Stepping off the plane into the busy city of Jakarta, Kaarme looked around before following the crowd of people leading into the airport. Walking past men and women he took a few of the men's wallets and slipping them into his coat pockets as he made his way down to baggage claim. Watching the bags circle he grabbed his and slung it over his shoulder as he walked out of the airport. Getting into a waiting taxi he handed the driver a card with a address on it. As the driver drove to the destination Kaarme watched the world around him pass by quickly.
Closing his eyes he opened them to realize he lost track of time and was at the building. Handing the driver the money from a wallet to pay for it he got his bag and stepped out of the car. Walking up to the old building he opened the door and stepped inside, the old gym was still used by people training in Silat. Walking past some of the me he got some odd looks but ignored them as he smiled and raised his arms, greeting the old friend of his. Kaarme and the man patted each others backs before they took their seats on the couch. Kaarme handed the man a folded vanilla envelope with some documents in it. Kaarme sat quietly, sipping his coffee and watching the men practice as the older man read over the papers.
The tv off to the side was on the news, they were going over a possible hurricane coming their way but Kaarme paid no attention to it, the volume was to low and it wasn't in his direct line of sight. When the man was finished he handed Kaarme a small bag, taking the bag he stood up shook the mans hand and walked outside of the building, stopping out front he looked around before pulling out his phone and looking over the recent messages.

“Eli!” Rae yelled angrily at the dog as it got away from her. Whose dumb idea was it to get him a pet-passport so he could come all over the world with her? Seriously, whosever idea it was, well that person had been taking stupid pills. Since they had landed in Indonisia two days ago the dog had not settled, he barked all night, he chased every gecko or insect he could find and he was not content to wander alongside her anymore. She’d tried buying him a lead (something the dog had never needed) but he refused to behave and broke the leather with his teeth. “Eli.” She sighed, shaking her head and watching the dog as it bolted down the road chasing something deep within its imagination.
Eli, the little brown dog was about the size of a border collie, he was still young and Rae guessed he was maybe only a year or two old. He had followed her from America to Britain when she had decided to leave her Uncles house and return to London and since then the once-stray mutt had become Rae’s only steady companion, he tended to come everywhere with her. So when the opportunity arose for Rae to meet one of her father’s contacts here she had to find a way for the dog to come.
It was a warm day and Rae was dressed in light denim shorts, gladiator golden sandals that showed off her gorgeous and well-toned legs and a black-t-shirt with a Jack Daniels slogan across the back of it. Her rainbow-ed hair was tied up on the top of her head, held back by her sunglasses. She was starting to consider spending every winter in Oz, the weather was wonderful. Birds migrated…so maybe she should too?
“Eli, no!” She yelled at him, her accent british and gentle as she tried to call the dog back once more. Eli had other ideas as he jumped at the man with the long black hair, his tail wagging excitedly and sniffing at the man in search of some food. “Oh bloody hell.” Rae cussed under her breath coming over, slightly flushed from chasing the animal and more so from embarrassment. “I’m so sorry-“ she apologies, pulling the dog down by the scruff of the neck and holding him as he wiggled playfully. To the young dog it was all a game.

Jakarta, the capital and largest city of Indonesia. The country's economic, cultural and political centre, and with a huge population. It was one of the largest cities in the world. Still, despite the big bustly city, it was designated quite long ago by Stilia Medusa that she would visit this enormous city. It was filled with lovely statues and monuments, along with plenty of museums and anything else the curious gorgon-girl might require. She was one with wandering feet –although feet weren’t always the case – and she was drawn everywhere, in pursuit of new things. As far as she knew though, she was the only Gorgon who had dared leave their safe nest, abandoning all their friends and family, to see the world. Sometimes Stilia missed the other Medusas, but the sights she had seen never made her regret leaving. She wondered what the other Gorgons think must have happened to her.
Stilia seemed to have become a tad lost. She had a map in her pocket, but she didn’t want it to appear obvious. She was in a less-crowded part of the ever-busy city, and didn’t want to risk trouble. But then, something strange happened. A whiff of air and her sensitive nose quivered in surprise. Maybe it was because she was thinking of them, of her old home, that she could have sworn she smelt another gorgon. She sniffed the air again, and it was definitely recognizable. The sweet mixture of snake and human, with the aroma that make it unique and wonderful and the small tinge that indicated it was someone different then herself. She had almost forgotten the smell of her own people, only reminded by her own scent. Cautiously, she followed the smell. She did not run as she did not want her own scent to increase with sweat, nor did she want to disturb the air and lose the trail.
Stilia went through a few streets, until the scent became extremely strong. She stayed back, behind the corner, discreetly peaking around. There were people there, but only two looked like foreigners. A male and a female with her dog. Was one of them her Gorgonian kin? She watched, the one who was a Gorgon should be able to pick up her scent. She just needed to observe their reactions.

