Eiolo
theme song:;
"Feathery Wings" by Voltaire
description:;
Eiolo is by nature a compassionate soul, particularly for the human race.He sees them as the weakest species and the most unfortunate to have to deal periodically with the bloodthirsty things that hurt or kill them on a daily basis. He wears a mask made of bone that covers most of his face, leaving only his eyes and mouth area visible. His body is covered in a very thick, extremely pale, harder than bone-like "skin", and much like other Reapers he is emaciated.When on the lookout for injured people etc., Eiolo is seen with a black ritual ash smeared on his skin, particularly on his arms, chest, and on the skull mask he wears. (He cleanses it each time between rituals). He suffers from a disease in which coughing fits and muscle aches are a constant thing; and unfortunately this will eventually proved fatal for him. He stands at 6'5" with a bit of a hunched spine and even suffers a bit of paralysis in his left arm.

background:;
The circumstances under which Eiolo were born are mysterious. For the first three years of his life, he was never allowed to meet his parents and lacked a name and stayed with a tribal elder in the darkest parts of Africa. It was later revealed to him that this was their Reaper's way. He was taken in the night by his birth parents, without any explanation (the tribe from which they took him from was one that revered them as "spirits" of Loa, or Gods); moreover, they gave him the name of Eiolo, "Worthy Lord" by some, "changeable, nimble" by others depending on how it was spelled. The actual name itself was of unknown origins.
His parents were part of an ever traveling small group of Reapers, paying visits to various tribes around Africa to aid those in need, primarily with healing techniques and the like. It wasn't until his parents encountered the slave trading that they felt their work in Africa was not efficient enough; thus they placed their hopes on the Loa and snuck their teenage son aboard a large slave vessel and told him he would be guided to do the right thing once he reached its destination. They knew the ship was heading for Haiti, their homeland, and told Eiolo that they were unable to leave.
So off he went, and once he set foot onto Haiti, he met many people, and spent many years perfecting his art of helping others with the herbs and rituals he learned from his parents. He adopted their religion of Vodun and was quickly accepted by the locals as their savior of sorts. It was only recently that he was accepted as a Bokor, a priest that communed with the Loa, and assisted the unfortunate. In addition, he came into contact with black mare. Where she came from was a mystery, and Eiolo was convinced the Loa had something to do with it. He took the mare in as his own, and named her Dust. Wherever the wind blew, she followed--her former owner trained her well.
It was as if she had shown up at the proper time, for not too long after, Eiolo started to become very sickly and part of his illness made it difficult for him to stand for very long (not to mention it is slowly killing him). Unbeknownst to him, his sickness was always there, just waiting for the opportune time to show itself. Though the Reaper still continued his work in Haiti and didn't once ask the Loa to help him cure himself--no, he was to serve them without expecting anything more...they had "sent" him Dust and that would be all the help he would need.
When he isn't actively searching for those in need, he spends time meditating, cleansing his soul and mind, or researching knowledge on various topics.

Eiolo speaks Haitian-Creole, French, Setswana, and English. He currently does not worship any "true Gods" because he is quite set to believe the Loa are his only gods/goddesses.
