It was a slightly overcast day in New York- or rather Eww York- making it not so terrible. The sweet smell of smog and car fumes blanketed the city, while the smell of rotten eggs clung to Cassidy. Rummaging in the trash, she'd accidentally squished a rotten egg sandwich, and couldn't quite get it off her shoe. But that didn't hinder her as she continued her dumpster diving.
"Fucking hell," she grumbled to nobody, inspecting an old lightbulb. Crashing it open on the side of the dumpster, she disposed of the glass before sticking the remaining pieces into a bag slung on her shoulder. It held a collection of wires, metals and other miscellaneous items that she thought might come in handy. She brushed her fingers through her short hair, leaving behind little bits of... Something.
Leaping out of the dumpster with one quick and practiced motion, her shoes made hollow slaps on the pavement. She was sick of scrounging, it'd been months since her last job and she had no cash. She desperately wanted to get out of New York, wary of being so close to home, but knew that there were plenty of employers here. Sitting down and leaning against the dumpster, she dumped her bag of treasures out in front of her. She started shifting through the pieces before removing the small toolbox that was in the pocket of the bag. And so, covered in garbage on the cloudy New York day, she began to tinker with old clocks and radios on the side of a dumpster in an alley. Not exactly the most glorious of beginnings to a day, but certainly one she had often.

New York, one of the largest scum holes on earth, the definition of asshole has New Yorkers under it. Sighing heavily Rurik walked through the streets with the crowds. Getting annoyed with the large amounts of people he decided to take the alleys and side streets to his destination. Knocking on the back door a man opened up, Rurik stayed quiet and pulled out his ID and showed it to the man before being allowed in. Taking his ID back he slipped past the man and headed up stairs with his suitcase. Finding large double doors he simply pushed them open as he walked inside. Looking around in the room he saw a group of men and a woman, the men all turned to face him as he walked up to them and saying. "John, its been far to long. You need to tell me about your legs before they get to the point you can't walk. I would of fixed them weeks ago." Setting the suitcase down and opening it he revealed a pair of cybernetic legs covered in synthetic skin. Pulling out the tools he will need he walked over to the man in the wheel chair and kneeled down, quickly going to work on the legs. Peeling the synthetic skin back to reveal the leg he quickly started dismantling the legs, when they came off he set them aside and pulled the new legs over. Connecting the wires and attaching the leg he pulled the skin tight and sealed it against its self before patting the knee and standing up. "Give it a try, you should be good for a long while now."
Rurik quietly put the old legs in the suitcase as he listened to the man get up and walk around before expressing his love for Rurik in Russian. Rurik had given him one of the original sets of cybernetic legs he ever made a few years ago giving this Russian mob boss the ability to walk again after he lost his legs from a flesh eating bacteria. Rurik smiled and patted the mans shoulders before shaking his hand, closing the suitcase and picking it up. Walking out of the room he simple raised his hand to wave and said. "Remember to keep sending me more jobs or ill set the legs to explode!" Smirking he turned around and said to the man. "Im joking.. Or am I?" Before closing the doors and quickly walking down the stairs and out the back door.
Pulling his phone out of his pocket he looked at the time and date and the timer that said ", 22h, 45m, 37s" Sighing heavily as he looked at it he slipped the phone into his pocket again and started walking down the alley. Rurik just wanted to get home so he could sleep and finish his next project after waking up a few days later. As he walked down the alleys and avoided human contact as much as possible he saw a girl hop out of a dumpster and sit against it before she started tinkering with something. Walking towards her slowly he stopped about ten feet away from her and looked at her, watching her as she worked silently. He blended in well with the shadows as he was wearing his usual all black and hardly any of his skin was showing other then most of his face. His scarf as usual covered a part of his mouth. He wouldn't be surprised if she hadn't noticed him walking up to her, he tried to stay out of every ones way and most of the time even their thoughts.
It was pointless to him to draw attention to his self. This girl however in front of him was something different, her hair color and fashion choices stated she wanted to stand out from every one else. The fact that she was covered in filth was another give away that she probably just didn't give a fuck. Watching her tinker gave him flashbacks of when he was younger, finding any thing he can and taking it apart.

By the time Rurik had arrived, Cassidy had already been sitting there a few hours. She had been overcome with frustration, for something wasn`t right. A small robot had been built from the scraps, nothing more than a toy, but it had a god-fucking-awful tendency to not go to the right. This is what she was playing with when the stranger came to watch her. Messing with it a little more, she placed it on the ground and let it begin walking. However, her little creation happened to walk towards Rurik, and that is when she noticed the pale face among the shadows.
“Sweet fucking Mary and Joseph!” She screamed, bouncing up onto her feet. She put her hand in her back pocket, where she had the Taser gun stored. “Who the fuckidy fuck are you and how long have you been there?” She was still yelling, however more in anger than out of fear. “You know what? I don’t give two shits. Scram you old creep.”
As she yelled, her little robot tried walking to the right, and managed to just fall over near the stranger’s feet. She screamed in frustration, kicking one of her spare bits. “Motherfucking robot!”

