Artur Dracul Tepes
theme song:;
Forsaken by Disturbed
description:;
A cold-blooded killer, practically programmed for killing by the Blue Rose syndicate. His previously unwavering loyalty came from a desire to "save and better" the vampire race, but when the Blue Rose started using less than ideal methods for gaining new recruits, Zero began to question the legitimacy of the syndicate's intentions. Draconic is often a good word to describe him, as being both a vampire & an aristocrat has given him a “holier than thou” attitude.

Artur Tepes, now known as Zero, can trace his blue blood through both of his parents. His father, being a relation to Vladimir Tepes III, and his mother of Chinese descent, was married to his father to increase trade relations. Despite taking after his mother for his vampiric ability, he recognized his role as the link between two powerful vampire bloodlines & adapted to be able to drain life force like his father’s line can.
He was raised as a typical aristocrat throughout most of his younger life, until his family was approached about joining a new organization that was assembling to eliminate the human threat of hunters towards vampires. Initially, they refused. However, when the castle of Vlad Tepes III was infiltrated and searched on the claims that Vlad the Impaler was still alive as a vampire and controlling the country from the shadows (later confirmed that he was indeed dead by the point of the raid.) The scare convinced Artur’s parents to join the newly-founded “Blue Roses,” and they put up their sun to join the cause.
In order to keep people from getting suspicious as to where the young aristocrat had gone, a falsified assassination attempt was created. In this attempt, his father was supposed to be targeted by an “unknown” assailant with a poisoned blow dart. His son Artur, seeing the assailant too late to keep him from firing, would instead leap in front of his father, taking the dart himself. He would be pronounced dead by the father, and the corpse was to be taken out by Blue Rose members, who were planted into the family’s work force before the attempt was made. In truth, the “poison” was a strong paralytic, putting the young aristocrat into a near-death state. He was taken far away, so that no one would recognize him, and his training under the Roses’ maiden program “Project Toxic” began.
During his training, any sort of compassion or sympathy for humans was replaced with hatred for their atrocities towards their natural betters. His name was changed to “Tohksyc Zero,” to make him and his “Righteous fury” an impersonal, personified force. His proficiency in weapons was increased several times, and he was taught to use his energy draining ability offensively as a way to slow down his enemy. Although he was taught to use all of his weapons and abilities to their fullest extent, he still reserved his true vampiric ability as a weapon of last resort.
When he was finally allowed to make his first hunter kill, he was disarmed by his prey. Before his teacher could intervene, however, the hunter’s head was crushed by the helmet that was supposed to protect it. The second time he was allowed to hunt the hunters, he followed them into a house, confronted them too early, and was once again disarmed. To avoid the hunter, he dumped a barrel of fat (used to light torches) in between them. When the hunter walked into it, Artur, whose name was changed to Zero at this point, commanded the fire from a nearby torch to “attack” the hunter. The fat lit, and the hunter was burned beyond saving. With these shortcomings and new strengths being discovered, a new regiment was created for him to use these new abilities, and a new weapon was created for him; the metal sleeve that he still wears to this day, which can be changed by him to simulate different kinds of weaponry. After these changes, his success rate skyrocketed.
Zero had come to trust the Blue Roses, and he killed for their cause. Things went smoothly, for a time. However, the Blue Roses became more and more aggressive and heinous in their “recruitment” methods, initially going so far as kidnapping and brainwashing vampires. This shook Zero’s trust in them, but only slightly, and he convinced himself that it was for the best. His belief was finally starting to wane when they began to bring in vampires who weren't entirely vampires. Dhampir and Turned vampires were brought in, and Zero, being the zealot that they made them, began to object to the introduction of such “impure” vampires into the program.
The introduction of Ace into the project further complicated things. Their rivalry resulted in a number of conflicts between the two, and eventually they had to be kept away from each other. Their rivalry came to a head when Ace broke most of the members of Project Toxic from the facility that they were being held in.
Excerpt from Remember the 1800’s:
Slowly Ace walked up to Zero and Rage's rooms, they were put under IVs tonight and were positioned at the door. Doctors fought doctors as Ace killed one more after him, slowly he opened Zero's door first and looked at him for a long time. "I hate you... I would kill you.. but... You will suffer... you are weak and useless to me so here, you will stay...." Zero had enough in him to remove any ability to walk or talk yet the rage in his eyes is enough to make him smile.
Zero was fully awake during this time, but the IV that he was put on made it so that he couldn’t react to Ace. Zero saw this as what it was: an insult. His aristocratic side, which was still deeply seated in his mind, would NOT let this insult go unanswered. After this point, Ace became a White Whale of sorts to Zero, and eventually he would go so far as to force himself onto missions that there was a possibility that Ace was there. Eventually, Zero’s pride outweighed his loyalty to the Blue Roses, and he left them to search for Ace himself. Even now, he still searches for Ace to avenge the pride of his dominant, aristocratic side.

Zero is weak to Redwood.
Despite being physically fit, Zero has a number of issues that inhibit him. He suffers from an accelerated metabolism, meaning that he requires an almost constant supply of sugar, usually in the form of candies like Nerds, MM's, and the like. He also suffers from arithmomania, which almost demands that he constantly count things. The old wife's tale that vampires can be stopped from pursuing you by dropping seeds or rice grain would work on Zero. Lastly, Zero is rather musically inclined, going so far as to pervert children's songs into more bloodied versions.