As he opened the small bag and took out the lighter he laughed and slipped it into his pocket as he rolled up the bag and put it in the trash can. He took a deep breath through his nostrils, a familiar and distinct smell was in the air. It smelled of the nest, his home, but why would he smell another gorgon in Indonesia, they didn't normally leave the protection of the nest. All of the thoughts were pushed to the back of his mind as a small dog jumped up at him wanting a treat. He looked at the dog and heard the woman calling for him. smiling before laughing a little he scratching him on the head and spoke. "Hello there pup, it sounds like your mother isn't to happy with you running off and jumping on people."
Looking over at the woman as she pulled the dog off he smiled and listened to her apologize in her British accent before speaking. "It's alright, don't worry about it. You might want to keep him on a leash though." As he finished speaking he caught another whiff of the gorgon scent. Turning his head down the street he caught a glimpse at a woman peaking around the corner. He looked back at the woman in front of him as he smiled and spoke. "You obviously are not from around here, what brings you to Jakarta?"

She flushed a little more and fussed Eli’s brown ears kissing the top of his head. “Naughty dog.” She complained to him. He was usually so obedient and usually behaved so well, but this place seemed to bring out the excited child in the young dog. At least he had attacked someone who did not seem to mind animals. It could have been a lot worse.
Rae found herself apologising again as she got Eli to sit and placed a biscuit on his nose. The dog sat stiff still, waiting for her command. See? He could be obedient and clever and well trained, as he sat statue still. “He just chews through it.” She commented softly, knowing the dog should be on a lead.
She paused looking up at him and rising from her bent position next to the dog as he commented that she wasn’t from around here. Rae shook her head, a simple curl of pale pink hair tumbling down and sitting along the curve of her collar bone. “We’re having our own adventure, aren’t we Eli?” She smiled, bright, young, a happy teenager.
At the sound of his name the dog flipped back his head, sending the treat into the air and catching it between his jaws. He lay on the paved ground crunching away happily. “We decided to get away from the cold, harsh winters and head south…like birds.” She explained, maintaining her act. It wasn’t like she could tell a complete stranger she was here to meet another hunter, was it? That would take some curious explanations. “We’re stopping off for a few weeks on our way to Australia.” She explained, happily, tourist like in her façade.

Stilia stood there and watched. She figured it probably looked suspicious for a person to just be watching from around a corner, but she didn’t know what to do. A mixture of logic, survival instinct, and a natural tendency to remain discreetly in the shadows told her that she should forget of it and continue on, before the other Gorgon- whichever person it was- saw her. But her curiosity was always a strong drive, and it had been years since she had met her own kind. Were they Medusan? Euryale? Stheno? She had only met one Euryale before, which had helped save her from the confinements of a cage, and never had she come across a Stheno. She couldn’t base on appearances, since the Gorgon had obviously acquired the same ability as her, becoming a human in appearance. She watched the two people as the dog jumped around excitedly, and she wondered if the dog could smell the gorgonian scent that hung around here.
The two were obviously conversing, the dog having served as some sort of icebreaker. And suddenly the man looked behind him, and made eye contact with Stilia. It was almost an unspoken ‘I know what you are’ look between them. It was too late for Stilia to change her mind and leave, she was much too curious as to why there was a Gorgon in Indonesia. Now she just had to decide what to do… She retracted her head from the view of the two strangers.
Stilia pulled out her map, unfolding it, and looking into it. She walked into the view, fully this time, pretending to look at her map. She lowered it, and feigned surprise when she spotted the two foreigners, with the dog sitting obediently with a treat of some sort on it’s nose. She walked over, putting a look of confusion on her face, but also one of wariness as if she were afraid to be rude. Just as the dog flipped up the treat and started eating it, Stilia came next to the foreigners, with a safe distance between them, but still short enough that it wouldn’t appear suspicious. She cleared her throat lightly, trying to catch attention. “Uh- Excuse me? I am sorry to bother you, but you look like you might speak English. Don’t really know much Indonesian, and I am a tad lost. Would you mind perhaps?”
Her eyes flickered between the two, but remained mainly on the Gorgon male, wondering what he would do. She had a weapon well hidden just in case though.

Watching the girl kiss the dog and speak to it he smiled. "Cute pup." The smell of the gorgon was still heavy in the air he knew she was still around the corner, what she was doing he was not sure. Did they seek him out or was this a coincidence. Kaarme didn't know and didn't want to take any chances. Glancing over every now and then to the corner where she was he still listened to the woman in front of him before speaking and looking at her. "He is trained enough must of just got a wild hair, oh well as long as he doesn't get you into to much trouble. What is taking you to Australia this time of year. Nasty storms brew in this part of the world."
Looking over he noticed the woman walking towards him, looking her over he couldn't see any visible weapons doesn't mean she didn't have any on her. Turning to face her when she cleared her throat to speak as she looked up from her map. He smiled at her words and laughed a little on the inside before speaking. "It looks like you might of found what you were searching for, but what else do you need help with?" He kept his eyes on the gorgon glancing over at the first woman every now and then.

