The last few days had been rather touch and go for the draconian. Not long ago did she fall target to a group of vampyres, having nearly cost the girl her life. She only managed to get away with the aid of her draconic partner Talos, who she was heading out to meet. They didn't stray any farther apart than necessary, the dragon remaining in a more distant section of the park, farther off from the murder scene. Hopefully they would have a little more privacy within the scenic area.
Tayva didn't even notice Tyler as she tried to get past the crime scene without being noticed. Wearing a sweater, she wanted to try and conceal the scars from the many claws that the group had possessed earlier, not wanting to be questioned about her well-being. Or appear as any more helpless. The scars still stung, but not in comparison to the large painful scar upon her chest, having been gained when a Gorgon had attempted to take her heart. She barely escaped that, but the foot-long scar that remained would always be a constant reminder of the threats within the world around her.

Tayva continued on for another fifteen minutes, before coming across a small clearing where she saw the human disguise of Talos, leaning against a tree and waiting for her. Arriving at her destination, she finally stopped and dropped her bag, rummaging around until she pulled out a few various things: mostly containers of raw ground meats and a couple of apples. Talos moved toward the packets of meat, sniffing them before nodding, handing them back to the girl before taking a few steps back, and stretching.
During his stretch, his figure began to distort and stretch, clothing and skin being replaced by red scales, the appearance of Talos warping and changing as it grew bigger and bigger, taking on a four-legged appearance. As the transformation drew to its end, the now draconic form proceeded to sniff the meats again. Tayva began to help the dragon with the packaging, removing the plastic cover so that he could snake away the clumps of meat with a serpentine tongue. As he ate, Tayva sat back against another tree, taking a bit from the apple she held.
"I hope we don't get found here. I was hoping that the crime scene would mean fewer people coming into this place." she replied, before shrugging off her sweater, letting her skin, and the scars among her limbs, breathe.

Tayva didn't expect her name to get called, and upon hearing it immediatley realized that they were no longer alone. Before she could react Talos was already making his way toward the human, eyes glaring down at the smaller figure. He recognized the man from the restaurant, as the shy human that didn't say much to them.
Hearing Talos growl a little, Tayva got back onto her feet and ran over toward the two. "Cut it out." she scolded the dragon, who glanced at his draconian partner with a small huff, before returning back to their belongings. Fortunately he didn't decide to try and make a meal out of him, which he rarely did anyways as humans supposedly had a poor bone to flesh ratio. Upon closer inspection, he would be able to see that the many wounds that had been inflicted upon the girl were almost fresh still, but too small to be from the claws of a dragon.
"Tyler... what are you doing here?" she asked, clearly looking a little uncomfortable. After all, he had just stumbled upon her biggest secret. One she had hoped to keep hidden from him. Perhaps he could have handled it later on when they knew each other a little bit better. But this was a big surprise for him, for a human. She didn't even know how to progress, as never before did she have to deal with a human who was probably completely new to the idea of the supernatural.

"We wanted a little privacy so that Talos didn't have to remain in his stuffy disguise." Tayva explained, crouching down as the human struggled to recover his figure. She hadn't intended on scaring him, but Talos was not the kind of dragon that appreciated being snuck up on, or followed by a human.
She watched calmly to make sure he was alright, before she extended her arm, offering him her hand. "Come on, let's go get you more comfortable." the girl offered, having a blanket and a pillow from when she normally slept in the outdoors. He could probably use it more than she did.
Upon hearing him ask if she was going to kill him, she simply shook her head with a smile. Typical humans, frightened of the idea that too much knowledge was a bad thing. "Of course I'm not. And neither is Talos. You're safe here." she assured the human, before leading him back to where they had settled down earlier. By then Talos had already curled up against a tree, a single eye lay watching the two from his position on the ground. He didn't care much for humans, for no good rarely came from them. It was always Tayva that had the more caring heart, so he tended to sit out from the more social activities that he would eventually get dragged into by the girl.

Tayva glanced back over at Talos, who stretched his long neck across the grass and onto the ground, still watching the two uneasily. Tayva looked at the dragon with a sad smile, before looking back over to Tyler, grabbing a few things from her bag. "To be honest he doesn't really care much for anyone else. It takes a lot to impress a dragon after all, and very few can do so." she explained, pulling the blanket and pillow out from her bag, and offering him both.
"Here, you should make yourself comfortable." she suggested, before walking back over to Talos, resting against his leg as she watched Tyler. It was a hard thing to do to make someone relax and be comfortable in the presence of a fire-breathing carnivorous reptilian beast. But since he had stumbled in upon their little secret, he would have to get used to it.
"And there's no need to apologize about this. To be honest I imagined it would have happened eventually, just a lot sooner than I would have thought." Tayva admitted. Of course he would probably still be reeling from the thrill of learning such secrets, thrills that she had learned to fear not too long ago

