Amice had been gone for a long while, after almost being killed by her own bomb, and getting a divorce she was back now, and ready to get back into the swing of things. She was in America working on a gig. She still worked for the same people she had before her disappearance, only this time she wasn't married. It was for the better. She would always love Akutenshi, it would always be a thing and maybe one day they would end up back together, at least she hoped for that, but for now they were always too busy to be around each other. So she now has a small apartment in Rome and he has his Mansion. She picks up her book bag and looks inside, damn she needed to get back to studying.
Amice pulls out her laptop and sits down in the diner, it was almost empty just her and a few other people. Her guns were artfully hidden within her bag, which didn't matter she had a license to carry them anyway. Her fingers drag through her black hair and she lets out a sigh. She needed to find a place to build since her job with Ace had fallen through, probably for the best after what she had learned about him. Amice types a few things into her computer, looking for anything out of the ordinary going on in this city, she needed to make sure that there were no supernaturals making a nuisance of themselves and risking all races.
Amice's family had raised her as a hunter so she was good at what she did. She had left the hunting world and decided to hunt whoever needed it, supernatural or otherwise. Her jet black hair quickly got tied up and she packed her things and left the diner after paying for her food. She was as always well off money wise, Akutenshi made sure of that even if they were separated, he still worried over her. Not to mention the reminder texts that she needed to eat or sleep. They were divorced but might as well have still been married, just living seperately. She liked to think of it that way, and honestly their divorce wasn't finalized yet. Amice shakes her head trying to get rid of thoughts of him as she walks out into the woods of Oregon. She liked it here.
Once out in the middle of no where she waited, she knew there was a werewolf here who had been killing locals and that wasn't okay with her, after this she would have to head back to Arizona where she was born and meet up with her family, but for now, she waited in silence.

Hunting a Were was never something that Rae liked to be doing. There were many reasons for this. The creatures tended to be unreadable, they tended to get urged on by an incredible chemical imbalance and it made them somewhat chaotic in their dangerous ways. They were strong, fast, with sharp teeth and claws. Perhaps the most dangerous of the weres were the cats and dogs of the group; the Weretigers and the Werewolves. Rae had seen a weretiger in action, she had seen it tear apart flesh and bone as if it was nothing but mere candy-floss and paper. She knew how dangerous these creatures could be. Another reason, for her lack of hunting weres, was a particular weretiger. He who should remain unnamed, made Rae feel unbalanced. She’d never been sure why, nor did she want to think about it. But it kept her from hunting his kind…until now.
She’d forced herself into believing that a werewolf and a weretiger weren’t the same species. That made her feel better about the whole thing as she pressed her hunt on through the wilderness.
She had been following this were for several days after an article in the local paper that seemed so out of place. Several children in this state of golden hills and rolling rivers, had gone missing. Only to turn up dead several days later, identifiable by the little that remained of them. This creature had gone rouge, had lost all sense of its humanity and all restraint. It needed to be put down. Permanently.
Dressed in her usual black on black, Rae’s pink hair was knotted into a fish-tail plate and hung over her left shoulder. She wore black leather-look leggings, large biker boots and a black vest top. Today she had hidden her backpack and coat away, in a safe place, and was travelling the latter part of her hunt. She hoped to catch the animal in the daylight, while it was sleeping. She moved silently, barely breathing, as she came upon the cave where she knew it to be resting.
Both arms outreached before her body, she held a silver hunting knife across the bottom of her right hand. In her gun hand was her Glock; loaded for the occasion with three silver bullets rather than its usual magazine of ammunition. The weapon was law enforcement standard. At her side, Eli waited. His body was trembling as he pressed close between Rae’s legs, on his belly, pressed to the ground. The brown and white mutt’s lips were curled back, it could smell the wolf inside and it was both excited and afraid.

