"Of course. Sex is incredibly enjoyable but it's only a small fraction of the pleasures one can find throughout this world." Ben said in agreement with Tenshi.
"I've listened to music that has caused my heart to pound rapidly within my chest and songs that have brought me to tears. Stood at the top of Everest and stared over the world!" He gestured with the hand holding his glass as if he was waving towards not so distant peaks.
Locke drank and leaned in secretively. "I've felt the life leave a person's body," The young man brought his hands together as though he were strangling someone. "Watching the gleam in their eyes fade to a dull, death."
The young man finished the rest of his glass with one deep gulp. "Life is struggle and never does one feel more alive, enjoy it's pleasures more, than when one is fighting against death or some other hardship. It makes one appreciate the beautiful, intricate cultures of this planet all the more."

It felt like the daemon had found a kindred spirit in the matters of passion and living life. "Oh yes, my friend. I too have borne witness to such majestic compositions that it could stir even the hardest of hearts. I have seen works of art that could just as easily be thought to be part of a living canvas" he chuckles and at the part where Ben leaned in to talk about witnessing death, Tenshi gave a knowing smile as he lowers his voice as well "It is something else isn't it? To watch as they 'give up the ghost' as it were. Ah I remember many of them, they were so full of life and ambition. But unfortunately they tended to bite off more than they could chew" he chuckles as he raises his glass to his companion "To the thrill of life. May it never be dull"

'Give up their ghost'. Ben liked the sound of that. It seemed the perfect way to describe watching a person die, seeing the life fade from their eyes, feeling their flesh go cold underneath your fingers as their pulse fades and you hear their last breath wheeze out of their lungs. It almost made the young man smile.
"I'll raise my glass to that. May life's moments never run empty." Locke took up his refilled glass and raised his glass to Tenshi's.
"I must say. When I first saw you, I assumed you were just another joe businessman. A corporate drone come to this particular gentleman's club for a night of debauchery to help you wind down from the grind of work. I am not sorry to admit to you and myself that my first impression of you was gravely mistaken. You, Tenshi my friend, are far more interesting than I first believed you to be."

Tenshi grins at his companion "A corporate drone eh? Well I can understand how I could come across as such. And I came here to celebrate my grand opening tomorrow of my latest casino" he gazes out over the crowd "but I don't always come here for the ladies" he smirks a bit as he turns back to Ben "I always look for new potential when I come here. People who aren't afraid to be themselves in the world of political correctness" he does the air quotes as he says that last bit then takes another drink from his glass before pulling a card from his coat pocket "I like you Ben. If you ever need a job, I am always looking to hire new hands." the card handed to him was a simple black card with the name Akutenshi Kyoushi written in blood red script and a phone number in white.

When Tenshi smiled at his mentioning of him appearing to be a corporate drone, Ben shrugged slightly with a half smile on his face, as if to say It was an honest mistake.
After Tenshi mentioned that he was at the club to celebrate the grand opening of his new casino, the young man considered congratulating him on it. Ben thought about it but ultimately he decided to simply raise his glass slightly in acknowledgement of the accomplishment as a sort of mini toast.
Ben was in the middle of taking a drink from his glass when Tenshi offered him a job. The young man nearly choked on the liquid he was so surprised. Just earlier that day he'd become responsible, however indirectly, for the deaths and arrest records of several of his coworkers and here Ben was, already being offered another job!
He took the card and admired the quality of it. Ben took a drink from his glass. "What sort of flexibility would I have? I travel frequently. For personal reasons." The young man said it in a joking manner but it was true.

Tenshi laughs at the shock that came from Ben as he was offering him a chance for working for him. This guy was certainly one he could rely on to get a job done. He'd have to gain a little more information about his choice of lifestyle but that would come with time. For now, the man made a great first impression on him and he wanted to see that Ben had a place that he could rely on in more ways than just a simple job "We will discuss those matters at the office Ben. But I can tell you this, if you do decide to travel, you will have expenses paid for if you stay at any of my other casinos if that interests you" he grins and then finishes his drink "Ah, what a night. Turned out better than I had expected. And the night is still young" he glances at his watch for a moment to get a gauge of what time it was
Post by Benjamin Locke on Sept 16, 2015 11:25:14 GMT -5
"Ooh."
Ben rubbed his chin. The young man was certainly intrigued by Tenshi's offer and the prospect of having his expenses paid for by someone other than himself was incredibly tempting.
"You've convinced me," Ben admitted to the man, accepting his offer. "I s'pose we'll have to iron out the details later but I believe I'll take you up on that offer."
Sure, Ben technically didn't have any such expenses since he could pretty much just teleport wherever he wanted and then proceed to simply teleport home when he was ready to take a nap. But if Locke had someone else's money to blow then he was more than willing to do things the more expensive way.
"Nights such as these can often take an unexpected turn," the young man said in agreement, finishing another drink. "More often than not they can end poorly, but this one is definitely going my way."

Tenshi grins at Ben "yes. We can hash out details in my office when you're free. But tonight... Ah perhaps we should go have a night on the town. This place is starting to bore me. A man like me prefers a little variety" with that said he gives a wave to the barkeep and looks to Ben "don't suppose I could tempt you with a ride, could I?" He chuckles "if you have any good ideas about locations for fun I'd like to hear them as we drive". He then turns and make his way to the exit, fishing out his keys before reaching the exit. He was sure there would be plenty of fun they could have in the area. He even considered renting a speed boat and tear through the sound or perhaps liven up a pleasure cruise. He almost thought about taking Ben to meet his wife but figured it would be better to wait until they were better aquatinted.

