now. Wherever he is though, he's probably not going to help me with my dream until he settles wherever he's chosen." Tayva explained.
It was true that she'd miss the man, he was rather interesting as a bio engineer. However they had almost no time to simply hang out together, and now it seemed like such time would not come for a long time in the foreseeable future.
"Agreed, let's eat." she grinned, trying to shake the sad thoughts from her head to focus on the good of today as the three of them entered into the building. The smell only worsened her hunger, making her wanting food much more. Talos smelled the air, seeming rather pleased with the scent of the sauce they used. He could not speak verbally, but his body language was enough to show that he was interested in the scent in the air.

Tayva took a little time to examine the menu, knowing that Talos would need a larger portion. What she ordered for the dragon would merely be to tie him over for the time being, until they found something cheaper. A lot of the options sounded the same, though the idea of the pot pie was rather appealing.
"I'll have the chicken pot pie, with fries and a chocolate milk as well. And he'll have the half chicken dinner with fries, and water to drink." Tayva concluded, folding up their menus and handing them back to their waiter. The food couldn't come soon enough, hoping for some kind of starter or appetizer for the table. Even a bit of bread would be great.
"So what made you want to come to Chicago anyways?" Tayva questioned, leaning on her elbows as she fiddled with her fork. Talos was doing the same beside her, though with a noticeable learning curve as he tried to mimic Tayva holding the utensil, not seeming to be certain of how to use the damned things. Glancing over at her dragon, Tayva giggled and helped him with the fingering on his utensils. It looked silly for him to hold his fork with a fist, and she knew that he wouldn't get it right away anyways.

"I think you mentioned that your story explained why you wanted to get into psychology, rather than why you were here in Chicago." Tayva replied, grabbing a piece of bread and quickly ripping off a chunk with her teeth, obviously starved. She didn't have the best of memory, but that was what she figured.
"I've stayed with him for a little while over the past week, but I don't want it to become a permanent thing. I don't like staying in one place for too long anyways, because I want to find out what my purpose is out there in the world. And I won't find that sitting around and doing nothing." she replied with a small smirk. She had yet to find a purpose, and whether it was here in Chicago, or somewhere else in the world, she would have to look for herself.
Talos seemed to be getting the hang of the utensil, attempting to practice on a small chunk of bread from the basket. Human food and culture was rather strange, something that he was probably never going to get a hold of. However so long as he was with Tayva, he would always have to learn something new. Not the most ideal situation, but it was interesting.

As their proper meals were brought about, Tayva tried to pace herself as well, though Talos seemed more keen on ripping off larger chunks of the chicken with his fork. A larger appetite seemed to mean less time wasted on rationing. "Sorry if I ask the same thing over and over, my memory isn't always that great." Tayva responded, feeling a bit embarrassed when it came to minute details on a person she barely knew.
Despite the lack of direction in her life, Tayva knew for sure that she wanted to help people. Even if her life revolved around going around and seeking out people who needed aid, then it would be something that she could die with happily. Talos on the other hand would probably need something to keep his interest. Tayva had a habit of forgetting that he often did or did not want to do specific things, and she needed to pay more attention.
And Talos knew too that she wanted to help people, which was a step in the right direction after the attack from the Gorgon. But he still feared that going too close back to her happy-go-lucky self would mean her risking her life once again. He would hate to have something happen to her again, if the vampyre attack hadn't been bad enough.

Sure enough their conversation seemed to go from light-hearted to serious, especially as Tyler began to describe this girl to Tayva. She wasn't sure how he meant by 'abused', but whatever the case the girl sounded like she was in trouble and in need of help. Slicing through another piece of chicken and taking a bite, she responded:
"Well I'm not sure who Kyrian knows, since I haven't seen him in a long time. But if you need any extra help, like getting from one point in the country to another, I'm sure we can offer some help." Tayva responded with a smile, leaning in a little closer. She didn't want their conversation heard over prying ears anyways.
"With my friend Craig, we had to fly from Ontario all the way down to Nevada, literally broke down the roof of the prison he was being held in, and flew all the way back, all in one night. Of course it was rather exhausting, but it was a little bit of a thrill. To do things youre not supposed to do and whatnot." Tayva knew that Talos was still recovering a bit from that long distance flight, but she knew that he would be ready to take off again soon if needed. That was if they needed to fly undetected. The airport had not been an option in Craig's case because he was wanted by the law, so it was up to Tyler and his friend to make the call.
"After all, I can't help but wonder if my purpose here is to help people out...even strangers."

Tyler seemed to be the only person Tayva ever met who continued to take into consideration what Talos felt about things. It was strange to the dragon who did not speak to anyone but his bonded, but interesting. So the human apparently had a good heart. Perhaps he didn't have any special traits about him, though Tayva seemed excited to hear that he had an interest in genetics. But in a way, the kid reminded him a little of his draconian partner: always wanting to do the best for someone else.
As Talos thought about this, Tayva looked over at him, and the two connected with each other's eyes, if only for a few moments. Tayva then turned back to Tyler and smiled. "He said he'll help out. Normally it's just because it's something I'm getting involved in, but he seems to have warmed up to you a little... even if its not entirely visible." Tayva explained with a grin. Of course more things would have to be discussed later, but until then they could enjoy their meal together.
Tayva was not looking for anything in return, as she never really did. Not once did she bring up to Craig the fact that he still owed her while they were fleeing for their lives from the prison facility. But even if they did not have such an agreement, she would have helped him anyway, because that was just the way she was.

Tyler seemed rather enthusiastic about the fact that Talos had warmed up to him a bit. Not a whole lot, but enough that he could be tolerated, and perhaps reply to him when he was asked things directly. Humans were strange when it came to respect after all, seeming to want it for doing nothing. Though this one was at least trying, which could not always be said for others.
"Sure, it shouldn't be a problem." Tayva replied, getting close to finishing her meal. Even though she had been starved when she first started, the amount of bread she had eaten before had filled her up. Talos of course was still rather hungry, so he cleaned off Tayva's leftovers when she offered them, seeming no hungrier or fuller than when they first started eating.
"Just let us know when you're ready to take off. Unless you wanted to go right after breakfast." Tayva questioned, unsure of what he had in mind. She didn't want to dash his hopes though, even if she didn't know how much help Kyrian was going to offer. He was a nice guy, but he had been up to something earlier that seemed to drain most of his energy.
