Kogo walked with Adikartika back to the marketplace where they had first encountered the woman who had sent them on this quest. While just standing there, looking about for her, a hand shot out of the darkness and latched on to Adikartika. Kogo actually jumped back and let out a profane exclamation in surprise as the hand and voice materialized out of nowhere.
Standing back, recovering, while Adikartika did the talking, Kogo couldn't help but pick up on something odd that the old lady had said to his partner. "I am sure She will have memorized it." It made Kogo think of earlier when Adikartika mentioned someone else having seen the scroll even though they were the only two there. Kogo could no longer treat it as trivial when even this woman seemed to know about it. "Who is this she that you mentioned? And why are we even doing this for you?" Kogo asked of the old lady, hoping that he didn't come across as too rude in his words.

Adi looked between the two and sighed deeply. Shit was gonna hit the fan fast. Very fast. He glanced at Kogo and grimaced. "Wait a few minutes and you will meet here." He glanced back at the woman. "I also agree with him. Why are we going out of our way for you?" He raised an eyebrow at the female, tapping his foot and crossing his arms across his chest stubbornly.
The crone cackled and released his arm. "As payment for your help, how would you boys like some...power?" She cackled and waved her hands, flames trailing after her hands to prove her point she had some. Her point made she glanced at the sky, cooing. "Any second now..." A strong wind began to blow around them, kicking up dust and swirling it around them, the grit chaffing against their skin but the old lady didnt move or even blink, totally undaunted by the flying sand around them.

Kogo watched Adi look between him and the old lady, and the elemental followed his action, looking back and forth from the old lady to Adi. He was told to wait and he would meet this "she" that they mentioned. He then listened as Adikartika repeated his question and then put on an act of stubbornness or defiance, depending on how you looked at it; though in this case, it was probably stubbornness.
The old lady laughed and released Adikartika, asking the two if they would like to receive power. She then waved her hands, trails of flame following behind her wrinkled hands in order to prove her point of having power. Kogo scoffed slightly, growing impatient with the woman's secrecy, "I already have power." In order to prove his own point, Kogo made an orb of water appear next to his shoulder, and then turn into an orb of ice, still floating in the air right beside his shoulder. However, the orb fell as a strong gust of wind pushed it down and broke Kogo's subconscious control over it. As he looked up, he saw... Impossible, there was a dragon descending upon the three.
Kogo pulled up his shirt and placed his hands upon the hilts of his wakizashi, drawing the blades from their sheaths and staring at the descending dragon.

The old lady cackled as he lost his concenration and the orb fell to shatter upping the ground. She glanced up to the dragon and pushed Kogo's arms down, pushing the daggers down as well.
"I wouldn't of I was you....else you become a crispy snack!" She cackled more.
Evanesca landed beside Adi puffing slight, having flown the span of almost twenty miles in just a couple minutes. She glanced at the your male who had been accompanying Adi then quickly turned to the old lady. She growled softly, speaking to Adi who sighed.
Adi parted his lips and translated for his dragoness. "Eva wants to know what it is you are having us do, witch. She also would advise you remove your hands from our friend, and refrain from touching me. Ever again...." He glanced at Eva and rolled his eyes. Now was not the time for her quirks of jealousy, especially over a wrinkled old hag.

Kogo ignored the obviously half-senile woman's 'advice' and kept his blades drawn until he noticed how the dragon landed beside Adikartika and kept mostly silent. Deciding that the dragon was not a hostile, the elemental figured that it probably was smartest to get rid of his weapons which paled in comparison to the dragon's natural attributes, and re-sheathed his wakizashi.
Adikartika spoke about an 'Eva,' and Kogo wondered if that was the 'She' that the two mentioned earlier. A little bit slower than some, Kogo didn't piece together the obvious until Adikartika was done with his message to the old lady. The dragon was actually a dragoness, named Eva... And had some kind of relationship with Adikartika.
Not really sure if it was the right time, and most definitely not knowing how to deal with a dragoness, Kogo tentatively asked of Adikartika, "Excuse me, Adikartika... Is this dragoness the person who you were talking about earlier?"
Adi looked at Kogo as he asked about Eva being the person that who had been speaking of. He smiled and chuckled to himself nodding slowly. "Yea Kogo, this was who I was speaking of. She saw the scroll and has a much better memory then myself. Photographic almost. Her name is Evanesca. Evanesca, this is Kogoejini." Evanesca snorted, smoke curling from her nostrils slightly and nodded. She of course already knew exactly who Kogo was from having been paying attention to Adi's mind. Now she turned back to the strange female who had given them this strange mission, and narrowed one large eye at her and Adi spoke for her.
"Can we please get on with this stupid quest? I have the scroll and will recreate it through Adikartika and you can translate it. Paper and pen please?"
The old hag cackled and quickly vanished and reappeared almost seconds later, handing Adi a pen and large piece of parchment. Laying the paper upon the empty wooden table nearby he quickly began to sketch, the memory being given back to him by Evanesca and after seven or eight minutes he finished and handed the paper to the lady who ripped it from his hands, she began muttering to herself as she read the scroll, eagerly.
Finally finished, her hands burst in to flames and burnt the parchment once again sending their "precious" scroll blowing away as ash. She turned to them.
"Perfect!! Now we can gather our objects!! Are you boys ready for plenty of adventure and fun?" She cackled again and clapped her hands. "I need a few things before you boys can get your prizes!! Just a few, simple to get items. I need a scarab beetle from an Egyptian tomb, a whole saffron crocus from Crete, an ounce of brine salt from the Dead Sea, and a piece of electrum ore taken from the bottom of Lake Victoria. Should be simple enough gentlemen. Now I must bid you adieu as this old, weak lady has somethings to attend to. Hurry back gentlemen....and try not to get killed." She wandered away cackling like a madwoman and vanished in to the shadows.

