Although she was happy Jack said he would take her along, a part of her was a little sad. When would they get to see each other again? With both of them having jobs that required them to travel, it was highly doubtful they could be I'm the same place at the same time.
Jack didn't exactly answer her question about the pizza, but he seemed to really be enjoying it which made her happy. She was enjoying hers also, even the rabbit food (salad) along with it.
"Well, I didnt meet anyone else thrre today so.. hmm who could it be?" She was pretending to think about the question. Oh, you just want me to say it. Yes, I think you're cute." He had already looked away from her and appeared embarrassed again. She just watched him all focused on his pizza so he didn't have to look back up at her again and it made her giggle. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to embarrass you. But it's the truth."

Jack wasn't worried about running into Lydia again. He seemed to have the strangest of habits of encountering the same people over and over again, no matter where he went. It was almost as if they lived on a deceptively small world populated only by a dozen people or so, causing him to encounter these same people repeatedly because they were the only other people who actually existed. But that would be crazy. Almost a crazy as the thought of some bored guy's whims controlling his every action like he was some sort of demented puppet.
Anyways, the young man hadn't forgotten the tickets she'd given him. They would, at the very least, meet a second time.
"You're just teasing me," Jack said after nearly choking on his food when Lydia had told him that she thought he was cute. The young man was more than a little flustered and wasn't doing a very good job of hiding it. His face was about as red as it could get. Any minute now Jack's brain would explode from the effort of trying to wrap his mind around the concept of a pretty girl calling him cute. Him of all people. Jack was the boring of the boring, a plain, awkward, nerd of a guy. It just didn't make any sense to him.

Jack seemed to be having trouble keeping his food down but she didn't want to embarrass the poor guy more by asking if he was alright. "I wouldn't tease about something like that." He seemed to become more flustered as she spoke to him, so she decided to keep quiet at least until he was done eating. The thought of her new friend dying by pizza was not a pleasant one, though truthfully she wasn't completely against trying mouth to mouth.
Lydia kept working on her pizza until the entire slice was in her stomach (except for the ham) and she was almost too full. Food was one thing she loved and luckily hadn't gained any weight because of it yet. "Are you still hungry?" She looked at him finally to make sure he had eaten enough. Lydia always wanted to make sure her guests were comfortable and most importantly, well fed.

What she'd said to him stuck with Jack. As he finished his pizza he couldn't help but reevaluate himself somewhat, given this new information. The young man didn't have the most pleasant view of himself but it was one that was accurate. Or, at least, he'd thought it was. It was certainly something to think about. What a coincidence. He finished roughly around the same time she did.
"Nah. I'm pretty full, thanks." Jack gave his stomach a light pat. He wasn't filled to bursting or anything silly like that but he was definitely sated and this seemed a good place to stop. He always felt a little self conscious after he'd eaten, especially when he was talking to someone. But the young man had to admit to himself that he felt pretty comfortable around Lydia.
"Do you treat all of your guests this well?" He asked, giving her a warm smile to show his appreciation.

She was happy to see her guest satisfied and appeared as though he was done eating. She felt like she had forgotten something.. oh! "We can always get dessert. I always have room for dessert" Lydia gave Jack a big smile and an expression that was saying "you know you want to" because you have to be crazy to turn down sugar. Unless maybe you were diabetic. He could stay as long as he liked, or they could both head out again and get ice cream or something. She waited for his responce and was open to suggestions.
"I do try to, though I'm not the best at it as you can tell. There isn't a whole lot to do here besides eat. I hope you are enjoying yourself anyway." She was at least. It had been a while since she had the opportunity to get to know someone and make friends.

"Dessert?" Jack wondered aloud, the thought never having even occurred to him. He certainly had room for some and anyone who knew him knew that he loved that sort of thing. The young man returned Lydia's smile with a grin of his own. "I'm definitely up for a taste of something sweet. What did you have in mind?"
"Not the best at it?" The young man gaped in disbelief. "If you promise to treat me like this every night, I might just never leave!" Jack exclaimed with a playful wink. He'd had a lot of fun. Video games and pizza? Two of some of his most favorite things. And getting to do it all with a beautiful woman who enjoyed it just as much as him, all without the usual drama he had the unfortunate habit of stumbling into? This was the most normal night the young man had had in as long as he could remember. Probably years.

"Chocolate!" Lydia blurted out without much thought. "Oops, I mean anywhere I can get something with chocolate. Cake, ice cream, cake with ice cream. Anything really. What are you in the mood for?" She wondered what his favorite dessert was.
Lydia giggled at Jack's reaction. But his wink made her blush. He had nice eyes, and a great smile. Gosh, he was perfect. He was joking, but she sure wouldn't mind spending every night with him if it was always going to be this pleasant. "Well if that's all it takes to keep you around.." she played back. If only it really was that easy.
"Would you like to order dessert up here, or are you ready to get some fresh air?" Lydia was fine with whatever his decision was. She still had no reason to want to kick him out but there still wasn't much to do in here. The only other thing she could think of was find a corny movie to watch on the hotel television.

"Could always stay here and get some chocolate, if that's what you've a taste for," Jack smiled at her cute outburst, admiring her appreciation of sweets. "I have been wanting to bury my face in some vanilla apple pie all night, but now you've got my mind on chocolate topped with a little cream. How does that sound?"
Lydia's giggle, the healthy, colorful flush of her cheeks underneath those striking eyes. The young man found himself looking to the playful corners of her mouth, to the delicate cupid's bow crowning her soft, smooth lips. Eventually, Jack managed to glance away toward his empty plate, ears slightly red at the thought of having been caught staring. But he hadn't been looking that long, had he? No, the young man decided the look he'd given the woman had been all too brief to be considered staring. He hoped.
"If you looked at me like that with those eyes, I'm not sure I could say no, even if I wanted to." Jack came to a decision, mainly on impulse as he usually did. The young man wouldn't dare be caught dead thinking something through, so there he went. He shrugged and nudged Lydia playfully with his shoulder, smiling as he looked into her face. Jack tilted his head slightly, wondering, before leaning in.

"Apple pie sounds really good too. I haven't had a good apple pie since college, but if you want the best pie you should try my friend Amanda. Hers taste the best." Lydia listened to Jack as he brought up chocolate with cream. Yes, that is exactly what she wanted.
If Jack had been looking at her a little too long she hadn't really noticed, since she might have been doing the same thing. He broke eye contact with her before it got weird, but she continued to look at him.
All Lydia could do was blush at hid comment. She looked away unable to hold back a smile. Jack nudged her lightly which made her look back at him. If their shoulders touching for a brief moment didn't spark anything, the look in his eyes sure would. Was she imagining it, or was he really going to try to kiss her? Jack was slowly leaning in so Lydia began to do the same unconsciously.

Those last few moments that it took for his face to reach hers felt almost endless to the young man, his heart pounding relentlessly the whole time, partly from excitement and partly from fear.So much of the young man’s life had been characterized by fear and it had helped keep him alive. Jack felt fear now, too, but it was more than that. There had been very few instances where he’d known exactly what he wanted most with the sort of clarity of purpose that he did now. Fear didn’t drive him and it sure as hell wasn’t gonna stop him from living, actually living. Anyways. She was what he wanted. Lydia, in this moment, was his central focus. Jack couldn't think about anything else, even if he'd wanted to.
The young man made tentative contact with her, his lips brushing lightly against her own, at first, before settling more firmly. They were soft and Jack nearly started in surprise when their lips actually made contact with one another. Some part of the mage had almost been expecting to feel the harsh sting of an offended slap on either side of his face, or to have Lydia pull away. But it hadn’t happened, yet anyways. He kissed her.