Tayva shuddered at the word, lifting her arm up enough to catch a glimpse of the crisscrossing marks that ran across her flesh, ruining her once pristine-looking skin. Now she just looked like some kind of trauma survivor, a weak one at that. And the last thing she wanted was to look weak, as it always ended up attracting all sorts of negative attention from those looking for a cheap meal.
"...Sorry." she blurted, letting her arm drop back down against her side. Feeling that he was beginning to wonder what she was doing mentally, she sighed. "...They are real as well... in fact not too long ago I was attacked by a small group of them. They aren't pushovers you know. Stronger, faster, and smarter than humans. If it wasn't for Talos coming to my aid, I would have probably been eaten alive where I stood. That doesn't mean I came out of the fight untouched though." she added, nodding to her two extended arms, which both revealed the multitude of scars she had received from the fight.
"I've been trying to keep low since, but ever since the fight I haven't been feeling a hundred percent. I wanted to hide the marks before anyone else asked, because the discussion on what's real and what's not is not a really... fun discussion to have."

Tayva frowned a little, not feeling lucky in the slightest. She might have been lucky to stay alive, but not to have stumbled into the man's trap to begin with, or to even come across him in the first place. If anything, she would have considered herself to be rather unlucky, but the last thing she wanted right now was to lower the man's spirits, not with her troubles.
"Dont worry about it. You can ask whatever you like." she responded, knowing that there was no point in hiding anything anymore. He knew her biggest secret now, so there wasn't much more for him to really find out. Ergo no reason for him to decide not to ask any more questions.
"Talos is okay. His scales protected him from most of the attackers. Not much can get through dragon scales." she explained. "On the other hand, I didn't have much of anything to protect myself with, so when the attackers came, I didn't stand much of a chance. I might not be dead, but its going to take quite awhile before I recover from what happened." And no just physically, for Tayva was scared when it came to the attack. She hoped never to come across another blood feeder again after her experience.

"The odds of a dragon eating you is lower than winning the lottery. Most dragons dont like to eat humans, and rarely do they come into populated areas." Tayva corrected, trying to make herself comfortable against her companion. She was rather used to sleeping against his side during the colder nights, so long as he didn't suddenly decide to roll over.
"Same thing goes for vampyres. Nobody wants to get discovered or caught, so most will play it safe and hide out. Again, low chances of being caught up by one of them. Plus if you don't look too timid they'll leave you alone. The reason I was attacked was because they were being influenced by someone else." she explained, noticing how the kid looked rather frightened of the thought of being eaten or attacked or killed.
"You've just gotta relax. Even with the knowledge of their existence, you can still go about a normal life. Just be sure not to draw any attention to yourself and you'll be okay." Tayva grinned. "Now relax and having something to eat. I've got some fruit in my bag if you're interested." She knew she hadn't been that talkative to him when they had first met, and she wished to change her first impression upon the human sooner than later.

"I'm sure you'll do fine, you seem like a sweet kid anyway. Just don't let anyone push you around." Tayva responded with a smile. She didn't want him to be discouraged or feel troubled by the fact that he had learned one of the biggest secrets in his life, but she didn't want him to overthink anything either.
As he asked how the two of them had met, she thought back to the older days, when she was just as naive as he was, and had only just started to learn that they weren't alone in the world. From that point she had been brought to the Rockies, where she had to set out to meet a suitable companion, as her parents had done before her. Not a really amazing or even interesting story, but he did ask.
"Well when I first learned about my heritage, my parents took me out west where I was supposed to spend a few days alone in the wilderness, to seek out a kindred spirit in the Rockies. After a few days and becoming exhausted and famished, I eventually met Talos, and we haven't left each other since then." she explained. A fairly short story, but it was all that there was to it. Not glitz or glamour, or anything of the sort.

Tayva laughed a little at his thought about going out the way she had and finding himself a dragon. She didn't wish to offend him, but the very idea of a human going out and looking for a dragon alone was suicide. They might not eat humans that often, but they didn't care for their presence.
Before he could respond of look offended, she grinned a little sheepishly. "Sorry, it's just that it's not something that anyone could go do. Only those with the blood of dragons in their veins can communicate and bond with dragons. Anything else is suicide." she began to explain. "And that also answers your other question too. Those who have an ancestry close to dragons is called a 'Draconian'. As a Draconian, I have the ability to communicate with the dragon I've bonded with through linked minds. Sort of like telepathy to put it simple."
It was a little hard to fully understand what a draconian was without knowing their heritage. And even Tayva doesn't know the full story behind it. Perhaps it was time for her to get to learn a little more about her heritage. Perhaps her parents would know a little more than she would.
Leaning back in her position, she decided it was time for her to start asking the questions. "So what has you so interested in psychology? Not to prod too much or anything, but I am curious."