Kogo bowed deeply in respect to the dragon, speaking to her with his face looking down at the ground, "Kogoejini Douten. Honor to meet you, Evanesca." Straightening up from his bow after feeling the hot air blow upon him from the dragoness' snort, Kogo kept a calm face despite the confusion he felt inside. What did a Western dragon snort mean?! What did any type of dragon snort mean? Had he gained her favor? Did she hold contempt for the elemental? Was she considered him as a snack for later?
Oh well, Adikartika had continued with his questioning the old lady. This time, they made an advance through it. The lady handed Adikartika some paper and a pen, and the other male, Kogo had no idea what he might be, began to re-draw the scroll's hieroglyphs. The lady snatched it from him once he was done and seemed to study the scroll.
Then she burned it.
It was the second time that night that the scroll had crumbled and blew away with the desert wind.
However, the woman seemed to have gotten what she needed from it. She gave the two males, and dragon?, a list of materials that they were to set out and collect. Not only a scroll, but also a bunch of other stuff? What was she planning with all of this? Before Kogo had the chance to ask, the old woman walked back into the shadows, laughing.
Kogo simply placed his hands into his pockets, trying to memorize what it was that they were supposed to be retrieving for her now. He turned to his partner... Partners now?, and spoke four simple words. "Should we start now?"
Adi groaned, slowly putting his face in to his left hand. He rubbed his temples slowly, even as Evanesa bobbed her head in returned to the ice elementals greeting. Adikartika looked up and nodded slowly. "Yes, I suppose we better getting moving on this. We had a long way to travel. However, she said that one item was a scarab beetle from an Egyptian tomb. We are here in Egypt already. Shall we go after that, or shall we save that for last?"
As he spoke, Evanesca spoke to him in his mind. ~Adi darling, we should get going and we have to pick up your stuff. Is this male going to hold us back?~
Adi looked at the male before him. "Kogo, do you have a way of keeping up? Some way of travel around that will allow you to move along with Eva and myself? Or will we need find transportation?" He really hoped his new 'friend' had a way to move with them. Adikartika couldn't stand modern day airplanes.

Kogo watched patiently as Adi went silent, the dragoness staring down at her partner. Kogo was wondering what was going on. Could they be communicating with one another in their minds? Kogo had heard of it happening before.
Suddenly, Adikartika spoke up and asked Kogo if he had a form of transportation that would allow him to move along with the other male and his dragoness. Kogo nodded his head, "I am able to fly," the elemental responded before looking up to the dragoness, "Though not as fast as a dragon, I am sure." He hoped that he would not get left behind by the two due to his relative lack of speed.
Adi chuckled as the male spoke. A strange mental image it was seeing this fellow young man flying through the air with no wings or form of support. However if it helped him move along faster with out having to wedge themselves inside a giant, flying tin can all the better. His speed might be of an issue, however Adikartika highly doubted it. Although Eva was fast for short distances, she and he had never really done any long distances for long periods of time. The male being smaller then Eva would consume less energy in flight, especially with out actually having to flap wings. He glanced at the sky. Kogo did not answer his question however...so he decided to make up their route himself.
"Alright....as the desert gets really hot we can hit the tombs first for that scarab beetle. Its nearby at least. Then we can look in to that brine salt from the Dead Sea because that isn't to far away either if I remember correctly." He nodded, glancing around and seeing nothing. He walked to Evanesca who held a foot out and he stepped on it then swung up on her neck and settled himself glancing at Kogo to see if he was ready before giving Evanesca the go ahead and she unfurled her wings and struck them down, launching the human male and dragoness in to the air.