He watched her as she built the small robot out of scrap parts, he was impressed with her ability as not many people could do that. His eyes were fixed on her hands and the robot as she worked. He stood there silently as she placed it on the ground and it walked he watched it until she screamed. “Sweet fucking Mary and Joseph!” Looking up a little at her he remained silent and still as she jumped up and reached for something behind her. “Who the fuckidy fuck are you and how long have you been there?” “You know what? I don’t give two shits. Scram you old creep.” She yelled at him, as the robot walked up to his feet it fell over and she screamed in frustration. Looking at her then the robot he slowly pulled his left hand out of his pocket as he crouched down and grabbed it. Glancing at its right leg he nodded slightly before laying the suitcase down and opening it with his right hand. Revealing the legs he pulled out a small screw driver from a compartment and closed the case. Still crouched down he tightened a few screws and loosen a few before sliding the screw driver inside and using it to bend a small piece of the metal in its leg. Pulling the screw driver out he set the robot down and faced it towards her before letting it walk. Watching as it slowly turned to the right on its own and without falling, although it was a little wobbly still but that was common in small toy robots.
He watched it before looking at her and a slight smile appeared on his face before he turned and opened the case again to slip the screw driver inside it. Closing the case he locked it and grabbed the handle. Standing up slowly he slipped his hand into his left pocket and looked at her before speaking. "The bar was slightly to long, just needed to be bent was all, or shortened but bending is quicker. I'm not that old.. I'm only... Huh.." Pulling the phone from his pocket he pushed the home button and saw the date before thinking for a second and saying. "25? Yeah.. Sounds about right.. Any ways, i'm impressed with the robot. What else can you do?"

Cassidy was steaming with anger, barely paying attention to the weird ass stranger. However, when she heard a click, she instantly snapped her eyes towards him, afraid of a gun. Was this weirdo going to mug her? She had no money anyways. Rape her? Gun or no gun she would quick this guy's ass. But no, he was merely opening up a god damned suitcase. She nearly lost interest again until she noted he was holding her little failure of a robot, and that there was a strange package in his bag. Where those mechanical... Legs? She didn't have time to confirm before he took what he needed and closed it.
She watched, surprisingly silent and curious. He was fiddling with her toy, before putting it back down and letting it walk. Although wobbly, it completed its purposeless task. Finally, he spoke. He informed her of what she should have done and she scowled, grumbling to herself. "I would have gotten it if I didn't only have god damned trash to work with."
He had to check his fucking phone to check his age? She laughed slightly. How caught up in his own little world was he that he wasn't aware of the year. Even after checking he didn't seem sure!
However, when he asked her what else she could do, she instantly became more serious. She brushed her grimy fingers through her hair, hoping to land a job. "I'm an inventor. Skilled with computers as well, I can do any sort of job." She wasn't sure if he was interested in criminal work or not, so she didn't specify. "Just get me some better tools and I could beat anyone with a fancy university degree in this shit-uh-stuff."
She quickly corrected herself, figuring it wasn't very businesslike to swear. "My price is reasonable, but it all depends on the work, if your interested. Oh, and the name's Fox."

He watched her and listened as she spoke. "I would have gotten it if I didn't only have god damned trash to work with." He thought for a second before speaking up. "Then why do you use trash? If you go to the right people you wouldn't have to." Scratching his cheek he cracked his neck and let of a sigh of relief before closing his eyes for a few seconds. He opened his eyes when she answered his question to what she can do. nodding he pulled out his phone and looked at the time before saying. "Lets put you to the test.. If you can complete this with me ill give you a job." Walking past her slowly he beckoned her to follow him as he walked out of the alley and around the corner, heading down the street to a small cafe in front of a large bank.
He walked inside slowly and looked around briefly before holding the door open long enough for her to slip inside before he let go of it and let it shut. Walking over to a table he sat down. A waitress came over and greeted them before asking if they want any thing. He said "Chai latte with no water" before he pulled out a ten dollar bill from his pocket and set it on the table. "Also what ever she wants." He pulled over a chair and set the briefcase on it before flipping it over and opening the other side of it. Pulling out a laptop he set it on the table and closed his briefcase. Opening the laptop he turned it on and let it boot up quickly before closing the lid a little and yawning.

