Kenji Yamamoto
theme song:; For lack of a better song at the moment, Young, by Hollywood Undead.
description:; Yamamoto Kenji stands at the average height of five-foot eight, has an even olive skin tone, and looks quite young for his age. His training regiment and long history of conflict has thickened his skin, especially around his hands, and has aided in keeping his already fit body in a state of high balance in regards to power and agility. He has a set of handsome features accented by his short black hair, dark brown eyes, and slight stubble. Otherwise, not much stands out about him.

weapon(s):;Better get comfortable. Yamamoto has a moderate arsenal of weapons saved and collected from both his days as a Samurai, and as a Ronin. He usually carries his standard Daisho, which consists of his faithful Katana and Wakizashi, in addition to a combination Naginata/Yari or his Yumi. He keeps about four small Tanto-sized blades stashed on his torso and legs in the case that he should need an emergency weapon. For more special circumstances, such as fighting from horse or dragon-back, an Odachi is used in conjunction with the Naginata. The conventional nature of Kenji's handheld kit ends there, as he also has developed a particular fondness for the uses of explosive-based tools and weapons. Smoke bombs, crude fragmentation grenades and mines, even near-harmlessly explosive arrowheads are all employed for some purpose. Explosives aren't, of course, carried by either man or Dragon in most cases however. Grenades and mines are kept in stashes located wherever they may be needed the most, though about two smoke bombs and fifteen 'explosive' arrowheads are kept around in the case that they may prove useful. Kenji's carries two back-quivers of about twenty five arrows each, with a small waist-bag which holds the materials needed to quickly modify one of his fifty arrows into one of his fifteen 'explosive' versions.
whatcha~wearin?:;Typically the traditional full-lamellar of the Samurai, topped with a metal-reinforced straw-hat and wolf mask, and somewhat shrouded in black cloth. The lamellar is black with red trim and circle in the center of the chest , and the hat is a dark gray color. When not dressed properly, Kenji wears a simple black kimono, a pair of geta, and of course, his hat.
transportation:;Dragon-back or boat.
anything.else.you'd.like.to.share?:;Kenji just happens to have a particular fondness for the Guqin, one of which he carries with him when possible. The black case aids in hiding things, and the instrument itself is a good way to make pocket change.

background:;Yamamoto Kenji was born on the first of January in fourteen sixty seven, the unfortunate onset of the Sengoku period, in Edo. His father was a lesser-known samurai who had sided with the wrong people when it came time to decide where loyalties lied, which would ultimately be the cause of his demise. While the Yamamoto family was being put under political and military pressure to rethink it's loyalties, Kenji was undergoing training for they keystones of all Samurai. When his family started being harrased Kenji started learning how to use blades, both long and short. When the threats started coming in, Kenji started his education with spears, such as the Naginata and Yari. By the time all out hostilities had been started with the Yamamotos, Kenji was being taught to master the Yumi. The rigorous conditioning, discipline, and regimented work hardened the young Kenji's body and mind to a great degree, something that would only aid him as the time passed. At sixteen Kenji faced his first enemy in a battle around the outskirts of the Yamamoto family land, the first of many. At 20 years in age, he defended his home in a futile attempt to secure the non-combatants enough time to flee. A battle that would end in the deaths of many of the invaders, but the near-erradication of the Yamamoto family line.. After the battle Kenji fled to the forests and mountains nearby in a successful attempt at evading any pursuers. It was in the mountainous forests where he met his symbiotic second half, and where the two of them would forge the spiritual contract which would bind them to one another until death.Yamamoto Kenji's training in the arts of being a Samurai would start at age eight, and end with the final stand of the Yamamoto clan. He was intensely drilled, trained, and conditioned in the art of wielding all of the trademarks of a Samurai for a total of eight years, and though he is very adept at wielding all of his equipment with confidence, Kenji has mastered the use of the Naginata and Yumi. He is adept in the use of the long Odachi, the short Wakizashi and Tanto, as well as the Katana he wields, though his almost unconventional means of using them in battle was met with little satisfaction by his father and his masters. The straight point of the Yari never quite suited him unless it was mounted on the backside of a Naginata either, another thing that never quite satisfied the family. Fortunately, Kenji made quick work of learning and using both Naginata and Yumi. By the time rifles were being issued to the Yamamoto family, Kenji could outshoot any of the guardsmen wielding them with his bow. He was trained in the use of a rifle however, and though he doesn't use a rifle, he has found a use for gunpowder and explosives since being introduced to them. Bombs and mines, as well as smoke bombs and some improvised arrow attachments were used by a few of the struggling Yamamoto family, much to the dismay of Kenji's father. Unfortunately for him, Kenji was one of those who used them. Bombs and mines provided much needed support to the defending household, and smoke bombs and incendiary/explosive arrows gave them much needed cover and distractions when used correctly.
