Nysa is known as the Goddess of Life, thereby having the continent named after her. She created the continent of Nysa to make a land where her beloved species may grow. Nysa emerged from the sea, creating the island from a volcano. She controlled the flow of the lava as if it were a dance, before petrifying herself in it as to make it dormant once she was finished. A graceful figure, caught in the same dance of creation, lays trapped in stone, keeping the volcano from ever destroying what it created. This huge statue is guarded preciously by a mysterious spirit of fire. The manifestation of Nysa’s power, and the first being born on the island, from the lava itself. As the volcano holds most of Nysa’s spirit, he cannot let it come to harm, serving his mother eternally. Nysa is a Goddess of many faces, and many bodies. She could not simply leave her island a large hunk of rock. So, next, Nysa made things grow, and allows that her spirit lives on through the plants and animals, causing the wooden depiction to appear, creating her face once more in the island. This wooden depiction seems almost alive, unlike any other representation of Nysa. Nestled away safely in the forest, it is often used as a place of worship by the Chlorai. The guardian of the jungle shrine seems dormant, his figure sunken in water, broken, and still. However, if one were to ever try to damage the Life of Nysa, he would awaken from his slumber to defend her. Not all is well. Over time, the central area of the island died out. The depiction of Nysa that stood there was destroyed, and now lies as broken stones among the desert. With the passing of the body, her land shriveled away into the harsh deserts. The guardian, still alive, has become a twisted and dark version of itself. Despaired at not being able to protect it’s beautiful shrine, it has become weathered, like an old stone, losing distinguishable features. When she sensed the death of one of her bodies, Nysa was devestated. Around the edges, she put forth a bit of her power, having little left. Weak, she could not form her entire body, and merely created the plains, with a few sparse forests. A large Caspariak, the largest of its kind, heard the weeping of the Goddess and offered its services to her. To aid it in the new climate, the Goddess changed the body of the Caspariak, until it seemed to be growing from the ground it swore to protect. Within the mountains, in a dark cave, Nysa's power is fading. The mountains continue to roughen as Nysa's incarnation begins to fade away. As she sickens and loses power, her Guardian becomes more and more twisted. Confused, the darkness of the caves begin to consume it.