Amice kept herself silent and didn't move for a long while, when she did, she was perfectly silent. The girl was rather shocked when she came across the cave and saw another young woman with a knife, a gun, and a dog. If the woman and the dog looked over Amice would simply place her fingers to her lips and hold her hands up as if to say she meant no harm. Another hunter? She was curious and slowly moved closer. Out of the corner of her eye she catches something abnormal, her gun was out a moment later, but she couldn't pull the trigger. She saw the large wolf with a few pups, Amice keeps her eyes on the wolf, it hadn't seen her yet but she knew it caught the smell of the three that were there by the way it got defensive moving the pups beneath her belly. This was a female wolf, not the one she was hunting, but probably his mate. She looks at the other woman and motions to her silently to try and keep an eye out to see if the male wolf was inside. She sneaks over to the female and kneels down setting her gun down in front of her.
She whispers while being growled at, "The wolf that is in there he is dangerous... did he give you that wound?" She asks loooking at the blood on the wolfs pelt. The female wolf looks at the wound and then nods to Amice. Amice groans and nods, "Take the pups and go..." She says before watching to make sure the wolf female left with the little ones. Amice says one more thing before they go on their way, "Stay close, I will find you afterword and try to patch you up." She says before moving back toward Rae. This was assuming that Rae didn't try to shoot her first. She looks at the other huntress, "Do you want to try to go in together?" She asks as quietly as physically possible. It wasn't normal for Amice to trust anyone, but werewolves were hard to take out, she didn't want to try this one on her own.

Movement to her left caught Rae’s attention. While her hands stared at arm’s length in front of her, still honed on the cave her head whipped around to see a black haired girl there. The woman raised a finger to her lips, motioning something. Then she disappeared into the bush a little. Ae, if she strained her ears, could hear whispering, but she couldn’t make out the words or where the woman was now she’d ducked down into the undergrowth. Her chocolate gaze went back to its duty, back to the cave. Rae stepped forwards, just once, only to realise the girl was beside her once more.
A whisper, faint and on the breeze, but close enough now that Rae could make it out, swept by her ear. Her eyes came quickly to the girl, darting to her and then back to the entrance of the cave. Go in together? The thought crossed her mind. Who was this girl? What was she doing here? She appeared to know what Rae was hunting, was that a good thing? Her tongue flicked out of her mouth, brushed across her lower ruby lip and vanished again as she thought over what the girl said. There was no need for words, as Rae gave a nod of her head.
Then she took off, forwards, her dog at her heel like an attack creature. She moved silently, with clear agility in each bound, her feet barely leaving prints on the ground. She also moved like a cop, squared shoulders, bent knees, and the arms outstretched, eyes darting for possible attacks from let to right. It was clear this girl was well trained.
Rae paused, pressed her back against the wall of the cave, her eyes down to the ground beside her. She held her breath once more, listening to the sounds from inside. The beast was awake, the noise from deep within the cave suggested it was eating, the snorts and snuffles made Rae feel a little sick to hear. Eli let out a low growl.
Rae didn’t have any intention of going into the cave, she wanted to draw the beast out.
Eli’s jaws snapped and he barked, snarling loudly, deeper in his manners for such a plain dog.

Amice follows Rae's lead, she waits and when she sees the creature running to see what had made the noise so close to his home, her gun aims and she fires a silver bullet into the creatures shoulder, it wasn't enough to take him down and she felt bad about that but she walks closer to the creature, her hands were shaking a little, because even though she had been at a diner she hadn't actually had anything to eat. She looks at the creature and whispers a prayer to Locutus, "I'm sorry... I know this is one of your sacred creatures, but the children he is eating deserve life as well." She says before letting out a sigh, she steps closer to the creature that is snapping it's jaws in anger, "Rest now, Relax." She replies before aiming her gun for the creatures heart, before she could get the shot off though the wolf lunged at her chomping down on her thigh. Amice falls backward kicking the beast in it's muzzle, she tries to hold back the scream she felt coming after hearing the sickening snap of her bone, "FUCK YOU!" She yells out in pain. She keeps trying to kick at the beast and get him off of her. "God damn it!"