Shortly before joining his father in battle for the last time, Kenji was awarded his own set of lamellar armor designed around his needs and unique style of combat, complete with a helmet and mask. The set was designed, like most of it's counterparts, to allow maximum mobility and speed while still offering great protection from all angles of attack. The helmet itself consists of all the usual parts with the exception of a metal-reinforced straw hat mounted above it. The mask that secures in place with the helmet was created in the likeness of a wolf, to reflect the relatively wild nature and savagery of Kenji while on the battlefield, and his intelligence gathering escapades and ambushes under the cover of darkness. This was the garb that the young survivor wore as he fought alongside his father and brothers, desperately spilling blood for the sake of gleaning every second, every minute that the rest of the family could use to escape. It was a losing battle from the start. The invading force used rockets and bombs to destroy large sections of defensive wall and emplacement, to set fire to whatever else they could hit with the innacurate projectiles. In the end, Kenji was ordered to escourt any survivors out of the estate, and to flee with them and any supplies they could carry into the mountains and forests a short distance away. Not having found anyone, the last Yamamoto grabbed a bang-out-bag prepared days before, and fled.
After spending the next few days weaving his way through the maze of foliage to throw off any would-be hunters, Kenji settled down, stripped, and found a waterfall to wash all of the grime and blood off of himself. Unbeknownst to him, a cavern carved behind the water housed much more than just darkness and moisture. The rocks being slippery with algae and water, it was only inevitable that Kenji should find himself slipping, letting out a brief cry, and then sliding into the darkness beyond. When his eyes adjusted, the surviving Yamamoto found himself facing off with his future companion. The awkward stare between Dragon and Man caused by Kenji's clumsy fall lasted for perhaps about fifteen seconds before it escalated into a whole lot of screaming and yelling, something induced when a meek "You're naked." whispered from the soft green lips of the large creature. Some time after the two had settled down enough to stop from going into cardiac arrest, Kenji found himself sitting naked in front of a small fire while waiting for his clothing to dry, and water for tea to boil. Upon making some small talk, and then turning to a large quantity of questions that had been slowly building up on each entity's minds, the young man found his goals to be fairly in-line with those of the Dragoness', who's name was Senbo, he learned. After another faiirly long while the two agreed to make a binding pact with one another, which would tie them together for as long as the other's heart was beating.
Six years later, Kenji and Senbo have turned to whatever job available to make enough money to live on. The humanitarian Senbo opts to help people as much as they can wherever they go, and the Rebelious Kenji opts likewise to help, in the hopes that it hurts the faction that caused the massacre of his family line. Something that he actively participates in, whether it be by stealing, sabotaging, or the strategic elimination of courier or official. Witnesses have failed to capture a glimps of Kenji's face, which reflects in the wanted posters depicting a faceless man in a padded black kimono, with a straw hat and Yumi.
Kenji is independent for the most part, and knows little of the supernatural world outside of the lore he has been taught.