Tayva listened to the story in silence, wondering what her life would have been like if she had found love in high school, rather than following in the footsteps of her kin. She probably would have never met Talos, nor the kid before her, or anyone else in the world she considered a friend. Maybe her life would have been better if she chose a normal life, but there was no way it could have been as interesting. Not everyone got to fly around on a fire-breathing dragon after all. Yet the learning for the companionship never left her mind.
Tayva was glad that the had some sort of passion in his life, some form of direction to go to. Yet she couldn't help but wonder if his decision to go into psychology was the result of emotional baggage, wanting to try and make up for the things he had said that one night, and try to right the wrongs he had made.
"It sounds like an interesting story. Perhaps not the happiest of endings, but it could have been worse. But at least you get to live out your dreams and passions. Mine are impossible to reach." she replied with a weak smile.

Glancing up at the evening sky, which was obscured by the canopies that resided above them, Tayva thought back to the last moments she had seen Craig, before he disappeared into the night. He still had yet to hold his end of the deal, yet she couldn't help but wonder if he would ever fulfill his end. After all he was now a wanted criminal, and he probably wouldn't find the time to ever pay her back. "So much for that dream..." she thought to herself, before looking back down at Tyler, who seemed interested in what she had to say.
"I know it sounds stupid... but I've always wanted to fly on my own. It's hard to explain the desire to someone else, but when you're always around someone else who can do it with no trouble at all, you can't help but feel a little jealous. I had a friend who was supposed to help me achieve that dream... but after a brush with the law I fear I may never get that dream fulfilled."
It seemed almost heartbreaking for the girl to find herself feeling a little hopeless on the scenario, having been so close she could almost taste the success. Yet just like that, it seemed to have been snatched away. But she didn't wish to drag her new friend down with her woes.

The girl was a little confused as to what he meant by his words. How was she closer than she was before? Craig had straight up disappeared on her, and he was hinting that the possibility was close, but not yet ready. Did he know something that she did not? He didn't seem too interested in continuing further with an explanation however, and seemed to leave it at that as he went on about what it was that he wanted.
"There's no need to be embarrassed." Tayva reminded him, trying to figure out herself what it was that he could have wanted for when he died. It was something hard to think about of course, one's on mortality. And it almost sounded like he had been in peace with the idea of death. Even if it was an unavoidable part of the cycle of life, it wasn't something she wished to near, or even think about. It was just too soon to get into such thoughts, even if she had stared it in the face during the attack by the vampyres earlier.
"You can always tell me anything." she added, wanting him to be comfortable around her. If they were going to be friends, then she had to make sure that he didn't feel the need to hide anything from her. No matter how big or small the secret might have been.

Tayva cocked her head slightly at his answer, but decided to listen further as he began to explain his reasoning. Even if he didn't believe in the idea of evil, that was not a pleasant place to be. Although if he did not believe in evil, then he would not believe in a hell, but rather a state of purgatory, for hell was specific toward the deeds of others.
"That sounds... interesting, although it's a place I still would not wish to see for myself." Tayva concluded. "So do you mean to say you wish to confront the ideas of others of 'evil'? Or do you just want to find proof that it does not exist?" she asked, wanting to try her best to wrap her head around his way of thought. Even if it sounded unnatural, Tayva couldn't help but think that there was evil in the world. Not all things were good or bad by nature, but they were the way they were. It was only when someone decided the motive for their actions that a label could be designated for the action. If someone performed an action based out of love, then it was (normally) good. But a selfless act for self improvement without the consideration of others could not be good, so it needed a label.

"Forgiveness is one of the hardest things to accomplish sometimes." Tayva noted, looking at one of her arms, and the criss cross of different markings on her skin, where the scratches had healed up. She had survived the incident, but with mental scars that would follow her for the rest of her days. She knew that vampyres had no choice but to hunt and feed, but many were sentient beings, who had control over their actions. They could still feed, but they could still accomplish the act sensibly.
As for the mystery man during the encounter, she figured she would never understand his motives until she saw him again, or if she saw him again rather. The entire thing seemed like a game to her more than anything, and she had blacked out after that point to know what his true motivations had been. Perhaps he was just looking for a cheap thrill, or maybe there was something deeper involved.
"I can understand the vampyre's need to feed, but when it came to the man that had me attacked, I don't know if I could forgive him, only because I dont know why he did it. Without knowledge of motivation, I cannot decide for myself whether or not I would truly forgive the action."