The shot barely seemed to register with Rae, use to the noise of gunfire. Eli scarpered, running for the safety of the trees, now. If his master was in the line of fire, the dog would’ve attacked, but he was tiny in comparison with the wolf that came roaring out of the cave. It had blood on its jawsand paws and, when the fire came from Rae’s left, it had blood in its shoulder too. Rae watched as the beast rolled passed her, paused as the woman came up close and whispered her prayer. That made Rae watch her more closely. She’d long since figured that the God’s had a price on her head. She owed them. She didn’t want to attract attention to them and be forced to pay up.
But the girl got too close. The creature lunged forwards with strength unknown to man.
Rae didn’t hesitate, but she was behind the beast now. She fired, two shots. Both clean, both well managed. She squeezed the trigger and felt the gun’s recoil in quick succession. The bullets were small, but they drove home into the animals shoulders and flank; smoke seeming to come from the new wounds as they had from the old ones. The beast was determined, and burning.
But it doesn’t go still. Rae lets her struggle a little longer with the animal, coming forwards now, she moves to distract it. She had one bullet left, she knew she had to get it into the beast’s head, so she needed it to turn around. Stepping forwards, she brings her knife arm around, catching the back and rump of the animal. It snarls and screams in the pain of the silver blade that weakens it and turns its angry jaws on Rae.
There, expertly and in the moment that provided itself, Rae squeezed off the last of her rounds. It sunk deep into the animal’s eye. The roar that cut through the trees quickly became a gargle as the animal dropped to the ground, its eyes oozing, its mouth bleeding. It stumbled and slumped to the ground.
Rae holstered her gun at her hip and turned away, she didn’t want to see if the animal turned back into its more human self.
“You alright?” She asked the girl with the jet hair, though she didn’t give her much attention, just bent to wipe her blade in the grass a few feet away.

Amice was rather shocked by everything that had happened and it was over in seconds. She stands up balancing on one leg, broken bones were something that hunters were used to after all. She looks down at the wolf and pulls an oversized coat out of her bag, she covers him as he returns to his normal form. "Yeah. I'm good." She says before smiling, "Nice aim. Amice Kyo-... Verasi." She says with a smile trying to get used to her maiden name once more. She groans and looks around, "Well... fuck." She says before looking down at her thigh, "That's going to scar..." She says with a sigh before looking up at Rae, "I have to go check on his mate... are you... are you a hunter?" She asks. She didn't notice anything obviously supernatural about her, so she simply assumed she was human, though she didn't trust it quite yet. After all that wasn't Amice's way, besides with her background, hunters could be as dangerous to her as it is for supernaturals.

Rae turned away from the dead creature and the other girl, she bent ad checked that Eli was okay, looking for marks in his fur but he seemed fine and she ruffled his fur. Then she straightened and rose, turning her attention to her gun, checking it, clearing it. Then she finished cleaning her knife and tucked both weapons on her hip, in their casings. Fortunately, the girl answered to her question with an affirmative, she was okay. That meant Rae didn’t have to stay here or worry about anything in particular now. Her responsibility was over.
"Nice aim. Amice Kyo-... Verasi."
The stumbled over the words caught Rae’s attention and she turned, her eyes surveying the girl properly now. “Thanks, I try.” But there was something incredibly stealy in the way Rae held herself. She was pretty good at this now, she’d been doing it for a collection of years, living and surviving in this world.
"That's going to scar..."
“I have a pack hidden back there on the path- I can get you some stuff for your leg?” She offered, still not having given the woman her name.
"I have to go check on his mate... “
“You won’t get far on that leg if it get infected.” Rae said, nodding the woman, folding her arms under her bust.
are you... are you a hunter?"
Rae’s lip twitched at the side, a small curve sent it up towards the sky in the corner and she just nodded at the woman. Yes, Rae supposed she was a hunter. “Names Star.” She said, finally giving her alias to the girl who had stumbled about the delivery of her name. “Where you out here for the shits and giggles or do I assume you’re a hunter too- seen as you appear to know what one is?” She spoke the thought aloud, already having figured that conclusion.