What is taking you to Australia this time of year? He asked her and Rae just smiled simply. She was pretending to be nothing more than a girl on an adventure- which rang true on so many levels. “I’m taking a gap year from my schooling.” She told him, spinning another lie. “We’re travelling.”
Rae had been oblivious to the woman until she approached. This, had Rae known the two were not human, would been something she would scold herself about thoroughly. She was supposed to be training as a hunter and yet she continually broke the rules. She fraternised with the enemy and was continuing to make friends and associated with all sorts of people- people who were ultimately bad for her health. Of course, Rae couldn’t be blamed completely; there was nothing in the ‘Case File’ about Gorgons, and as the book was her bible it was understandable that she was missing large chunks of information about certain species. The other thing that was generally frowned upon from a hunters point of view was that Rae was beginning to feel like not all supernatural people weren’t that bad. Some of them…well, they were just misunderstood.
The woman, in Rae’s opinion was beautiful. She was alluring in her confusion and Rae frowned a little bit, a little touch of jealousy in her mood. Rae did not consider herself pretty in any way, and often when confronted with beautiful women she found herself wishing she was much more beautiful than her average appeal. Eli dropped his treat as the woman came over, and with a playful yap and bark he jumped at the girl. Once more, Rae pulled him back and made him sit. She did not understand what had gotten into him. The dog was usually so good, so well behaved. He was a whiz at reading people and often warned her of daemons and vampyres, but she had never seen him get this excited by anything other than his breakfast sausage.
“Eli, stop. Sit.” Rae grumbled, exasperated as once again she knelt beside the dog and held him in place. His whole body was vibrating with the shake of his tale. Something about these two was affecting his normal balance and sense. Maybe it was the heat going to his head; and she had thought that originally, but to jump up at two people? Heck, he rarely jumped up at her in such a pleased manner. No, there was something more here that was not being said- Rae just needed to work out what.

Keeping the smile on his face he watched her movements and how she acted. This woman seemed different he needed to be careful. Although curiosity always got the better of him. "Not many people travel to this part of the town, is there something specific you are looking for over here or are you just wandering? No real good food in this part of town, mostly just martial arts and prostitutes." The phone in his shirt pocket started to vibrate as the timed alarm went off. The smile disappeared from his face as he silently slipped the phone out of the pocket and turned off the alarm. Checking the time he quietly put it back into the pocket and smiled as he looked back at her.
The sound of cars and motorcycles driving by filled his ears while the scents of old cigarettes, beer, exhaust fumes, sweat and a fragrant perfume coming off the woman was all in the air. Though granted most of those came from men smoking and drinking on the top level above them. The sweat from the men inside practicing. He would never get used to the smells, he visited this place frequently but the smell is something he never could get used to. Though it doesn't help that he can smell better then a human. One thing he was envious of the human female for was the fact that she couldn't smell all of it so easily. He liked the smell of her perfume, it was nice.
Kaarme had to keep stopping his self from staring into her eyes for to long, they were beautiful but he needed to not scare her off. Speaking up quickly he said. "Would you like to sit?" His hand was raised towards two chairs next to a small table.

"Not many people travel to this part of the town, is there something specific you are looking for over here or are you just wandering? No real good food in this part of town, mostly just martial arts and prostitutes."
That, momentarily, made Rae frown. Though she supposed to some extend it made sense, she was here to meet another hunter; a contact of her fathers, and the centre for martial arts seemed like a somewhat fitting place, but he did not know that and his increased curiosity was becoming somewhat misfortunate for the both of them. How many times could she say she was just travelling? Wasn’t that part of a traveller’s charm? To venture into the places where other tourists did not? Still, she smiled and was saved from answering with his phone vibrating.
"Would you like to sit?"
It was a difficult question and not something Rae immediately expected to be confronted with. “Are you late for something?” Rae asked, gently, watching him as he watched her, “I wouldn’t want to take up your time.” She added; everything about her meek and pleasant. She, although she didn’t realise it, was somewhat easy on the eye. Her pale pink hair an interesting talking point but the colour, somehow, seemed to suit her more naturally than her original blonde features.
Her eyes went to the table he gestured and she smiled again, glancing down at her companion. Eli was chasing his tail and generally causing a nuisance, but the dog seemed relaxed, his sixth sense was not tingling and Rae did not think she had any real need to fear. “I mean, I don’t mind- I’d like that, if you wanted.” She finished, blushing once more in her dizzy sort of way.
Rae found it very easy to play this character. Happy-go-lucky, not a care in the world girl who was having fun and living each day as if it was her last, though, this was as far from her persona now than she could ever imagined. Rae was too careful about everything; and even as she agreed to sit with him her eyes glanced around the street for an ambush.