He asked her why she didn`t just ‘Find the right people’, and not use trash, like she had a choice in the matter. “’Cause I don’t fucking know anybody and don’t have any money.” She grumbled to herself; however she doubted he heard her. But he moved on, wanting to test her abilities before hiring her. She grinned and flicked a stray piece of hair back into place, confident in her abilities. She just hoped this guy paid well. He looked foreign and rich, so she’d probably gotten a break here. She was wary, living on the streets tended to heighten your caution, however she still followed him out of the alley and into the cafe. The smell of fresh baked bread reached her nose, causing her stomach to rumble. God, when was the last time she’d had a pastry that wasn’t stale? She eagerly sat down at the table with him, however she was distracted. She kept looking around at all the other people, at their delicious food and their happy faces. Her attention was only caught when he said “Also whatever she wants.”
She grinned. Oh, he shouldn’t have done that. “I’ll have a chocolate milkshake, a cherry coke, a chocolate cheesecake, three pancakes and some bacon and eggs, sunny side up. Oh, and some toast- white, and very buttery.”
The waitress looked at the skinny girl in disbelief, before doing some overly-cheery ok and moving on. Cassidy cast a casual glance at the ten on the table, then to Rurik. “You’ll probably need more than that. Now, what is it you want me to do?”
Post by Rurik Sokol on Mar 8, 2014 21:32:19 GMT -5
He listened to the girl state off what she wants to eat and drink, looking at her he raised his eyebrow and heard the waitress say okay before walking off. He Nodded to her after she said he would need to put out more than a ten. Pulling out his wallet he put the ten back before pulling out a fifty dollar bill and setting it on the table. Putting his wallet away he opened his laptop and began typing. Pulling up schematics for the bank across the street he scooting the laptop and the chair over and sat next to her. Setting the laptop down he said. "Find me the best way to shut the power down to this building. Just press the arrow keys to see different views and layers, wiring, etc. This is the first part of your test." He said before sliding the laptop over to her and leaning back. As he was leaning back he looked at her hands a second and froze before realizing she was covered in filth. Quickly sliding the laptop back he reached into his pocket and pulled out a wet nap, ripping open the protective case he pulled it out and handed it to her. "Use this first.."
He slowly slid the laptop back over to her as he handed her the napkin. "Oh, yes.. My name is Rurik by the way. I forgot to mention it earlier." Nodding to her he leaned back again and crossed his arms as he closed his eyes and rested while he could.

She watched silently, a slightly smug smile on her face, as he replaced the ten with a fifty. He remained silent on the matter, so Cassidy had to award him some credit. He merely pulled out his laptop, worked on it a brief moment, before handing it over to her. “ Find me the best way to shut the power down to this building. Just press the arrow keys to see different views and layers, wiring, etc. This is the first part of your test.”
For a moment he suddenly grabbed the laptop again, causing a “Hey!” of protest. She scowled. “What? Have to delete the pornographic photos before I can look? You can hide them but I can find them.”
He handed her a wet wipe and instructed her to use it, which she did with a groan, before pushing the laptop back towards her and introducing himself and closing his eyes. She didn’t reply, merely began skimming through the schematics of the bank. It was a simple task, really. She looked to him. “Are you kidding me? This is child’s play. Just hack the system and close the electricity on the whole block. That way it wouldn’t look suspicious that only one building has their power off.”
The waitress came over, giving them their food. When she asked if that was all, Cassidy ordered a plate of fries before beginning to sip away at her Cherry Coke.

He smiled as he heard her speak. “Are you kidding me? This is child’s play. Just hack the system and close the electricity on the whole block. That way it wouldn't look suspicious that only one building has their power off.” He waited for the waitress that walked up to leave before he sat up straight and opened his eyes before standing up and saying. "Wait till my signal but have it ready before I get in the building." Fixing his coat he picked off a piece of lint before he silently walked around the table and out of the cafe. He simply walked over to the cross walk, pressing the button with his index finger he slipped his hands into his pockets as he waited. People gathered around him all waiting to cross the street. When the light signaled for them to walk he silently walked with every one else until they got across the street. Making his way up the stairs and into the building he pulled out his phone and checked the time.
Walking over and sitting down he picked up a magazine and started reading it as he waited when he saw a woman wearing a suit walking towards him he put down the magazine and pulled out his phone, sending a message to the computer it would pop up reading. "Now." He quietly talked to the woman about wanting to set up an account with them. He faked interest as he waited for the power to go out then he would make his move.

Cassidy was busy dipping her toast into her egg yolk and shoving it into her mouth, but heard what Rurik said and waved him off. “Yeahmmmhyeah.” She mumbled, the toast making her cheeks look like a squirrel collecting nuts. She watched him walk down the street towards the bank, washing the eggs down with the Cherry Coke. She sat for a moment and ate the rest of the food, finishing all the bacon, pancakes, cheesecake and more within ten minutes. She pulled the laptop towards her, and didn’t even blink in surprise when a message saying ‘Now’ popped onto her screen.
Her buttery fingers danced across the keyboard, quickly hacking into the system as if she’d done it a thousand times before. Which, in a way, she had. The power was cut; the dinner went black as well as every other building in the area. She was bored, and so, packed up the laptop and began walking across the street. She slipped into the bank, and tapped on Rurik’s shoulder, interrupting his little talk with the woman. “Oh Sir you forgot this in the restaurant.” She said, smiling sweetly, the triumph clearly written on her face.