"Sure. Let's ditch this place." Ben stood up, finished his drink, and put a hundred in the bartender's tip jar. "Bartender, you're a pretty cool dude, not cutting me off after all those drinks."
The young man had drank a little but he wasn't worried. The sphinx constitution was nearly unparalleled among the supernatural races.
When Tenshi suggested leaving and offered him a ride, the young man nearly sighed with relief. He'd been repeatedly catching a particularly voluptuous young brunette staring at him all night. Ben found her dilated pupils to be rather disturbing and, if he hadn't been about to leave, the young man probably would've eaten her face. Well, that or put a baby in her on the floor of a men's room stall.
"I'll start thinking right now." Ben began thinking up some fun things to do, following after the man. He also wondered what kind of car Tenshi drove.

Tenshi walked back to the Ferrari that he had pulled up in. It was a deep crimson red with a couple golden racing stripes running along its top "I tell you nothing handles better than European automobiles" Tenshi gives a light chuckle "Fast, sporty and very agile" he pulls out his keys and unlocks the doors for the two of them to get in and he turns the key in the ignition to start the car up. "I feel that people are too tame to really enjoy such a work of art as this. Granted I'd never go off road in this but I have other modes of transportation at my disposal." once Ben had his seat belt on he punches the gas and slams the car into gear and takes off with a screech of rubber on asphalt, tearing down the street "So what are some things you like to do when the mood strikes you?" he always liked to hear what other people enjoyed. It gave him potentially new ideas for themes of his casinos when he built one

Well. Ben didn't know much about cars and he didn't have a whole lot of use for them, but Tenshi's looked pretty expensive and kinda cool. Not knowing what to say, he gave one of those whistles of admiration as he looked the thing over before climbing inside. Ya know, like in the movies when someone sees a really cool car? Yeah, like that.
Ben had barely managed to get his seat belt buckled in time when Tenshi slammed on the accelerator and they shot out of there. He had to admit, the feeling was exhilarating and Locke could see the appeal to such a car.
"Me? I usually just walk or drive around until inspiration strikes." Ben thought for a moment. "I did forget a little C4 back at the office. We could pick it up, unless you have something you'd rather do. After all, theres nothing like a good boom when in need of a little inspiration."

Tenshi looks over at Ben with a sideways glance as they drove through the town "At the office? What office are we talking about that would allow you to carry explosives into it?" he asks curiously. That wasn't something normal people usually carried "And do you have some sort of military background? C4 isn't exactly common material for the average joe to obtain or this whole world would be in ruins" He takes a tight turn and makes his way down toward the waterfront area of the city, watching the lights out on the water as ships made their way along the waterways. "Don't get me wrong I like a good explosion as much as the next guy. It's why I love me a good action movie where the large portion of the movie is crap being blown up for no other reason than to improve the fight scene and get people on their seats wondering how the hero is going to get out of the situation without being obliterated in the process."
Post by Benjamin Locke on Sept 19, 2015 22:32:14 GMT -5
"I kind of have a military background, I guess." It was sort of true. As a young sphinx Ben had been trained to defend Shangri-La. Not that you'd guess it, from his devil may care, impulsive attitude.
Tenshi looked Ben like he was crazy. Ben was most assuredly not crazy. He was NOT. "Don't worry. I have a good reason for leaving them there. You see, I worked in a regular office. Cubicles and stuff, as an accountant." He scratched his chin, pausing briefly before he continued with his explanation.
"So I was at work one day. It had been a long day and I'd missed breakfast so my stomach was really hungry. Anyways, I had my C4 in one hand, and my lunch -a turkey and cheese sandwich- in the other. After a few bites I was getting pretty thirsty. But my hands were full!"
Ben held his hands up, like they were full and there was nothing he could do.
"So the only logical choice was to put down my C4, since I wasn't using it at the time, and use that hand for my drink. Anyways, that was a couple months ago and it's still there."
As he didn't think it was relevant, the young man didn't say why he'd had the C4 because sometimes you just walk around with C4 and wait for inspiration to strike.

Tenshi continues to drive on as Ben tries his best to explain the situation. It seemed to have a lot of holes in it from what he heard but Ben wasn't your typical party animal. So he gives a grunt and a shrug "mind if I ask what you were doing with C4 at an office like that? I can't imagine that many of the people were concerned some" he turns the car to run along the road that ran parallel to the water "Either way I'll need to know where this office is so we can go pick it up. Explosives can be useful in many ways and I would hate for someone who didn't know what they were doing to pick it up" he looks back at Ben for a moment "Unless that was your plan" he chuckles "But I would hate to have someone die before they had a chance to realize their true passion in life."
Post by Benjamin Locke on Sept 20, 2015 2:16:16 GMT -5
Ben shrugged. He didn't always have a reason for doing something before he did it. Most would call that dangerously impulsive but the young man liked to think of it as letting the reason find him.
"I was at the office. I'd felt like bringing my C4 with me. Ya know, in case I got to urge to blow something up after work I wouldn't have to go all the way back home to get it. Sometimes you just gotta walk around with a block or two of C4 and wait for inspiration to strike."
"Don't worry. I know how to handle explosives." Locke assured him. When Tenshi mentioned someone who didn't know much about explosives picking up his C4, the young man looked a little offended. "I'm not an idiot. I didn't just leave it sitting there wired up, complete with matching detonator. It's fairly harmless in the brown paper lunch bag I left it in. Inside the fridge."