Stepping over to the chairs he sat down and crossed a leg over the other before fixing his shirt and hair as he sat back. The smile still plastered on his lips. The question if he was late for something or not made him laugh slightly before speaking. "Oh no, I would just be waking up right now back in America. I forgot to change my phones time. Sit, sit. Take a load off and relax. Today is a beautiful day, don't let it slip by you."
Watching her he could tell something was strange with her. Unable to figure out just what it was though he wanted to see if he could pinpoint just what it was. He believed she was clueless as to what he was, although her dog could tell something was different. "So you never told me what it was you were doing in this part of town." Reaching back he ran his fingers through his hair quickly to keep it straight, the action could be called overly compulsive disorder with how much he needed to do it to keep looking at his best.

He seemed very relaxed in his demeanour, despite his curiosity. Rae sat, unhooking her sunglasses from her hair and placing them over her eyes. It gave her an instant defence against his curiosity; if he could not see her eyes because of the reflective shades then he might not be able to easily tell her lie.
Rae was dressed in light denim shorts, gladiator golden sandals that showed off her gorgeous and well-toned legs (which she now crossed one of the other, almost in mimic of him) and a black-t-shirt with a Jack Daniels slogan across the back of it. She straightened her shirt and gave lone through to his question. What was she doing in this part of town? Well, it was rather hard to explain wasn’t it? She couldn’t tell him the truth and he didn’t seem to be buying her tourist excuses.
Eli came and crouched at her side, obedient enough to sit beside her and get a fuss. Her fingers reached down and stroked through his fur, wondering how he could stand this heat with his soft brown fur. His tongue lolled out and his Disney eyes seemed to sparkle with complete glee and excitement. She wondered, sometimes what the thoughts in his head were, she wondered, for once, if she could speak dog what he would say to her.
“I’m meeting a friend.” She told the stranger, adding. “My names Maria, by the way.”
It was not her name, it was her alias, it was the name she had been using to keep her identify protected from the wicked people of the world.

As she sat and put on the glasses he turned his head back and crossed both his hands on his lap. Looking up at the sky, the sun wasn't directly in front of them and there was no glare that he could see. So why did she put on the glasses he asked his self. She must be nervous, is he that scary? or was it all the questions he asking her. Why did she have something to be nervous about? was she here for drugs although she doesn't look like she does them, well maybe extacy but that was rare in this part of town.
He loved the rain, it was so refreshing and nice to feel in the hot climates he seemed to stay in. The water felt good on his scales when he could be in his true form. The human form he was in was starting to make him itch, he wanted to lay in the sun and stretch out. His leg unfolded and he sat up to pick off a small bit of hair off his pants and let it fly off in the small breeze.
Looking over at her he noticed the sandles and her legs, she easy on the eyes although he thought he was as well. As she pet the dog he shifted in his seat. Her words "Im meeting a friend." The way she puts it almost sounds like a scape goat. Looking over at her when she said her name he smiled once again and reached out to shake her hand as he spoke. "My name is Kaarme. Please don't let me hold you up if you have to be somewhere else. Although if you have to do any thing outside in a day or so id invest in a umbrella. A storms heading this way."

"My name is Kaarme. Please don't let me hold you up if you have to be somewhere else. Although if you have to do any thing outside in a day or so id invest in a umbrella. A storms heading this way."
“No, no.” She smiled. “I’m meeting my friend here, actually- we’re going in there.” And she pointed behind them, back to the path and to the martial arts building behind them. She didn’t understand much of the writing, Rae was not good with languages (a trip to France when she was thirteen taught her much) but she knew well enough that she was in the right place. It was a feeling she had. While part of her hoped that the hunter did not turn up while she was making small talk with the man, she also did not want to wait outside the building on her own.
“A storm huh?” She asked him with a smile. “I like storms- though the fork lighting we got in Chicago was unique.” She clearly did not have an American accent; it was another one of her little secrets. “Still, it needs to storm- the heats so…intense.” It was making a soft shine on her glossy skin.

He started to pick out all her lies that she has been telling, at least her bluffs. Her glasses when she didn't wear them before now, saying shes from Chicago although she has a English accent and shes finding a lot of security in having her dog by her side. He was curious as to why she was doing this.
"Oh good, seems we will be seeing a bit of each other today then. I'm going to be here for a while. I'm good friends with the owners." He listened to her speak about how she liked the storms, he laughed a little at her words of how intense the heat is here. The heat was nothing to what he was used to. Looking back over at her he glanced over her body quickly once again before looking at her in the eyes as best as he could, all he truly saw was his own reflection and the building behind him.