Kogo wondered why the male was laughing as he spoke. Did he some sort of joke that he didn't even understand himself? Whatever it was, Adikartika looked up at the sky thoughtfully before speaking to Kogo once more.
The male spoke about the desert being hot and the scarab beetle being the closest item on their new list. Kogo had no idea what the temperature of the desert had to do with anything, but he didn't question the statement. So they had their first two items sorted, the beetle then the brine salt. Kogo nodded his head and watched at Adikartika mounted his dragon partner.
Leaping backwards off the ground upon the dragoness' initial wing stroke, the elemental levitated about seven inches off the ground. When the wind from the movement of the dragon's wings came, Kogo was unaffected by it and rose into the air at the mighty being's side. He looked over at Adikartika on the dragoness' back and flew in closer until he was close enough to reach out and touch the male. "I was wondering... Adikartika is a really long name. Is there anything else I can call you?"

Adikartika directed Evanesca across the desert. He pulled a small pamphlet out of his pocket, a simple piece of trash handed to him by a side street vendor earlier that day. He gently opened it against one of Evanesca's spines, and glanced back through the pamphlet until he came to the a specific spot. A casual comment with in the pamphlet mentioned a newly unearthed and opened Egyptian tomb. Not of anybody seriously major, some princess or cousin or another. However a tomb was all Adi needed. He waded the pamphlet up grinning and directed Evanesca in the direction of the tomb.
Hearing Kogo's question in his ears despite the heavy wings, he glanced over at the flying male and smiled. It was indeed strange to see the male simply floating along in the air, keeping pace with his dragoness. He glanced ahead to check their direction, then turned back to the male. "Many of my friends call me Adi, instead of Adikartika. Evanesca....well she has a shortened version but she refuses to let anybody call her that except myself and one other. I am sorry. She simply doesn't trust easy." Evanesca snorted loudly and smoke puffed from her nostrils to punctuate the sentence Adi had spoken to the other male.

Kogo watched as the male looked up from his map, staring at the elemental slightly before replying. Adi, huh? It had a nice enough ring to it. Kogo smiled as Adi explained that the dragoness was to continue being called Evanesca, "Oh, of course. I wouldn't even dream of being so rude to a dragoness." Right on cue, Evanesca snorted loudly and smoke billowed from her nostrils, flowing back into the wind. Due to the placement of her nostrils, the smoke did not flow over her head, keeping Adi unharmed by it, however it did affect Kogo on her side. The elemental fell back a little, coughing and trying to wipe tears from his eyes.
Recovering from the blast of smoke, the elemental tried to put on speed in order to make up for lost distance. However, he was only to keep a distance of about ten feet behind the dragoness without overexerting himself. He saw a small site in the distance a bit. Ropes and canvas covering areas with tables surrounding an opening in the ground, and tents a bit of the way off. It looked like an excavation site, and Kogo wondered to himself if this was were they were headed.

Adikartika looked back as the smoke blew in to Kogo's face and even began to reprimand his dragoness, however she had already slowed down to allow the other male to keep up with them. She was truly sorry for that, not use to having somebody flying beside them instead of upon her back. She tried to angle her wings to beat some wind back and blow the smoke from his face as well. However soon enough they where upon the site they where looking for, and she locked her wings and slowly glided in circles that quickly became tighter as she dropped then landed softly in the sand with nothing more then a hiss of slithering sand particles and a small gust of wind from her last downward stroke.
Adi slid from her back, and glanced around. There where sure to be guards they would have to sneak past or incapacitate who where keeping grave robbers away from the new found tomb. He drew his pistol, praying he wouldn't have to fire the weapon. It would be loud, obnoxious, and instantly give away the fact they where there. Also, he hated hurting innocent people no matter what the reason. So he would have to attempt to simply keep the weapon as a last resort. He glanced over and waited for Kogo to situate himself then whispered just barely giving the male a chance to hear him. "Any ideas of getting inside?"

Kogo landed beside the dragoness and Adi, looking out at the excavation site that seemed to indeed be their target. Staring at their target, trying to spy out any one who might be up and out for any reason, Kogo barely heard Adi above the night winds. Looking at the site for a small while longer while trying to think up a plan, the elemental then turned back towards Adi and noticed the pistol in the male's hand.
Growing up in a family descended from samurai, with a father who was a complete sword freak, Kogo disapproved of the use of guns and generally didn't like them. He stared at the firearm disdainfully, "Put that thing away. It's only going to draw attention to us if you use it." Instead, the elemental drew his blades and began to move silently towards the site. The male was already in control of a mass of water vapor floating about in the air, ready to use it at a moment's notice as he crept forward.