Amice looks at her leg and groans, "Yeah should probably fix it up... I do enjoy living... and having a leg quite a bit." She smiles at Rae, "Pleasure to meet you Star... and more of an ex-hunter... still do it if there is great need otherwise I'm in school." She says with a laugh. Amice was a very happy person, she stands up balancing on one leg her eyes searching Rae for anything that might allude to whether the female was truly a friend or if she was in fact an enemy. Amice could protect herself as well as anyone else but still she worried as any hunter would for her life. Amice leans up against a tree, she knew she couldn't get far and she definately couldn't ride her motorcycle in the condition she was in, looks like she was stuck in this town for at least a few more nights. Here was too hoping she'd be able to get to Arizona in time for what needed to be done there.

"Yeah should probably fix it up... I do enjoy living... and having a leg quite a bit."
The raven haired woman smiles at her and Rae returns it, though more suspiciously. Still, she whistles, and the dog that had been at her side vanished off into the undergrowth. The animal, like a sheep-dog, knew that different whistles or different flicks of his master’s hands, meant different things. So as she sent Eli off to grab the pack from under the leaves where it had been hidden, Rae came over to the girl finally; “Sit.” She instructed, getting the woman to rest on the ground so she could have a proper look at the bite that mauled her leg.
She didn’t touch the woman, not yet, but her eyes gazed at the bloody wound.
"Pleasure to meet you Star... and more of an ex-hunter... still do it if there is great need otherwise I'm in school."
Rae nods, just once.
“Well then, I’m lucky that you were here and vice versa. I’ve been following that creature for a couple of days.” She said, not one to talk about her business with a stranger, Rae was more than a little guarded, but the woman clearly knew about the darkness in the world and sometimes it was nice not having to explain yourself. “Did you say there was another one in the forest somewhere?” She added, though she seemed pretty relaxed.
At which point, the brown and white mutt came back into the clearing, dragging a rucksack. Rae went to him, ruffled his hair, and took the heavy bag off him, looping it onto her shoulder. “Let’s have a look at that leg, alright?”

Amice sits down as she is told to do, she knew people like Rae, most hunters were like her, very untrusting, but it wasn't a life you could live and still trust people. Amice knew that intamtely. She'd been almost killed by her family, for something as simple as falling in love. She looks the other girl over, she was attractive to say the least but that wasn't something to mention at the moment. "I should have spent more time researching this one if I'm honest with myself." She then looks toward where the mother and pups are, "Yeah... four. A mom and her three pups." She replies, though she was worried about what would happen to them, "I want to take care of them and make sure that they are okay. It was her that called me here so... I'd like to help her more than just killing her mate."

As the woman sat, Rae watched her for a moment and knelt at her feet. She rummaged in her backpack for a moment, then took out a little green bag. It was a first aid kit that she’d taken from a hospital and that she kept near, dressed in the official greens. She barely gave the bag a second glance as she placed it on the floor beside her knees and looked at the large bite on the womans leg. “I’m going to have to clean it out alright-“ She warned the woman, before taking a second thing from her backpack; a bottle of vodka. Rae had a drinking habit and the small bottle was half full. Though, if she was using it for medical purposes then who’d know right? “This is going to sting.”
It was an understatement really, and Rae moved quickly to cut away the material form the open wound, before she washed it out with a little of the alcohol. It would be no good for the girl to go and get an infection in her leg. A bite, by a creature like this, well, it was dangerous wasn’t it? Rae knew all the nightmare stories after all. Her fingers moved with dexterity as she used strips, in places where the strips would have effect, to help her leg along with closing itself up. She didn’t offer stitching, mostly because Rae wasn’t best practiced at it (though she’d done it to herself once or twice), and she pt clean, white bandages over the leg, once she had it cleaned. She worked quickly, listening to the woman speak as she did so, but her attention was on what she was doing.
When she was finished, she rose and addressed her thoughts to the other wolf as she replaced the kit back in her bag. “She called you for help?” Rae asked, finding that one difficult to believe, why would a mate turn? Unless she was in such a bad condition…
Rae offered her hand to the girl now, to pull her up from the grass. “I’ll come with you. Just in case, you’re in no state to run away from a mini-pack, should they decide to be less friendly than you thought them to be.” She said, guarded, shouldering her bag and clicking her finger to Eli, who came close. Then she offered the woman support by means of her other shoulder. “Which way?”