Watching as the lights went out and the room started to question what was happening. Men and women came out of the back rooms and started asking whats going on. Rurik smiled when he stood up and heard the girl tell him he forgot the laptop at the restaurant. Taking it from her he thanked her before pulling out his pistol and aiming it at the clerks head. "Walk over and press the alarm please. I Will only ask this once from you." The woman was shaking and panicking but she pressed the button under the table. The silent alarm was triggered. Now the fun part began. He smiled and bowed his head slightly to the woman before lowering his gun to her arm and pulling the trigger. The bullet went through her soft flesh, missing the bone he listened to her scream and fall to her knees. Turning to look at his new apprentice he motioned for her to follow with his head as he climbed up over to counter and hoped onto the other side. "Heres your next task. Get the vault door to open with the laptop. You have..." looking over at the clock he said. "3 minutes before the police arrive. Think you can do it?" Holding the laptops case up for her to take he waited to see what she would do. He wondered if she even knew how or that the quickest way was to find the bank manager and take his keys.
He simply waited to see what she would do, he lifted and aimed his pistol at any one trying to move. Watching someone pull out a cellphone and start dialing 911 he took aim and fired, hitting the cellphone and the mans hand. "Try doing any thing and a bullet will be the least of your worries. If you all remain calm and just sit there, nothing will happen to you. Im not trying to steal your money, hell its not even the banks money!" He leaned against a desk and yawned, looking down he saw a cup of coffee, untouched. He set down his gun and picked up the cup, taking a sip of the warm liquid.

Cassidy grinned as Rurik pulled out his pistol, holding it to the clerk’s head. He seemed so calm, as if he’d done this sort of thing before. She wondered what her wanted poster would look like- god did that sound so Old West cliché. She wondered why he had the woman press the alarm, shortening their time. He turned to Cassidy, giving her the laptop and instructions. “Sure thing Boss-a-roo.”
Taking the laptop, she walked up to a fat looking man, cowering behind others. He was well dressed, his hair slicked back and looking greasy. She looked down at him. “Pathetic. Now, you heard the man. Give it to me.”
“I do-don’t know what you’re talking about.” He stuttered out, trying to discreetly crawl away. It wasn’t working, he was as graceful and sneaky as a rampaging elephant in a shopping mall. Cassidy sighed.
“Well, Boss-a-roo did say to use the laptop...” Lifting it above her head, she smashed it into the fat man’s, before rummaging his pockets and around his neck. Pulling out the keys, she walked back to Rurik and grinned, before going over to insert the keys in the slot and opening the door.

Drinking his coffee and watching Cassidy work he nodded as the door opened. "Good job" he said as he picked up his pistol and holstered it before setting down the cup of coffee. Walking over and into the room he glanced at all of the safe boxes. Reaching into the laptop bag he pulled out a block of c4 and knelt down to set it in the middle of the room. Standing back up he smiled, turned and looked at Cassidy. "I believe its time for us to be heading out now." Walking past her he pulled a detonator out of his pocket slowly he pushed the door closed and and walked past the counters and out of the building. As he walked down the steps he handed the detonator over to Cassidy and told her to press it. The blast would be concealed to only the room so no harm would come to the people in the bank. Hearing the sound of sirens he pulled out his pistol and aimed it down the road at the police. Firing at the cars he aimed for the tires, it took 6 shots but he managed to shoot out one of the lead cars tires. He looked over at Cassidy and said. "Lets get moving, there will be a bit of a chase until we get to the helicopter." Laptop case and pistol in hands he quickly started walking down the street towards where he parked his car. He spoke out to Cassidy and said. "Never thought your day would go like this now did you."

Cassidy grinned at the small praise from Rurik. She watched the hostages while he set up the C4, humming Lily Allen and mumbling along only to the extravagant amount of ‘fuck you’s. Finally Rurik was finished (although it didn’t really take much time), and told her it was time to head out. She nodded and followed him out, grinning wildly when she received the detonator.
“Aww, you’re spoiling me Boss-a-roo. I’m touched.” Letting out something that sounded suspiciously like an evil chuckle, she pressed the button and listened to the boom. As Rurik kept talking, her grin grew wider and wider until it was practically splitting her face. “Well of course! I’d be very disappointed if there wasn’t a chase. But this day is much better than I expected. Let’s go!”
She sprinted over to Rurik’s car, beating him due to his brisk walk. She clambered into the passenger’s seat and waited for the driver.
