Beth was born and raised by pretty normal parents in Phoenix, Arizona. She got good grades in school. Around graduation time her dad got laid off from the company he had been working at for years. Things happen, so instead of stressing them out she decided to work two jobs for a while and save up for college herself. But a few months into it while she was waitressing, she met him. He seemed great to her at the time. They began dating a couple months after that. She couldn't understand why her parents didn't like him. By the age of 23 she was married. After a while though, she started noticing him snapping at her more than usual. She wasn't allowed to go places with friends. He became extremely mentally abusive. She tried to deal with it, but it kept getting worse until one night he came home angry and hit her. She had finally had enough and left.
The divorce was being finalized. She was now almost 30 and back to square one. It was late at night, and she was sitting in her car parked on some random side street feeling sorry for herself. She heard a woman calling for help. Looking around for anything, she notices her ex's baseball bat in her back seat. Quickly heading to where she heard the yelling down an alley and finds a huge man assaulting the poor woman. She snapped. Without thinking, she yells at him to stop. Just as the man turns to her she was already mid swing and smashes him right in the skull with the bat. Did the man have big teeth and horns? She didn't stay to find out. Both women run away fast to safety.
The next day Beth buys herself an assortment of knives and a pistol she has no clue how to actually use. Packs the basics, and just gets in the car and drives with no real destination. She just couldn't stay in Arizona anymore. She ends up in New York, and needing no car in the city she ditches that too. A fresh start..