Amice watches everything that Rae does, she didn't want to be poisioned or anything. Amice clenches her jaw when the woman pours the vodka over her wound. She coughs for a moment and pulls out a small bottle of whiskey taking a hard drink of it. Fuck that shit hurt. She offers some to Rae, she knew the life of a hunter sucked, it was good fireball whiskey. If she took the bottle Amice would wait for her to finish before sliding the bottle back into her bag, if she did not then Amice would simply slide it into her bag. Amice nods and stands, she uses Rae as little as physically possible as she points to the direction the lady and her pups were in, "Yeah even in his... human form he was abusive to her and the kids. She couldn't stand it anymore, my family does a lot of work, and sometimes we get known." She says playing with her fingers for a bit. She shakes her head and limps to where the woman was, her and her three kids were back in their human forms. She looks at Amice, "Verasi, you okay?" She asks fear in her voice. Amice nods and smiles, "How are the kids?"

Rae could feel the girl’s eyes on her and she didn’t blame her. It was a dangerous would, full of strangers and sociopaths. It was important, in their line of work, to trust no one and nothing but their own paranoia. It was unusual for hunters to come together and work together regularly, sure, if they dropped into each other’s area or place of work then it was curious to let a fellow hunter know or to share intel or resources but it was rare to have a group working together. Which, in a roundabout way, made no sense at all. A group, you’d think, would make a better job of it.
Anyway she shakes her head and doesn’t accept the drink, just working on the wound before packing up and heling the woman to her feet.
So the wolf had been abusive. Was Rae surprised? It was the amound of testosterome in their blood that drove them to it, wasn’t it? Didn’t it sort of make sense? She gave a nod all the same and understood at least, what the woman had suffered through, that need to finally escape, that fear of what would happen if you tried. Rae couldn’t imagine the situation with kids, she knew it was tough enough on your own. Maybe it was this empathy that set Rae’s guard down, just a little, but she stayed with Amice as they went to find the family of wolves.
Eli trotted along beside them as they walked and hobbled along.
Rae, however, made sure to hang back when she came up upon the woman the three small children. This hunter had always had a soft spot for children, particularly since she’d been a key part in her little brother’s care until he had died. She watched the small kids playing, her attention caught on the youngest. A small, dusty haired boy who looked about four. He wasn’t playing roughly with his siblings but sat silently sucking his thumb. His sickened features suggested he wasn’t eating properly, wasn’t living a full or healthy life. His eyes darted around, he’d seen things a child shouldn’t see. Even if society deemed the child a monster, Rae couldn’t help but go to him and sit on the ground beside the small boy. She let Amice to the woman, after all, it was Amice the woman had reached out for.
Eli joined Rae on the ground, sniffing at the small child curiously.
The woman, bruised and tender, looked up at the hunter and nodded her head, just once. “We’ll manage.” Her eyes went to her children, her voice thick. “Was it painful for him?” She asked, her voice unreadable as she watched the stranger approach her youngest.

Amice looks at the woman and smiles sadly, it was never okay to tell a woman that her husband was dead, that you killed him, even if he was an abusive prick because there was still love there. Amice shakes her head, "No, it was over quickly." She replies letting out a sigh. Amice digs through her bag when she finds what she is looking for she pulls out a wad of cash, "Take this. Get away from here. There is a car waiting for you and the kids." Amice smiles at the woman, "Just promise me you will stay out of Arizona..." The woman looks at the money then to Amice. She didn't want to accept it but she knew they didn't have any money. She takes it and sets it in her pocket. "A... car?" Amice nods, "You're going to have to have a way to get around. Find a job... a babysitter... get your life on track. If the pack comes after you... you know how to get a hold of me. Please.. if you hear anything from the pack at all... call me." She hugs the woman. She then looks to the little boy and Rae. She was interested in the way the female acted, "As soon as I'm able to ride I'll meet up with you and make sure that you are okay... Normally I would follow right away, but my leg will keep me from riding my bike for at least a day." She says. Then she looks over at Rae, "Anything you want to add?"
